Author Note: HI. Sorry it took so long to write this. I have been busy with life and things. I have had family problems that have effected my schooling, work, and life. The simple story is that my sister is a junkie (she is getting better at the moment). She was doing IV heroin and she was being neglectful/abusive to my niece (around three at the time I type this), who I love like a daughter (what my dad and mom say). My mom and step-dad payed for my sister to go to a program after she stole money from my mothers bank account. She tricked mom by saying she might be pregnant and asked for her debit card to pay for a test. Makes me sick that she did that. Now mom finally understands that it isn't healthy for anyone if my sister lives with us. And the program she went to is basically a month long resort stay where she can spend all day by the pool. It is kind of messed up. She hasn't had a job in a year, does drugs and other horrible things, then she gets sent on a vacation. I know it sounds like I don't know how bad addiction can be, but she has been mentally abusive and it is hard to feel bad for someone who treats you like a chair, just there for her to use.
So yeah, my life is kind of full at the moment, but don't worry. I will not abandon these stories. I enjoy working on them. Might take longer for updates though.
Anyway, the first part of this story might seem a little out of place in the beginning here and seem like it should go to the end of the last chapter. There is a reason I did this. I ended the last where it seemed the best to me. This little scene is something I wanted to add, but didn't feel like it was a good ending. And I'm adding it now because I just wanted the scene and couldn't get it out of my mind. I like how it came out.
I was watching the X-men: Evolution cartoon for a few facts when I noticed something. In the series, the students share rooms. (Kurt and Evan, Kitty and Rogue). I had Charles say in the first chapter when Gwen gets her room that all the students get their own rooms while they have the space. This goes against the show. I just think that since the mansion is so big that the students should get their own rooms while they still have the space.
Now onto the poll I posted. For a long time no one voted, but I see that 13 people (including myself) have voted. I'm glad some people are voting. It helps me. I hope more people vote though. I know that this story has more followers than that, so please vote. Now here are the results so far (when I last checked on 8/31/14):
Michael Morningstar and Poison Ivy (6 votes).
Clayface, Breach, Hot-Streak, and Clancy (4 votes).
Puff, Boom Boom, and Jack Spicer (3 votes).
Circe, Inque, Dee Dee, Jinx and Rubber-Band Man (2 votes).
Sauron, Shiv, Angel Salvadore, Aquamaria and Brickhouse (1 vote)
Le Mime (All with 0 votes)
I wish I could have them all in the story, but only need four at the time. . . . . They all might show up later.
Thanks and if you read this story please vote.
Reviews
ultima-owner: Thanks. I'm glad the skull looks cool. It is going to have a big part in the story.
10speed12: I'm not sure. (Striking a thinking pose). I wasn't thinking about the Kevin mutation thing. I have an idea, but I'm not sure if it will work. I'm just curious, are we talking about Rouge touching Ben when he is in an alien form, when he is human, or Rouge touching the omnitrix? I have an idea what will happen when each case happens. Shot me a message and we can talk about this more if you want. Bouncing ideas off of other people helps to make the story better.
remisolleke: Thanks. I'm happy you really like it.
Guest 6/27/13 . chapter 6: I will.
The Powah: Okay, I know that but as I said the story is like an fusion of the Ben Ten universe and the X-men Evolution universe (leaning more on the X-men part.) So yeah, they are born on the same day in the pure Ben 10 universe, but this isn't that universe, so some things are going to change . . . like them being born on the same day. It will be explained later in the story. . . . in a flashback. Think of it as the X-men Evolution universe with parts from Ben 10 added to it.
Guest 7/8/13 . chapter 6: Thanks. Sorry about not updating so fast, but I take great care in my stories and it takes me time to create. Also, I am bouncing back and forth between my two stories because after working on a story for so long, I just need a break and I don't want this to become a job. This is fun. And on top of that my life is getting . . . . more complicated recently. I'm really involved in my niece's life. I have become a primary care giver. It's weird. I never thought I would have a little one so dependent on me. I'm also going back to school. I took one class and I found it so hard to keep up. I had no time between work and school. I wish I didn't have to sleep, so I had more time.
Guest 9/5/13 . chapter 1: I'm not confirming that and if it is him (not that I'm saying it is) then I'm not saying what happened. . . . for now. You will find out what happened to the creature in later chapters.
