Chapter7- Triple Layered Deception
"NARUTO RUN!" Iruka yelled loudly as he tried to stand while the blonde had a smirk on his face as he gazed at his watch.
"Did you know that shinigami love apples?," he muttered with a small smirk, his face lowered with his eyes shadowed while Mizuki inhaled deeply.
"Katon: Goukakyu-" the chunin's mouth suddenly opened in silent pain while his eyes went wide as he stumbled back. Immediately taking out a kunai from his pouch, Naruto lunged towards Mizuki with a blurred speed- much faster than he was before.
'His speed!' Iruka thought in shock.
SQUICH!
"AAARRGHHH!" Mizuki yelled as the left side of his chest was pierced by the kunai, where his heart was located. Drops of blood sprayed onto Naruto's face as Mizuki fell on the ground with the blonde above her, the kunai deeply lodged into the flesh as the chunin writhed in pain. His cries slowly went silent as his eyes closed, his earlier flailing arms now laying still while Naruto had his eyes widened in horror.
"N-Naruto?" Iruka called in disbelief, not being able to believe his eyes while the blonde jinchuriki slowly stood up as he stumbled back in what seemed to be the shock of his first kill.
"W-What have I done?" he stuttered with fear evident in his voice. Inwardly however, he was smirking.
'Well that's taken care of. I was itching to kill the bastard with my own hands anyway.'
Iruka had his eyes widened in disbelief over what had just transpired as he gazed at the blonde's shocked face. His eyes then drifted down as he stared at the corpse of his former best friend laying in his own pool of blood. The chunin however snapped out of his trance when he noticed the blonde's trembling hands as his eyes widened in realization.
'It's his first kill!'
"Naruto!" he yelled making the startled blonde look at him.
"Come here," he called as the jinchuriki silently nodded, his eyes still wide as he slowly walked towards his sensei.
"S-Sensei….I..I killed him. I didn't want t-to but…" his lower lip was trembling, eyes wide as Iruka shook his head, using all of his strength to push himself to stand.
"Don't worry Naruto…Mizuki was going to be killed anyway due to him breaking the sandaime's law. And you should be p-proud not scared…you're a ninja after all," he spoke with a chuckle, trying to lift the boy. Naruto's eyes however widened while he inwardly smirked.
"N-Ninja? B-But the e-exams…" he trailed as the chunin grinned at him, a bit of pained expression on his face due to the injury.
"Close your eyes Naruto," he said, confusing the blonde as he looked at him strangely as the chunin smiled at him warmly. Nodding slightly, he closed his eyes.
"What are you doing sensei?" Naruto asked when he felt something around his forehead making the academy teacher chuckle.
"Now open your eyes," Iruka said in amusement, coughing a bit as the blonde opened his eyes.
"Congratulations! You graduate!" he exclaimed making the blonde's eyes widen in shock as he clenched his fist.
'First phase complete. Now on to the second one,' he thought with an inward smirk, touching the metal of the hitai-ate on his forehead when suddenly some Anbu along with the jounins landed in the clearing.
"You brat! This time you crossed the line!" one of the jounins exclaimed in anger after seeing Mizuki's dead body and the forbidden scroll lying on the ground when Iruka immediately intervened with a stern voice.
"Naruto is not the culprit here! He was tricked into stealing the scroll by Mizuki. And I killed him as he had broken the sandaime's law concerning Naruto's secret here," the chunin spoke loudly making several Anbu and jounins stiffen up at that as they glanced at Naruto. The blonde however looked at his sensei in surprise who pinched his arm lightly, signaling him to keep quiet.
The Following Morning: T & I Department: 7:47 AM: Head Office
"So, what was the ruckus last night concerning Uzumaki Naruto?" asked Ibiki with a serious expression while Inoichi currently was checking Kakashi's memories, a part of their daily routine. Kuusho had already done his part followed by Inoichi erasing his memories, in particular the ones concerning about themselves.
"Well, it seems Mizuki had tricked Naruto into stealing the forbidden scroll under the assurance that he would pass the boy," Hiruzen spoke with a sigh making Shikaku narrow his eyes.
"How did he steal the forbidden scroll in the first place?" the Nara asked skeptically making the Hokage lower his gaze.
"I think that you were right about Naruto being Kira," he spoke in a low tone making the Nara's eyes widen.
"What happened?" Ibiki asked seriously.
