Yahho~ everyone! I finally found some time to update this story after two stressful weeks of school. Dang it! Anyways, this ought to comfort me for the time being.
If you enjoyed this story so far then here is the next part to it. :D I hope you guys will like it!
He was soundly asleep until he had woken himself up because he heard a growl from somewhere. He sat up and scanned his room. The only auras he could distinguish were his family's who were in the room adjacent to his. There wasn't anyone else in his room, so where did that growl come from? He heard it again a few moment later and only then did he realize that the growling had come from his stomach. Now that I think about it... we didn't have dinner last night, and neither was I able to drink some blood tablets. Kaname thought, reaching to his small luggage which he had placed under his bed and got out his small pack of the said tablets. The last time he had taken some blood tabs was a few days ago, and he could say that he could feel a slight hunger from his vampire side while also feeling rather hungry for human food.
Popping a few into his mouth, he swallowed and cringed at the slightly sour taste. Ugh.. these blood tablets really don't taste as good as blood. He complained in his head. It was better than nothing though. The Kuran royal family follows their tradition that they should drink the blood of their mate first before drinking any other. It seems rather.. stupid, no? But, it had been tradition since a long time ago ever since the first Kurans, so it had to be followed. Besides, Kaname doesn't think that he'd like drinking the blood of other people. He wanted to taste the best blood first. That is, if whomever his mate is, will allow.
I want Zero to be my mate. That thought suddenly rushed through his head. Wait..what? He made himself confused. He unconsciously wanted the silverette to be his mate. No, rather, it was subconsciously. But even though, having that thought about someone whom you just met... it wasn't really something that would happen in the norm right? Or maybe it is?
He dropped the thought, intending to take a shower to freshen up a bit since he had forgotten to freshen up last night for bed and instead just changed into his night wear and plopped onto bed. He got his towel ready, a change of clothes which is not princely at all, and some other bathroom necessities. There wasn't any bathroom attached to the room he was residing in. So he opted to knock on his family's bedroom door and ask.
The pure blood was greeted by his already-dressed mother, Juri Kuran, in her simple yet lovely, pale yellow sun dress. Her hair was made into a messy bun which left a few strands of her curly hair fall to the side of her cheeks. Kaname smiled at his beautiful mother before she greeted him.
"Good morning, Kaname." She said, opening the door a little more so that Kaname could see his father, already-dressed in a pale cream suit, helping his little sister to put on her sandals.
"It seems that I've slept in." He smiled, glancing down on himself. He was still wearing his night wear.
"Don't worry dear." Juri giggled. "We were just excited about this morning's breakfast out in the front garden. You still have time to freshen up a bit so I suggest you get a move on." She said. "The bathroom is right around the corner and is in the second door to the right. I forgot to tell you that." She apologized.
"Don't worry. I'll just be a while but you can go on ahead. I can find my way to the front garden on my own." Kaname offered a small smile before greeting his father and Yuki who were making their way to where their mother was, which is at the door. "Good morning, father, Yuki." He smiled again.
"Good morning, nii-sama~!" Yuki beamed past her mother and circled her arms around her older brother's waist, earning this act a few smiles from the vampire family. Haruka just nodded at Kaname and patted his shoulder. It was a thing they, father and son, do to acknowledge each other's presence.
"I better go. I'll see you soon." That was all before the brunette walked right around the corner in search for the second door to the right which was supposedly the bathroom. He passed the first door, but it was a little while later did her finally see the second door. He knows that the palace was huge, but, to think that it was this huge, woah.
He was now standing right in front of the white wood door of the said room, knocking to see if someone was in. There was no response so he didn't hesitate to open the door and be greeted by the lavender scented bathroom. It seems that wherever I go, everything just reminds me of those lavender eyes.. He thought. Lavender the color, lavender the scent, it all leads back to the lavender-eyed silverette.. Right.. now, to get ready. He thought as he placed his things on the bathroom counter before starting to unbutton his night top.
He was about to remove his arms from the garment when he suddenly stopped at the sound of the door to the bathroom opening. He quickly turned to see the intruder and he could feel his eyes widen as he met his gaze with that of a silverette's. It was Zero.
"Prince Kaname?" The prince that just came in was frozen in place at the sight before him. He was passive at first until he realized that the pure blood prince had his upper body partially revealed. Then and there did the silverette feel his cheeks burn because of a rushed gush of heat. "I-I-I'm sorry for intruding! Please excuse me!" He moved quickly and was about to shut the door when the other's voice had stopped him.