Guest 10/22/13 . chapter 6: Yes, he did screw up. But it is more than that. Jean is more upset about what happened than mad at Scott. She was making a connection with someone that she could feel the emotional scars of. She is upset that her chance to help the creature was ruined. She feels that Scott didn't trust her.
Taeniaea: Thanks. I just wish I could update quicker, but between work, family, the shit my sister is dragging us through, and school, I just can't find the time to work on this. I know you didn't ask about this. I just wanted to say this. Sorry for rambling a little.
kyuuryuu13: I'm not saying the create is or isn't Ben. You will find out later. If you don't like what has happened to the creature so far, you are going to be upset with a scene coming up in few chapters.
DigiSim chapter 1 . 5/7/2014: DAMN IT. I realized Graydon Creed was fathered by Sabretooth, but I didn't know Mystique was the mother. This is something I have to think about. I thank you for pointing this out for me. I have some ideas I can deal with this. Graydon could be mothered by someone else (I like this one). I could change my story intro (I don't like this). I could have Graydon not exist (I don't like.) I could do nothing about it. The intro says, and I'm quoting myself, that "We all know Mystique had two children in her life. . . . . ." This could be taken to mean that Mystique had two children involved in her life. The words read that she birthed two children, but that wasn't what I meant. Plus she didn't give birth to Rogue so Mystique birthing those children isn't what the sentence means. What I meant was that she had children in her life that she wanted. She wanted Kurt that is want I'm going for. She wanted Rogue for her power, but I plan to have it to be deeper than that. She didn't want Graydon. I did a little research. He was promptly given away after birth. She did keep an eye on him, but I don't think she cared about him. The abandonment from his mutant parents is why he hates mutants. So I have ways to deal with this. I really don't have to think about this for a LONG time. Also I think the intro sounds better with including the children that I have more original plans. Graydon isn't really going to ever be mentioned until I get to that part so he has no effect on the current plot. I am most likely going to change his mother. But I thank you for pointing out this possible future issue. Just thinking about this I think I know what I'm going to do with it.
Snorlax Motive: Thanks for loving the story. I'm sorry it has been so long. But life got in the way. Family issues and I just lost my job so I have to look for a new one.
Mercenry4life: Something bad. Drama makes it more interesting. Thanks for following. I hope I don't disappoint. I know that feeling. Reading a good story and then the author takes a turn and the story looses its fun and enjoyment.
ken 10 chapter 6 . Jun 13: Thanks and I will continue working on it.
guest chapter 6 . Jun 25: Not giving up on this story. Life just got in the way. In fact, I spent so much time on this story that my mom yells at me about it.
somebody chapter 6 . Jun 29, Jul 2, Jul 5: I'm just going to assume that all of the guest/somebody reviews are from the same person, so I'm replying to them together. Thanks for loving the way I made the characters. I'm not ending the story, but I have had problems in my life. I know that it has been a year, but I'm trying. Just because you don't get a chapter when you ask for one doesn't mean I'm ending this story. I'm working on this as much as I can. I'm going to be honest and say that I'm almost feel like I'm being harassed by your reviews. I almost want to disable anonymous reviews because of you. I'm sorry it is taking so long, but I have a life outside of this you know. And I have been having issues. My sister is a druggy so I have been watching my niece. She has caused me pain and will never EVER acknowledge it. She even said that any issues I have with her are my own problem. I'm in school and struggling with classes. I recently lost my job and I have big bills. I'm worried and looking for a job. Now that I have no job, everyone assumes I should do all kinds of stuff with them. So if it takes longer for a chapter to come out I'm sorry. Sorry for ranting, I just have a lot on my plate and I guess I just took it out on you. I almost feel like I don't have the right to do anything fun because I don't have a job.
Guest chapter 6 7/11/14: Thanks for following. There will be more.
Guest chapter 6 8/11/14: Thanks for the review. I'm glad you love the story and how it is going. Sorry for taking so long for the next part.
Speaking: "Why is this taking so long?"

Physic Speaking: "Remember to pick up milk at the store."

Omni Evolution Chapter 7: Stolen Breakfasts
The creature was buzzing around in his green insect form, looking for a place to rest for the night. He stopped for a moment when he saw a house that looked abandoned. He flew over to a sign in front of the house. The sign looked old and uncared for. It was still legible, but the creature had trouble reading the sign and it had nothing to do with his current form. He was getting so frustrated by his lack of reading skills that he almost changed to one of his smarter forms. But he didn't. He could feel that he had maybe one more change before he was completely drained of energy. So he landed in front of the sign and tried to sound it out.