"That's the case, I don't what happened. I don't know when or how he stole the scroll," the professor replied when Shikaku intervened.
"But the Anbu…."
"The Anbu told me that I behaved a bit strangely the previous night," the Hokage admitted with a sigh while Shikaku too sighed.
"It probably means that Naruto, who we suspect of being Kira, controlled you to take the forbidden scroll. What else did they tell you?" Ibiki asked in curiosity when Inoichi lifted his hand off Kakashi's forehead.
"He's clear," the Yamanaka declared as he walked towards the Hokage.
"Wait Inoichi, first let Hokage-sama tell us something," Shikaku uttered making Kakashi and the blonde Yamanaka stare at him in confusion.
"Well according to them, I was doing the usual paperwork when I got up to open the safe containing the forbidden scroll. Then I took the scroll and shunshined out of the office. They told me that they were confused as to what I was doing. Just when they were about to follow, I had suddenly shunshined back into my office without the forbidden scroll. According to what they told me, the time gap in between me teleporting out and then coming back was roughly about three seconds. One of them, who was a chakra sensor told me that he had sensed Naruto-kun's chakra on the roof in that interval," he verbalized making Ibiki's eyes widen while Kakashi and Inoichi had expressions of realization as to what the old kage was talking about.
"I see….well I'm sure then Kira has his hands in this….or we could say Naruto," Shikaku spoke with a sigh.
"You're suspecting Naruto again?" Kakashi asked in irritation.
"And we have the reasons to Kakashi!" the Nara fired back with a fierce look in his eyes, something which took the others completely off guard.
"Inoichi, I want you to check Hokage-sama's memories," Shikaku muttered with a sigh making the Yamanaka nod as he walked towards the professor.
"If by any chance it is Naruto, I just can't believe it. I mean…." Ibiki trailed with a sigh as he clenched his fist when the lazy Nara put a hand on his shoulder.
"Stay calm Ibiki. With the way he has been treated, I'm not all that surprised," Shikaku said while Kakashi just kept quiet, not ready to believe such an accusation on his sensei's student.
"Yeah…there is a blank Shikaku. The blank ends of Hokage-sama doing paperwork when he notices the safe already opened. Thus he discovers that the forbidden scroll has been sto-"
"Why don't you just give us the memories of Hokage-sama Inoichi? That way we would see what Hokage-sama saw and experienced at that time," Ibiki offered.
"Hm….that's a better idea. Do it Inoichi," Shikaku spoke making the blonde nod as he eventually transferred the memories of the professor to each of them including Kakashi.
"I see….so that's what happened," Ibiki spoke in a low tone while Kakashi had his eyes widened.
"Now you see Kakashi. This clearly indicates that Naruto IS Kira," the lazy Nara articulated with a grave expression on his face while the jounin stood there, not saying a word whereas the sandaime too stayed silent.
After the blank in Hiruzen's mind, Inoichi had found the kage doing his usual paperwork. Sarutobi had then noticed the safe already opened which had alerted him about the forbidden scroll being stolen. He had then called out the Anbu (the inexperienced and newly assigned ones ordered to follow each member of KISSI) and had asked them as to what had happened. Confused by the Hokage's question, they had pointed that it was Hiruzen himself who had taken out the scroll to shunshin out of the office. Roughly after three seconds he had come back without the scroll and had continued to do his paperwork. And then according to them, some minutes later, as if waking out of trance he had noticed the already opened safe. One of the Anbu, who was a chakra sensor had then informed him of the fact that he had sensed Naruto's chakra on the roof a while ago. This had alerted Hiruzen and hence the professor had ordered those Anbu to inform the available chunins and jounins in the village about his order of finding one Naruto Uzumaki.
After that, the Hokage had poured some chakra into his crystal ball to activate it, later finding Naruto talking with Iruka (Mizuki had not yet arrived) in a clearing. After that, what Hiruzen saw through the crystal ball was the events concerning Naruto, Iruka and Mizuki that had taken place the previous night.
"The fact that Hokage-sama was controlled so that Naruto could gain the forbidden scroll is the proof that the boy really is Kira," Inoichi spoke with a serious expression when the masked jounin intervened.
