Liam, Barriss and Jacen were sitting in the courtroom of the Wizengamot. Sitting in the middle of the room, surrounded by Aurors, was Sirius Black. Black had been framed for murder by Peter Pettigrew, the man who betrayed Jacen's birth parents to Lord Voldemort. Black was framed for the betrayal, as well as the murder of Pettigrew, who had faked his death. Worst of all, the man was sent to prison without a trial, much to the ire of the Jedi. According to Dumbledore, several Death Eaters had escaped conviction by claiming to have been under the Imperius curse, which was a type of mind control. From what Liam and Barriss had gathered, the British magical government was extremely corrupt and the current Minister, Cornelius Fudge, was an inept coward. Given the current situation, the politician looked extremely nervous, undoubtedly thinking of how it would affect his career.

Half of the Wizengamot was in an uproar from Black's testimony under Veritaserum, a drug that compelled the drinker to speak truthfully. Dumbledore restored order by emitting a loud noise from his wand, a stick that contained magical energy and was required for using magic. Wandless magic was not impossible, but it was very rare. "In light of Mr. Black's testimony, I move that he be released from Azkaban and restored to his position in Wizarding society," Dumbledore declared, "The Ministry will, of course, pay him a hefty compensation and see to it that he makes a full recovery at St. Mungo's. All those in favor?" Everyone raised their wands, many of them in earnest, while others were simply trying to save face.

Sirius stood up and gazed at the crowd until his eyes fell on a certain black haired boy. The man froze and looked at Jacen. "H-Harry?" he choked out.

Liam stood up and walked over to Sirius. "You can see your godson later, Black," the Jedi said firmly, "Right now, you need to recover your strength. I doubt he wants to see you like this."

Sirius looked disappointed before nodding slowly, "Yes... I suppose you're right." The man was then escorted out of the courtroom by two Aurors.

Once Sirius Black had left the courtroom, Dumbledore asked if there was any further business to settle. "Hem hem." The family turned to see what had made the ridiculous noise and saw the most hideous woman in the galaxy. She was dressed in bright pink and vaguely resembled a Hutt. Mynocks looked better than she did. In addition, she positively reeked of evil. "It has come to the attention of the Ministry that Harry Potter has been adopted by a young couple," the creature said in a horribly high pitched voice.

"That is correct," Dumbledore confirmed, "I gave my personal consent to the adoption and named them the boy's new magical guardians."

"Well, carrying out my duties as Senior Undersecretary to the minister," the creature began, "I checked the record of the couple in question, and it would appear that the Ministry has no records of them whatsoever."

"Obviously, we are not from this country," Liam said, "Is there a problem with that?"

"Not at all," the pseudo-Hutt lied, "I have simply never heard of anyone in Wizarding society that bears your surname, Mr. Dorak. I took the liberty of researching through every prominent Wizarding family in the world." The creature then turned to address the Wizengamot, "I wonder if Mr. and Mrs. Dorak are qualified to raise a child, or if they are even magical." Liam and Barriss narrowed their eyes in anger, knowing exactly what this pathetic life-form was attempting.

"I can vouch for them," Dumbledore declared.

"Oh, I'm sure you can, Chief Warlock," the creature replied, "I took the liberty of casting a diagnostic spell on them and found that neither of them have a magical core. As a result, I do not believe they should be permitted to raise a magical child."

Before anyone could say anything, the pseudo-Hutt's wand flew out of her pocket and hovered in midair. Everyone turned to see Barriss holding her hand up. "No, we do not have magical cores," she said, "But, we have access to a power that is similar to magic." Everyone, save Liam, gaped in awe at what Barriss was doing. "As for *you," the Jedi said, turning to the evil creature, "I know what you are trying to do. Jacen is my son now. My husband and I have adopted him and he will live with us. If you *ever* try to take him from us again, you will regret it." Barriss proceeded to close her hand into a fist, and the creature's wand split asunder. Fudge gulped, shuddering at the thought of crossing someone who could perform what was essentially wandless magic with ease.

