Hey fellas! I finally had some free time! I'm really sorry that this chapter is short (I hate short chapters too), but hey! It's better than nothing at all! School sucks right now and I'm really trying to get through it...I'll need lots of chocolate...it's a girls best friend after all. Anyway, I got a review or two that said I should have Stellar more involved with the plotline of the movie and I really do appreciate all of your advice, so I tried doing that. I'll try to finish the story soon! I promise! Enjoy!

I may have not known Drax for very long, but seeing him about to take on Ronan by himself while intoxicated was enough to almost give me a heart attack.

What the hell was Drax thinking?!

I knew that Drax had told me his wife and child were cruelly killed by this Ronan character, and based off of the man's appearance, he seemed to be the heartless dictator that did not care of regard for any life of others around him. As I gazed at Ronan with wide eyes, I knew that shit was about to go down, and that he wouldn't even hesitate to kill Drax. People ran past us as soon as they recognized Ronan, hoping to make it out alive if they left Knowhere quickly enough. Despite being angry with Drax that he led Ronan to our location, I didn't want him to die because he was my friend who was in grief for the loved ones he lost. I could scold Drax later, but I knew I needed to do something or else he would die. I moved forward on my shaking legs, taking a deep breath as I knew what I had to do what was necessary despite my odds of living. I felt a wooden hand on my shoulder, planting me firmly where I was. I glanced back at Groot, the expression on his face being deadly serious for once despite his happy-go-lucky nature.

"I am Groot." Groot told me worriedly.

"I know this is probably a really bad idea...like a really bad one, but I can't just stand by and let Ronan kill Drax. I don't know him well, but I consider him my friend. And I refuse to watch my friends die while I stand by and do nothing when I could have helped prevent it. I am done standing by and being a liability." I told Groot.

Groot looked over at Drax and his drunken state yielding a weapon against Ronan. Groot sighed before letting his hand drop from my shoulder, giving me a nod of understanding.

"I am Groot." He smiled faintly.

"Thanks buddy. Feel free to jump in at anytime if I'm near the brink of death." I tried joking.

I gave Groot a pat on the arm as I tried to smile, but it wasn't long before my smile faded as my legs gave out and I fell to my knees.

STOP SHAKING! MOVE IT! NOW!

"I am Groot!" Groot looked at me in concern.

I stood up again and took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry, my legs are still a little weak. I'll be okay though, I promise. Try not to worry too much." I let out a nervous chuckle.

NOW RUN!

I ignored the pain in my body and began sprinting towards Drax and Ronan.

Please don't let me regret this.

Remembering about my guns that I had hidden away, I took them out from my holsters on both of my thighs as I got ready to fire at Ronan. I wasn't a confident person, but at this moment, I could pretend to be. I tried thinking of what Peter or even what Rocket would do at a time like this, and for the first time in my life, I acted first and asked questions later.

"Bring it on, bitches!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.

I jumped as high as I possibly could, landing on Drax's shoulders before pushing off, and evidently pushing him back and away from Ronan which had been my main goal. I didn't hesitate as I shot at Ronan, not giving him a chance to react in time before I got several hits on him. I kicked out my leg before landing on the ground, and managed to get a good strike to Ronan's face which caused him to stumble backwards. After landing in front of Drax, he sat up and glared at me angrily, but I wasn't about to put up with his behavior after what he just did.

"Why did you do that?!" Drax yelled at me. "I had him!"

I sent Drax a threatening glare, and almost immediately, his mouth had snapped shut from surprise.

"I could seriously hurt you right now for pulling a stunt like this, but I won't. Now help me take him down, damn it." I nearly growled.

At this, Drax nodded and quickly moved until the two of us were standing side-by-side together. Finally, Ronan was able to collect himself and moved forward as he wiped blood from his face and looked at me in curiosity.

"And just who are you?" Ronan questioned me.

Again, I tried to pretend I was this fierce and powerful woman much like Gamora, as I tried to look unimpressed with Ronan.

"Stellar Quill. Sister of Peter Quill. Woman who will kick your ass. Need I go on?" I raised an eyebrow.

At this, Ronan stared at me in surprise that I looked unfearful of him and barked out a laugh at this. That was when Drax and I charged at Ronan together, attacking him as quickly as we could which had proved to be quite difficult. Ronan moved almost gracefully, dodging our attacks swiftly and smoothly and was able to hit us back just as hard if not harder. I could tell that Drax was only becoming frustrated and tired, and Ronan exploited this as well as used this towards his advantage. Using his large staff, Ronan landed a hit on Drax, sending him several feet away and rendering him unconscious at the moment. Before Ronan was able to focus on me, I reloaded my blasters, setting one of them to stun before I aimed for his eyes and blinded him temporarily. Ronan screamed in anger as his arm went up to his face, allowing me the opportunity to land several attacks and strikes on him. I then ran towards Ronan at full speed, ready to use a finishing blow as I changed the settings to my blasters again.

