"So we're going to keep up with this whole cop scheme?" I asked Alec ask we walked into the FBI headquarters.
"Hodge says it's easier to get places if you have a badge." Alec responded, leading me to the back. It makes sense that he already has the full layout to the building seeing as though he's our hacker.
"My face seems to have the same affect. I can count the number of times I've had to show my badge on one hand." I said.
When we got to the back of the building Alec opened the door through to a staircase. At the top of the stairs was another door, but this one had a pass code.
Once the code was accepted the door opened and we were welcomed into the new and improved Circle HQ.
"This is nowhere near as nice as London's HQ. Magnus is starting to fall off a bit." I said, checking over my shoulder to make sure Magnus didn't hear my comment. He is not very pretty when he is insulted about his decorating skills. I sighed out a small breath of relief when I didn't hear a sharp gasp of astonishment.
I must have sighed too soon.
"Excuse you?!" Magnus comes into the room with his hands on his hips and his face twisted in a slight snarl.
"I-I mean umm…" I say rubbing the back of my neck trying to find the words to talk myself out of this situation.
"'I-I mean umm'- Magnus mimicked '- you know I didn't see you offering any kinda of help Jace." Magnus said motioning to the room behind him.
"I know Mag, what I meant was…okay I haven't had a good night's sleep since I got back, so how about I just go and get you some doughnuts and we call this even." I say realizing that there is no way I am coming out on top in this situation.
"Fine. But because you seem to think it's so easy to create a new HQ every five minutes, next time you can put it together." He says before storming out of the room.
"Well Jace what happen to that charm that you pride yourself on?" Alec asks with a condescending smile on his face.
I decided that starting argument to defend my incredible charm would take too long and I would do better to just get Mag his doughnuts.
As I walked down the street to the nearest doughnut shop my thoughts drifted to the red head I shared a bed with. It was one of the first times in a long time that I shared a bed with a woman without screwing her beforehand.
I think it's the little message on the mirror that is bothering me the most. How could she possibly remember something that never happened? My pride is at stake here.
When you walk with your head down and pay no type of attention to the world around you, of course sooner or later you are going to step on something.
"Watch where you're going asshole!" A familiar voice screamed up at me. I looked down to be face to face with my little Red-head.
Or someone for that matter. I looked down in shock to see my little red- head glaring back up at me.
I may like New York after all.
"Hey little Red." I said, enjoying the look on her face when she recognized who I was.
"Hey? You just fucking stepped on me! Did you not see me?" she said running her fingers through her hair in frustration.
"I don't know if you noticed, but you are kind of small. Little Red you can hardly blame me for not being able to see you."
"Little Red?Damn Playboy. How long did it take for you to come up with that one?'" she said stepping around me to continue her previous path.
Playboy?
Magnus is going to be so pissed but he will have to understand. I turned to follow her going in the opposite direction of where I was originally planning on going.
"What kind of name is Playboy?" I asked easily being able to match her strides even though she looked as if she was trying to run.
"It's more original than 'Little Red'. I'm willing to bet that no one else has called you Playboy." She says before going into a building. I follow her before I can talk myself out of it.
"Well I'm glad I didn't take you up on that bet." I said following her as she walked through the book store like it was a second home. She stopped in front a section of classical books.
She placed her finger on the book at the end of the shelf and slowly walked down the aisle dragging her finger along with her. She slowed her pace to a gentle stop and grabbed the book that was in her grasp.
"Gatsby. Already read that one. Did you need something Playboy?" she asked, starting her book process over again at the end of the shelf.
"I was just thinking about the message you left on the mirror of my hotel room." I said grabbing the first book I touched and handing it to her.
"The Secret Garden. Interesting choice…I'm assuming you a referring to the message regarding your rather unmemorable performance?" she moving past me back towards the front of the store.
"Little Red you and me both know nothing happened that night. I was just being a gentleman, falling asleep on the beach isn't exactly smart."
