Zuko has been staying with you and your family for a week now. You and Zuko have become good friends, but the more time you spend with him the more you like him. For the most part Zuko still has to stay in bed because his legs were bruised a bit worse than you thought but he's starting to walk again. Even the gash on his chest is starting to heal nicely.

That morning you trained with Daisuke and Kaito, none of you used your bending. Kaito used a long sword; Daisuke wielded a very large windmill shuriken and you used your dual swords. Afterwards daisuke and kaito went to the lake, while you stayed home to hangout with Zuko.

You were having one of your usual conversations when Zuko asked you an odd question.

"Kana did you ever think about leaving?" Zuko asked.

"What do you mean leaving?" you asked curiously.

"Like leaving here" zuko clarified.

"No, why would I leave? Its my home" you replied. "My friends and family are here" you added after a moment.

your heart sank, you recovering rather quickly and soon you'll be back on your ship and back to searching for the avatar. You were hoping that kana would consider coming with you. For some reason you thought that she might want to come with you.

"Kana!" your dad yelled from outside, he sounded slightly panicked.

"What?" you replied seriously as you stood up. zuko looked curious.

"Domon is here, something is wrong" your dad said, he was now inside the house.

"I'll be right back," you told zuko. You left a very confused zuko and walked into the living room where your parents stood near Domon who was sitting on the couch. He looked very freaked out almost traumatized. There was tears streaming down his face and he had a couple of scrapes and bruises.

"Domon what's wrong?" you asked in a soothing voice.

"They took them,...there gone! they...ki...killed them...everyone, the village!" domon yelled as he sobbed loudly.

Something very bad must have happened, you've never seen him like this.

"I'll get him some water," your mom said, then she walked into the kitchen

"Domon you have to calm down, when you tell us what's wrong, we'll be able to help you," you said soothingly.

Domon tried to calm down, your mom returned with the water and gave it to domon, he drank it quickly choking a little. He wiped his face.

"What's going on?" you asked.

"Fire Nation soldiers, docked, they started burning down all the water tribe and earth kingdom houses. Their taking all the benders. They're leaving all the fire nation people alone unless they get in the way. They took ike and yahigo." Domon paused to wipe his face again, and then he took a deep breath and continued. "My parents they tried to ...pr..Protect, Ike and Yahigo's families...they killed them" Domon began crying hysterically again. Domon shook violently, as you took a step back. "The fire nation soldiers killed my parents" Domon yelled.

"Domon you need to calm down and think rationally i know it hurts but you can grieve when we can relax" your dad said wisely. "Your parents were great people they will be remembered fondly"

"The soldiers are on their way here they want Daisuke and Kaito" Domon warned.

You took charge. "Mom, dad, take shelter underground, Domon you and Zuko should be ok because your obviously fire nation, I'll go find Kaito and Daisuke" you said.

And with that you ran out of the house to find your brothers before the fire nation soldiers do.

You heard the entire conversation. you couldn't believe that your father would allow this, but once it sunk in you thought it was very possible. Now all you can think about is kana and if she'll be ok. Kana's parents have left the house, you heard a few earth rattling noises. Domon was pacing around the house very loudly as he cried.

All this sort of reminded you of your mom and how much you cried. You pushed that thought from your mind and only thought of kana's safety. You slowly pushed yourself out of bed; you stood for a second before you fell. Slightly discouraged you tried again.
