And a week later a new chapter is posted... you're welcome! ;)

Chapter 7:

"Anyway, that doesn't matter right now. What's important is that we get to River's daughter." The Doctor stated, steering the conversation back to where it started.

The subject of the hidden floor was interesting but they couldn't waste too much time. Neither of The Doctors knew how long Donna's mind would stay stable, and they didn't intend on taking any risks with their best mate. If the others had noticed the change in subject they didn't comment on it.

"I agree." Said John.

"Well you would." Jackie grumbled.

"Eh hem." Came a noise from little Katie.

"Sorry – her eldest daughter. My apologies." The Doctor said, making amends. He seemed to be successful since he got a grin out of her and a little giggle.

River smiled. Even when he had no idea who Katie was – or who she was for that matter – he was still great with his daughter. Despite his worries, he was just naturally good with kids, and was an amazing father. Just like she always knew he would be.

"For once, The Doctor's right. It doesn't matter if we're on the second floor, or even the third floor, either way it's still a lot of floors to go up and they don't exactly have an elevator service here. We don't have long. The guards could be back any minute and I don't like our chances against at least 100 armed guards." River said worriedly.

"Yeah, me neither. Come on." The Doctor said, and started leading them towards the nearest staircase. Suddenly he realized what River had said before.

"Hey, wait a minute-"

"Oh for god's sake shut up will you! I'm about to go up thirteen flights of stairs!" Jackie snapped crossly.

"It really doesn't make much sense for an advanced alien high-tech lab to not have some other way to go up other than stairs."

"Yeah you'd think they would have some sort of elevator."

"Oi, all you lot do is complain. A little bit of exercise every now and then is good for you.

"Oi Spaceman – shut up!"

"Finally!" Donna complained.

After they climbed up THIRTEEN flights of stairs, they were all quite tired.

Other than the two Doctors of course. Somehow, neither of them was at all out of breath. One of them even offered little Katie a piggyback ride.

"Oomph, time to go down now." The Doctor said to Katie.

Katie giggled, "No!" she shouted.

"Well in that case there's only one thing to do." He started tickling her.

"Ahh! Stop it!" she squealed.

"Do you give up?

"Never!"

All the others, still out of breath from all the climbing, looked on at the two. It was an adorable sight to see.

The Doctor was still tickling her, and Katie's carefree childish laugh was almost contiguous. She just held on tighter and tighter around his neck until River finally stepped in from worry that The Doctor's face would start turning blue.

"Come on sweetheart. Off!" River laughed. Katie pouted but let go.

"Got a little monster there." The Doctor pointed at Katie and in response, she poked her tongue out at him. River laughed.

"Ok then, we're on floor 15. Where's my daughter?" River asked, getting serious again after she and The Doctor stopped laughing.

"She should be…" The Doctor licked his finger and held it up. "That way." He pointed to a direction and started walking there.

River, Rose and Donna exchanged exasperated looks, the kind of looks you get after traveling with The Doctor after a while.

Again, The Doctor used his psychic paper on the scanner to let him into a room.

The others followed him in, only to find themselves in yet another corridor. Suddenly an alarm went off.

"Alert, intruders in the south hall! I Repeat, intruders in the south hall."

"I'm guessing this is the south hall we just entered?" Rose asked.

"Yep!" Came her answer.

"I was afraid of that." Rose muttered.

They heard the sound of footsteps heading their way.

"And that's the security." Donna sighed.

"Any plans?" River questioned.

"Just the one: Run!"

The Doctor grabbed Donna's hand, John took Roses', Rose grabbed her mum's hand, and River tightened her grip on Katie. They ran around the corner, to see a long corridor full of loads of red laser beams blocking their way.

"Really?" River groaned.

The Doctor scratched his head. "Well this makes things a little bit harder."

Donna took the screwdriver and sonicked a machine on the wall to disable the beams.

"Come on." He called the others keeping watch.

They ran past where the red beams were previously. There was a door at the end of the corridor. Once again The Doctor tried to use his psychic paper on the door. But this time it didn't work.

"I can't get it open."

"Can't you use your sonic?" Donna cried out.

River called out through the door. "Jenny!"

"Mum!" A muffed, but obviously relieved voice called out.

"Jenny if you can hear me, we're coming for you."

"Doctor any luck on the door?"

The Doctor pointed the screwdriver at the door.

"Won't work, it's deadlocked." John exclaimed. River made an aggravated sound.

"Jen, listen to me, is there any way you can unlock the door?"

There was a sound of someone hitting the door.

"Uh uh." Came the negative response.

"Doctor, the controls." Rose reminded him.

Both The Doctor and John smacked their foreheads and ran back to where they were before. The others joined them.

"Come on!"

"Quickly!"

"We're trying!"

The Doctor and John worked like maniacs as they tried to unlock the door.

Though just as they managed to unlock the door, the laser beams reappeared.

"No!" A few voices called out at once.

"It'll take too long to disable them again." The Doctor said, hearing the blue aliens coming their way.

"Jenny!" Katie panicked. The Doctor and John winced at the name again.

"Guess I'll just have to manage on my own then. Watch and learn." A light and unusually-familiar voice came from beyond the laser beams.

There was a blur of blond hair and gymnastics as the unknown daughter made her way past the red beams by performing a series of back-flips and somersaults. Everyone stood there with their mouths gaping, other than little Katie and River, who had a proud look in her face.

As the blonde haired girl finished her last back flip, she fell into her mother's arms. River hugged her daughter as she laughed.

"That's my girl!"

"Jenny!" A little voice exclaimed. Jenny unwrapped herself from her mother and kneeled down to little Katie with a grin on her face.

"Hey squirt! Katie wrapped her arms around her sisters little form.

She then stood up and looked at The Doctor and John's frozen forms.

Wait. It can't be. She's dead. Is it really her? How can she be here? She's dead!

She smirked and said two words that shook them all.

"Hello dad."