"This doesn't make any sense. Kira is already supposed to know that we can know when he controlled the victims by having Inoichi check their minds. And because of what Shikaku and Ibiki had done yesterday, Naruto-kun knows our entire investigation so far. So he also knows that we have Inoichi check our minds every morning for any possible blanks. Then, if he really is Kira, why would he control Hokage-sama here knowing that we would easily find a blank in his memories and thus connect the dots to Naruto-kun being Kira. You two yourself said that his IQ level is very high, then why would he do something so idiotic?" Kakashi asked with a grim expression making Inoichi's eyes widen along with Hiruzen and Ibiki.
"Desperation Kakashi. Failing the academy graduation exams thrice in a row can make you do even the most idiotic of things, even if you are a genius. Just like Hokage-sama said earlier, you can't compare a game like Shogi to the real life situations here. Being a genius in a game is one thing, but with the pressures of real life, it's a whole other dimension," Shikaku verbalized making the silver haired jounin clench his fists.
"Then tell me this...if he really is Kira, then how come he didn't control Iruka and Mizuki earlier during the graduation exams and just have them pass him?" Hatake asked when Ibiki immediately replied.
"This would be because we had assigned an Anbu member following me to follow Naruto after we had talked to him yesterday. And you know that Naruto's senses...due to his condition are way above even the most elite of shinobi. He must have sensed the Anbu's presence at that time. And considering he's not an idiot, he knew that having Iruka and Mizuki pass him when he had failed to create a clone would make the Anbu suspicious and blow his cover. But later, seeing that he's been evading Anbu and jounin for some time now, it wasn't much of a surprise that he evaded them and went to the Hokage's tower," Ibiki explained.
"How do you know all that? Did those Anbu inform you?" Inoichi asked making him nod.
"With whose permission did you made an Anbu follow Naruto-kun Ibiki?" Hiruzen asked with a frown making the Nara sigh.
"Listen, we don't have anything against Uzumaki Naruto….I've already said this before. But I can't ignore the fact that all the evidences point in the boy's direction. Just think, he fails the exam for the third time when Mizuki offers him the fake chance to pass by stealing the forbidden scroll. Grabbing the opportunity, he controls Hokakge-sama to get the scroll. After that, when Mizuki fights with him, did you notice the way he died? Do you think an elite chunin like Mizuki would just freeze in between a fight like that and allow an academy student to stab a kunai into his heart? Of course not. Naruto….or Kira used his powers to kill the chunin with a heart attack to save his own life since Mizuki was about a shoot a fireball at him. He then, to cleverly disguise Mizuki's death, took out a kunai precisely at the same time and stabbed that chunin where his heart was. THIS, he probably did to evade us. He knows that we are aware that Kira can kill his victims via heart attacks, so to dodge us he stabbed Mizuki into his heart so that it may look like he killed him with his hands when in fact he had killed the chunin using these mysterious powers of Kira," he explained as silence engulfed the members of this investigation team.
"Hypothesis like this wouldn't solve anything. The only straight way is to capture Uzumaki Naruto and make Inoichi check his memories at once," Ibiki muttered making Hiruzen sigh as he closed his eyes.
'Naruto-kun….you really….are you really….?'
"He's right Hokage-sama. You yourself gave us the permission to check his memories once the exams were over. I think we should have the Anbu capture him right now," Shikaku spoke when Inoichi followed.
"I think first we should find his location through the Hokage-sama's crystal ball. That way, we would also come to know as to what he's doing right now. Who knows, maybe he's killing another one or controlling someone right now?" the Yamanaka offered making them nod while Kakashi and the Hiruzen had sad looks in their eyes as they remained quiet, not being able to believe that Naruto was the one behind all these killings.
Konoha: Hokage's Office: 8:09 AM
Currently we find the members of KISSI standing in Hiruzen's office, around the crystal ball.
"Alright, most probably at this point of time, he should be sleeping in his apartment," the professor spoke in a low tone as he put his hands on the crystal ball while Shikaku, Inoichi and Ibiki were currently gazing at the ball in anticipating. Kakashi however, was not so eager. The Hokage applied some chakra through his hands onto the crystal ball.
BOOM!
"Argh!"
"Gargh!"
WHAM!
Hiruzen flew back due to the ball exploding into an outward burst of flames, taking Ibiki with him as the duo slammed into the opposite wall, debris surrounding their foggy forms while Kakashi, Shikaku and Inoichi too had skidded back a bit due to the impact of the small explosion.
"Wh-What was that?" Inoichi stumbled on his words, his elbows in front of his face as he stared at the former crystal ball, now covered with nothing but black smoke, it's broken shards lying throughout the office.