After a while, the creature thought he knew what the sign said. "The Brotherhood of Bayville Boarding House." His voice had a distinct insect quality to it. It also sounded a bit sticky like he was gurgling something. "I wonder what that means?" He didn't know what a couple of the words meant. Deciding that it didn't matter, he flew up and landed to the right of the first floor's large bay window. From under his hood, four eye stocks came out. They were basically small tentacles with a black coloration on the ends. The tip of each limb had a glowing bright green eye.
The creature used his flexible eyes to look inside the house while staying out of sight.
=========================Inside the Brotherhood's House=========================
The room on the other side of the window was large and wide open. It was also completely trashed. There was a large fireplace. Parts of the ceiling were chipped and missing. There was trash on the floor. The wallpaper was peeling. All the famed pictures on the walls were crooked. There was a ratty looking purple couch in front of the large bay window with purple curtains. Matching chairs were placed around the room.
Basically the place was just one huge mess.
The Brotherhood members were just hanging out and watching an old TV sitting on top of a crate. There was a scary movie playing that Todd had convinced the guys to watch with him.
Fred was sitting in the middle of the old couch, surrounded by piles of junk food. He was shoving handfuls of food into his mouth as he watched the movie. He was enjoying the movie. On the far right of the couch was Todd. He was sitting like a frog and nervously chewing on his nails as he watched the TV.
Lance and Pietro had each taken a seat in a purple chair. They looked a bit bored with the movie and weren't really paying attention to it. Pietro was fidgeting like he was going to get up and find something to do. The two teens never planned on watching the movie. In fact, you couldn't tell it, but they were actually paying more attention to Todd. The only reason they agree to watch the movie was because they knew that he would get scared and jumpy. They were hoping to see and hear Todd scream like a little girl, even if they had to do something to scare him.
================================Back Outside================================
"Well . . . I guess I'm not going to be able to rest here," the creature thought as he watched the four teens. He was surprised when he heard a car driving up and park in front of the house. Luckily, it was dark enough that he could go unnoticed if he stayed still. The only problem now was that he was stuck there until whoever in the car left or went inside the house.
Moving slowly, the creature looked over with his two left eye stocks while keeping the right two looking inside.
He saw that a green muscle car with two back stripes had pulled up. The engine turned off and a muscular young man with a choppy mullet stepped out of the car.
Looking up at the house, Kevin said "I really have to rethink my living options . . . . Why did that blue skinned woman have to say that living here was part of the deal." Sighing, Kevin decided it was a small price to pay for what he was getting from Mystique. "Maybe I should sleep in my car, it would be a little cramped, but at least I wouldn't have to deal with that toad kid's smell."
Walking up the front porch's stairs, Kevin stopped at the front door. "What is that smell?" he asked while covering his noise. He waved his hand in the air in an attempt to push the foul smell away.
The creature stiffened when he heard that. He knew this form smelled really bad and that the stink sometimes gave his location away.
"Toad's smell is getting so bad that it's leaking through walls," Kevin said. "I really hope it doesn't rub off on me, I'd hate for people to think I smelt like a open sewer." He opened the door and walked inside, unintentionally slamming the door behind him.
Releasing a sigh of relief, the creature turned his attention back to the inside of the house. "I wonder who this Toad person is." He suppressed a chuckle. "It must be horrible to live with someone that smells that bad. . . At least I can change forms and not smell."
================================Back Inside================================
Just as Pietro was about to run up and scare Todd, the front door did the job for him.
The sound of the door slamming closed surprised the nervous toad. He let loose a high pitched scream, jumped to the side and collided with Fred. The food on the couch was crushed. Some of it was thrown to the floor and what hadn't fallen was smeared into slimy paste on the fabric of the couch, Fred's side and all over Todd's front. Fred had also been holding a bag of popcorn when the crash happened. The bag went flying and landed on Fred's head, covering him in popcorn.
Lance and Pietro instantly started laughing at what happened.
Hearing the laughter, Fred normally would have gotten angry and started throwing things, but he knew that they were just ribbing each other. Wiping the popcorn off and standing up, Fred said "Toad, What is your deal? You just trashed my food." He saw that some of the food was smeared into his pants and wasn't coming off. "Now I have to change my overalls." He sounded angry and gave Todd a mad look. It was mostly because his food was wasted.
