Sesshomaru felt him coming and stopped; he knew Inuyasha had finally figured it out.
"Slow to the punch, are we halfbreed."
"You knew!"
"It took me only mere moments, unlike you."
"What the fuck did you do!"
"I do not know the future half breed; it hasn't happened yet."
"Yeah well" He took out his sword "It ain't ever gonna happen, stay away from Kagome!"
"You have no say in this half breed that is between the Miko and me."
"You didn't want them!" He yelled.
"It is not that I did not want them per say, yet why must I explain?"
"K, typical, that's what you say to get out of things ain't it."
They stared each other down.
"Tell me!" He yelled, then he lowered his sword "Tell me so that I can help her" He stated calmer.
Sesshomaru blinked slowly "The child as told me that I was courting another when I learned of the Mikos pregnancy."
"But you still didn't choose her."
"You did not choose her; you chose the dead"
"She wasn't pregnant with my baby!"
"So you would mate and bond your life to hers solely because she was pregnant?
"I thought you didn't want to be like our old man, isn't that why you call me a bastard you bastard!"
"I didn't" He never wanted to be like his father, and yet he did "The Miko stayed until the infant was a year old, my judgment was not swift in the matter, but she is the one who left"
Then Inuyasha understood "Yeah and I bet this sword that you watched her go didn't you."
Sesshomaru had nothing to say.
Inuyasha put his sword by his side; it was his to keep "So who did you end up mating."
"I did not ask, and the child would not have known" He wasn't telling the half breed everything.
"Just, just stay away from her, she doesn't know and doesn't have to know."
"You would lie to her."
"Aint that what your doing?"
"If she discovers it?"
Inuyasha looked away "We don't know when this happens Sesshomaru."
"This child is eight."
"Eight from a year from now? Two, we don't know."
That was true. Sesshomaru turned away "Do as you wish I will not lie if she asks."
"And what if she asks you to give her that child?"
Sesshomaru paused "Then that is between us, not you."
"Sesshomaru, if you don't want her, them, then deny her. You shouldn't have a problem with that I know you."
At one time he to would say that would be easy to do, but that was before he put eyes on what he created with her. But he would do her one thing; he would not tell her. If Kagome figure it out and wanted to talk about it fine, but if he could spare her the pain she seemed to be in within the future, he would grant her that.
"We shall see each other again soon Inuyasha" He then vanished with Rin and Jaken.
While it would indeed be hard to forget the child, he would if Kagome never found out. Of course, he did run the risk of her finding out much later and then her being angry at him but the way he saw it, it was a lose-lose. All he could do is take what he knew of them, of her and their future and make the best call.
Right now that call was to leave fate alone.
