Chapter 6: Revelations

The sky, the sky was being eaten by an overflowing void that coated it in a deep bloodstained red; this bounded field was not an ordinary one, as far as the red-headed magus could tell, it was one of excellent craft and one of malicious intent.

The bounded field itself was designed to suck out the essence of every living thing within so that Rider could feed on their souls. This could be used as a source of prana for servants, it was a barbaric, evil method that Shirou could not condone at all. If the master was indeed Shinji, there was no doubt that he'd have to go down.

Right when he stepped outside the class Rin came running to him.

"Shirou, as I feared the bounded field has been activated, unfortunately Archer's home because he's recovering from the wound Saber gave him, did you bring Saber?" Rin asked

"Of course I am here, why would I ever fail to be there in Shirou's time of need, why I'm even there when he-"Saber asserted her presence

"Saber?!" She was cut off by Shirou who was blushing bright red at the mention of that memory he did not need to be reminded of.

"Back to focus, if we have Saber here, Rider shouldn't be too much trouble; she's nothing but canon fodder if Saber can handle her. We can easily handle that low-class mage if it's Shinji, remember; we haven't seen him clearly, so if it's not Shinji, don't be surprised!" Rin took control of the group and explained the situation.

The three members of the party quickly headed towards the point where all of the prana was going. It was the chemistry lab, on the 1st floor. Shirou was ready, ready to stop Shinji; and save him if he could.

What he saw on the corridor leading to the first floor shocked him beyond belief. Shinji was there, he was mocking him, Sakura was there in Shinji's arms; she was breathing faintly, and she was very pale, her body looked like it was about to give out. Shinji had a knife in his hands, he was holding it to her neck.

"You come any closer, and I'll kill her!" Shinji yelled, Rider was invisible but both Rin and Shirou were sure she was watching, lying in wait to kill one of them. Shirou gritted his teeth, if he made any obvious moves Shinji would kill Sakura, if Saber attacks then Rider deflects then Shinji had enough time to kill Sakura, if Rin called Archer with a command seal then Shinji would kill Sakura. Commanding Saber to move faster than anything could perhaps work, but he wasn't sure.

What surprised him was that Rin was the first to submit, she threw her hands up in the air. This drew Shinji to move closer to his target like an idiot, just a step, maybe two.

"If you submit to my will Rin, then kill Emiya." Shinji ordered her, pure bloodlust was emitting from her at that moment. She had to keep it in check for Sakura, or Shinji would slit her throat;she moved a step closer to Shinji, two steps and he hasn't noticed. In moving two steps toward Shinji she made sure to also move two steps toward Shirou. She passed his ear and whispered a few words as short and concise as possible.

"Play along, when close enough get Sakura, Rider is waiting so use Saber to fend her off."

Rin started off by kicking Shirou several meters, and left Saber there to keep an eye on Shinji. Saber was initially confused by this and was about to kill Rin to protect her master when she saw that Rin's gandr shots were slow and low powered and would easily miss. She realized that they were just messing about when it came to fighting. Her master had only used his reinforcement magecraft on a piece of metal nearby that was blunt anyway and could not kill Rin except by crushing her internal organs.

He ran passed them and caused aimed for an easy blow to the stomach, Rin jumped and pretended to trip on the metal rod which caused her body to fall to the ground, closer to Sakura. She grabbed Shirou using her legs and threw him over her body.

"Yes, Rin now finish Emiya off!" Shinji was having all sorts of perverted delusions so his focus on the battle wasn't too great, he was probably undressing Rin with his eyes and staring at her legs. Rin twitched as he called her by his first name again. Emiya-kun she probably wouldn't have minded, but Shinji of all people? The thought made her nauseous.

Shirou was now significantly closer, but this wasn't enough, not nearly enough to work Rin's plan, he dodged a blow to his head and rolled out of the way, his back to Shinji. Tohsaka came at him with a full blown kick to the stomach, he accepted it happily and flew all the way to Shinji's foot.

"How do you like that you bastard!" Shinji stepped on Shirou head, it would have normally made him yelp in pain, but he had many painful experiences since the beginning of the Holy Grail War. This was nothing in comparison to all of those pains he suffered when he was 'killed' by Assassin, when he was thrown around by him afterwards, when he saved Rin by ripping apart his body by time alter.

"This is nothing!" Shirou's prana flooded his circuits, as he felt a rejection; it was weak, but it was still there, as if the world hated his very being. His magic crest began to glow again, his body felt as if it had beaten time again.

"A magic crest!" Shinji's face contorted with rage, he was a Matou magus, Matou's magic lineage had died out with him so it was even more infuriating to see someone who he thought ordinary with a magic crest. He moved to slit Sakura's throat and take off her head as she lay limp in his arms.