"Man, I didn't mean to do it, it was an accident," Todd said. His voice had the tone of a gangster thug. "Do you think I wanted to be covered in slop." He gestured at his food covered face and clothes. It was even in his hair.
Sighing, Fred said "Fine. Just don't let it happen again . . . You know how I feel about my food."
"I just missed something interesting," Kevin stated with a grin as he leaned against the room's entrance. He might hate the living conditions, but the guys were okay . . . sometimes.
Pietro quickly ran up faster than any normal person could and put his arm around Kevin's shoulder. "Nothing really. Just the normal Toad screaming like a little girl." He shot a smirk in Todd's direction.
Kevin smiled and said "I thought he had the powers of a toad, not a chicken."
Fred, Lance, Kevin and Pietro started laughing at Todd.
"Hey! It wasn't like that. I was just . . . uh . . surprised." The way Todd said "surprised" made it sound like he didn't know what to say until the word just popped into his mind. "The Toad is no chicken." All he got were more laughs from the others. He sighed, knowing that he wasn't going to convince them, especially still covered in gunk. Using both hands, he started to scoop the slime off. He then shook his hands to the sides, flinging the mush to the floor and on to the couch. There was still more on him, so he reached over and started to use the curtains to clean himself up.
When finished, Todd was about to hop over to the others, but he saw something out the window.
"H-hey guys," Todd nervously said.
They just continued laughing and ignoring him.
"GUYS!," he shouted, getting everyone's attention.
"Geez, what is it?," Lance finally replied.
"I think something is outside the window," Todd said as he pointed at the creature.
Everyone rushed over and Pietro got there first. He throw open the window and tried to grab the eavesdropper. He was able to get a hold of an arm and an insect leg. The others just watched as Pietro tried to wrestle the creature inside. Pietro got the creature half way through the window. The creatures tried to flap his winds to fly away, but couldn't. He realized that the window didn't allow him to unfold his wings. He turned around so that his tail was towards the teen and started swinging around his razor sharp stinger. He tried to cut the silver-haired teen, but Pietro was too fast and dodged each time. The tail cut straight through part of the couch and the window frame. This happened a couple of times, until pieces of both things started to fall away.
Seeing that Pietro could get seriously hurt, Fred stepped forward. He grabbed the creature by the tail to stop it from whipping around. He positioned his hand where the tail met the stinger so that the creature couldn't stab him.
Together, Fred and Pietro, started to pull the creature inside.
The creature grabbed onto the window frame and tried to get away, but he quickly realized that with the big guy holding on, there was no way of escaping. He turned around and shot green liquid from his eye stalks at the two. He got a direct hit on each. The sticky slimy stuff landed in Fred's eyes and over Pietro's mouth.
"My eyes," shouted Fred as he released the creature and tried to pry the stuff off of his face.
Nothing, but mumbles and grunts, was heard from Pietro as he also let go and brought both hands up to his covered mouth. He looked desperate to get the slimy stuff off.
Now that he was released, the creature quickly scurried out the window and flew off.
Lance thought about having everyone follow the creature, but dismissed the thought. "The only one that could keep up is Pietro and right now . . . ." He looked over at super speed teen and saw that Pietro was freaking out, trying to get that stuff off his face, " . . . he is wigging out."
Lance walked up and put his hands on Pietro's shoulders. He gave him a shake before saying "Calm down and I'll help you get this stuff off."
Mumbling a reply, Pietro nodded his head. Lance and Pietro quickly worked together and got the stuff off. Pietro then took deep gasping breaths. The gunk had not only covered his mouth, but in his attempts to get it off, the stuff had spread to his nose and had cut off his airway. When he finally regained his breath, Pietro said "Thanks . . . and now if you excuse me, I have to go wash out my mouth. . . that stuff tastes horrible." He then disappeared in a flash of movement.
Lance just stood there for a moment before turning towards Fred. He figured that the big guy would also be in need of help.
But Lance saw that Todd was already helping Fred.
When Todd saw that Fred needed help, he quickly jumped over and onto his shoulder. He perched himself on Fred's shoulder like a giant parakeet. He knew that the big teen might mistake his help for an attack from the big bug so he quickly spoke. "Chill, big guy. I'm just here to help you."
