A/N : Well, here we are… it's been a while, but I'm back! So we left off with Dave flipping out because he didn't want his wife to go undercover… can anyone blame him?

*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*

"I beg your pardon!?" Amie glared at Julian.

Julian shrugged. "You heard me. The only way to get more insider information is to have Lettie go undercover."

Dave was being restrained by Morgan and TJ. "I won't let her. NO WAY!"

Devon backed up. In a way, this scene was very pleasing to him. "Agent Rossi, I'm not trying to steal your wife, but you asked the question… I gave the only answer."

"There has to be some other way." JJ piped up.

Reid and Dominic spook up at the same time. "I don't think there is."

Amie didn't like it, but she had to admit, this did seem like their only option. She knew that Lettie would do it, but Dave was definitely not going to let her do it without having a fight. She watched as Lettie walked up to Dave and cupped his face in her hands.

"David, please… listen… if not to them than to me."

Dave stopped struggling.

"You know as well as I do, that men like this don't just give up the hunt. They also don't usually keep their victims this long. It's only a matter of time before he kills the one he has and takes another one. I can't bear the thought of having to notify another family of their daughter's death… can you?"

Dave collapsed into a nearby chair. "No."

"Then let me do this."

Dave looked into his wife's eyes. This wasn't going to be easy. He knew that if she went undercover, it would have to be convincing. That meant that she would have to do things that no married woman would do. It most likely meant that Devon was going to get to have his way with Lettie, and there was nothing that Dave could do to prevent this. It was their only option. They'd exhausted all other routes. Lettie was right. He didn't want to have to tell another family that their daughter would never be coming home. He hung his head.

Lettie looked to everyone. "Can you guys give us a couple minutes?" She helped Dave up and headed to her office. She closed the door behind them and closed the blinds. "Dave, please… look at me."

Dave slowly raised his head. Lettie could see the pain in his eyes. There was no way he was going to be okay with this, but they didn't have much a choice. "Lettie, I can't lose you."

"You won't… I told you… I don't miss that world… but we need to catch this monster before he kills again."

"What… I don't want to think about what you'll have to do to pass off as convincing."

"A lot, and you know that already. Know that I'm not in this for that thrill anymore… I want nothing to do with this world, Dave. Nothing. But, I will go back if it means that I can catch this son-of-a-bitch before he ruins another family."

"You keep saying that… what if he won't?"

"What if he won't what?"

"Lettie, what if he won't kill again because he found his perfect victim?"

"Dave, you've been a profiler for decades. Do serial killers ever quit?"

He had to think about. "No."

"Then, he will kill again… it's just a matter of time and how long before she pushes him to the killing point."

Dave shook his head. "I want to know everything that he may make you do."

"David… you don't want that."

David got out of his chair. "Yes! Nicolette… I need to know what your getting into… what may be required of you. As your partner and husband… I have that right."

It had been a long time since he'd used her full name. It had probably been since their wedding vows. She cringed. Something that she had only ever done when she'd been Devon's submissive.

Dave seeing this reaction took a step back. "Baby, I'm sorry."

"Dave, I don't want you to have to see it. Rights or not… I don't want you to see me in this persona."

"How are we supposed to keep you safe if I don't know?"

Lettie sighed. That was a valid point. "I don't want the whole team… either of them to have to see this. Just the bare minimum."

Dave nodded in agreement. "Only the ones we need."

Lettie walked to him and kissed him. "Dave, you do know that I'll have to be convincing, right?"

He nodded sadly. "Yes. I don't like it but I know that there's that possibility that you may like it."

"If I were to get pleasure from this whole thing, it would strictly be because I was thinking of you."

"You know I'd never to any of that stuff to you… even I begged you to." Dave whispered.

"I know… but to understand it… to see it… you have know what it is." She stroked his cheek. "I think it would be best if Devon shows you before hand… on me… so you know… you can understand and be prepared for it."

"I don't think I could watch another man hurt the woman I love… not ever. Been there, done that… not wanting to do it again any time soon."

"Dave… if you don't see it before I go into one of the clubs, you flip. I know you. We've been married long enough to know those things about each other."

