I am awaken by somebody shaking my shoulder. I look up to see Jai smiling down at me. My head's tucked safely in the crook of Dannys neck.
"Hey. Thought I'd wake you up before someone notices." Jai says and I take note at how he's crouched in front of me as if blocking me from the world. Behind him the wolf that I believe is Paul turns to look our way his eyes piercing the sleeping form of Danny. I shuffle to the side so that I can wake him.
"Danny." I say shaking him a little. His arm grips my wrist eyes flicking open. His hand drops to his side and he gives me a sheepish look.
"Sorry it's a reflex." He says looking at Jai in irritation. "You're blocking my sight." He says poking Jai's chest. I hear a faint growl from the side but think nothing of it.
I sit by myself on an empty log as my pack runs around kicking the soccer ball. I feel someone else's presence next to me there body giving off its heat.
"Hi." A deep voice says and I turn to see the Paul guy looking at me. At least I think that's his name.
"Hi. Paul right?" I say and he nods before turning to watch the fire his eyes dancing across it in utter fascination. I study him for a split second in amusement before I turn back to look at the fire. The way it dances feels as if it pulls you in.
I look up at Paul and our eyes lock for a split second my insides feel like there melting. Then that seconds over as Danny calls out.
"Kade! Help! They're bullying me!" he whines and I can literally hear the pout in his voice.
I kick the ball towards Danny before I feel someone pick me up off the ground. I'm met with Austin's back as he takes off running.
"This is cheating." I say crossing my arms over my chest.
"Hey the views a win though right?" he asks as he runs past Paul and Sam. Paul looks more pissed than usual. Suddenly I'm yanked from Austin's grip and tossed up onto the person's neck. Danny.
"Only I can take my team member! You want to cheat, grab Vail or Jai." I watch as they all stop and pull disgusted faces.
"Do not THINK about touching me." Vail growls out walking back towards the soccer ball. Danny sets me down and we high five.
I plop down on a random person which turns out to be Austin.
"Hey there." He winks and I laugh shaking my head but relax into his chest.
"You're comfy." I say.
"Are you saying I'm fat?!" he gasps out.
"No. Just fluffy." I say smirking.
"I am not fluffy." He says hurt. He makes a 'hmph' noise.
"Race you to the car!" I yell to the boys before taking off towards Danny's truck.
"Shotgun!" Jai yells jumping for the door. He does a victory dance and is distracted from Danny who is closing in on him. Danny pushes Jai to the back door.
"Ladies first." He says opening the door for me. I turn to stick my tongue out before getting in the front seat.