"I will not allow myself to be taken out by the likes of you!" Ronan hollered at me.

Unexpectedly, Ronan caught me with one hand by the throat and lifted me into the air as he squeezed hard. My eyes widened as I struggled for air, clawing and kicking at his arms.

Shit! I can't die...not...not like this. Not by the hands of this monster.

"You...what is your real name? You look almost...like him." Ronan lowered his voice dangerously.

Him? Him who?!

I gave him a look of confusion and fear before giving him a defiant glare and spat in his face..

"Fu...Fuuuuck. Yoo...ooouu." I breathed out.

"Very well then." Ronan replied almost calmly.

Ronan continued to hold me by the throat as he moved to pick up Drax by his leg, dragging the both of us towards a tub filled with some sort of yellow liquid.

"Those who fight together, die together." Ronan spat at us.

I was thrown into the vat of yellow liquid before I could even blink, struggling for air as my lungs were filled with this liquid. I could make out Drax's form as my vision blurred, before everything faded to black.

My eyes widened when I felt something prod and stab my chest once more like earlier. I sat up at lightning speed before I was throwing up yellow liquid on the ground beside me, and watched Groot with wide eyes as he proceeded to recitate Drax as well.

"I am Groot." Groot smiled.

"What a wonderful time to step in Groot." I sighed lightly. "Thank you though..."

Drax coughed up yellow liquid just as I had moments before as we all saw a small spacecraft land right near us. My breath caught in my throat before I saw Rocket climb out and nearly sighed in relief. When I failed to see Peter and Gamora with Rocket, I could feel my heart racing instantly as I feared the worst.

"Blasted idiot! They're all idiots!" Rocket grumbled.

"Rocket?" My voice wavered.

Where's Peter?! And Gamora?!

"Rocket! What happened?" I asked worriedly.

"Quill just got himself captured! That's what happened!" Rocket growled.

After glancing at me, he gave me a look of disgust and stepped back in caution.

"Why the hell are you covered in yellow goop?" Rocket asked in confusion.

"Well when a homicidal dictator tries to drown you in a vat of said yellow liquid..." I trailed off, rolling my eyes at Rocket.

At this, Rocket's eyes widened in shock before he gave me an apologetic look.

"Shit. I'm sorry, sweetheart. You're alright though? Nothing broken?" Rocket asked.

"Yeah." I breathed out.

Then Rocket turned towards Drax, giving him an angered look as he pointed at him.

"Y'know, none of this would have happened if you didn't try to single-handedly TAKE ON A FRIGGIN' ARMY!" Rocket hollered.

Rocket stood there panting heavily, and we all expected Drax to get defensive, but instead, he gave us a defeated look before nodding in agreement which none of us had expected from him given his stubborn nature.

"You are right." Drax murmured softly.

I looked at Drax in complete shock for admitting his faults and found his act almost noble considering that he was taking the blame rather than shifting it on someone else.

He's usually a stubborn guy...

"I was a fool...all the anger. All the rage...was just to cover my loss." Drax bowed his head in shame.

"Oh boo hoo, my wife and child are dead!" Rocket mocked.

Groot and I gasped simultaneously and looked at Rocket in disbelief.

"That's...y- -you can't just say that!" I stammered.

"I am Groot!" Groot shouted.

"I don't give a shit if I'm bein' mean! Everyone's got dead people! It's not an excuse to get everyone else killed along the way!" Rocket yelled angrily.

Drax fell silent at Rocket's statement, looking as if he was actually contemplating his words. I, however, found myself nearly having a panic attack every time Rocket chose to ignore my question about Peter and Gamora. After another minute, I found myself snapping at Rocket for once.

"Rocket!" I snapped. "Where are Peter and Gamora? Tell me...please." I gave him a pleading look.

Rocket turned away, refusing to look at me before reluctantly answering my question at last.

"They're fuckin' gone. Yondu's got them." Rocket muttered.

I fell to my knees in shock as I took in Rocket's words, my heart nearly skipping a beat.

I can't...what do I do? Oh no...

Rocket moved over towards Groot, gesturing him to follow as he began to walk away in defeat.

"Come on Groot. Ronan has the stone. The only chance we got is to get to the other side of the universe as quickly as we can and maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to live full lives before Ronan gets there." Rocket said.

