When Tiffany woke up from her nap she knew exactly what she had to do. She had to run, get her kids and run. Away from Chucky, Chad and he stalker. She would jsut disappear. She crawled out of the bed and pulled on one of the pairs of designer jeans that she owned, and a black t-shirt with a red cross. She pulled on her leather jacket, and combat boots sweeping her hair into a pile ontop of her head. She looked at herself in the mirror it had been years since she had wore this look.

She moved down the stairs into the living room where Chucky was sitting watching telvision drinking a beer. She grabbed her purse and he called out to her.

"Tiff?" He called.

"Yeah?" She asked stepping into the living room.

He stood up setting his beer on the coffee table. His eyes raked over her dress and she felt naked.

"I...I was just going to take the kids and go to the store." She said.

"You were never a good liar." He said moving closer.

His eyes burned into hers and he walked in that slow predatory way that drove her crazy. Like a lion as it surrounded it's mate. He moved closer, but she stood her ground.

"I have to get things for dinner." She said.

"So go, but the kids stay here." He said.

"No." She said shaking her head.

"Do you think I'm stupid enough to let you walk out of here with both my children? I can read you like a book Tiff. You're going to run and I know it." He said.

"I've changed. I just need to go to the store." She said.

"No, the kids stay here." He said.

She never could lie to him no matter what it was about. She looked away from him needing a minute to think. She could get all her money while she was in town and make a run another time. Tonight after he went to sleep.

"Okay, but promise me you won't hurt the kids." She said looking at him.

"I promise." He said.

She turned to leave and he grabbed her arm spinning her around to face him. She looked up at him with pure fear in her eyes.

"You look good in these clothes." He said his hand winding up her side.

"Don't." She said squirming slightly.

"They'd look better on the floor. What do you say?" He asked gripping her hip so hard it hurt.

"No." She said.

"Why?"He asked.

"I'll only sleep with someone I love." She said bitterly and he smiled.

"You love me Tiff. You know you do." He said and she wanted to object. She wanted to deny it, but she didn't.

"I'm not sleeping with you." She said.

"Who said anything about sleeping? I'm talking about raw, passionate, mind blowing sex." He said and she scowled.

"No. I have to go to the store." She said trying to break free, but he gripped her arm tighter.

"How about a kiss before you go?" He teased.

"You're digusting...no." She turned again and he laughed.

He pulled on her arm hard enough to spin her around and slam her body against his chest. His hands cupped her face and his lips crushed down on hers. Her first reaction was a muffled whimper and her hands flew to his chest in an attempt to push him away, it lasted all of four seconds before her second reaction hit, and she gave in.

Some people will say that the world is going to end one day, that it will go out with a bang, but it didn't. Not for Tiffany, it ended with a soft moan of surrender.

Her hands froze on his chest, but didn't push him away and she kissed him back. His hands dropped to wrap around her waist pulling her closer. He bit her bottom lip and she opened her mouth granting him access. She couldn't deny the rush of longing that swept her, he always had that power over her. His hands buried themselves in her hair, and when he pulled on it she let her head fall back. His other hand slid under her shirt, and his cold fingers against her heated skin brought her back to reality.

She shoved him hard, but he didn't fall over. He looked at her confused.

"I said no." She said.

"That was a no?" He asked with a grin.

"Just keep your hands to yourself." She said with a huff as she turned on her heel and stormed out of the house she heard him laughing in the living room.

She got in her car, and took a deep breath before driving to the grocery store. She climbed out, and grabbed a basket as she walked up and down the endless aisles. She didn't really need anything at the store, but if she didn't buy something he'd know for sure she was lying.

She bought a bag of potato chips, some milk, and other ingrediants. After buying the food she ran to the bank getting out to use the ATM she withdrew as much money as she thought she'd need for a few days. She was cramming the money in her purse when someone spoke behind her.

"Hello." She turned around and saw Chad.

"Hello Chad." She said stiffly.

"Look Tiffany about what happened today. I don't know what your boyfriend told you..."He said trailing off.

"He's not my boyfriend, he's my husband, and he didn't tell me anything Glenn did." She said.

"Look, the kid is a liar. He'll say anything to make his dad happy." Chad said grabbing her arm.

"No, He wouldn't and if you knew my son as well as you pretended to you would have known that." She said shrugging him off.

"Tiffany, please what we had could have been great." He said.

"You used my children to get to me." She said.

"I'm sorry. I just really liked you." He said.

"I liked you too, but my husband is home now. I have to go." She said.

"So that's it then? You're just going to take him back after he ran out on you and the twins?"

"It was complicated." Tiffany said hating herself for defending Chucky.

"He isn't a good man, he's not right for you." Chad said.

"He is a good man...at least he can be...to me." Tiffany said softly.

