Klaus hadn't seen Elena or the Salvatore's in nearly a week, a week that he beat himself up. A week that he begged stabbing a stake into his heart would actually mean the death of him. He wanted to die, hell; every part of him felt as though he was dead.
He didn't have Elena.
He couldn't see her face in his dreams anymore instead he saw the tears running down her face, he heard the fear in her voice as she begged for Matt to be alive.
He hated knowing that the only reason Elena was back to her normal self was because of his torment. He wanted her to be underneath him, he wanted her to wake up next to him in the morning; to see her beautiful eyes before his.
I love her.
You did. And she probably would have loved you too if you hadn't of 'killed' Matt.
He fought with himself constantly, arguing that if he didn't do this. That if he did this. Hell, he went through all the possibilities yet he never got her in the end; she was always with those damn Salvatore's.
Killing the Salvatore's always seemed like the good idea but that never worked, it just always back fired at him. Maybe he didn't need Elena. Maybe the love he developed for her wasn't actually love at all; maybe it was instead just a phase. You don't fall for the enemy unless it's a fairy tale and this certainly was not.
Klaus finally let his feelings get the best of him and snuck into Elena's house and was quite thankful that one of the few times, that they fucked they happened to be inside her house. He walked into her room, sitting on her bed next to her as he caressed her face.
'I know you'll never love me.' It hurt saying those words because apart of his heart was actually starting to believe it, while the other half cursed at the thought of saying it.
He needed her. He wanted nothing more but to kiss her lips one last time, to feel her hand grip his bicep; to hear her moan his name. It drove him nuts.
'No, stop! Stop doing this to me!' Klaus shouted as he stood up shaking Elena up from the deep slumber she was in
'Klaus, what are you doing here?!' Elena shouted gripping the blankets tightly
'I'm sorry.' Klaus said unsure whether it was anger that made those words come out or sadness
To be honest, he was really sorry. He really did care about her. Elena could see it, but believing it was the problem for both. They both saw the good but neither could bring themselves to actually believe in it.
I'm going to write a new story or sequel if you will take; in Elena's point of view rather than Klaus. Now I must add, that I did never say that Elena and Klaus would wind up together it was just merely stated that the two will. I have no current plan as to whether or not Elena and Klaus will wind up in the end but hey, you never know. 3