Rocket paused when he noticed that Groot wasn't following him for once, and then gave me a saddened look.

"Listen...Stellar. If you want, you can come with us." Rocket offered.

Groot huffed angrily before he walked over to me, helping me up and putting a hand on my shoulder as he gave Rocket a defiant look.

"I am Groot." Groot grumbled.

"Save them?! How?!" Rocket shouted in disbelief.

"I am Groot." Groot glared at Rocket.

"I know they're the only friends we ever had!" Rocket snapped. "But there's an army of Ravagers around them! And there's only two of us!"

"Excuse me? What the hell am I to you guys exactly?" I scoffed. "Stop treating me like I don't matter! I thought you'd understand more than anyone, Rocket."

"Okay, three of us!" Rocket snapped.

"Four." Drax stood up.

At this Rocket pulled and yanked at his fur and his ears before going completely bonkers, going over to a patch of grass on the ground and kicking it repeatedly.

"UUUUUGH! YOU'RE...MAKING...ME...BEAT...UP...GRASS!"

"Come on, guys. We've got friends to save." I perked up.

"This is the worst plan ever..." I sighed and shook my head.

"Well you weren't coming up with anything..." Rocket defended.

"You're serious right? I gave you so many ideas that DID NOT involve blowing up the ship Peter and Gamora are on! Don't give me that crap!" I glared at him.

"Have I ever told you that you look hot when you're angry, babe?" Rocket smirked.

My face heated up and I looked away from Rocket feeling absolutely flustered from his statement. Rocket tuned into Yondu's frequency before speaking up, looking ready to kick all sorts of ass.

"Attention idiots! The lunatic on top of this craft is holding a hadron enforcer! A weapon of my own design." Rocket smiled smugly. "If you don't hand over our companions now, he's going to tear your ship a new one. A very big new one! I'm giving you to the count of 5!"

"Oh no..." I put my hand over my face.

"5! 4! 3- -"

"ROCKET! It's me! Peter! For god's sake we figured it out! We're fine! CALL IT OFF!" Peter's voice yelled from the radio.

"Oh...hey Quill. What's going on?" Rocket asked nonchalantly.

I stood up and came over to the microphone, pushing Rocket out of the way as I grew worried about Peter once more.

"HEY!" Rocket cried out.

"Peter?! You're okay?!" I blinked away tears.

"I'm fine, Stellar!" He replied.

When the two of us encountered each other again, I gladly jumped into Peter's arms, feeling so happy and full of relief that Yondu had spared him. Peter had held me like I was almost his lifeline, like if he'd let go that we would both die. I, luckily, kept my emotions in check, refusing to cry at a time like this. Finally after minutes of our embrace, Peter pulled away, his eyes widening drastically when glancing down at my neck.

"Okay so...what happened to your neck?" Peter asked hesitantly.

"Let's just say that after 'dumb dumb' over here called Ronan and his forces, I tried helping him." I gestured to Drax. "We put up a good fight against Ronan for about twenty five minutes before he tried drowning us. Speaking of which...I'll need a shower."

"Wait...you fought against Ronan?" Peter asked in disbelief.

"I lived..." I smiled sheepishly.

"Only because Groot saved your ass, sweetheart." Rocket pointed out.

"You're really testing my patience, Rocket." I grumbled.

At this, Rocket raised his hands up in defense and backed away slowly, a teasing grin forming on his face.

"You're still hot when you're angry, babe." He winked at me.

My face grew warm again as I looked away from Rocket. Eventually, after briefly catching up with each other, we all sat down in a huddled little circle after Yondu left us to our own devices. Peter began explaining everything that occurred when they were first captured by Yondu, and then proceeded to tell us that we'd need to take the orb back from Ronan. Peter's suggestion as noble as it was, was nearly insane considering how he'd almost killed me and Drax so easily by himself.

"You call that figured out?!" Rocket yelled. "We're gonna rob the guys who just literally beat us senseless?!"

"You wanna talk about senseless? How about trying to save us by blowing us up?!" Peter retorted.

"We were only gonna blow them up if they didn't hand you over!" Rocket defended.

"How on Earth were they supposed to do that when you only gave them to the count of five?!" Peter glared at Rocket.

"We didn't have time to work out the minutia of the plan!" Rocket snapped. "This is what we get for thinking optimistically."

"I am Groot." Groot folded his arms.

"They are ungrateful!" Rocket agreed.

"What's important right now is that we get the Ravager's army to help us save Xandar!" Gamora spoke up.

"So we can give the stone to Yondu? Who's just gonna sell it to somebody even worse?!" Rocket scoffed.

"We'll figure that out later." Peter told us.

