Mira stood there, in the middle of a massive crowd, all eyes on her. Her only focus was a tall blond male with a lightening shaped scar walking towards her with such power and strength. Mira felt her body being bum rushed when he slammed into her, giving her a huge hug.
"I love you too," Laxus confessed.
Mira's body completely shut down when she heard those words.
She never, ever heard those words in her life before. Maybe family and dear friends, but intimate lovers or partners…nope, never.
Mira hugged Laxus back. The crowd cheered. Mira heard things like, "she's so lucky," "when did this happen?" "They totally match," and "their babies would be so adorable."
Babies.
Mira released her hold on Laxus.
"What happened?"
"L-Laxus, I think-"
"What is the meaning of this?" A loud and booming voice said.
Mira and Laxus turned to see a disappointed Gildarts and an angry Makarov.
Mira began to plead with him. "Sir, I'm sorry, but I love your grandson. If you wish to punish, just punish me."
"No, punish me." Laxus said defending Mira.
Makarov looked at the two lovers. His intense stare caused such tension in the room that Mira could not even breathe properly. She thought that maybe no one could.
Laxus held onto Mira as they waited for the decision of their boss.
Mira saw how he was trembling with anger, but then she saw him crack a smile. Laughter followed suit. All of his employees looked at the old man as if he was crazy.
"Man, I knew I was not going to be able to keep up for much longer," the president said.
Mira and Laxus blankly stared at him.
"Good job Gildarts for making them think I would not approve." He said turning to his VP.
"Wait a minute, you knew this whole time?" Laxus said, anger was his new trend.
Makarov smiled at his grandson. "I know everything that happens in my company. So all you "secret" couples, I know about you people. Unfortunately I saw enough of you through the cameras." The boss shivered in disgust.
Mira saw how many of the employees blushed, even her own sister and brother! What were they hiding from her?
"So why the rule?" Laxus asked.
"I made it up to see how serious you were about my Mira. I care for her like a daughter and I didn't want you blowing it. However, I saw the change in you. I saw the change in her as well. And who the hell do you think keep tracks of your credit cards? I know half of the things you bought was for Mira, she would always wear it to work."
Laxus blushed of embarrassment, while Mira was completely blank.
"H-how long you knew?" She asked.
"Since he first laid his ugly eyes on you," Makarov answered. "I had to keep watch on him. And I knew when Jura called me saying Laxus was a bit quiet during the discussion of the furniture."
Mira joined Laxus in being embarrassed, but Mira felt like she won when it came to whose face was more red.
"There are no cameras in my office right?" Laxus whispered to his grandfather.
"Hell no, there's no cameras in the office, it's outside the offices is what scared me." He whispered back.
Laxus nodded and turned to Mira.
"So why did whole party?" Natsu asked. "Not that I'm complaining, the food is awesome."
"Well Laxus did say he wanted to marry the girl he loved," Makarov said.
"So-" Levy began.
"You're saying-," Lucy continued.
"That this is-" Erza stated.
"Our wedding?" Mira finished.
Makarov nodded. Mira was flabbergasted. She was not entirely ready for marriage, but maybe she was. All her friends and family were here, so was Laxus' friends and family.
"You can't do that, I haven't proposed!" Laxus said.
"So what are you waiting for? We have work tomorrow." Gildarts said, smiling at the couple.
Mira looked at Laxus. She almost fainted when he held her hands as he bent on one knee. He reached for his pocket and took out a red velvet box.
Lisana held her sister and Mira was thankful because she knew she was going to go down at any moment.
"I was planning on doing this tonight, but not to have a wedding right after, but we can't all be this blessed." He said to Mira.
Bickslow took the microphone, walked over to the couple and held up for Laxus to speak so everyone could hear.
"Mira, from the first moment I met you, I knew you were special." Many girls swooned while he spoke. "I had to make you mine and now that we are here, I want you to know how much I love you."
Mira began to cry.
"So would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" Laxus opened the box to reveal a rose gold princess cut Diamond ring. It was absolutely beautiful. The Diamond was a light peach color. It matched Mira in every way.
Mira bent down and kissed Laxus, while the crowd cheered. When they broke free from each other, he gently and caringly placed the ring where it belonged. It was perfect.
"Now, go upstairs and get ready for your wedding." Makarov announced.
He ordered Erza, Cana, Levy, Lisanna and Lucy to get Mira ready, while Bickslow, Freed, Natsu and Jellal got Laxus ready.
An hour later, Mira stared into the mirror that was right in front of her.
Was this me? She thought.
Mira had on an ivory strapless a-dress with a sweetheart neckline. The whole dress was lace. Elegant, but classy. It was beautiful.