The wicked witch was about to speak when one of the members spoke up. "I fail to see how their family names or whether or not they are wizards bears any relevance to the matter," the woman said, "The law does not disqualify non-wizards from adopting magical children, so long as it is done with the consent of the child's magical guardians. I suggest we put a stop to this nonsense and let Mr. Dorak and his wife have custody of the boy."

"Finally," Liam thought, "someone who makes sense."

"All those in favor?" Dumbledore asked. A large number of people raised their wands. "All opposed?" the elder asked. A slightly smaller amount of people, including the pseudo-Hutt, raised their wands. "The majority wins," Dumbledore said cheerfully as he banged the gavel.

A few weeks after the trial, Sirius Black had almost made a full recovery and insisted on seeing the family, who now lived in Potter Manor. As Jacen's adoptive parents and magical guardians, Liam and Barriss had been granted access to their son's ancestral home, along with the Potter fortune. In the weeks following the trial, Jacen's training continued. He had recently began practicing lightsaber combat, despite not having his own weapon. Instead, he would use one of his parents' lightsabers, which had training configurations and adjustable blade sizes. Liam and Barriss, meanwhile, were learning everything they could about the planet. Despite the primitive technology, they were intrigued by the many different cultures and climates. They were put off by the Wizarding World, however, as its culture was backwards and xenophobic, to say nothing of the corrupt government. Nevertheless, Jacen was registered for Hogwarts and would have to go there for his magical education. They fought with Dumbledore about this, since they did not want their son to abandon his Force training. Fortunately, the parties reached a compromise: Jacen would go to Hogwarts, but could train with his parents on the weekends, along with any other Force-Sensitive students. In addition, he would be allowed to alter his school robes to look more like those of a Jedi. In this manner, he could embody the best of both worlds, so to speak.

Liam and Barriss, who chose not to wear her veil, waited at the fireplace until the flames erupted and briefly turned green. Out stepped Sirius Black, who was looking significantly better than when he was at the trial. "I don't think we were properly introduced," the wizard said as he extended his hand, "Sirius Black, but you knew that."

"Liam Dorak," the Jedi greeted as the two shook hands, "This is my wife, Barriss."

"Charmed," Black said, taking the Miralan's hand and kissing the back of it.

"My appearance does not trouble you?" Barriss asked neutrally.

"I don't believe in that 'non-humans are inferior' nonsense," Sirius answered with a dismissive wave, "Now, where's Harry, or should I say Jacen?"

"Before you see him, Lord Black, there is something we must discuss," Liam declared.

"Oh?" the wizard asked curiously as the Jedi offered him a seat. "Why didn't you raise Jacen after his birth parents died?" Barriss asked pointedly.

Sirius frowned and looked at the floor guiltily. "I wasn't thinking," he admitted, "My best friend and his wife were dead, and I knew who was responsible. I wanted to find Pettigrew and make him pay. I can see that I was being stupid."

"You let your anger and lust for vengeance control you," Liam said, "As a result, you were imprisoned and your godson was left with abusive relatives."

"Yes, I know," Sirius said dejectedly, "Truth be told, I don't even deserve to see him."

Liam stood up and put a hand on the man's shoulder. "You made a terrible mistake," he began, "But, you cannot let it drag you down. You have to forgive yourself."

"Trust me, I know," Barriss said, "You can't let your mistakes consume you. Doing so only leads to despair and darkness."

"I understand," Sirius said.

"Good," Liam said, "Now, I believe you wanted to see your godson? We need someone to tell him about Magical customs, since he's a future lord."

The three adults went to the room where Jacen was practicing his katas. The boy stopped upon hearing them come in, and turned to face them. "Jacen?" Sirius asked gently, "Do you remember me?" Jacen stared intently at the wizard, searching through his memories. This was easier to do during meditation. Eventually, the boy found what he was looking for and his eyes widened, "Pa'foo?"

Well, Sirius Black is out of prison and reunited with his godson. The Wicked Witch of the Pink has been introduced, being put in her place by Barriss. We haven't seen the last of her, though. Rest assured, she will die a very painful death.

And now for the poll question. Which house should Jacen Potter-Dorak be sorted into?
