No matter how impractical it may be Rei was hopping beyond all hope that Hiei's next fight would end in a somewhat quick fashion same as the last. These demons seemed to focused on Hiei for her liking, and not to mention just being in their presence was causing her hair to stand up. Her instincts were screaming at her to stay as far away from the old man and Shishi as possible. Even Hiei's presence didn't make the feeling of danger any better.

She wished Hiei would not give them what they obviously wanted, and allow Kurama to take this next fight. But the chances of that happening were as likely as him putting on a skirt and fluttering around the room like a fairy.

In short nothing aside from another member of the team's name poping up, or his own death was going to get Hiei out of that ring.

"Sorry to inturrupt your talk, but I'd like to fight." Hiei interupted his opponent's whispered conversation with the old man.

"What're you jokers whispering about over there?" Kuwabara shouted.

Everyone just tuned out what he was saying, waiting tensely for the next match to start.

'It's more than obvious to me that you're going to have to do something reckless to in order to kill this creep.' Rei's voice sounded in his heard.

'You remember what we discussed while you were scholding me after the first match?" He told her. 'We couldn't keep this a secret forever you know.

The next match was finally ready to begin as both fighters stepped forward.

Kuromomentoro riped the sword from his fallen teammate's head kicking the body out of the ring. He then proceeded to lick the blade before shocking everyone by slicing the blade halfway though his arm.

'I don't like this...' Hiei heard Rei whimper as the clearly crazy demon took a ball off of his bealt and squeezed it till steam seeped from within it. 'Please show causion here Hiei.'

After inhaling the steam, Kuromomentoro's body began to breakout in shaggy looking brown fur. As his demented laugh echoed throughout the stadium.

"Beast armor, armor of the ape. What do you think Hiei?" He asked striking a fighting pose.

'Better not have fleas.' Rei thought to herself.

Everyone remained in shocked silence, Kurama explaining the properties of the sphere's.

"Well, I won't be needing this peice of scrap metal anymore, and I can honestly say neither will you!" The now hairy demon threw the sword at Hiei.

Catching his weapon, Hiei finally decided to speak, "We'll see about that."

"Let's put this armor to the test." Hiei said spinning his sword before launching himself forward.

Sparks of light shot out from where his blade connected with his arm until the blade split into three. The fight quickly switching gears into a fist fight, though it seemed that Kuromomentoro was having no trouble at all keeping up with Hiei's speed punching him in the stomach and sending him right out of the ring.

'Hiei!' Rei ignored Kuromomentoro's explanation of how his armor worked more concerned with Hiei's well being. None of his injuries looked too serious. Since he was still standing, but he was beyond stubborn so she really couldn't tell.

Hiei calmly entered the ring the other demon taunting him about using the 'dragon of the darkness flame'.

'Don't do it..." Rei pleaded knowing he was going to do it no matter what the moment that he removed his headband.

The bastard survived the flame attack and morphed into some sort of nightmarish blue and yellow bird thing. Though he claimed to be a phenoix.

Kuromomentoro took Hiei's bait and began his attack, Hiei waiting for an opening.

"You've left your self open." Hiei spoke his body engulfed in a yellow flame that soon concentrated on his fists. "How about 'double fists of the darkness flame'?" The fire demon showed no mercy striking repedidly with blows to the tourso.

That, however, also failed.

Now it would seem that he'd turned himself into an ugly wolf thing. Whatever it was Rei was sure it would both seriously hurt Hiei, and forever haunt her nightmares.

"I promise I won't miss your flesh again." Kuromometoro taunted after Hiei bearily dodged a hit from his claws, "just needed to get used to this new body."

Hiei noticed his sword on the ground, "what the hell he murmured." Picking up the broken blade.

"Does that mean the great Hiei is ready to quit?" The wolf thing taunted.

"No you incompetent, but I will give you one last chance to." Hiei snapped back.

Kuromomentoro chuckled confedently, "That's very sporting of you, I think I'll pass however." He replied between chuckles. "Your memory is unlike mine so I'll give you a hint, if your sword didn't work on my first beast armor, it sure won't work on the third."

To Rei it seemed that Hiei was pouting as he gave his reply.

"I know, I hate to use this attack, I find it totally devoid of any taste or artistry." He explained.

Rei knew what he was reffering to having seen his plan through their still open link.

"Ha! Don't hold back just because something is offensive! I'm no snob, I was planning on a vulger move myself." Kuromomentoro challenged before using said move and biting into Hiei's shoulder.

The resulting spray of blood was massive and left the entire stadium in a state of shock. Though Rei noticed the old man chuckle.

A blue flame burst from Kuromometoro's back.

"Sword of the darkness flame!"

'Only Hiei could taunt Kuwabara while his own life on the line.' Rei sighed inwardly.

'Don't you start geting all disappointed because Kurama gets this fight.' Rei scholded him as she scanned his body to find the worst of his injuries.

She ignored the fight mostly up until a large surge of power hit her senses prompting her to turn towards the ring.

'Yoko.' She gasped inwardly.

"Rei my shoulder..." Hiei prompted, "change your form and heal any injury that could be used against me fully before I fight again."

'But everyone-...' She started to protest.

"I'm done with the secret." He assured her in his usual gruff tone. 'After last night I think it would be strange for you to continuously remain in your primative disguise.' He added mentaly. Kuwabara already looked like he wanted to question this conversation.

'When will we talk about that?' She asked woundering how long he was going to avoid the question.

"Tonight." Hiei told her. He'd figured out everything that he needed to.

AN: Let's just get this over with shall we. I did use orginal dialogue from the anime and a few points from the fights same as usual. I don't own the entire plot.

Soon I will be revealing who Rei's original master was, any guesses?