"Thank you for your gentlemanly actions. So, Playboy what do you want from me?" she asked cocking her head to the side slightly.
I took a step closer so that she would have to look up at me, "Give me a chance to actually give you something to remember."
"The next time I see you. I'll take you up on that offer." She says before smiling, pecking my check and walking out of the store with her purchase in hand.
I smiled in amusement and silently prayed that I would see her again.

After my meeting with Little Red I managed to get Magnus's doughnuts and report back to HQ in a timely manner.
The next day
"Jace I don't know about this. What if you need back up or something." Alec argued his point for the hundredth time I rolled my eyes and sighed into the receiver of the phone.
"Alec, I don't need any back up. All I have to do is touch him with it, the rest will take care of itself. A four year old could do this." I said stopping in front of wear my target is located. "I'm here. I'll call you when it's done." I said before going into the Starbucks.
I looked around discretely before spotting my target sitting in a corner reading a newspaper.
"What can I get you sir?" the attendant asked me when I made it to the front of the line.
"Can I get a tall caramel macchiato?" I asked checking to see if my target was still in the back.
"That'll be $4.76. What's the name?" she asked grabbing a cup and marker.
"Jace." I said handing her a five dollar bill. I checked the corner again because I felt like something was wrong. He was still there.
"Playboy, they've called your name three times now." a familiar voice said behind me. I turned to find Little Red standing before me. I turned back to the counter a grabbed my drink, sending the cashier a wink instead of an apology.
"What brings you here?" I ask after she places her order and gives the cashier her name.
"Well, I needed some home improvement supplies and I figured Starbucks would have just what I'm looking for." She said smiling sweetly.
"Clarissa." the cashier called out. Little Red collected her iced coffee without having to be asked twice.
When she reached up to grab the cup, I notice what she was wearing. I started at her feet and slowly worked my way up her body. Her bottom half was covered by a red and black plaid skirt and her top calf was encased in a simple black top.
She walked pass me, brushing her shoulder against mine in the process. There was the faint smell of vanilla in the air after she passed me. I followed after her placing my cup on the table across from her.
"Watch my drink?"
"Watch it do what?" she asked as I made my I walked towards the target. The closer I got the more odd he looked. I walked pass making sure to peek out of the corner of my eye for as long as I could. He didn't appear to be breathing. Somewhere between paying for my drink and receiving my order he either died spontaneously or someone killed him.
When I was out of site I pulled out my phone and called Alec. "So you decided you needed help after all?" he said in place of 'hello'.
"I actually called to tell you that he was already dead before I could get to him." I said leaning one shoulder against a wall. "Did you see anyone? How did it happen?" he asked, panic rising in his voice.
"Alec if I saw anything worth telling you about I would have told you when you first answered the phone, don't ya think?"
"I'll have Magnus look into it." he said before hanging up.
I walked out to surprisingly find Little Red still sitting there, reading the book she bought yesterday, I pulled out the chair and sat across from her. She doesn't acknowledge my presence. Her eyes follow the words down the page; takes a sip from her drink, turns to another page and repeats the process.
"Are you just going to sit there and stare at me like a creep or are you actually going to say something." She said looking up from her book
"I seem to remember a promise being made the last time we talked." I said, taking a sip from my drink.
"You really have something to prove, don't you Playboy."
"Well I can't rest at night knowing that you have a false opinion on my skills."
She nodded slowly, "Let's go." she said closing her book and walking out of the shop. I followed behind her like she knew I would.
"My place is a couple of blocks away. Would you rather walk or take a cab?" she said.
"We should probably take a cab. You need to save your energy."
So we stood at the edge of the street and to wait for a taxi. She raised one hand in the air and three cars pull over. She picks the middle one, tells the driver her address and we are off.
For two people who are about to go fuck, we don't talk much on the drive to her place.
"I don't have to worry about you stalking me, do I?" she says as we walked up the stairs to her apartment.