From Shirou's perspective, time seemed to stop; Shinji moved to kill Sakura, could this be allowed to happen? No! Is this allowed to be a possibility in the future? No! Will Sakura die while Shirou is still alive? No! Memories of a great fire grazed his memories as he began to move as fast as his body possibly could, he was up and his hand was reaching Shinji own hand to stop him.

He saw Rider coming like a bullet train that was trying to run him over, but there was a solution. He could sense Rin grinning in the distance, she wanted some payback didn't she?

He grabbed the blade and removed it from Sakura's neck, he just managed to punch Shinji in the face when Rider arrived to strike him down. If Rider continued on her current path, she would blow through Sakura and himself and his efforts would be in vain, he managed to throw Sakura out of the way, but there was no time to remove himself.

He was happy, he managed to save Sakura, but the job wasn't done yet!

Rider wasn't fast enough to kill Shirou, Saber got there first and deflected her attack just in time to save Shirou.

"Shirou! Are you all right?" Saber asked worriedly, he really was pushing himself again; she wouldn't bare it if he broke again.

"I'm okay, for now deal with Rider; I'll deal with Shinji!" Shirou ran off to Shinji's scurrying figure

Saber growled, Rider was getting on her nerves, she had messed with the life of his master one too many times.

"Rider, you won't live to see the light of the next day!" Saber declared as she charged in with the Aestus Estus in her hands. Rin had started to run after Shinji as well as indicated by the fact that she was no longer there.

Shinji couldn't believe it, how could he have been fooled so easily? He should easily have been able to match the two if he had Sakura as his hostage, and Emiya was a magus with circuits? What the hell?! Too many things had just gone wrong for Matou Shinji, he swore he would get them back, but that didn't really calm him down. His head was still boiling, it was so hot that it could easily be mistaken for a very serious fever above a hundred degrees Celsius.

He realized as a gandr shot grazed his cheek, that he was facing superior opponents. That realization was of course denied by his mind in every way he could think of.

Shirou grabbed him by the collar and held him tightly against the wall, there was no escape; if he really wanted to he could horribly disfigure Shinji's face and he would have no way to prevent it.

"Shirou, keep him held, let me remove his command seals." Rin grabbed Shinji's hands and looked for the command seals. She frowned since she couldn't find any, she put her fingers on Shinji's hand and started to check for any kind of prana source connected to Shinji's body.

The sensation of Rin's fingers on my hand feel so good! So pleasurable, yes she is worthy to become my wife! Shinji's mind proceeded to go down the gutter

"Shirou, he doesn't have any command seals." Rin stated, confused.

"Tohsaka, there's a suspicious feeling book pressing against my body; Shinji shouldn't be carrying anything other than school books, but this one has a strange texture; could you check?" Shirou told Rin, who quickly pulled out the grimoire that Shinji owned.

"So this is how you did it…" Rin glared at him and burned up the grimoire

"Stop, that's proof I'm a master, if I get the Holy Grail I can become a mage, then everyone will stop looking down on me and treat like I'm something! No, I can be more than a mage; I'll be better than everyone else!" Shinji screamed insanely

"Shut up Shinji, you don't get to say that! You tried to kill Sakura, your own sister!" Shirou yelled in his face, he was utterly disgusted with Shinji, only his ideology holding him back from killing him.

"Shut up, she's mine! You should've seen that bitch when I raped her! She was so scared, she was trembling! Then I shoved her onto the bed and she couldn't fight back at all like the weakling she was!" Shinji blurted out proudly!

"Sakura…" Rin's eyes had a fire in them not unlike the fire used in forging swords, she wanted to kill him, she really really wanted to kill him! But when she looked at Shirou, her fury looked as if it meant little in comparison.

"Shinji, you bastard!" Shinji was punched hard in the face, he fell on the floor and felt a sharp knife on his throat. The tip was about to plunge deep into his skin, he could already feel the blood seeping through.

"You're not gonna kill me Emiya, you're not man enough…" Shinji laughed, Emiya was always going on about helping everyone, he was too naïve to kill him.

Shinji was right, Shirou was incapable of killing him; however Tohsaka stepped in upon seeing Shirou's inability to kill him.

"No Shinji-kun, we have something much better in mind for someone like you!" Tohsaka started smiling, she knocked him out almost immediately, Shinji was out cold and was about to go through Rin's cruelty first hand. She noticed Shirou clutching his head again, that couldn't be good; he was suffering again, it wasn't as much as before but it still damaged his head when he used his strange magecraft. She had no idea what it was or what it could do, so it was still a variable. She knew that the knife Shirou used on Shinji didn't come from any raw projection magecraft as the knife was not a construct of prana. It was almost as if the knife had always been there.

With Saber:

"Ugh, you smell like the scent of mud and you reek of corruption and evil. Still, despite this I shall dirty my hands with your blood! Come Rider, face me!" Saber beckoned, getting ready to slice Rider's head off.

