Chapter #7: Take Off? (II)
*~*~*In the Plane--Reader's POV*~*~*
"Wow! I can't believe it! We're boarding the plane to Egypt!" Mokuba said again. [This is so cool!] He thought. "Isn't it awesome Seto?!"
"Yeah. Awesome." The older Kaiba said softly, looking straight ahead. [My God, if I get stuck sitting between Wheeler and Tristan....!]
"Jeeze Grandpa, I didn't know the plane would be this big!" Yugi cried, looking around. [This plane is massive!] It had eight seats per row! [1]
"Well, Yugi my boy, this is how us archaeologists fly, first class!" Solomon cried, smiling and pulling on his overalls.
"Please, take your seats. The flight will be commencing shortly." The polite flight attendant said.
"Let's see....Row six, seat six..." Téa mumbled quietly. [I just got OFF a plane to get back on one.....Man, my legs are gonna suffer! And probably turn to Jell-O..]
"Téa! Over here! I found our seats!" Yugi shouted, over the hustle and bustle of the other passengers. [I'm so glad she's back! She looks even more beautiful.......] Atem, still inside the Puzzle, snickered at Yugi's fondness of Téa.
Taking Téa's hand, Yugi lead her to her seat. His was right beside the aisle, hers was the first seat on his left. [I see that Elaya, Kaiba and Mokuba have sat down....] Yugi thought, seeing the unmistakeable carrot top and the familiar brown bangs from the seats behind him.
After sitting down, Téa said nothing but stared at the seat in front of her. "Téa? You okay?" Yugi asked, concerned. Suddenly, without warning, Téa began to cry. "Oh my God! Téa! What's wrong?!"
"I'm so happy to be here! I've missed you so much!" She sobbed, pulling him into a tight hug. [You don't know how much I've missed you Yugi!!] She continued to cry into his spiky hair.
[Well....that was odd.....and random.....] Yugi thought to himself, but he continued to comfort his Téa.
"TRIS! MOVE ALREADY!" Joey shouted from the next aisle behind Yugi's. [My God, if this moron doesn't move out of my way....!] Joey was trying to store his carry on bags in the over head compartment but Tristan was blocking the way. The blonde was standing behind the brunette, trying to shove his bags in. Finally, Joey did, pushing Tristan into the seats as well. "There."
"Jackass." Tristan mumbled, as he was sprawled over two seats. "Next time, warn me!"
"Tristan, you're in my leg room." Elaya said monotonously. "Do you mind?" Tristan's head was currently in her lap. Pushing him off with her hands, he landed in an up right position. Elaya sat back and put on her headphones. [Maybe this will drown out their stupidity......]
"You're both idiots....I hope someone informed you of that prior to this.....show." Kaiba said, barely looking up at the two boys. [I can't believe I'm in the same row with these two.....]
[Shut up rich-boy!] Joey gritted his teeth and tried not to blurt out every curse word known to man. Managing his anger, he said, "Guys, move over! I sit in this row.....and my seat is currently occupied by Tristan..."
"Wow Wheeler....It seems that your summer job taught you some new words. I guess old dogs CAN learn new tricks..." Kaiba focused one blue eye on the blonde, waiting for a reaction.
"Shut up you asshole! I went to college for your information!"
"Really? Which one? Barber or Clown?" Smirking, Kaiba crossed his chest with his hands.
"That's it!" But before Joey could lash out on the content CEO, Tristan stopped him. "Dude...Remember what we told you? Don't react!"
Controlling his anger, Joey leaned on the seats. "Well, I'm supposed to be in row seven seat five--the aisle seat--but Tristan's in it." Joey flashed his ticket.
"I'm supposed to be in seat six.....Elaya, you're in my seat." Tristan informed.
"Blah." Elaya mumbled. "I don't wanna move."
"What does your ticket say?" Joey asked.
Sighing, she grabbed her airline stub and looked at it. "Oh. I'm supposed to be in Mokuba's seat.....Yo, move over!" She cried playfully at the younger Kaiba.
"Then, where do I go?" Mokuba asked, noticing how his brother had the correct seat.
"No where." Joey said. "Just stay put.....Elaya can sit on Kaiba's lap for the trip and we could watch....."
[Pervert!] Elaya thought. But before she could lash out on the blonde, Téa-- who had stopped crying a while a go--kicked him in the shins. "Perv!"
Kaiba glared at him but said nothing.
Recovering from the fatal blow, Joey stopped hopping around on one foot. "Lemme see your ticket there Mokuba." Joey said. Grabbing it, he smirked. "Mokuba, you're supposed to be in row eight."
"But, I wanted to sit near my brother!"
"Well, according to your ticket, you will be.....you'll just be behind him instead of beside." Joey informed.