Her mind flashed back to the night they went on their first date. To the front seat of his car, as he drove saying nothing while she cried softly to herself.

"Are you okay?" Chucky asked after a few miles of driving.

The only reply he got was a low whine, followed by more sobbing. He adjusted his shirt collar suddnly very warm. She was a basket case beside him, and he didn't know how to handle a crying woman.

"Look, Do you want dropped off somewhere?" He asked.

"No." She said softly.

"Okay...are you alright?" He asked.

"Yes." She snapped before sobbing some more.

"Does this happen a lot?" He asked.

"Why do you care?" She asked finally looking at him, with a scowl.

"I don't I just need to know where the hell to drop you off." He snapped.

She erupted into heavier sobs burrying her head in her hands, and he felt guilty.

"Look, I'm sorry. Let's just drive around until you calm down." He offered.

She didn't say anything so he continued to drive. The silence was awkward, and only broken by her soft sniffles, and occasional hiccup which he found strangely adorable.

"I'm sorry." She said finally.

"About what?" He asked.

"Everything, this is a crappy first date." She said.

"It's not your fault. Besides, it's not over...where should we eat?" He asked.

"I don't care." She said with a shrug.

"You're not one of them vegetarians are you?" He asked.

"No, No way." She said shaking her head.

"Thank God." He said with a sigh.

"Do you date a lot of vegetarians?"She asked.

"Not if I can avoid it." He said.

She smiled as he turned into a bar and parked his car. He got out, and she followed him looking wearily at the place.

"Come on, I'm starving." He said when she hesitated.

"I'm not old enough to drink." She said simply.

"Yeah, well they have the best steaks in the state." He said grabbing her arm and leading her into the bar.

They stepped inside the bar, which was pretty empty other than a few men at the bar itself. There were two men in a booth near the back. Rock and Roll music blasted from speakers, and the place smelled like booze, and smoke. Chucky led her to a back booth and she slid in timidly. One of the men at the bar laughed loudly, and she jumped. Her mother was a drunk, it was then he realized why she was hesitant to be here. It was the alcohol that made her nervous.

"I'm sorry, what was I thinking bringing you here?" He asked jumping to his feet so quick she winced away from him.

"No, No, I'm not going to hit ya." He said quickly.

"It's okay.."She said softly.

"No, I don't know why I would think bringing you around alcoholics was a good idea." He said mentally kicking himself.

"It's okay. I mean...sit down." She said her eyes pleading with him.

"Are you sure?" He asked sitting down, and she nodded as a waitress approached.

"Hey Charles." She said.

She was older than Tiffany with red hair pulled back in a ponytail. She had on way too much eye make up Tiffany thought. She had big gold hoop earring in, and a black tank top on showing off a tattoo above her left breast, and on her upper right arm. Her red jeans hugged her legs beneath the studded belt. She also had a nose ring. She popped her gum loudly.

"Hey Christy." He said taking a menu from her.

"What can I get you for drinks?" She asked.

"Sweet tea please?" Tiffany asked.

Christy raised an eyebrow, and bit back a laugh before shaking her head and writing it down.

"Little bit of a light weight Charles?" Christy asked.

"Yeah, something like that." Chucky said not wanting to admit Tiffany wasn't old enough to drink.

"What'll you be having? The usual?" Christy asked.

"I'll have...a coke." He said looking at Tiffany.

"Rum and Coke?" Christy asked.

"No, just coke." He said.

"Alright man...whatever." Christy said walking away.

"You didn't have to do that. You can order whatever." TIffany said when they were alone.

"Nah, I need to cut back anyway." He said with a shrug.

She gave him a shy smile, and looked back at her menu. Christy returned with their drinks and they ordered. Steak and fries for Chucky, and grilled chicken breast with broccoli for Tiffany. She had just finished ordering when he spoke.

"Here' go play something on the jukebox that you like." He said handing her change.

She slid out of the booth looking at Christy who offered her a smile. Tiffany got the feeling that he wanted to be alone with their waitress, but decided it wasn't any of her business. She crossed the bar to the jukebox and began flipping songs. She tried not to eavesdrop, but she caught pieces of Chucky and Christys conversation.

"Taking her home right after dinner." Chucky said.

"...Getting some from someone younger." Christy said.

"...not like that...she won't give it..."Chucky said.

"Midnight..."Christy said.

"Eleven."Chucky said.

Tiffanys heart sank. So he was meeting someone else to get the sex she wouldn't give him. She wished she could just give herself to the first good looking man she met, and not care. She did like Chucky, and while he was intimidating, and odd she thought he was okay. She wouldn't sleep with him tough. She promised herself. She went back to the booth, and slid in as her song started.

"Rob Zombie? You picked this?" He asked.

"Yeah...I like the beat of his songs." She said softly.