"Hokage-sama! Ibiki! Are….you two alright?" Shikaku asked in a bit of panic while coughing when he heard Ibiki grunt through the dust screen that had formed around the duo because of the debris.
"D-Dammit! What was…that?" the torture and interrogation specialist asked as he coughed out the dust, embedded into the small crater.
"It was…a paper bomb….it must be beneath the ball. That's why we couldn't notice it," Hiruzen muttered, coughing a bit who was being supported by Ibiki. Pushing himself, he walked forward a bit.
"Fuuton: Toppa (Wind Style: Breakthrough)" the professor muttered, spitting a small gust of wind from his mouth, consequently pushing away the smoke and dust from his office.
"W-Who could be behind this?" Inoichi asked with widened eyes while Hiruzen signaled his Anbu to stay in their positions who were about to jump out for their protection. Shikaku narrowed his eyes as he stared at the broken pieces of crystal laying around them.
'Someone would do this only so that Hokage-sama can't use his crystal ball anymore to keep watch. It could be possible that after last night, Naruto controlled someone to plant a paper bomb beneath this crystal ball so that whenever Hokage-sama here will try to use it, it would be detonated. Naruto….or Kira, probably did this to save himself, so that we wouldn't be able to keep an eye on him in the future. You think you're smart little boy, but we are the experienced veterans here,' the Nara thought with a grim expression when he turned to the sandaime Hokage.
"Hokage-sama, as you can see, this is probably the work of Naruto. Let's just order the Anbu to take him into custody and bring him over to Ibiki's office. We should check his memories right away. Also, send the newly appointed ones as Naruto may be aware of the personal information of the experienced ones here," Shikaku uttered making the old kage rub his temples when he signaled the Anbu to show themselves.
"You called Hokage-sama?" an Anbu wearing a tiger mask asked, currently kneeled before the Hokage.
"I want you to take your unit and capture Uzumaki Naruto at once. Bring him to Ibiki's office," he ordered with authority while Kakashi couldn't believe what was happening.
'I just can't believe sensei's son could possibly turn out like this….but this is just impossible. How can a mere twelve years old child kill all those criminals locked up in jail as well as the civilians every day without being noticed or anything?' the masked jounin thought with a sigh as the Anbu blurred out from the office.
"Hokage-sama, you go back to Ibiki's office with Kakashi and Ibiki. Inoichi, let's go to the autopsy department. I think we should check Mizuki's memories…and Iruka's too," Shikaku verbalized making the blonde Yamanaka nod in exasperation, it was one after another. Checking memories of people like this one after another was getting boring now, even if it was extremely important.
"He's admitted in the hospital right?" the Nara asked the Hokage who nodded lightly in response.
Konoha: Naruto's Apartment: 8:21 AM
"Huh? Anbu? What do you guys want this early in the morning?" Naruto asked, a yawn escaping his lips as he stared at the Shinobi standing in front of him through half-lidded eyes.
"Uzumaki Naruto, upon Hokage-sama's orders, you are to come with us quietly. If you refuse to cooperate or try to run away, then we will use force," the one standing in the front, wearing a tiger mask spoke in a monotone voice while the three Anbu behind him stood quietly.
"What? But why? I didn't even prank anyone this time!" he exclaimed with a frown.
"I will not repeat myself again, come with us quietly or we will drag you with us through force," he spoke making the blonde narrow his eyes before he closed them, a sigh escaping his lips as he clenched his fists.
"Fine, but at least let me pee first," he said taking them aback with surprise.
"A-Alright….just make it quick. And remember, don't try to run. We have the perimeter surrounded," the tiger masked shinobi spoke in a threatening voice making the blonde nod as turned around to close the door.
'So it finally happens huh? They're gonna check my memories. It's a relief Ryuk is not here.'
Half a minute later, the whiskered blonde came out, wearing his orange jumpsuit.
'What's going on here? If jiji wants to meet me, why did he send these Anbu to get me? Something's not right.'
"Let's go. Jiji's next on my pranking list for sure. Disturbing my sleep like that….he would pay dearly for his insolence...kukukuku," the blonde spoke with an evil chuckle making the Anbu sweatdrop as the group of five jumped away from the apartment, choosing the rooftops as their quickest route.
