Just a special scene I thought up in class…Cause' I mean, everyone has bad days.
The Illusive Man…maybe his name is Tim? Y'know, acronyms?
Imma call him Tim here.
~o~
The Illusive Man was not having a good day. Twice already he'd had to change into different pants. Both times due to coffee he'd managed to spill on himself when the ship had lurched during travel.
Speaking of traveling, normally he'd still be in his stationary spot in front of the star. Unfortunately, said-backdrop star had begun the process of going supernova. So, unless he wanted to get caught in the imminent firestorm, he had to find a new star to pose in front of. However, it wasn't going to well.
Entering his sparsely decorated office, the main place he received his calls, he activated his digital screens as always. A number of feeds scrolled along each busy screen, at least adding something positive to his day.
"Annie, I need you to locate a star with similar makeup to the last one we drew reservoirs from. I need a list of all the ones within the area." The Illusive Man sighed, addressing his AI by name for once.
"I'm sorry sir, but none are within the area." The feminine voice replied.
He choked on a sip of coffee as white-hot anger began to surge deep in his chest, "Well scan for one out of area then."
"Ah, lucky for you sir-."
"Can you please speak in a way that does not make me want to replace you?" The Illusive Man growled.
"Certainly, sir, there is one in the Widow area, The Serpent Nebula, that is close by." She said.
Tim had to refrain from face palming. He really needed to invest in a different core AI.
"We cannot afford to enter the Serpent Nebula." Tim seethed, "Move onto another Nebula."
"Excuse me, sir. But I fail to understand why the Serpent Nebula's star is inadequate. Is there some other additional preference in the aesthetics of the star you require that I am not aware of?"
"That's where the Citadel is! What am I going to do?!" The Illusive Man began to sarcastically prance around the room, "Oh hello there, my name is Tim, also known as the Illusive Man. I need to come and pose in front of a star in this nebula, may I pass?" He growled, glaring daggers at the AI's digital interface, "Now does that sound reasonable to you?"
"That was a lovely display sir. You may want to consider taking up an acting class?" Annie suggested.
"AUGH!" He gave a frustrated cry.
"Um, sir," his assistant called from where she stood at the door.
"Hello Miranda," he nearly smiled, "How is your day going?"
"Are you alright sir?" Miranda replied instead, choosing not to comment on the subtle eye-twitches her boss sported.
"No, I'm losing my cool…" he sighed and rested his palms on his desk.
"Actually sir, you cannot lose your cool because you do not have cool. Cool is not a physical object that can be owned. Technically, one cannot have cool because they have never had cool in the first place. So you, sir, happily do not have cool to lose." the AI told him.
Tim promptly asked Miranda to get him a gun.
