Bonjour, sorry this baby's a little late guys. I've been extremely busy fiddling around with a Tauriel cosplay and another elf cosplay as well. I regret to say that just like Sherlock, there will be a bit of a hiatus before the next chapter is up as well. A HUGE thanks goes out to Gwilwillith for her help with some of the dialogue in this chapter. :D ~MH

September 13th 2010

There had been so much planning, this last week was so busy. Flowers and dresses and finishing touches on everything. Jim was so lucky he only had to worry about signing cheques and finding a suit. I on the other hand was left planning and finding and generally running around like a headless chicken. I could finally say it was here though, tomorrow was the day. I was becoming Mrs Adelaide Sierra Moriarty.

We had taken up a penthouse suite in the heart of London. A hair and makeup team would be in in the morning and the bouquets would be delivered but for now, it was just Georgie, Mikayla, Ruby and I. We spent hours on the couch going through copious amounts of tea and chatting about what would happen tomorrow. I wasn't going to leave it too late though, I was in bed and asleep before half past ten.

September 14th 2010

I woke up at precisely ten o'clock to a soft knock at my door, "come in" I answered.

Georgie poked her head around the door and smiled her huge beautiful grin at me, "Are you ready to get married today?"

I beaconed for her to come over and patted the bed next to me. She walked over and curled up next to me as I wrapped my arms around her. "I'm actually really nervous sweet. I have these horrible butterflies in my stomach right now." I smiled down at her, playing with a strand of her bright blue hair.

"Why? You're going to be the hottest bride ever. Jim isn't going to want to know about any other women ever."

"I don't know, just nervous." I thought for a moment and then looked back down to her, "You know I used to have bright blue hair the same as yours when I was 18?"

She looked up to me, "Dad's told me. He said he remembers when you came in with some school trip and he was taking the tour and you were asking so many questions because you wanted to work for them so badly." It was true, my last year of high school I was taken on a class tour around Scotland Yard by a very young Greg and that was when I knew I wanted to work there. We both giggled a little and then nattered away about anything and everything. After about half an hour we heard muffled giggles from the other room so we went out to sit with Ruby and Mikayla. We ate breakfast and then the hair and makeup team turned up at about twenty past eleven and I slipped into my bridal lingerie and put on a long silk robe.

I sat in a canvas high chair and the artists worked their magic on me. My hair hung down past my shoulders like silken waves with one side pinned back behind my left ear. My makeup was natural but flawless, they had even managed to cover up the faint scars on my wrists. I felt like a million dollars slipping out of the chair after they had finished. Everyone's hair and makeup was done within about an hour. Mikayla was the last to have hers done and as she finished the flowers arrived with a very dapper looking Greg. He was my escort down the aisle today.

"Wow, don't you look gorgeous Adey." He hugged me and kissed me on the cheek, keeping careful of my hair and makeup.

"Thanks Greg" I looked up at him, grinning from ear to ear, "I feel beautiful today."

"You look beautiful every day Adelaide." Greg smiled down at me warmly and put an arm around my shoulders, "Oh, and before everyone gets dressed I have gifts from the groom. These…" he pulled three boxes out of a bag I hadn't noticed he was carrying, "… are for the bridesmaids." Greg handed each of the girls a smallish box and each girl opened their box to unveil a diamond tennis bracelet. He then turned to me, "And I had strict instructions to make sure you received both the box and note accompanying it." He smiled and handed me a similar black box with a white ribbon tied around it. I undid the ribbon and took the lid off the box to find a pair of beautiful diamond drop earrings. They were perfect. I gasped and a hand shot up, covering my mouth. I looked up to the girls and they all looked back at me with grins. "What does the note say?" Georgie asked expectantly.

I looked down to the note still in my hand and turned it over so I could read it aloud,

Adelaide,

I have awaited the day I could call you my wife eagerly for the last two months and in a few hours you will be Mrs Adelaide Moriarty. I couldn't wish for a better partner in crime. I can't wait to see your beautiful smile as you walk down that aisle.