"Wow, we work fast." Cana said proudly.
"Mira, you look gorgeous." Lucy said.
"I'm so happy for you." Levy said.
Mira smiled at her friends. Lisanna came over to her sister with tears in her eyes.
"The one that didn't believe in fairy tales is getting her happy ending." Her sister said as she passed her broach bouquet.
Mira looked back at herself in the mirror. "My happy ending," she said touching her belly.
She turned to her friends and said, "Does anyone have a pregnancy test on them?"
Elfman tried not to cry the whole time as he walked his sister down the aisle towards Laxus. Mira was grateful for having a brother like him. Freed and Bickslow stood next to Laxus, but Mira kept her eyes on him the entire time.
Mira noticed how they decorated the ballroom so fast. There was an archway, completely covered with roses, and a small orchestra playing beautiful classical music. There were white chairs in rows of three by six on each side, the edges decorated with ribbons.
Everyone's eyes were on hers. Anxiety and all emotions began to creep up on the white haired beauty. Maybe she still had time to run upstairs before she upchucks whatever else was in her stomach.
But when she got to the end of the altar, all feeling except for love was evident.
Makarov wanted to do the honors of marrying them, so he did. After Elfman kissed his sister's forehead, he joined Evergreen in the front room. Makarov began to greet everyone and continued to preach and praise the couple right in front of him. All Mira could do was think back to how this all started and realize that her and Laxus were meant to be.
"Mira, do you take this man as your lawful wedded husband?"
Mira nodded, "I do."
He turned to Laxus. "Do you take this woman-?"
"Yes, I do, hurry up old man."
The crowd began to laugh as Makarov scolded his grandson.
"Ahem! Well by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!"
And so they did kiss, and it was like it came out of a fairy tale.
A year later
Mira and Laxus were eating chocolate ice cream and watching some sports game on TV.
Laxus team lost once again.
"Shit! I think I'm going to switch teams." Laxus said.
Mira frowned at him.
"What?"
"No cursing in front of Janet!" Mira yelled as she looked over to her baby girl on her small rocking chair.
"She's only four months, she won't remember a thing."
Mira smacked Laxus new tattoo that he did when Janet was born.
"Owe! Mira, could you stop."
Mira only laughed. Laxus became such a huge softie ever since Mira told him about her pregnancy. She remembered as if it was yesterday, when after they kissed, she confessed to everyone and him that they were expecting. She never saw a grown man fall on the floor before, so it was interesting that it did happen.
"I'm sorry, you are on vacation and I'm here abusing you." Mira didn't really mean her apology.
Laxus rolled his eyes. "Do you even miss work?" he asked her.
"Well, I am going back next week when you vacation is over with. I'm surprised that boss gave me such a long maternity leave."
"You gave birth to his great-grandchild. He'll probably would have given you a year if you had asked him."
Mira smiled at her husband, then at her child. She loved being pregnant and becoming a mother. It was the greatest thing ever.
Mira was distracted, so she didn't noticed how Laxus slowly began to caress her body. When he reached her breasts, she gasped. It hurt more due to the milk.
"What are you doing? Janet is right here." Mira said.
Laxus smirked, mockingly. He grabbed Mira by her legs and wrapped it around his waist. He rose up from the couch and took Mira to their bedroom.
"The baby!" Mira pleaded, but Laxus was more focused on removing her shirt.
"She's fine, Janet likes T.V." Laxus said in between kisses.
Mira just gave up and let Laxus have his way. He was so imprudent. They just did it last night. Ugh, men.
Mira moaned as Laxus placed two fingers in her vaginal area.
"Damn, babe, already?" he said, referring to moistness.
Mira glared at him like there was no tomorrow, but whimpered when he removed the two fingers.
"No," Mira cried. She wanted more.
Laxus lifted one leg onto his shoulder and wrapped the other leg around his waist. Mira quickly helped him get rid of his pants and underwear.
He smiled at her, not a regular one; more of an "I'm so in love with you," one. Mira smiled back.
"I love you." she said then screamed his name as he entered her.
"I love you too," he said moments later when he released into her.
"If I become pregnant again, I will hurt you, Laxus Dreyar." Mira stated.
"Whatever you say, Mrs. Dreyar."
They lay in bed, cuddling. Something Mira refused to do so long ago. Mira began to drift to sleep before she heard a crying noise.
"Janet!" Mira called out.
Laxus forced Mira to lie back down.
"I got her, you rest." Laxus placed his clothes back on and went to sooth his baby girl.
Mira lay in bed loving all the aches he just gave her. Mira didn't believe in love…at first. But she finally gotten her happy ending through a corporate affair.