Autopsy Department: 8:23 AM
"Make this quick Inoichi, we also have to check Iruka's memories and then return to Ibiki's office," Shikaku uttered, currently standing in front of Mizuki's corpse lying on the dissection table while Inoichi rolled his eyes.
"Stop commanding me around like you're the leader here you lazy ass," the blonde Yamanaka muttered in irritation making the Nara glance at him with a smirk on his face.
"Well, its apparently clear that I'm the brains of this investigation team," he replied with an amused chuckle making the blonde sigh in exasperation.
"And without us, this team is incomplete anyway," he said, now walking to stand in front of the silver haired chunin's corpse. Going through a few handseals, he put his right hand on Mizuki's forehead.
'Let's see, there shouldn't be any blank in Mizuki's mind considering Naruto killed him instantly without controlling him. Iruka though is a different story,' Shikaku thought with a look of anticipation on his face when Inoichi sighed as he pulled his hands from the dead chunin's forehead.
"So, found anything interesting?"
"Um...I'm not sure if this was expected by you, but Mizuki has a blank in his mind from tomorrow morning till the second he died," the blonde Yamanaka stated making Shikaku's eyes widen in disbelief.
"What?" he asked in a low choked voice, mouth opened.
"Yeah, he was being controlled since yesterday morning till his last breath," the Yamanaka confirmed as Shikaku's eyes gradually narrowed, slowly drinking in the shock.
'What is going on here? Then it means that Naruto was controlling Mizuki the whole time? Then about stealing the forbidden scroll...Naruto controlled Mizuki to say all that to himself. Yes...he was probably aware of the Anbu following him, that's why he did all this drama. The Anbu following Naruto informed Ibiki today that he had heard Mizuki's plan and waited to catch the chunin red handed. But then he said that Naruto evading him had ruined his plans. So that's why the boy had made Mizuki say all that stuff about the secret of passing the graduation exams just so he could have that Anbu hear Mizuki and frame him when instead he was the one behind all this. This boy...I underestimated him,' Shikaku thought with a dead serious expression on his face while Inoichi too was surprised that Naruto had planned all of this.
"Let's go...Iruka's next," the lazy Nara muttered as he started to walk towards the door, Inoichi following him when suddenly Shikaku stopped- his pupil zooming out in shock.
'Then...then when Mizuki told Naruto about the Kyuubi? And considering this chunin was being controlled by Naruto all the time, then...then Naruto already knew about the Kyuubi being sealed inside of him. For how long did he know of this? His acting...fooled all of us into thinking that he heard of the secret for the first time then, when in fact he already knew it...all of it...all of this was planned!'
"Shikaku? What's wrong?" Inoichi asked in confusion.
"Nothing...," the tense Nara replied murmured.
"Let's go," he spoke afterwards.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you that Mizuki had been controlled once more in the past...around midnight, two days ago...it was Saturday," the Yamanaka verbalized in realization, mentally slapping himself for forgetting this important bit of information.
Shikaku however clenched his fists as he closed his eyes, a sigh escaping his lips.
"I see...let's just go Inoichi."
Konoha: T & I Department: Ibiki's Office: 8:46 AM
"Hey what's going on here? Why have you tied me like this? And what are these seals?" Naruto yelled, currently sitting on a chair. He was tied by some sort of rubber ropes with several chakra suppression seals on the him.
"The more you struggle, the more chakra these ropes will suck from you. So I'd advice that you stay still. Hokage-sama is going to come any time now," one of the Anbu standing in the room spoke in a monotone voice.
"But why are you treating me like a criminal here?" the whiskered blonde growled, his eyes cold with fury.
Just when he was about to say more, the door opened as three figures stepped in, his expression changing immediately.
"Jiji! W-What's happening here? Why am I tied like this?" he asked in a loud voice, his wide eyes showing a mixture of anxiety, confusion and fear while Hiruzen and Kakashi had sad expressions on their faces.
Ibiki though, however was boiling with rage. Killing all those innocent civilians and the boy was still acting.
"Just stop your damn acting you brat!" the tokubetsu jounin snarled as he took a threatening step towards the blonde when Hiruzen put a hand on his left shoulder firmly.
"Stop it Ibiki! You will NOT touch the boy under any circumstances, got it?" he exclaimed in a stern voice.
"What acting? You think I'm acting?" the whiskered blonde asked in confusion, eyes still wide while Kakashi stared at him quietly.