"We have to stop Ronan!" Gamora said desperately.

"I have a plan!" Peter perked up.

"You have a plan?" Rocket raised an eyebrow.

"Yes." Peter nodded.

"First of all, you're copying me from when I said I had a plan." Rocket pointed out.

"No I'm not!" Peter argued. "People say it all the time! It's not that unique of a thing to say!"

"Secondly, I don't even believe you have a plan!" Rocket folded his arms together and smiled smugly.

"I have...part of a plan!" Peter then said.

Oh dear...

"What percentage of a plan do you have?" Drax joined in.

"You don't get to ask questions after the nonsense you pulled on Knowhere!" Gamora snapped at Drax.

"I just saved Quill!" Drax looked hurt.

"We've already established that blowing up the ship I'm on isn't saving me!" Peter sighed in frustration.

"When did we establish this?" Drax asked in confusion.

"Like three seconds ago!" Peter snapped.

"I wasn't listening, I was thinking of something else." Drax muttered.

Drax clapped his hands together and stared at the ceiling in deep thought.

"She's right, you don't get an opinion." Rocket pointed at Drax before giving his attention back to Peter. "What percentage?"

"I don't know...about twelve percent..." Peter hesitantly replied.

At this, Rocket gave Peter a look of surprise before he abruptly threw his head back and howled with laughter.

"Twelve percent?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

"That's a fake laugh!" Peter glared at Rocket.

"It's real!" Rocket ceased his laughter with a smile.

"Totally fake!" Peter argued.

"That is the most real, hysterical, authentic laugh in my entire life because that is not a plan!" Rocket assured him.

"It's barely a concept." Gamora mumbled.

"You're on their side?!" Peter looked at Gamora in disbelief.

"I am Groot." Groot mumbled.

"Thank you! Thank you Groot." Peter patted Groot's shoulder. "You see? Groot's the only one of you that's got a clue!"

Groot was caught chewing a leaf on his shoulder, causing Peter to hide his face with his hand in embarrassment.

"Guys...we've gotta stop fooling around." I finally spoke up.

I stood up from my spot as everyone's eyes were currently on me, and I continued talking, after hearing no one protest whatsoever.

"Peter said that Yondu is gonna come back any minute to hear this spectacular plan of ours. We've gotta do this. You know when I look around at you guys, you know what I see? Losers."

Everyone gave me a look of confusion, unsure of what I meant.

Shit, well...roll with it, I guess...

"I mean...people who've lost stuff." I clarified. "And we have. All of us have lost something...our homes, our families, normal lives. Usually life takes more than it gives, but not today. Today it's given something. It's given us a chance." I told them.

"To do what?" Drax mumbled softly.

"To give a shit, pardon my language." I coughed and blushed. "For once, and to not run away." I continued. "I for one, am not standing by as Ronan wipes out billions of innocent lives. I'm never going to stand by and watch something that horrific take place knowing that I could have helped prevent it." I grew serious.

"Look...Quill...you're asking us to die." Rocket barely whispered.

"I guess I am, Rocket. But I think it'd be worth it because in the long run, our sacrifice to save the galaxy won't be in vain. We can actually make a difference."

I let my words sink in and for five minutes there was nothing but pure silence as tension had filled the room. Finally, Gamora stood up and stared at me with respect before she spoke up

"Quill...I have lived most of my life surrounded by my enemies. I would be honored to die among my friends." Gamora told me.

I stood there in shock at Gamora's statement.

She just...called me her friend...

Peter walked over to me and put his hand on my shoulder in support as he gave me a warm smile.

"You know I've always got your back." Peter said.

"Stellar...you and your brother are honorable people. I will fight beside you as I did before. And in the end...I will see my wife and daughter again..." Drax cracked a small smile.

"I am Groot." Groot stood up as well.

All eyes went to Rocket and he seemed irritated, and confused, almost as if he didn't know what to decide.

"Ah what the hell? I don't got that long a lifespan anyway..." Rocket gave in and stood up as well. "Now I'm standing! Happy? We're all standin' in a circle...like a bunch of jackasses."

Everyone gave me an odd look as I suddenly bursted out into hysterical laughter as I found Rocket's comment to be hilarious.

"What? Don't tell me that what he said wasn't funny." I giggled. "I needed that laugh today..."

Ah...we're all gonna die. :D

I was thinking of Megamind when I said at the end 'We're all gonna die', I apologize for that. God Megamind is such a good movie...Anyway! I hope you enjoyed the chapter! If not, then I'll try to do better in my free time next chapter! Thank you guys for being so supportive. I'll try to update as quickly as I can!