"You didn't intrude, Prince Zero. It was of my own idiocy that I forgot to lock the bathroom door." Kaname offered a small smile which only made the silverette's face grow even more red.
"It's still my fault. I didn't knock to see if anyone was in since usually at this hour, I'd be the only one using it." Zero mumbled the last part, looking at the side since he didn't want his eyes to see the pure blood's chest. Still, Zero had thought that Kaname might have started to cover himself up but then, the pure blood just proceeded to peel off his shirt, making even more skin be exposed! "S-so, anyways, please take your time, Prince Kaname!"
"Just a moment, Prince Zero." Again, the silverette was halted from his attempt of immediately escaping such a heart pounding and awkward situation. "Breakfast is starting soon, I wouldn't want you to be late." Kaname wasn't sure about what he had in mind. No, he wasn't thinking about something perverse about the silverette. Not yet that is. But still, he still took into consideration as to what his mother had said to him a while ago.
"It's fine, Prince Kaname. I-I-I just wanted to wash my face and brush my teeth. That'll just take a few minutes, so you should go first."
"It would save time if you do that while I take a shower."
"I refuse!"
"I insist."
After that small battle of refusals and persistence which took about a minute, Zero had lost the battle. His inner self had told him to go with it since it was possible that he might be late in the breakfast setup. The Kiryu family has to assemble before the guests since that was tradition, and there's still Ichiru to take care for. Zero still needs to help him to the garden seats.
"Fine. But I'll be out as soon as I'm done so don't expect me to scrub your back for you." Zero said in a joking tone as he closed the door behind him and made his way to the bathroom sink. He could swear that his face was painted a light pink since.. oh you already know that.
"Heh." Kaname chuckled, going into somewhat transparent shower stall to continue stripping there in fear that Zero might die of a nosebleed if he saw his naked body so soon. Besides, they were still considered strangers to each other despite their great affection secretly felt towards each other.
Zero had tried not to take a peek at the slightly transparent shower stall where the pure blood was undressing in. Heck, he had to keep himself occupied by staring at his face in the huge mirror in front of him. It was completely tomato-ish! Well, let's say it's more radish. Get it? Reddish is to radish. Oh whatever. (Failed attempt to make people laugh. :P) Then the silverette heard the water running, signalling him that the pure blood had started to shower. Get yourself together, Zero. He thought to himself, slapping both his cheeks with his two hands before finally concentrating solely on the purpose why he was in the bathroom in the first place. No, it's not to stare at the pure blood's form, but to wash his face and brush his teeth. He'll change when he gets back into his room after helping Ichiru.
He grabbed his toothbrush and the toothpaste he had brought with him. He started brushing his teeth as soon as he got a blot of toothpaste on his toothbrush's bristles. He didn't want to waste time. He couldn't help but glance to his right, which was actually a wrong move since the pure blood had began rubbing soap suds on himself. Quickly averting his gaze, Zero scowled at his reflection for reddening. Yep, glancing was a bad move.
He rinsed his mouth and spat out the contents which consisted of toothpaste bubbles, water, and saliva. Opening the faucet of water a little more, the Hunter prince brought some lukewarm water to his face before putting a rich lather of his facial wash. Rubbing at his face rather quicker than usual, Zero unintentionally got some in his eyes, making him react loudly.
"Ow, ow, ow! My eyes!" He didn't shout it but it was enough for the pure blood to face the door of the shower stall to check if the silverette was okay.
"Prince Zero, are you alright?" The pure blood asked, placing his hands on the door and making moisture form at the tips of his fingers. The brunette was worried. Has something happened to Zero?
"I'm fine! I just got some soap in my eyes." Zero quickly said. "Stay where you are. I can take care of myself thank you." Even though it wasn't really needed, the silverette just had to tell Kaname to stay put.
"Are you sure that you're alright? You don't need my help?" Kaname was genuinely concerned. Well, it was the silverette he had feelings for we're talking about here. The pure blood had already finished showering and quickly wrapped a towel around his waist, intending to go outside and help the silverette get the soap out of his eyes. "I'm coming out, I'll help you."
"What?! No, you don't have to do that!" Zero's sudden jolt had caused him to stumble a bit and knock something over, shattering what seemed to be a vase that was on the counter behind the silverette. Broken glass could be heard and the pure blood quickly got out of the shower stall to see what had happened.
"Zero!"