Love Jim x

"Awwwww" the girls all chimed as I looked up to them all with a goofy grin on my face, this man always knew what to say. I put the earrings in, they matched my hair and dress amazingly. Had he somewhat known what my dress looked like? "Okay, everyone get changed. It's nearly go time." I turned to Mikayla, "Maid of honour duties for you Madame. I need someone to help me into my dress."

After Mikayla had helped me squeeze into my dress I let her go and change into hers. I slipped on my white Satin bridal shoes and just stood, staring into my reflection in the floor length mirror. I couldn't believe how amazing my dress was, I thought it was the perfect dress. Perfect for the bride of Jim Moriarty. It had a backless lace bodice that hugged every inch of me, the lace just covered my shoulders in short sleeves. A row of white material buttons inched their way down my lower spine to stop just above my thighs. The sheer material of the skirt hung in amazing waves down to the train. The lace re-formed at the hem and random panels of it dotted around the sheer skirt. I loved it so much and I just hoped that Jim would to. I couldn't help my nerves though.

I spent a good long while standing in the mirror just staring at the dress trying to mentally tame the butterflies in my stomach. I decided to pull myself together and walked out of the room to be met with all three girls in their dresses. They looked absolutely beautiful. They were a wonderful light blue, soft material that reached down to the ground. A belt of the same material brought in the waist and a cluster of diamantes and silver sequins sat on the right side of their waists. The material came up to a strap on their left shoulder and had a split surrounded by more diamantes and silver sequins stopping just before any cleavage showed. It was the first dress they had all tried on and we all loved it instantly. They had shoes of a matching colour and the diamond tennis bracelet Jim had bought for each one. They were all a picture of perfection. Their hair was all similarly styled to mine, each with their different shade. Mikayla had blonde hair, Ruby had black, and Georgie had her bright blue. They all held their delicate pink and white bouquets in their manicured hands.

They all turned around to see me walking out of the room and ran up catching me in a group hug. Right now it was go time, Mikayla handed me my bouquet and I looked over to Greg, "Ready?" he asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be" I answered with a shaky voice, the nerves had not simmered down.

We hopped in our respective cars. The girls were in the front car and Greg and I followed behind in another car. We sat in silence for about five minutes before I grabbed Greg's hand and squeezed it slightly, "Greg, I'm really nervous. I can't stop the butterflies in my stomach" My voice still shaky with nerves.

He looked down at me and covered my hand with his other one, "It's not too late, if you're having second thoughts just say the word and we'll be gone."

"I can't stop thinking that when we get there Jim's just gonna see me and decide he doesn't actually want to marry me. We're kind of getting married pretty fast after all." I looked down, trying to hide my sad eyes.

Greg squeezed my hand slightly and lifted up my chin so I was looking back up at him, "Why would he think that? You look incredible. Do you love him?"

"With all my heart, he's the one I want to spend my life with but I'm just, I don't know, just really nervous. Were you like this on your wedding day?"

"Then you have your answer. It's a big step and its scary, but if you're sure about your feelings then it's that good scary. I was such a wreck on my wedding day."

I smiled slightly, "Really? What were you like? I hardly touched breakfast this morning and stood in front of the mirror for about nine years, that's why you were all waiting this morning."

"I was still hungover form my stag night and spent the morning throwing up the night before. I was shaking and pale. The best man had gone missing and was late. It was shambolic, but I loved the woman I was about to marry, so I sobered myself up, got ready and faced the proverbial firing squad. You're the bride, you are allowed to be late." I couldn't help but laugh a little along with Greg; his wedding was like something out of a comedy movie.

"I think you win on that front. Jim's only been with Seb so I don't think he'd end up... actually oh dear. If Seb's gotten him drunk I'm going to kill both of them. I know but I don't want to keep the boys waiting too long." I leant my head on Greg's shoulder for the rest of the ride, only about 5 minutes to the venue. It was a small garden out the back of a church.

