Scene 7: Enjoy it, it won't last long.

Author's Note: I bet you didn't expect this, did you? Well, ha ha. You were wrong. I decided to actually try and type another chapter as a congratulations for me actually getting into my senior year.

So, happy days, happy days!

Let's just get on with the story.

Disclaimer: I don't own Kuroshitsuji or anything. Just plot.

Warnings: Gore. Blood. Action. Emotional distress.

Today's chapter is going to be a blast/very, very, very, emotional.

Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

"Faster! What are you doing?! Run!" The junior said in a loud whisper, taking turns left and right, confusing the group to no end.

"Well, wait up, Ciel!" Alois spoke up, running after his best friend in a hurry. He grabbed his friend's bicep tightly, pulling the male back forcefully. His hand was powerfully smacked away by their leader, his eyes turning wide.

"What are you doing, Alois?! We're being chased by those—those, creatures and you're holding me back!" He hissed pugnaciously. The bluenette's eyes became huge when he saw tears in his best friend's eyes, immediately regretting what he said. His breath caught when the blonde turned away from him and started walking. "W-wait, Alois. It's just—"Ciel sighed out and continued. "It's just; those things are relentless, okay? And to tell you the truth, I'm…I'm fucking terrified of them. I'm so goddamn scared that they're going to take you, or, or, Sebastian, or even the fucking Undertaker, okay? I lost Lizzy and I don't want to lose anybody else and, and, I know," his voice cracked as he spoke, "that I'll never be able to stop it and that terrifies me the most."

Everything seemed to stop in that moment. No one talked or moved in that very second. The only sound the group heard was the sound of their own breaths and the sound of the leaves crunching beneath their feet.

The junior-leader glanced up at the group, tears shining in his eyes. Shielding his eyes, he pushed the tears away with his pointer-finger and thumb and pinched the bridge of his nose, attempting to hide them. "We should—we should get going, yeah." The male sighed out, turning away from the rest of the group until his shoulder was caught.

The embrace was surprising to him, making him force out a grunt. He stood there for a while until he realized who it actually was that was touching him.

Alois.

Before Ciel could speak a word to him, the blonde boy spoke to him softly, "We're all scared here, Ciel. You're, you're just not afraid to admit it." The hands that were wrapped around the leader slowly made their way to his hair, massaging his scalp delicately and the younger male leaned into the soft touch. They stood there for a minute before they heard more footsteps advanced towards them.

"Rauuuuugh!"

Pushing away from his best friend, Ciel's eyes shot towards the sound. He grabbed his duffle-bag in a panic and turned towards the group, looking at them so serious, they thought the male might just leave them there and run to save his own life.

It was quite the opposite.

"We need to run. We need to run! Now!" The azure-haired male turned a sharp left, running as if his life depended on it, which technically, it did. He heard the multiple footsteps that had been following since he had told everyone to run. (Good choice.)

Taking turns left and right, he finally stopped when he couldn't breathe, hand automatically flying to his chest as he fell to his knees. "Fu—fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Are you…fuck—fucking kidding me, right now?"

His mind was on overload, thoughts running through his mind and he knew all too well how this was going to go.

No one's going to find my inhaler when I need it.

I'm going to die.

This is fucking ridiculous.

Looking threw his lashes, he saw a perfect, dry cave; safe for his group. He just couldn't fucking get to it! He gripped tighter onto his clothing, as if that would help the burning pain go away, and it didn't.

Goddamn, it didn't. He felt like he was on fire. It felt as if someone had lit a match and threw it right inside his lungs.

"What the—Ciel!" The wheezing junior caught sight of light hair running towards him, falling down on his knees to get closer to him. He placed his hand on the frail back, rubbing slightly. "C…Ciel, hey, c'mon, man. You have to get up, please, just—just get up!"

The rest of the group came rushing frontward, but the only one who kept continuing was Sebastian. He ran as fast as he could to the pale boy who was wheezing on the ground that was covered in colorful leaves and branches that had fallen from the trees above.

The senior unfastened the duffle bag, searching for the plastic container filled with albuterol that would help him breathe through all of this. "Alois, hey, Alois! Take him to that cave, okay? That one over there," he pointed to the cave that had a couple of absent vines from the front, probably from the people that had tried to hide there before. "I'm sure that's where he wanted us to go in the first place." He muttered.

Sebastian had surveyed the blonde pick up the gasping male that was shaking on the ground and hustle him into the cave, just as his hand smacked into the familiar plastic container, he stared at the rest of the group rushing in. The raven-haired male picked up the duffle-bag and ran inside, right next to the quivering junior.

"Okay, okay, okay, Ciel. C'mon, you have to breathe this in. Please, please, please." He placed the mouth piece in the juniors' mouth and pressed the metal container, allowing the medicine to make its way through the younger males' body. "You'll be okay, I promise. I promise, Ciel. Can you breathe?" The worried tone had made Ciel wary, making him feel as if it was worse than it seemed.

Does it look like I can fucking breathe?!

Ciel shook his head frantically, pawing at the older man's shirt in fear, the pain becoming too much in his chest and the male has thought for a good moment until one final sentence ran through his mind: I'm going to die tonight, aren't I?

He felt another rush of air entering his mouth and filling his lungs beautifully, allowing him to finally take a breath, a shaky one, but any kind of oxygen would be gratefully accepting by the male at this point in time.

"Seb—Sebas…"

"I know, Ciel. I know, just breathe. All you have to do is take a deep breath—"

"Shhh! They're coming!" The red-haired ex-teacher spoke out, placing his pointer-finger in front of his mouth to keep them quiet.

There was multiple, rushing footsteps walking right past their safety place, oblivious to the group that was hiding inside.

And then, nothing.

"They—they're gone. We have to be…very quiet for the rest of the night." Navy-eyes closed in relief and he took a deep breath, smiling at the oxygen that entered his lungs. "We should be able to rest." He leaned back into the senior that was supporting him from behind and closed his eyes.

"What're we supposed to do, though, Ciel? The, the house is gone and we have limited supplies—"

"We have enough supplies, Alois." He commented back, cracking his eyes open for a second to glance at the scared figure in front of him. "We're fine for now. Enjoy it. It won't last long." Ciel spoke before shutting his eyes and letting the dark consume him entirely.