"Not unless you owe me money." I said leaning against her door frame as she put the key in the lock.
"Nice digs." I said as she led me through the main room.
"Do you want anything to drink?" she asked, putting her bag down on the table nearest her.
"Nah. I don't want any interruptions later on." I said smirking. She looked back at me and smiled slightly.
"Bedrooms back here." She said leading me to the room in the back of her apartment.
When we got to her bedroom she sat down on the bed and looked up at me. "If your have as good as you claim to be I'll add a bonus to your two hundred." She said before grabbing my tie and pulling me on top of her.
"I didn't know this was one of those situations." I said as I ran my hand up her leg, over her thigh and onto her waist.
She responded by pulling my face down to hers and connecting her lips with mine.
Her mouth was soft and she tasted like strawberries.
She broke away from me and put her mouth next to my ear, "Do you going to need fourplay, Playboy?" she asked rubbing her fingers threw my hair. I laughed, unbuttoning her shirt, kissing the exposed skin that appeared after every button I undone.
"I'm just trying to be a gentleman here." I said when I got to the waist line of her skirt.
"I don't recall asking you to be a gentleman." She said pulling me up by my tie. She took off my tie and went for the buttons on my shirt.
"Someone's anxious." I teased, kissing a trial from her neck to the top of her shoulder.
"I'm not very patient, I need you to hurry up before you see a very unfriendly side of me."
"I don't recall ever seeing a friendly side of you." My hands went around her waist and I rolled so that she was now on top of me. Her skirt bunched up around her thighs.
She slid of my lap, taking the gun that was hooked to my waist with her. I looked up at her in confusion.
"I don't think it safe to screw with a gun clipped to your waist. She said while unzipping and stepping out of her skirt. She put the gun on the dresser and crawled back into my lap.
"Make it good. You probably won't get a second chance." She said before pushing me back on the bed
~TLTD~
She fell against the mattress, letting out a loud sigh when her head made contact with her pillow.
"So, do I have enough ammo to back up my word?" I asked sitting up, rubbing the marks she left on my arm.
"It was fine."
"Just fine?" I responded.
"This is as close to an apology as you're going to get, Jace. I do need your help though." she said. "Would you mind taking my shoes off?"
"To wore out to do it yourself?" I asked pulling one leg in my lap, then the other.
She let out another sigh before getting under the covers. She reached over to the table beside her bed. The sheet that was wrapped around her body slipped down far enough to see a cute tramp stamp at the bottom of her back.
Andrew
I'm hoping that it isn't what I think it is because I would never peg her for the type of girl to get some guys name tattooed on her. I have a smart ass comment threatening to slip through my lips but I push it back down.
It seems like a battle I don't want to fight.
"Do you smoke?" she asked, lying on her back with a pack of cigarettes on her stomach.
For the next 10 minutes we laid next to each other and smoked in silence.
Then she does something that has never happened to me before, she looks over at me and says "I have to work tomorrow."
"You kicking me out?" I asked tucking arm behind my head, leaning further into the bed.
"Well to put it bluntly…yes." She said exhaling smoke and a shaky laugh.
"Wow, well I have to say that is a first. You, Clarissa, are full of surprises." I said getting out of the bed looking around for my underwear.
She watched in amusement as I searched the floor for the item of clothing.
I watched her as she watched me. I want to ask to see her again but I refrain. Hit it then quit it. Can't get in to deep. (AN: No pun intended.)
"I'll walk you to the door." she said getting out of bed, walking past me to the front room. I followed her as expected.
"Little Red." I said, almost sad that this was probably going to be our last meeting.
"Playboy." She responded. She was still flushed from the moment we shared, the light pink shade of her checks almost made her look vulnerable and innocent.
Hey. How's it going? I'll probably edited this crap later. Now that I have access I will try my best to update once a week. Swing Set took a wrong turn so I'm going to rewrite it.
I think I'm sticking around long enough to need a Beta.
Anyone want to help me out?