"Will he have to… will he have to have sex with you?" The words barely escaped his lips. Their marriage vows meant monogamy, but their job meant undercover and sometimes you had to sell it.

"Possibly… especially if they need to be convinced I'm still his submissive. I've been out of the game for almost a decade. I still remember a lot, but I'm going to have to give in to him… I'm going to have to do a lot of things that I would never on any other given day do."

"I know." He got up and went to the door. "Devon, can you join us here please?"

Devon joined them in Lettie's office. "Everything okay?"

"Yes." Lettie said quickly. "Dave is still against the idea, but he knows as well as we do that it's the only way in."

Devon nodded. "I see… so does that mean we're doing this?"

Dave responded. "Yes, but on a couple conditions."

Devon turned to face Dave. "Yes?"

"First and foremost, you are not to leave a permanent mark on her body. I know that she's going to have to do stuff that I don't condone, but I refuse to have her be permanently marked for a case."

"Understandable." Devon nodded. "What's the next condition?"

"I want you to show my exactly what you plan on doing to her. I need to understand what she is putting herself through."

"So you want to watch?"

Lettie stood back. As much as she could be dominant in this situation and just make both sides agree to whatever would be necessary to get this case solved, she had to stand back. Devon needed to know that Dave could be as dominant as him. She sighed. This was one of those skeletons that she wished would've stayed in the closet.

"Watch, learn… whatever you want to call it. I need to know what you're going to be doing to her." Dave sighed. "I need to understand that going back to this life… won't rip her away from the family we've made."

Devon understood where he was coming from. "I don't think Lettie could ever return to that life. She doesn't belong there permanently… but Agent Rossi, you do know that if she's going to be believed..."

"You don't need to remind me." Dave turned to his wife. "You're going to have to go all the way to prove that she isn't one of the posers that are ruining your clubs. She's going to have to prove that she's still in the game."

"Can you live with that? Can you honestly be okay with your wife having to have this type of relationship with another man?"

"Honestly, no I can't be okay with it… but if it means catching the son-of-a-bitch that's doing all this… then yes. I can live with it." Dave groaned. "It's…"

"I know what you've written in your books, Agent Rossi. I've read them all since I found out that Lettie had married you. You don't think this lifestyle is normal… that it's part of a broken psyche or comes from being abused as a child." Devon crossed his arms. "I was never abused and I'm not broken. It is part of my psychology, yes, but does it make me a monster? … no."

"Look, I get it." Lettie stepped between them. "Right now… we need to decide if we're going to do this or let this prick get away. Are we doing it?" She looked between the men. "We need an answer now. So are we doing this or not?!"

Dave and Devon were both shocked at her tone. She never raised her voice. They faced each other. Dave finally answered. "Yes, do it."

Lettie sighed. "There. That wasn't so hard. Now," She turned to Devon. "Can you gather the things… you'll… we'll need for this."

"Are you letting me be the Dominant?" Devon tested the waters.

"While you're in this office and I'm wearing my badge and gun… damn straight I'm not!" She snapped. She took a deep breath. "Now, can we get on with this? The sooner we do, the soon I can go back to my normal life." She walked out of the office, Dave on her heels.

Devon paused and whispered. "Normal doesn't exist, Lettie. You'll soon remember that."

*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*

Lettie was dreading the preparation for this undercover assignment. She could mentally prepare for the sexual and BDSM aspects, but the physical transformation she was going to have to undertake, which was something else. She needed to go back to who she was all those years ago. She had gotten rid of the tattoos, most of the piercings, the hair colour and style. All of it had to be redone if she was going to become her old self again. They had been able to dye and style her hair as well as re-pierce her ears. She wasn't about to re-pierce her navel. She hadn't had that since her first marriage. She thought back to the time she'd considered nipple piercings for the lifestyle and cringed.

"Everything okay, love?" Dave asked.

Lettie shook her head. "Just thinking back to things I almost did for that lifestyle." She sighed. "Are you going to be okay with the kids alone with our parents?"

"Mina and Dakota are going to help out again. We'll be okay." He stepped back. "How exactly are they going to not know you're the head of C-BAT?"