Mokuba grabbed his ticket back and looked at it. [Aw man! I AM in row eight, seat eight....Well, I guess that I'll be right behind my brother.....] Standing up, he edged his way out into the aisle.
Joey finally sat down. "You know what's the best about aisle seats?"
"I don't know. What?" Elaya asked, looking at him.
"I get to see what we're having for lunch first!" Smiling from ear to ear, Joey laughed. [It's so great to be back with the gang!]
From behind him, Bakura and Mokuba were laughing as well. Mokuba had the window seat and Bakura had the seat beside him. Solomon Motou and Professor Hopkins were sitting beside them in that order. "This is gonna be one great trip, eh Bakura?" Mokuba asked his white haired friend.
After Bakura had stopped laughing, he looks at the younger Kaiba. He felt something stir within him and it felt as if he blacked out for a second. [What's--What's happening--?] His broken thoughts littered his mind.
"Bakura? Bakura?" Mokuba asked, looking at him, concerned. Finally, Bakura looked back at him. [His face! There's something different about it!]
Two narrow eyes stared back at Mokuba. "You have no idea...."
*~*~*In Egypt--Reader's POV*~*~*
Maxamillion [2] Pegasus wiped the sweat from his brow. "Whoa. This desert heat is enough to kill someone!" He muttered, sure that no one was paying attention to him. He stepped back and took a breather by sitting on the hot sand that was piled up because of their dig.
Grabbing his canteen, he took a swing at the now hot water. "Eck. This stuff tastes terrible." Wiping his mouth he sighed. [We've been digging all day....and nothing to be found. Where the heck IS this 'unknown palace'?]
Caught up in his own thoughts, he didn't see two people walk up towards him.
"Mr. Pegasus?" a calm voice said. Looking up through one eye, he saw a tall blue eyed, black haired woman and a blonde haired purple eyed man standing beside her. "Ish--Ishizu Ishtar? What are you doing here?"
Pegasus remembered the female Ishtar. She was the one who asked him to bury the Egyptian God Cards in the sand from 'the evil within her brother'. [It appears that the evil is gone.] The one eyed man thought.
"I am here to inform you that a great ritual will be taking place." Ishizu said. "And we will need you to participate in it."
"Me? Why me?" Pegasus asked, looking at the two siblings.
"Fool. Don't you remember anything from the days when you had the Eye?" Marik asked rudely.
"Brother, that is no way to speak to someone." Ishizu scolded, but her statement was not heard by the younger Ishtar.
"The Eye is a Millennium Item that has the power to see into the minds of others. Yugi Motou has gathered the Items and is headed to Egypt now to meet up with the holder of the Key, Shadi." Marik continued.
"Ah, yes, Shadi. I remember him." Pegasus mumbled. [He was the one who gave me the Eye in the first place after promising me the power to unlock the world between the dead and the living if I gathered enough power.......]
"Good. Now, for this ritual, we need to have everyone who has been the holder of an Item in the past life and the present life--in the case of me and Kaiba both having the Rod." Marik said.
"Oh." Pegasus mumbled, standing up. "So, Yugi-boy needs me for this ritual because I had the Eye for that short time....Correct?"
"Actually, because you are the true holder of it." Ishizu explained.
"Oh! Well now, I shouldn't be the one to spoil any fun! What will this ritual accomplish?"
"The lost memories of the Pharaoh will be returned and the Shadows will be sealed once again." Ishizu said.
"Get it now?" Marik asked, annoyed.
"Yes. Of course. When, where?" Pegasus asked. [This should be interesting to see Yugi and Kaiba-boy again.....]
"We are not sure of that yet. But Shadi will come to you when the time draws near." Ishizu stated.
"How will he know where I am?"
"He will. Don't worry about it." Marik mumbled. "Sister, can we go now?"
"Yes. The message has been delivered. We shall be seeing you shortly Mr. Pegasus. Do not try to hide from the destiny fate has brought us." Ishizu turned around into the blowing sand and her younger brother Marik followed. [I sincerely hope that no past contraversies will get in the way of this ritual.........] Ishizu thought. [But something tells me that an evil will get in our way once more before this task at hand is completed....]
*~*~*In the Puzzle--Reader's POV*~*~*
"Hmph. How long before you were going to tell me that you had the Eye all along?" Yami Marik asked as he was being lead down another mysterious corridor of the Pharaoh's mind.
"I don't know." Came the answer.
Grumbling, Yami Marik continued to walk behind his supposed 'partner'. "Where are we going, anyway?"
"To the deepest, darkest part of the Pharaoh's mind." Yami Bakura stated. [Once I find that area, the Pharaoh will become insane with grief and fear............]
"Why that location?"