"Nii-san, what's going on here? Did I do something wrong?" Naruto asked in a bit of quivering voice making the masked jounin avert his gaze while Sarutobi had a stony expression on his face.
"I'll tell you what's wrong? You killed all those civilians! You are a mass murderer! YOU ARE KIRA!" Ibiki yelled, losing his cool as he clenched his fists while Naruto's eyes narrowed in anger.
"I see now. So that's why? After pulling your stunt on Sunday, you're still spouting that crap about me being Kira! Are you insane? Not even one day ago, I was an academy student! A three time failure at that! YOU THINK A TWELVE YEAR OLD DEADLAST LIKE ME CAN KILL SO MANY PEOPLE?"
"LOWER, your voice Uzumaki Naruto!" the Hokage exclaimed through gritted teeth, his tone full of authority making the blonde's eyes widen in shock.
"J-Jiji...you too think I'm K-Kira?" he asked quietly in disbelief.
POOF!
Suddenly, two puffs of smoke filled the room which revealed to be Inoichi and Shikaku.
"You two, what did you find in their memories?" Hiruzen asked making Shikaku sigh while Inoichi gave Naruto a hard look.
"Oh we did found interesting things. But even though this boy is a criminal, I have to say that he's one hell of a strategist," the lazy Nara spoke, glancing at a narrowed eyed Naruto.
"I'm a criminal? How many times do I have to tell you that I'm not Kira. Sure I'm good at Shogi, but that doesn't mean-"
"Tiger, put a silencing jutsu on him," Hiruzen interrupted, ordering the tiger masked Anbu with a cold expression on his face.
"How could you doubt me jiji? You really think I would kill all of t-mphff!" he abruptly stopped speaking when the Anbu, after going through some handseals applied the jutsu on him.
The blonde tried to speak but to no avail, his eyes widened as he stared at the group in front of him.
"Just tell us what you found already?" Ibiki asked in impatience, a frown on his face.
"Mizuki had a blank in his mind right from yesterday morning till the moment he died," Inoichi stated making their eyes widen in spine breaking shock while Shikaku walked towards the squirming form of Naruto before bending at his face level.
"Guess I solved your masterplan, huh Naruto?" the Nara asked with a smirk when Kakashi asked.
"What about Iruka, did he have a blank too?"
"No, Iruka was clear," the blonde Yamanaka replied when Shikaku turned around to face them.
"Now let me tell you this boy's plan which he executed almost flawlessly yesterday," the Nara spoke with a serious expression while Kakashi just sighed quietly to himself.
"Naruto knew an Anbu member was following him. So when he was called by Iruka and Mizuki to execute the bunshin no jutsu during the examination tomorrow, he had no choice but to try his luck. He couldn't control Iruka and Mizuki and have them pass him even when he failed to form clones of himself because he knew that if he did, the Anbu watching him would notice and it would blow his cover. He also couldn't control the Anbu member considering that guy was a newly appointed one and our boy here didn't know any personal info about him. Therefore, Naruto here had come up with a plan. He later controlled Mizuki and had the chunin speak to him about a second chance of passing the graduation exams by stealing the forbidden scroll just so that the Anbu listening in on their conversation would know that Mizuki is a traitor. Naruto here framed Mizuki when it was all him executing the plan. He also knew that Anbu always arrest or detain any criminals red handed, so he knew that that Anbu member would wait for the right moment. According to what that Anbu told Ibiki, Mizuki had told Naruto to meet him at the entrance of the forest of death, training ground 44 at 9 PM. Meaning Naruto had deliberately made Mizuki give himself that location and time to inform that Anbu when in fact they were going to meet at a different location. At some point of time, Naruto here had evaded that Anbu. Now since that Anbu member knew the time and location of where Naruto and Mizuki would meet, he just went to training ground 44 and waited there while Naruto had another location planned in his mind. So after controlling the Hokage to get the scroll, he went to the decided location and practiced some techniques and hence learned the shadow clone technique- an added bonus might I say. After that, as planned by him, he had made Mizuki inform Iruka that he had stolen the forbidden scroll. Thus Iruka finds Naruto and the boy here acts all innocent when Mizuki too arrives- acting exactly as Naruto had planned. Then Naruto made Mizuki tell the truth about Kyuubi to him, meaning Naruto...at some point of time had already come to know that Kyuubi is sealed inside of him," this made their eyes widen in shock while Naruto glared at Shikaku's back.