Fred calmed down when he heard Todd's voice. "I really don't like being blind, Toad." He felt Todd start pulling the stuff off of his eyes. After a few moments, Fred was able to see again and the first thing in his view was a close up of Todd's smiling face. "Thanks," he said as he returned the smile. "But. . . .," he raised his hand up and pushed Todd away by the face, " . . . get away from my face. You're too close."
Todd landed on the floor with a thud and was about to shoot back a reply, but saw that Fred was smiling. He realized that he was just a little too close to Fred for his comfort. He smiled back. The two would never admit it, but they considered themselves closer friends than with the other members of the Brotherhood.
Once Pietro and Fred were freed from their sticky situations, the five boys just stood in the room, not really sure what to say. After a few moments, the silence was finally broken.
"So," Kevin said. He paused for a couple of moments and the others turned towards him. "Are attacks from giant bugs the normal thing around here or was tonight a special thing?" His tone was very sarcastic.
Before Lance could reply, Todd jumped forward and said "What the hell was that thing? That was the freakiest thing to ever happen." He was nervously jumping around and the tone of his voice made it clear he was scared.
"It wasn't that weird," Kevin said in a even tone. He tapped his chin in thought. "It was probably an alien or something."
The others looked at him in astonishment. The new member to their team was a weirdo that believed in aliens.
"Aliens don't exist," Lance said in a dismissive tone.
"Oh . . . . just like how mutants shouldn't exist either?" Kevin asked with a smart-ass tone and a smirk on his face that pissed Lance off.
Just as it looked like Lance might start a fight, Pietro quickly appeared between the two with his hands held out. "It doesn't matter what it was. . . . We need to find it and teach it that no one messes with the Brotherhood."
Lance, Todd, and Fred agreed, but Kevin looked indifferent to the idea.
After a moment, Fred asked "So, how are we going to find it?"
The put a damper on the plan.
"Tomorrow night, we are going out and looking," Lance said as a smirk appeared on his face. "And when we find it, that thing will regret messing with us." His words brought a smile to the others' faces.
Even Kevin had to smile. "The guy knows how to run his crew."
==================The Next Morning (Tuesday) at the Xavier Mansion==================
Kitty and Gwen woke up early so they could make lunch for school. Neither of them wanted to have the unappetizing lunch provided by the school. Normally Kitty did it the night before, but after the mission, she just wanted to go to bed.
The two girls were still in their pajamas and had bed head.
Gwen was wearing what someone would consider traditional pajamas. They were baggy and a light blue color. The sleeves ended just before her wrists and the legs pooled around her slipper-ed feet. Her pajamas left everything to the imagination.
On the other hand, Kitty's outfit almost did the opposite. She was wearing a really large pink tank top. It was long enough that it completely covered her ass and ended around the middle of her thigh. The way it hung off of her made it look like that was all she was wearing. But it wasn't. Underneath, she had white shorts on. They were so short and tight that they completely showed off her ass. That is why the tank top was so long. She may like the way the shorts felt and liked to sleep in them, but she would never wear them out. She didn't want to give everyone a free show.
The two girls didn't talk much. It was a little too early to make conversation, but that wasn't all of it. They, along with everyone else, still felt down from the failed mission.
After they finished making their lunches, Gwen and Kitty started to talk as they got something for breakfast.
"So, Gwen . . . . that thing from last night was like totally scary, right?" Kitty asked as she got out a muffin and place it on a plate. She still felt tense and freaked out from almost dieing. Turning towards Gwen and leaning against the counter, she waited for her answer.
"Well . . . ." Gwen said as she sat down at the table with a bowl of cereal. "I'm not sure what to say to her." As she was thinking, she was staring at the bowl as if it would have her answer. "Yes, the creature was so powerful that he was scary, but . . . . . I was never afraid of what he was, . . . just what he might do. I got a weird vibe from him. . . . like . . ." She couldn't exactly place her finder on the feeling. "I just don't know." She was confused enough by her feelings and wasn't sure how Kitty would react, so she said "Yes."
Gwen could see some of the tension leave Kitty at her answer.
"I'm like so glad that I wasn't the only one scared," Kitty said. The relief could be heard in her voice. "That thing was like so totally freaky."
Gwen decided not to say anything to contradict Kitty because she didn't want to start a conversation on something she personally wasn't entirely sure how she felt. Also she could see that Kitty needed to vent a little about the creature.