We finally arrived and the girls had hopped out of their car and Greg had helped me out of ours, my hand was still clasped firmly in his. I leaned in and hugged Greg, resting my head on his chest, still trying to calm myself down. "Do I look okay now? Do you think Jim's excited?"

"Everything is perfect, you're perfect. It's a short walk then you get to light up the life of the man you love. He's an incredibly lucky bastard." Why did I have the feeling Greg was slightly sad that I was getting married not to him? I looked up and smiled at him and we turned to head down the aisle. I took a step forward and stumbled over myself, almost falling to the gravelled ground. Greg grabbed my arm to stop me going down and helped me back up, "You alright?"

"Yeah, sorry."

He smiled shaking his head slightly. I finally released his hand and looped my arm through his. It was now or never. The girls started down the aisle, I still couldn't see Jim. Seb however scrubbed up well, he looked so dapper. We got half way down the aisle and it was then I saw the man I was about to marry. A huge smile graced my face and I turned to whisper to Greg as we were walking, "I can't hide my smile anymore. He looks so handsome."

"Then you're making the right choice. Be happy Adelaide" he whispered back.

Jim still hadn't looked up, his eyes were turned to the ground and he was kicking imaginary stones with his shiny black shoe. He was deep in thought and nerves as Seb leaned over to whisper something in his ear. He looked up and was just as nervous as I was. I had never known Jim Moriarty to be nervous. His grin grew as soon as he saw me though and might I say he looked devilishly handsome. He was right, his suit was amazing. He had a black, amazingly tailored tuxedo with a matching black bowtie. Bowties are cool.

We came to stop next to him and the celebrant asked, "Who gives away this beautiful young woman today?"

Greg answered, "I do." And he leaned in to kiss me on the cheek, "Be happy Adelaide" repeating what he had told me just before.

I turned to hand Mikayla my bouquet and then turned back to Jim, smiling. "Hi" I whispered.

"Hey, you look beautiful." His voice was almost as shaky as mine. Now I couldn't believe it, he was almost as nervous as I was. I smiled back at him and we turned to the celebrant.

It was a fairly small ceremony and he looked beyond us at the girls, and at Seb standing by Jim's side, and at Greg by my side. "We happy few are gathered here on this slightly brisk day to witness the joining of two souls. Today marks the closing of one door and the opening of another. I believe you have both prepared vows, James if you would like to take Adelaide's ring and place it on her finger as you say your vows."

Jim turned back to Seb and took a simple engraved, silver band before turning back to me, "Adelaide, you picked me up at one of the darkest times of my life. You breathed life back into me and showed me what it meant to love again. You're the reason I wake up with a smile every day, the reason I look forward to returning home from work every day, you're the reason I look forward to every day for the rest of my life. I, James Edward Moriarty, take you, Adelaide Sierra Thompson, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, from this day forward until death do us part." Jim slipped the ring onto my finger and stopped it just in front of my engagement ring before looking back up to me and smiling warmly.

"Adelaide if you would like to take James' ring and place it on his finger as you say your vows."

I took Jim's ring from Seb, smiling, and then turned back to Jim. "James, I cherish every moment I spend with you. You've saved me from myself, from the pain, and from the monsters. You've accepted all of my flaws and scars and mistakes. I cherish the thought of spending the rest of my life with you and becoming Mrs Moriarty. I, Adelaide Sierra Thompson, take you, James Edward Moriarty, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, from this day forward until death do us part." I slipped the ring on Jim's finger and then looked back up into his warm, brown eyes.

"By the authority granted in me I now pronounce you husband and wife. James, you may now kiss your wife."

