Chapter Six:
Luke lay on his bed staring up at the blank, white ceiling it was 11:00 pm and Luke couldn't sleep. He couldn't help but think about what Doctor Tanizaki, Sarah Jane, and Maria have been saying to him since this all first started; one and a half weeks ago. It was getting harder and harder to try and prove he was right. The biggest blow so far was when he found out that 13 Bannerman Road really didn't exist. That only made his case sound more mad, claiming that he lives on a street that doesn't exist.
There was the possibility that whoever brought everyone here and made them forget (Luke was sure it was Doctor Tanizaki's doing) somehow made Bannerman Road disappear or something. Was that even possible? Luke wasn't sure what to believe anymore, with each passing day a small part of Luke would start to believe what everyone has been telling him.
Everything did and didn't make sense here; like things were starting to feel more real, like this was reality but at the same time Luke wasn't sure if it was. It kind of reminded him of a movie Clyde once showed him, The Matrix, he remembered how in the movie the main character believed that the world he lived in all his life was reality only to find out it wasn't and the truth of reality isn't what he thought it to be. Only with Luke everyone wasn't hooked up to a big computer and used as a power source.
Letting out a sigh, Luke rolled over deciding there was no point in not sleeping. It wasn't as if exhausting himself would help him find out what was real or not.
*Sarah Jane Smith; 13 Bannerman Road*
Sarah Jane leaned back in her seat away from her laptop; rubbing her tired eyes she looked over at her alien supercomputer, Mr Smith. "Have you found anything Mr Smith?" She asked yawning "anything about who or what could have done this to Luke? Or how to pull him out of it?"
After a moment of silence the computer spoke up "I'm sorry Sarah Jane." Mr Smith said "I haven't found anything to answer either of your questions."
"Well keep looking!" Sarah Jane snapped "I'm not going to leave my son in the condition he is for any longer than he has to be!"
"Sarah Jane," Mr Smith said "perhaps it would be best to take a break and get some rest."
"No." Sarah Jane said sharply "I am not going to rest until I help my son!"
Leaving the attic she made her way down stair to the kitchen were she made he self a some tea. She closed her eyes momentarily as she sipped from her cup think over everything that happened these last couple of days. From what just happened upstairs in the attic a few minutes ago to when she found Luke yesterday morning in some type of coma…
*Yesterday Morning*
Sarah Jane finished setting the table for breakfast; satisfied she looked over the clock that hung on the kitchen wall before frowning. Normally Luke would be up and ready for school by now.
"Luke?" She called before leaving the kitchen to check up on him with a sigh.
As she climbed the stairs she could help but chuckle to herself, she wanted Luke to be normal she supposed that this was normal. Having to go and wake up your teenager yourself to make sure they wouldn't be late for school.
Reaching her son's door she knocked "Luke?" She asked from outside "you need to hurry." There was nothing but silence from the other side.
Reaving no answer she opened the door and stepped inside, she was greeted by the sight of Luke slumped on the floor. Rushing over to his side,
"Luke? Luke?" She said painced, shaking him when that didn't work she checked his pulse (which she should have done first). She let out a breath of relief when his pulse came back strong and he was breathing normaling but he wasn't responding.
Sarah Jane didn't know what was wrong with her son (but she had an idea) or what caused it. But she was going to find out.
After scanning Luke's unconscious body Mr Smith conformed Sarah Jane's theory; Luke was in a coma. But Mr Smith could tell what put him in the coma but was going to run some analysis; he scanned Luke a few more times before Sarah Jane put him back to bed. She then called the school telling them that Luke was sick with the flu (which was going around the school currently).
Sarah Jane made sure to tell Luke's friends, Clyde and Maria what had happened and the cover story she told the school. The two had wanted to stay home and help find out what was wrong with their friend but she told them to go and that they could help after school.
Sarah Jane then went back to the attic to help Mr Smith with his research on Luke's condition. Make the chapter a bit longer Clyde and Maria should come over after school to try and help.