Kitty then went on to tell Gwen about what happened with the creature almost drowning her. Gwen was surprised and could really understand why the girl didn't like the creature. Kitty also told her about Jean trying to befriend the creature and how that turned out. Gwen was glad to hear that someone reached out to the creature, but was saddened that it didn't work out.
Smiling and feeling better after talking to someone about the mission, Kitty reached over to get her muffin. Her hand met empty air. Looking over, she saw that her breakfast was gone. "HEY! Like who took my muffin," she shouted, surprising Gwen. Seeing a shadow just outside the kitchen moving into the hallway, she figured that it belonged to whoever stole her food.
Quickly taking chase, Kitty entered the hallway. She looked back and forth a few times, but saw no one. "That's strange," she thought as she reached up and subconsciously played with her hair. Then out of the corner of her eye, she saw something moving. It almost looked like someone was standing at the end of the hall. But when she turned in the direction, nothing was there.
Surprised, puzzled, and a little scared, she returned to the kitchen. When she entered, she saw that Kurt was sitting across the table from Gwen and they were talking. He was dressed in a pair of light purple sweatpants and a white sleeveless shirt. He didn't have his image inducer with him, so he was his blue mutant self.
And in his hand was a muffin.
Pausing her conversation with Kurt, Gwen turned towards Kitty and asked "So what just happen?"
But Kitty didn't even hear her. She was completely focused on Kurt and the muffin. "It must have like been him. He like totally sneaked up, took my muffin when I wasn't looking, crept back into the hallway, and then teleported away." She walked up to the table and just as Kurt was going to take a bite, snatched the muffin out of his hand.
"Hey, vhy did you take my muffin?" Kurt gave her a confused and slightly upset look. Starting to pout, he looked like he was going to cry. The look was obviously fake except for the confusion.
"Don't give me that look and you like totally know why." Kitty took a bite of the muffin as she sat down next to Gwen. "And don't you like mean my muffin."
After a few bites of the muffin, Kitty got thirsty. When she got up to get something to drink, Kurt looked towards Gwen for an explanation. He leaned over and whispered "Do you know vhat is going on?"
"No idea, I was just sitting here eating." Gwen didn't exactly know what was going on either because she had been lost in thought. On top of that, she just didn't want to get involved.
After a short time, the rest of the students started to show up. It was earlier than they would normally be down and mostly had something to do with last night's mission. They were dressed in their sleeping wear. No one had a problem being around each other dressed like this because they were like a family. Though Jean was keeping her distance from Scott and Evan. She was still mad at them.
It was very subdued compared to the normal morning chaos as everyone got breakfast. They still felt disappointed about the mission.
Kitty and Gwen finished their breakfast first. Just as they were leaving to go get ready for school, the Professor wheeled into the room with Logan and Ororo beside him. The three were completely ready and dressed for the day.
"Just a minute girls, I have something I have to tell everyone."
The two looked at each other, shrugged, and sat back down at the kitchen table.
Charles looked at each student and could tell that they were still feeling down from the mission without use of his powers. "Everyone, I know you all feel disappointed about the mission, but you shouldn't. Though the mission's objective wasn't achieved, everyone came back alright and that is what is most important." This made everyone feel a little better. "And using what we now know about the creature, we will be better prepared the next time we run into it."
"Do you really think we will see the creature again?" Jean asked. There was a bit of hope in her voice. She still wished to try working something out with the creature.
Folding his hands in front of his face, Charles gained a thoughtful look. It looked like he was thinking of an answer for Jean, but he wasn't. He was discreetly looking at Jean. "I'm starting to become a little concerned about what Ororo told me about. Jean really seems to be investing a lot into the creature. I'll have to find some time to talk to her if it escalates into something."
Unfolding his hands, Charles said "I have a feeling that the creature won't let what happened rest." He then looked at the time. "But this isn't what I wanted to tell everyone. . . . I have some business that has to be taken care of and will be gone for a few days. Logan is going to drive me to the airport." He paused for a moment. "I leaving Ororo in charge while we're gone. When Logan gets back, he'll also be in charge."
This got a silent groan from all of the students (except Gwen). They knew that when ever Logan was in charge, he had them run intense training sessions.
Charles chuckled before saying "If anyone would like a ride to school then you need to be ready in the next 20 minutes." He and Logan then left.
Kitty, Gwen, and Jean quickly left the kitchen to get ready. Jean usually got a ride from Scott, but didn't want to today.
