Chapter 7 - Something To Smelt

"Get up. We need to start your lessons early because of your little 'adventure' yesterday." Said Luke awakening me from my sleep. He pointed to my crafting table. "Get some stone and a torch and build me a furnace." He said ushering me to the crafting table. "Okay. I'll get those." I said sleepily, walking to the table. I put some stone on the table and put a torch in my creation and had a furnace. I placed it next to the crafting table. "How much Iron you got?" Luke asked me "Um... None." I said, I knew what he was going to say, so I grabbed my pickaxe and off I went.
I must have been digging for an hour, but just before I gave up hope I found a large pocket of iron ore. "Found iron. Lots of it!" I said digging up the iron and putting it in my bag. I found around 22 pieces of iron ore. I put them in the furnace and received 11 iron bars. I was instructed to build an anvil. I was then instructed to build something that required an anvil. I built a new iron sword.
"And there's your lessons done for today. Good night." said Luke, and went off to bed, at noon. I carved a small indent into a sturdy stone with my pickaxe. The indent was shaped like a +. I cooked some sand in the furnace and made glass. I put the glass back in the furnace and it started to melt. I put the melted glass in the + mould with the rest of Alice's broken accessory. I quickly poured some crushed up ruby. I quickly cooled the mould and when I saw my creation, I was satisfied with the result.
I knocked on the door to Alice's room, I waited patiently. "Who is it?" Alice asked from behind the door. "Terry, I have a present for you." I said referring to her accessory in my bag. She opened the door and I retrieved the newly repaired item from my bag. She was astonished, speechless. "Amazing! How did you do this?" She asked, amazement on her face. "Well yesterday I found sand for the structure and rubies for colour. It wasn't that difficult." I said proudly. She took the object and put it in her blonde hair.
I left Alice's room and returned to the main room. I built some stairs up and built two rooms. My room and the guides room. I marked each with a wooden sign.
Luke had woken up at one point and when he found out that he had his own room he was ecstatic. He ran into his room with his things and started unpacking. I walked into mine and broke the wall to get a nice view of the outside. I placed some remaining glass over the hole to make a window. I finished just in time to get a view of a very beautiful sunset. And with that, I moved my stretcher into my room and went to sleep.