"H-He knew of the secret all along...but who told him?" Hiruzen asked in mild panic making the Nara sigh as he muttered 'troublesome' under his breath.
"Well Inoichi informed me that Mizuki was also controlled on Saturday midnight, so Naruto must have used Mizuki to know the secret. Mizuki openly showed hatred towards the boy after all, so naturally Naruto considered him as the best source. This also explains the reason as to why he looked to be suffering from sleep deprivation when me and Ibiki met him on Sunday morning. After knowing such a large secret of his life, he probably couldn't sleep," he explained, taking a deep breath before continuing.
"Well anyway, the reason Naruto did all this was to obviously pass the examination as well as evade us at the same time. That's why he had Mizuki call Iruka so that he could showcase some of his skills, gain Iruka's pity by hearing his secret through Mizuki, framing Mizuki and then killing him in front of Iruka and finally learning the shadow clone technique from the forbidden scroll. All in all, he stole the forbidden scroll so that he could make it seem to Iruka like he learned a kinjutsu from the scroll in a couple of hours when who knows, he may have had controlled a jounin in the past to show him how to do this technique? Also, he had Mizuki blurt out the secret in front of Iruka when he already knew it to gain pity...as well as to get away with the reason that Mizuki had broken sandaime Hokage-sama's law after killing the chunin. This was the master plan of Uzumaki Naruto here," Shikaku spoke with a smirk as everybody stood there in shock that a twelve years old possessed such a high IQ, it was unheard of!
Naruto however, stared at Shikaku with narrowed eyes while Kakashi sighed, muttering under his breath.
"Sensei would be disappointed in you...Naruto."
Shikaku turned around as he bent at Naruto's level again.
"So, am I right...Kira?" he asked in amusement making the blonde stare at him with cold eyes when the door opened to reveal two figures.
"Ah Kuusho-san, come in...I' presume you brought the perfect volunteer for the task?" Inoichi asked making the blonde Yamanaka nod, standing with a much younger looking Yamanaka.
"This is-"
"DON'T!" Shikaku snapped with a serious expression taking Kuusho and the unknown Yamanaka by surprise.
"Don't tell us his name...not now atleast. Whoever you are, thank you for coming here," Shikaku spoke while bowing a bit.
"It's my pleasure Nara-san," the unknown Yamanaka spoke.
"Alright, I want you to check Inoichi's mind to see if he's being controlled right now," Shikaku verbalized making the stranger nod as he walked towards Inoichi.
"No, he's not being controlled right now," the stranger uttered after checking Inoichi's mind while everybody else stood quietly. Naruto however had his eyes widened in fear.
"Now here's what I want you to do. When Inoichi is checking Uzumaki Naruto's memories here, at the same time you keep on checking Inoichi's memories for any blanks at the present time. The moment you find one, tell us immediately," Shikaku spoke, glancing at Naruto while the stranger nodded.
Inoichi then walked towards a wide eyed Naruto with the unknown Yamanaka behind him. Putting his hand on the whiskered blonde's head, Inoichi began to check his memories when the stranger put his hand on Inoichi's head, forming a chain.
A few minutes passed as the trio remained still when Inoichi snapped his eyes open in shock.
"Inoichi, what happened?" Shikaku asked with narrowed eyes, quite confused with the expression of disbelief on Inoichi's face.
"I-It's...N-Naruto has the longest and the most number of blanks in his mind so far. They start from two days before since Kira started killing all those criminals and civilians a week ago!"
Whoa! WHAT? WHAT? What is going to happen? :D
I have to admit this though- I LOVE WRITING THIS FIC! XD
Even though I've taken a month long break from my other two main fics, I just couldn't leave this. Also, you might be wondering when Naruto relinquished the ownership of death note? The answer is IN this fic if you would read the chapters again carefully. Somewhere hidden in these six chapters is an instance when Naruto had forfeited the ownership of death note, can anybody find it? And if they think they have found it, DON'T state in a review and just PM me. Also, can anybody guess the significance of the title of this chapter?
Now about the plot, can anyone of you guess Naruto's plan here? Cause there's only one person who has guessed so far, a certain brainy friend of mine- hence the reason for the scoreboard up there. If anyone else can guess the whole of Naruto's plan here with his reasons for doing so, I would consider you as an intelligent, observant and a sharp-minded freak! Lol ;D