Scott, Kurt, Rogue, and Evan stayed in the kitchen and finished breakfast. They already had plans on how to get to school. Scott was driving himself. He was a little disappointed that Jean wasn't going to ride with him, but wasn't surprised. Kurt was going to just teleport to school. Evan planned to get some skateboarding in on the way to school.
"This is ma chance to get some alone time with Scott," Rogue thought. She knew that if she asked, Scott would drive her to school. "With him and Jean fightin', I can get closer to him."
After the students finish their breakfast, they headed upstairs to get dressed.
At the top of stairs, Rogue stopped Scott. He turned, looked at her and couldn't help noticing what she was wearing. She had on a black tank top. Underneath this was a long sleeve shirt that was partly see through. The sleeves were long enough to cover her hands. At the moment, they were bunched up so that her hands were free. She was wearing black sweatpants. Everything was tight fitting and showed off Rogue's curves.
For a couple of seconds, Scott just stared at Rogue. "She is very attractive." Realizing what he thought and that he was checking out Rogue, Scott became embarrassed and turned slightly away from her. "W-what can I do for you, Rogue."
Seeing the way that Scott was reacting, Rogue smiled. "He's kinda cute when he gets embarrassed. . . Normally if I caught a guy checkin' me out, I'd beat his face in. . . . But I'm glad he can still notice other girls besides Jean."
"Do ya mind lettin' me catch a ride to school with ya?" Rogue asked. There was a bit of a flirtatious tone to her voice. It was hard to tell if it was her accent or if she was trying to flirt with Scott.
"Sure Rogue. Not a problem." Scott tried to use a normal tone, but it came off a little nervous sounding. "It's not everyday that an attractive girl might be coming on to you," he thought before saying "Just meet me at my car when you're ready."
With her answer, Rogue started to walk away. She added a swing to her hips as she moved to attract Scott's attention. He couldn't help nervously swallowing. When Rogue got a few feet away, she looked over her shoulder and said "Thanks Scott. If there is anythang ya need, just asked me." The "anythang" was stressed in an almost suggestive way. She gave him an unreadable look. She then started walking again and turned down a corning, disappearing from view.
Scott wiped the beads of sweat that had formed on his forehead. He didn't know what Rogue's look meant, but it had send a tingle up his spine. And her works had left a small blush on his cheeks. He gave his head a shake before heading to his room to get ready.
=============================== In Gwen's room ==============================
As Gwen was getting dressed, Kenny was curled up at the end of her bed. She had let him back out on the condition that he stay in her room. Gwen let him know that Saifu, who was on the bookcase, would tell her if he left the room.
"And you know what will happen if you do," Gwen said, hinting at the small punishment that Kenny would receive.
Kenny whimpered in fear. Casting the small golem a skeptical look, she remembered the last time she gave him the punishment she was thinking of. "It wasn't that bad." The look the stone creature gave her said otherwise. He then jumped off the bed and skittered under the bed.
"You big baby," Gwen said in an amused tone.
When Gwen was finished dressing, she paused and looked at Saifu. It was hard to tell if the magical bag was asleep or just sitting there. Gwen felt drawn to the bag and just kept staring at her. After a few moments, she realized it wasn't the bag. "It's the skull pendant she is holding."
"Saifu," Gwen said. The bag gave a small nod to show that Gwen had her attention. "Can . . c-can I have that . . sk-kull pendant I gave you earlier?" Gwen couldn't understand the nervous stutter that was in her voice. "I haven't stuttered like that since I was little. Why does the pendant make me feel so drawn to it?" She played with pieces her clothes in embarrassment.
Saifu didn't immediately respond to Gwen's request. The way the girl was acting was upsetting the bag. She stared at Gwen for a few moments in an attempt to understand what was going on with her.
Realizing that Saifu was staring at her, Gwen returned the magical bag's stare. She could tell that Saifu was looking at her in concern because of the magical link they shared. "It's funny most would look at Saifu and have no idea what she is trying to say . . . well, they wouldn't even realize she could communicate." Normally Kenny would follow Saifu's actions, but he was busy hiding under the bed from Gwen's empty threat.
"It's okay Saifu," Gwen said, trying to reassure not just the bag, but herself too. "The pendant just makes me feel. . ." she paused for a moment not sure herself how she felt, ". . . a little weird and I just want to see it."
While still not fully sure, Saifu unzipped her mouth and spat out the pendant.