"Because the Pharaoh doesn't know where it is....." Yami Bakura turned around. "Nor does he know what lies in it....."
"I see. What will we accomplish once we are there?" Yami Marik asked, folding his arms over his chest. [Why the hell does he want to go there?]
"Simple. We wait."
"For what?"
"For him to come to us." Yami Bakura smiled. [And once that pathetic Pharaoh comes to where we are, we'll unlock the door and he'll be brought back to a past that is his--and partly ours. I wonder what horrors lie amongst his unknown past.....]
"I thought that we were supposed to stay hidden..." Yami Marik concluded. [Idiot. If the Pharaoh finds us, it'll be a one way ticket BACK to the Shadows.]
"Don't you DARE call me an idiot AGAIN!" Yami Bakura shouted, rushing up to the purple-eyed spirit and grabbing him by the collar. "You'll live to regret it."
Chuckling, Yami Marik smirked. "But I'm not really alive."
"If you were, I'd kill you once, twice and maybe three times--each death more gruesome then the last. And believe me, once your little Marik comes back, you will be alive......with my powers, I will ressurect you......and THEN you'll wish you were dead." Yami Bakura threatened.
[Marik?! My weak light?! How is he involved?!] Yami Marik's thoughts flooded both his mind and Yami Bakura's mind as well. "How--?"
"According to the mind of my light, Yugi and the gang are on their way to Egypt to meet up with your light, his sister and the man with one eye." Yami Bakura informed, holding up the said Item. Even though the contact and control within Bakura's body was short, it was enough to gather some much needed information about the location of the Pharaoh.
Brushing off Yami Bakura's threat, Yami Marik shrugged. "Let's get to work. That means that we do not have much time left."
"Well said, partner." Grinning like the insane person he was, Yami Bakura turned around and followed his senses to where the horrible memories of the Pharaoh lay. [Let evil seek out evil and see how well the good will find it.]
*~*~*On the Plane--Elaya's POV*~*~*
Okay. I've been on this plane for an hour. My legs hurt, I can't fall asleep because Joey and Tristan are loud and abnoxious, and I'm bored. I tried tuning into the movie they were playing, 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' but I have no idea what's going on. I haven't seen the first one.....OR read the books--but Mokuba brought them along for the ride and he allowed me to borrow them. Funny thought: If Kaiba doesn't believe in magic and 'all that mumbo-jumbo', why the hell is Mokuba reading a book on witchcraft?!
Anyway, trying to tune in to the on-board movie again. Wait, who is this ''Harry" character and what is he doing in the movie? Why is he here?
"Psst. Joey, what's going on?" I ask him. He was so into the movie he barely heard me. I punched him--that got his attention. I guess that Joey's a big fan of Harry Potter.
"Ow! What?! Can't you see I'm trying to watch something here?!"
"Both of you! Shut up! That dude is talking again!" Tristan mumbled, sitting between us.
"What's going on?" I ask again.
"Well Harry and Ron are trying to--" Joey couldn't finish. Kaiba was staring at him like he was a freak show--well, he wasn't too far off......."Oh my God! I'm obessed with a children's novel! GAH!"
"Keh. I don't care! Just tell me who or what is Harry and Ron!" I shout.
"Shut up!" Tristan yelled. "I'm trying to hear the chick talk!"
Mumbling 'idiots' under my breath, I sink back into my seat. "I can't see what Mokuba sees so interesting about this novel.." Seto began.
"Let a kid be a kid." I saidm turning my face to him.
"Well, what if that 'kid' turns out to be someone like Joey?"
"HEY! I can hear you!" Joey shouts from the far end of the aisle.
Rolling my eyes, I watch the screen. A couple of minutes later I've become sick of it. Not from the actual movie, but by what Joey and Tristan keep saying when Harry and that girl--Hermine is her name I think--get together. It's non-stop 'They are so gonna do it'.......Please, someone shoot a gun through the plane's window and let me just die already.
Man, this is gonna be a LONG flight.....
*~*
[1] Yeah, the plane is just very big. It has four seats per row on the right side and the same on the left side AND only one aisle in between.....To clarify some seating arrangements: 1) Téa and Yugi and seated on the first row closest to the aisle. They are alone up there. 2) Joey, Tristan, Elaya and Seto are in the next row in that order. (Joey is closest to the aisle) 3) Solomon, Hopkins, Bakura and Mokuba are in the next row with Grandpa closest to the aisle.
[2] Unsure spelling of Maxamillion--It's just Pegasus' first name.......Don't sue!
Oh yeah, that whole Harry Potter bit is just for humor reasons for my friend pirate_gurl (I'm sure you enjoyed that) I don't own any of those characters either....and if I spelled Hermine's name wrong, do tell, don't sue