Jim stepped forward, placing a delicate hand around the back of my head and pressed his lips to mine, I placed my newly ringed hand on his chest and the other one in the small of his back. We spent a long moment fully enveloped in the kiss before parting only mere centimetres to smile at each other. I turned around to look at the girls with a huge grin across my face and then over at Seb with the same smile. "Hello Mrs Moriarty" Jim spoke as he looked deep into my eyes. That moment was truly perfect, after all my nerves I couldn't have wanted it any other way. I was now married to the man I loved and I was Mrs Adelaide Moriarty. Nothing would ever change that.

We hopped into our designated cars. I was in a car with Jim obviously, Seb and Greg in another car, hopefully that wouldn't cause any trouble, and the girls in another car. As soon as the car set off I wrapped my arms around Jim and snuggled into his side, "I missed you." I smiled up at him.

"I missed you as well. God you look beautiful, and now you're all mine." He kissed my forehead.

"I wouldn't have it any other way Mr Moriarty." I reached into his pocket and brought out his phone. I leant up and kissed him again, taking a photo as I did so. I felt him smile against the kiss as the shutter sound went off. I pulled back a fraction of an inch, "I love you Jim."

"I love you as well Adelaide. Can I tell you a secret?"

"Anything my love" I smiled sweetly up at him, taking one of his hands in mine.

"I was so nervous this morning. I thought I would get there and you wouldn't want to marry me, or you had run off with Greg."

I placed a soft hand on his cheek, "You know I thought the exact same thing. I thought I would walk down the aisle and you would decide you didn't want to marry me."

"Well, we're both stuck now" He smiled and kissed me again.

We arrived home and Jim helped me out, our hands still clasped together. He swept me off my feet, picking me up and carrying me up the steps and in the front door. He let me back down to the ground before leaning in to kiss me again. He took my hand and lead me up the stairs and into my studio where everyone was waiting. "Mr and Mrs Moriarty" Seb announced as we entered the room and everyone started cheering.

We walked into the centre of the room and Jim smiled down at me, even when I was in heels he was taller than me. "Shall we dance?"

"Lead the way husband dearest" I smirked.

Jim looked back towards Seb and he pressed play on the sound system. Feeling Good by Michael Buble started playing and I leaned my head on Jim's chest. We started swaying with the music and I felt truly content and happy and in love. I finally married the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and I didn't want this day to end.

Fish in the sea

You know how I feel

River running free

You know how I feel

Blossom on a tree

You know how I feel

It's a new dawn

It's a new day

It's a new life

For me

And I'm feeling good

I wasn't his girlfriend anymore, I wasn't his fiancé anymore. We were married. I was his wife and he was my husband. Our lives were changed forever. We all spent the rest of the afternoons dancing away and then the alcohol was brought out and that's when the fun really began. After everyone left I leaned into whisper to Jim, "I have a surprise for you." I took his hand and lead him up to our room. "Unbutton me love?" I turned around, smiling at him over my shoulder.

"Mmm, I'm going to do more than unbutton you" he place hot, wet kisses along my neck and unbuttoned the back of my dress so it slipped down to the ground. I stepped out of it, and stood in front of him in my bridal lingerie. I pushed him back until he sat down heavily on the antique arm chair and he put his hands on my waist.

"uh-uh" I shook my head, taking his hands away from my waist, "No touching the performers please Sir." I smirked at him and then took three steps away, stopping in front of him with my back turned I pressed the button on a remote and threw it onto the ground beside the bed before the song started.

"He met Marmalade down In old Moulin Rouge

Struttin' her stuff on the street

She said, "Hello, hey Jo, you wanna give it a go?" Oh! uh huh"

I strutted towards him and gave the performance of my life. I shimmied and shook my ass, I gyrated and grinded up against him, giving the performance all I had. His hands found their way to my waist again and I stopped moving completely to lean down and whisper in his ear, "No touching the dancers please Sir." I placed his hands back on the arms of the chair and continued my tease. I brushed my hand all the way down his chest and across his thighs and I felt Jim shudder with pleasure before bringing his hands up an inch or two, "Fuck Adelaide. I'm not going to be able to hold back from you much longer if this keeps going on." He leaned his head back on the head of the chair and I licked all the way up his exposed neck before finishing off with the end of the song. I was left straddling him in my lingerie.