"Never met a girl who liked rock." He admitted.

"I do." She said finally meeting his gaze he smiled at her.

Christy brought their meals, but Chucky didn't take his eyes off of Tiffany. She looked at her plate nervously, but could still feel his eyes on her. Christy called his name twice, and after getting no responce finally left. They ate in silence, and he offered her desert which she declined. He paid without speaking more than was needed to Christy, and opened the door for Tiffany when they reached the car.

"Am I taking you home?"He asked.

"Yeah, I have nowhere else to go." She said.

"Will you be okay?"He asked.

"Mom will be passed out by now."She said with a tone that he knew she was positive.

"Oh, ok." He said.

They pulled up infront of her house, and he opened her door helping her out of the car they walked up the sidewalk together. They reached the door, and she grew nervous.

"I had a nice time." He said.

"Me too." She said honestly.

"Would you like to go out again?" He asked.

"I don't think so." She said reluctantly.

"Why not?" He asked.

"I'm obviously not your type...I'm the exact opposite, and I can't give you what you want." She said with a shrug.

"Okay, no I admit you're not my type. You're too innocent to be my kind, but I wouldn't ask if I wasn't serious." He said.

"I know about you and Christy..."She said softly.

"Yeah, we get drunk, and bang. That's all there is."He said like it was nothing.

"Goodnight Charles." She said turning for the door.

He grabbed her hand spinning her back around he kissed her. Hard, and passionate. She froze for a minute, and he moved his hands to grip her head. She kissed him back a little softer, and his tongue forced it's way past her lips. She made a small noise of surprise, but didn't protest. When she tentively tried to slide her tongue against his he bit it, and she pulled away in shock.

"You're just so damn innocent." He said with a smile.

"I'm not as innocent as you think."She said.

"You ever been kissed like that?" He asked.

"No, but I've been kissed before."She said.

"You still a virgin?"He asked.

"No."She said with a determing clench of her jaw.

"I'll see you around."He said with a laugh he started towards his car.

"Charles?"She called.

"Yeah?"He turned to look at her walking backwards, hands in his pockets.

"I'd like to go out again." She said.

"I'll call you." He said getting in his car.

She waved as he drove away.

Tiffany was brought back to reality, by a nearby car blowing it's horn, and she jumped. Chad was standing there looking at her like he had a right to an apology.

"Stay away from me, and my Children." She said.

"Plenty of women who would want a chance with me." He said.

"Good, Go find some." She said pushing past him she walked to her car not in the least bit sorry.

Chucky was sitting on the couch when Glenn came sleepily down the stairs.

"Hey Glenn." Chucky stood, and Glenn froze.

"Where's mommy?" He asked.

"She's not here." Chucky said.

"What did you do? Where's mommy?" Glenn asked terror making his tiny voice hysterical.

"What's going on?" Glenda asked coming down to join her brother.

"HE KILLED MOMMY!" Glenn screamed.

"WHAT!?"Glenda wailed.

"No, no, no, no, I didn't kill anyone she went to the store." Chucky said holding out his hands in surrender.

"You promise she'll come home?" Glenda asked seeming suspicious.

"Yes, I promise." Chucky said.

"You better hope so." Glenda said taking Glenns hand, and heading for the couch to wait for their mother.

Chucky sat on the chair next to the couch trying to ignore the two tiny sets of blue eyes that were watching him. Glenda swung her feet staring with hatred, while Glenn stared with pure interest at his father.

"Why don't you guy watch television?" He asked.

"I want to watch Scooby Doo." Glenda said.

"NO! that show scares me." Glenn said miserably.

"You're a wimp." Glenda said.

"Come on guys. No name calling." Chucky said.

"What are you going to do about it?" Glenda asked.

"I am your father. I can discipline you." Chucky said.

"You touch us, and mom will kill you...again." Glenda said.

"I don't have to touch you. I'll just let Glenn pick the movie you watch." Chucky said handing Glenn the remote.

"Really?" Glenn asked looking at it like it was some treasure.

"Sure." Chucky said.

"You really shouldn't have done that." Glenda said with a groand flopping back onto the couch.

Twenty three minutes later, when Glenn was singing happily with his movie, and clapping his hands Chucky decided Glenda was right. If the duck, and goose didn't stop holding hands, and skipping through that feild soon Chucky might go crazy. The frienship song had to be the most repetitive nonsense he ever heard, but Glenn loved every second.

When the car pulled in both kids shot to their feet, and rushed to meet Tiffany. Chucky sighed in relief, and followed them reluctantly. Tiffany embraced both children, but he saw the sadness in her eyes. Something upset her, and he knew her well enough to know it. As she, and the children headed inside he grabbed the groceries making a mental note to ask her what happened after dinner.