"One, I didn't go by Lettie in that world, the same way he didn't go by Devon. Add in the fact that I've heavily modified my appearance back to the way it was back then."

"Did you seriously have that many piercings and tattoos?" Dave asked as he examined her back.

"Yes. I had them all removed before marrying Brennan. I removed any trace of that life." She sighed. "Now, I've had to put it all back on because I can't find this sicko any other way."

"So what were you cringing about?"

"At one point, we had talked about getting my nipples pierced…" She could tell by the look on Dave's face that it was a good thing she never had. "Don't worry. I'm not about to. Especially if we're going to try for another baby."

"Lettie, bella, we don't need to talk about that now… you need to be in this 100%. We can talk about another baby once this is all over." He kissed her. "I'm not sure how I feel about you with red hair like this."

"It's temporary. Just take care of the kids, please… ours and the team… sometimes I think the team can be worse than our own kids."

"I've got them all. When… when do we meet with Devon to go over this?" Dave hadn't wanted to ask that question, but he needed to know.

"Tonight… he'll meet me… us… outside the city. There's a house I was able to get on short notice for this. Um, if anyone asks who you are… I'm gonna have to tell them you're my dad."

Dave's jaw dropped. "Huh?"

"In this world… for this UC assignment… I can't be involved romantically with anyone… it doesn't permit for the lifestyle to work. I'm going to have to be alone with him… most of the time. It's why anything you're going to be learning is going to be late at night. We can't risk anyone making a connection to C-BAT and me."

"Hmph." Dave didn't like this one bit.

"Don't pout, love. It's unbecoming." Lettie sighed. "I don't like it anymore than you do… I think I've said that about a thousand times."

"Just… try not to enjoy it…" Dave whispered, pulling her into his arms.

"Dave, the only person I really enjoy anything with is you… and our family." She kissed him. "Now, let's go get my IDs and the rest of my new identity."

"The team is going to flip."

Lettie nodded and turned to the mirror. She took one last look, staring at the ghost of her former self. "They're not the only ones."

*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*ASY*

The team was anxiously waiting. Nobody was a fan of this plan, but they also had no other options. Dave walked out of her office first. "She's as ready as she's going to be. I present to you… Nikki Labonté."

Lettie stepped out. She hadn't worn clothes like this in almost a decade, but it was all part of the ruse. She was in a pair of tight black leather pants with a crimson corset. She was barely covered, but that how she had dressed when she was still a part of the BDSM world. She saw the jaws drop. "Well, Devon… am I passable for the same woman I was a decade ago?"

Devon motioned to her to spin around. She slowly turned. Despite being a master of control, even Devon swore that he was staring at the girl he met all those years again. Her hair was the same shade of crimson red as it had been back then. Her extensions made it go to just above her waist. Then he saw them… the tattoos. He knew she wouldn't have kept them once she'd gotten married. "You look like you did back then. I'm taking the tattoos aren't real?"

Lettie shook her head. "No. They're very good makeup. Strong enough to last showers, and whatever else I'm gonna have to do. They're exact replicas."

"Well, you look the part… now you've got to be able to act it." Devon stood straight and crossed his arms.

"Not here, Devon." She said harshly. "I will not be doing that in front of my team."

"If you can't do it in front of them, how will you be able to do it in front of large groups of people at the clubs? How will you be able to convince everyone that you are who you say you are?" His tone had changed. It was the tone he always had used with her.

Dave wanted to deck him right there. No one was going to talk to his wife that way, but he had to remember that as of now, she wasn't his wife. His wife was on holidays. He clenched his fists.

The team looked to one another. No one wanted to see Lettie put in this situation. They also knew that Devon had a point. If she couldn't convince those closest to her of who she was, she wasn't going to be able to convince those who knew her back then.

Lettie turned to Dave, her eyes pleading. She didn't want this. She had left this life when she had married Brennan. Dave looked away. She knew that she didn't have a choice. She turned back to Devon and whispered. "What is your wish, sir?"

A/N: Well, I don't know how else to explain this except… I had to do something totally out of character. More to come soon… I hope… Let me know what you think?
