She was covered in leather and gold, 21 years old
I lost her in the cold
It's unfair, she's out there
Somewhere, somewhere, somewhere in Brooklyn
She's somewhere, somewhere, somewhere in Brooklyn
Somewhere in Brooklyn ~Bruno Mars

I hauled my ass to work the next day because I ended up sleeping in a little later than usual and I ended up not eating breakfast. I met with Trisha and she said if I continued to work hard I would be a shoe in for the slot if my clients liked the job I had done. She had also told me to watch the Style network tonight for a press conference about the competition.

When I headed to the Lamberts the painters were almost done so I grabbed a paint brush and pitched in. It became evening and the sun was setting along the Brooklyn Bridge as I looked out the Lambert's window. The sun is orange and pink in the sky and it shot gorgeous shades of red and yellow between the orange and pink. You could see the city light become lit up for the night life to crawl out of their homes.

"Did you ever think you would come this far?" Mr. Lambert asked.

I looked to him and shook my head. "No, I didn't think I would be where I am in a million years." I said, "I have a family who loves me at home, a great boyfriend and great clients." I smiled.

"Well we have a great designer." He smiled putting his hand on my shoulder. "You remind me of my daughter."

"Oh yeah, how so?" I asked.

"She was very much a hard worker like yourself, she saw what she wanted and she made sure she got it."

"What is she doing now?" I asked.

"She is the head of a large company now," He said.

"That sounds great." I smiled. "Good for her."

"Yeah well, I'm glad to have known you for the little time I have gotten to spend with you." Mr. Lambert said.

"Yep, I'll be out of your hair tomorrow." I said. "Your furniture will be in tomorrow."

"What a shame." He said. "But guarantee you'll get a good report with my daughter."

My eyes widened. "Trisha is your daughter?" I asked.

"Of course." He laughed. "I wouldn't have signed up for any random designer if my daughter wasn't behind the madness."

"Wow, now I can see the resemblance." I chuckled.

I looked at my phone and it was 6:30 and I hadn't eaten all day except for crackers I stole from my purse from a restaurant I had eaten at for lunch a few days ago.

"Well I have to get going." I said.

"Alright." He smiled. "Good luck."

"Thank you." I said and grabbed my purse and hailed a taxi.

After I had eaten and gotten in pajamas I turned on the television in time to catch the nig announcement from Trisha on the Style Network.

"With the big competition going on I am now going to announce the three winners that get their own branch of my company." She said. My breathing hitched and she took a deep breath and smile. "My girls just have to know that this competition was not based on favorites or your first impression, it was based off speed and how well you worked under pressure."

"The three women are, Jenna Hackensack, Isabella Swan, and Kierstyn Lobel." She smiled. I screamed; I was going to be okay for a job I was going to make it and run my own branch.

She smiled. "These girls will be opening braches of Trish and Company in New Jersey, Washington and California." She smiled. "Thank you all for coming to my press conference, I am now open for questions."

My phone started to ring off the hook from unknown numbers that were paparazzi and a great friendly name popped up and it was my Emmett. "Emmett." I sighed of relief. I only had 2 days left in New York and this was the first time I had talked to him since the fight.

"Bella, I just saw your boss on television, congratulations." He said.

"Thank you, I am very excited." I said.

"You should be proud, Charlie is jumping up and down right now along with your girls." He laughed.

"They're with you?" I asked.

"Of course, I had a Trish and Company press conference party." He laughed.

"Right…" I muttered.

"Say hi." Emmett said and I heard a rush of voices say hi and shower me with congratulations.

"Hi guys." I greeted. "I miss you guys."

"Miss you too Bella." Emily said.

"What room is Isabella Swan in?" I heard several voices shout from outside.

I walked out on the balcony and there were paparazzi being held off by security. "Oh my word, there are paparazzi looking for me."

"Nice!" Rachel laughed.

"Oh boy." I sighed.

The background noise was soon quiet and Emmett was back on the line, he was alone. "No one else there?" I asked to clarify.

"Just me." He said. I hummed an 'oh' and he started to babble how sorry he was for being a baby and how much he missed my voice and seeing me.

"Emmett, stop." I said. "I said something's that were out of line too, I called you an Edward that was out of line and that was uncalled for and a major insult."

He didn't say anything. "You are nowhere close to an Edward, that's why I chose you, you aren't there to hound on me and make me live a scheduled life, sometimes I need it and I maintain just fine, but you give me that extra boost that Edward never gave me, you make me feel special and loved."

"You are a loved person you should feel the love in this house right now, hey I'm no Jasper but even I can feel the excitement and the love pouring from everyone for you."

"No, I'm not talking about everyone else, I'm talking about you, the two of us." I said.

"I know and you make me feel the same way, you weren't so care free with Edward because he wasn't care free and you followed suit, but I am and I feel like you're more comfortable by being both." He said, "I'm probably more comfortable with being myself around you then my own family. I'm pretty sure if you were with Edward now, you wouldn't be smoking or drinking, that the care free part of you I love."

I wanted to melt, well I cant say I wanted to because I was melted. "I love you Em." I said.

"I love you too Doll and I cant wait for you to come home." He said. "I can pick you up from the airport and then we can go out for breakfast since you owe me 3 Saturday morning breakfasts."

I laughed, "Sounds good but I'm not sure how paparazzi will be in Washington if there even will be paparazzi there, I am hoping once I get into Washington I can go into hiding." I said. "I'll have to talk to Trisha."

"How is she anyway?" He asked. "Mean, bitchy, nice?"

"She is tough but fair, my clients are actually her parents." I said.

"No way, get out." He chuckled.

"No joke." I laughed.

"Well Doll, I have to get back to my guests, they might be breaking my house." He said.

"I wouldn't doubt it." I laughed.

"Alright, let me know what time your flight gets in and I will talk to you later." He said.

"Alright, I love you." I said.

"You know I love you too, more then you know." He said and hung up. I ended the call on my side of the line and sighed and shut off the television. I shut off my phone and the light and went to bed loving the idea of going home to Emmett who still loved me for me even if I didn't allow him on this journey of my life.