Picking up the skull pendant, Gwen looked at it for a few moments. Then without thinking about it, she placed the pendent around her neck. The moment the skull touched her skin, the nervous felling was gone. In it's place was a strange warm feeling. It was like a piece of her that was missing was returned. At the moment, Gwen knew she would be wearing the pendent a lot. She walked over to the dresser and looked at herself in the mirror above it. "The pendant doesn't really go with my outfit, but I like it."
She then headed out of the room and down to the garage, where Kitty, Jean, Logan and Charles were waiting for her in the X-van.
=============================Back in the Kitchen=============================
Once all the students were gone, Ororo started to make herself breakfast. She usually waited for all of the students to leave before she cooked because she wanted to avoid the chaos in the mornings. Also, she would feel obliged to ask them if they wanted some and that would end up with her cooking meals for more than five people. Cooking that much was okay once in awhile, but too much and it would become problematic.
When she finished cooking her omelet, she placed it on a plate, grabbed some silverware and decided to eat outside. She walked out of the kitchen to a small area that had a stylish metal table and chairs set up. It was very close to the kitchen and set up so that it was easily be used. There was even a grill near it.
Ororo took a moment to enjoyed the bright sunlight on her skin and the fresh air before setting the plate and silverware down on the table. Turning around, Ororo went inside, grabbed a glass, and poured herself some orange juice.
Now that she had her drink, Ororo walked back outside. When she got to the table, she was surprised to see that a half of her meal was gone. It looked like something had ripped off an end of the omelet. There were small chunks of food on the plate, next to the plate and on the ground. "An animal must of gotten to it. . . . Probably a squirrel." She got some paper towels and cleaned up the mess. She thought about throwing away the rest of the omelet, but decided to place the plate down on the grass so that whatever got to it could finish the meal. She had set the plate around a corner so that she could see it if she leaned over a bit in her seat. This way the animal would feel secure that she couldn't see it even though she could.
"May as well let it eat the rest and make myself another one," Ororo though as she walked back inside.
Shortly after that, Ororo came back outside with another omelet. She sat down at the table and began to eat. She looked over and saw that something was eating her old meal. The animal wasn't in her exact view, but she could see its shadow move as it ate and was surprised by its size. "That is definitely not a squirrel, it is too big." When she leaned over to see the animal, she realized that she couldn't. The animal had moved the plate. She wanted to move to get a better view, but knew that she would make a sound and scare the animal away. "It has got to be a large dog or something," she thought as she continued eating.
When finished with her meal, Ororo decided to try getting a view of the it. She wasn't too worried about what the animal was because she knew whatever it was, she could handle it.
Ororo slowly stood up, but the chair made a small scrape sound as it moved. The shadow stopped moving. She knew that if she wanted to see the animal that stole her breakfast, she would have to move carefully. Silently standing there for a moment, she waited for the animal to start eating again. As she waited, she realized how silly she was being. "I'm just really curious as to what stole my breakfast and made me make another one."
When she saw the shadow moving again, Ororo silently started to walk over. She was about four feet away from seeing it when the shadow darted away. Ororo tried to turn the corner fast enough to see the animal. When she got to the other side, all she saw was a plate licked clean. The animal was nowhere in sight.
"I wonder what it was and where it went," Ororo said as she picked up the plate. She then grabbed her dirty dishes and headed inside. She was still thinking about the situation as she clean up her mess.
Outside and at the border of the forest around the mansion, a hole in a bush opened up. The insides of the bush were visible until three different colored triangular eyes and a sharp toothed smile appeared. There were bits of egg around his mouth. The creature smiled as he whipped the crumbs of Ororo's omelet off his face. "The food was good." When he saw the black skinned woman leave the kitchen and go deeper into the house, the purple lizard darted towards the house. As he got closer, he changed color until he appeared invisible. The only thing that could be seen was a shadow that looked to belong to nothing.
The creature got to the door and slowly opened it a crack. He check to make sure no one was there before slowly opening the door enough to slither inside and made sure to close the door behind himself. It was dark enough inside that seeing his shadow would be difficult.
For a moment, the creature stood unseen in the middle of the kitchen. "Maybe I should eat some more food while I still can." The omelet he stole was the only thing he had eaten in a while and he still felt hungry. He shook his head and gained a stern look. "No, finding my pendant is more important." He then took off into the rest of the mansion.