"Now you can touch" I whispered seductively in his ear and almost as soon as I had finished my sentence he had picked me up and dumped me on the bed. He climbed on top of me, pinning me to the mattress and was thoroughly kissing me. His hands slid down to undo my bridal lingerie and slip it off and I got to work on removing his suit. Let's just say my wedding night was the best night I had ever had with Jim.

My eyes fluttered open and I picked up my phone to check what the time was, the light coming from my screen was blinding. It was half past two, okay so we had been asleep for two hours. Suddenly I felt Jim place a light kiss on my neck and I rolled over to smile at him, bleary eyed. "How long have you been awake?"

"Mmm, for the last two hours?"

"You haven't even fallen asleep yet? What have you been doing?"

"Admiring my beautiful wife" He smiled down at me and then leaned in to kiss me.

"Slightly creepy" I smiled back and then wrapped my arms around his warm, shirtless figure, leaning my head on his chest and falling back asleep as he tightened his arms around me slightly.

The rest of the early morning went well, I woke up feeling refreshed at about nine. "Good Morning Mrs Moriarty" Jim whispered as he stroked my hair.

"Morning husband…" I smiled up at him, kissing him delicately, "Do anymore creepy watching last night?"

He chuckled, "No I fell asleep just after you did. Are you ready for today? We have a honeymoon to go on."

"Yeah about that, are you going to tell me where we are going yet?" Jim had decided that it was going to be a surprise and I didn't even know the slightest detail about where we were travelling, just what type of things to pack.

We spent a week in Rome, Italy. I had always kept a list of places I wanted to visit and Rome was right up the top. Jim had ticked off many of the places on my list and I was so sure he had seen it because I always got the same answer when we went to one of the places. "I know, I wanted it to be perfect for you."

Anyway, we spent the week wandering around the Roman sites and I spent a good deal of time sunbathing beside the pool of our hotel in a new black and white striped bikini I had bought from a little boutique. Jim couldn't keep his hands off me when I was in it. It was a great week and I didn't want it to end, to go back to the dreary London weather.

The day before we left I got a phone call, "Adelaide Moriarty?" I greeted in the usual manner, with my new name.

"Adelaide, hi it's John Watson here. You remember from the serial murder case a few weeks back?"

"John hey, Of course I remember you. The doctor, how could I forget you?" I answered him in a cheery voice, I had been in a great mood ever since the wedding.

John chuckled to himself on the other side of the phone and I heard a muffled voice in the background, unmistakably Sherlock Holmes. "Have you asked her yet?" John whispered back to him, "Just wait Sherlock." He returned to the phone, "Sherlock wants to talk to you."

"okay" I said confuse, why didn't Sherlock ring me himself?

"We need your forensics expertise on a case." He said bluntly as he was passed the phone.

"Well hello to you to. I'm not actually in the country at the moment. My flight gets back tomorrow"

"What? Where are you then?" he asked exasperated.

"I'm in Rome, on my honeymoon. It's what generally happens after you get married."

"You're married now?" he asked with a confused tone.

"Yes Sherlock, I am. Congratulations on your deductions. Now, what do you want help with?"

"Oh umm that. What time do you get back tomorrow?"

"The flight arrives at about eleven in the morning. Why's that?"

"We'll need you to come around at about midday then."

"Are you going to tell me what this is about?"

"Another case, and you seem to be one of the only people around here with a brain. One of the only people that will actually work with me."

I paused for a moment, thinking and then sighed, "Alright fine. I'll be round at twelve. Goodbye Sherlock." I hung up. Secretly though I was excited to be working on a new case.
