Rayford sat behind the wheel of the airplane. He stared out over the blue ocean with a worried look on his face.

"Hi Captain Steel," said Alesse. "I brought you some coffee."

"Hey, thanks." He pointed to an empty chair behind the pilot's chair. "Sit down for a second. I've been flying this plane for two hours and I'm pretty bored right now."

She sat down and sipped at her fat free peppermint mocha. She did not know what to say right now.

"So what's going on back there? With Catpathia, I mean," Rayford said.

"Well. He and his friends are all playing poker around a big round table that is coated in gold. The cards aren't like regular cards though one of them has a goat on it!"

Rayford looked scared and turned back to look at Alesse with his frightened face. "Really? You've gotta keep away from that game... it must be some sort of Satanic poker."

"I know! They are betting with bits of gold, not American money." Alesse shivered. "And they are smoking cigarettes and cigars and even something that I think might be a drug. And they are drinking lots of liquor and stuff. Also there are a couple of women on the plane who are dressed in mesh dresses and wearing extremely big shoes and lots of makeup."

Rayford leaned in closer to Alesse with a very serious face. He kept his voice very very quiet so that she could hear him only and nobody else.

"Alesse, you will be up close and personel with some serious, perverted sin." He swallowed. "Do not let it get to you. Just pretend you do not see it and pray to our ULTIMAT ELEADER. Remember we are the secret agents of Him."

"I know." She closed her eyes. "But it is very hard. I don't want to go back into there into that pit of sin."

"I know Alesse but think of your friends at New Hope who are counting on you! Zeb and Aidan and Chloe and Bruce! Our spying is what will help us bring the second coming. You have a difficult job probably the most out of all of us. But God knows you can do it."

She nodded. Thinking of all her friends and her church she felt a renewed strength string through her. She could do it! God was telling her so, clearly and loudly and strongly. She stiffened her back, stood, and went back into Nicolae's pit to pour more liquor and light more drugs.

Alesse had never been to Jerusalem. She had actually never been outside of Ontario, except for going shopping in the States - though that was pretty different in a lot of ways, especially with the snack foods like for instance you can't get Red Vines in Canada.

But Jerusalem wasextremely different than Canada and the USA. It was dry and hot and there was a lot of sand. There were Muslims there and also people who were Jewish. They all got off the plane and Alesse and Rayford got into a taxi car with a couple of Nicolae's servants. So she and Rayford could not speak openly and all they could really do was nod and smile as the servants said things like "Wow Nicolae is so great," and "Nicolae's plans are so totally amazing."

Finally they arrived at a university where Nicolae was meeting a guy named Rosenzwig. He was a doctor who invented some stuff that turned all the Jerusalem desert into farms. Alesse and Rayford were not invited in so Alesse sat in a university cafeteria nearby and drank a cream soda. She kept seeing a young curly haired guy watching her. She smiled at him and he smiled back. The curley haired guy walked over.

"Can I sit down?" He paused. "Oh - my name's Cameron Williams. I'm a journalist, I'm just waiting until President Carpathia and Doctor Rosenzwig are ready to see me. I'm here to do an exclusive interview with them for Global Weekly."

"Wow the big newspaper?" Alesse asked. "Of course you can sit down. I have never met a journalist before!"

"Really?" He sat down across from her and she noticed that he was having a cream soda as well. "I see you work for President Carpathia. You are wearing the GC symbol on your jacket."

"Oh yes well I am just the stewardess on his plane."

"Really? You must get to see him up close and personal! See his flaws!" Buck laughed. "But the president seems pretty flawless from what I have seen."

"Everyone has flaws, but people often hide their sin behind a nice face." Alesse blushed. "I guess I should not have said that."

"No I like honesty."

A GC servant walked over and tapped Buck on the shoulder. "The President and the Doctor are ready for you."

Buck stood. "It was nice meeting you Alesse."

"You too," she replied.

Alesse walked back to the plane. It started flying back to the UN. She heard a buzzing noise at the stewardesses coffee making bar.

"We need some drinks," she heard Nicolae's short voice.

She walked over, feeling way too unstable on tall high heeled shoes. Nicolae was not playing Satanic poker anymore, but was seated next to... Buck! Alesse gasped.

"Hi Buck! What are you doing here?"

"Ah, I see you know Mr. Williams." Nicolae frowned in annoyance. "I invited Mr. Williams to return to the United States with us on GC1."

Alesse bit her mouth to keep from gasping!