"Hah, you talk big Saber, but are you actually any good in combat? I've met your master, he was pathetic and weak; and he broke himself trying to save that girl. Last time when you fought me off, you had Archer, but how well can you do against me alone!" Rider mocked her, Saber's face distorted into anger upon this.

"You can insult me who has done much sin and evil during my lifetime and I shall accept your words, but insult my master, and you're just begging to die!" Saber rushed up to Rider, who was quickly overwhelmed by her speed and attack force.

Funny enough, when it came to pure strength Rider could overwhelm her but each time she would attempt to push back against Saber, she would already be avoiding another blow.

As Rider was forced to retreat, she clinged to the wall in hopes of avoiding Saber's attacks; it would work for a time, until Saber readjusted her attacking strategy. Her sword started burning, the flame was so hot that the temperature in the local corridor was raised at least by 20 degrees Celsius; it was toned down to prevent killing her master should he come here.

"Tres Fontaine Ardente…" Her sword hit Rider's chain nail dagger, and got entangled within it, this stopped Saber's movement for about a second which Rider saw as an opening; but it was bait.

As she attempted to take Saber's head off with the nail daggers, she found her side was grazed by the flaming Aestus Estus which caused her to jump back as quickly as she could.

The burning flame tore at her sides, it caused searing pain which would make any normal person freeze up and scream. Of course Rider was a servant, so anything normal was immediately out the window.

Saber's flame was about 800 degrees Celsius, not nearly hot enough to burn iron, but enough to burn a person's skin clean off, Rider was feeling it now.

She gritted her teeth and went back into battle, but as she fought her every blow was parried, blocked and dodged. She realized by now that she couldn't beat Saber in a melee fight, blood was dripping by her sides, from her face, from her hands. She was in a desparate situation that meant that she was allowed to use a Noble Phantasm in her possession.

She took off her blindfold and revealed the twisted nature of her eyes.

"Breaker Gorgon!" It was too late for Saber to do anything, she was caught in Rider's evil mind; forced to be trapped in a world of Rider's own design.

It was a horrible dream, the world was tinted in a red hue and constantly smelled like the scent of blood. Saber found herself being chained to a machine, almost completely nude; her essence that made her a heroic spirit felt violated in this world, yet she had no choice but to comply as she was not this world's master.

It was as if the world itself willed her to be overcome by lust and pleasure as Rider attempted to please her. It was in the form of those in her memory, but she was instantly turned off when she saw their eyes in this strange dream.

"I shall not allow myself to get deceived by you, Rider! A lesser heroic spirit would have fallen, but I am the epitome of all that is greed and lust, I shall not bow down before it." The chains broke instantly as she stood up and displayed her nude body.

"What!" Rider staggered as her illusion was instantly broken almost as soon as it started. This was a fatal mistake for Rider, as she couldn't contain her surprise that a heroic spirit that so proudly displayed her nude body existed.

She attempted to block Saber, confident that she would manage to last long enough to fend Saber off with her ability in strength, but she was surprised when she was kicked in the gut and then promptly slashed in the shoulder instead of being met by her blade. Several windows had shattered and holes were absolutely everywhere, a good section of the corridor was actually missing.

Rider's essence began to fade as she blinked out of existence, Saber raised an eyebrow.

I failed to finish her in the time I was given, I'm sorry for endangering your chances again Shirou.

That was not the manner a heroic spirit dies, heroic spirits fade into nothingness; Rider jumped out of existence, it wouldn't make any sense unless Shinji had recalled her using his command seals.

She should head back to Shirou and Rin, if Rider was recalled and Shinji was still active as a master, than they couldn't survive against her, even if she was in a very weakened state.

Back with Shirou and Rin:

"I didn't kill him." Shirou stated, it was a statement not anything else; he had no emotions regarding this. He didn't feel anger or disappointment nor happiness, he just felt blank.

"Shirou, it's okay as long as Shinji doesn't trouble us again." Rin saw his blank expression and didn't want him to feel bad about himself for not being able to kill.

"But Sakura suffered so much because of Shinji, it doesn't feel right to let him get away with it." Shirou complained, as he dragged Shinji's body all over the school. Shirou had noticed that Rider's bounded field had disappeared and there was no presence of Rider.

At that point in time, Saber caught up to the two magi and informed them of what had transpired.

"I see, so Rider isn't gone… Well it's possible that Shinji wasn't the real master. Shinji didn't have any actual command seals, he may have used that grimoire as a substitute as another master gave him control of their servant… The actual master may have returned Rider using a command seals or something similar." Rin analyzed, Saber and Shirou nodded in clear understanding; however, what came next was something Shirou wasn't prepared to hear.

Tohsaka Rin didn't like the situation, nor did she want to tell them the harsh truth, as it was a horrible one that shouldn't have happened. It was unthinkable to think that she had overlooked so much during the planning stages of the war.

"Shirou, this is just a possibility; but I think Sakura might be the real master. Shinji is a pathetic wimp who can't do anything out of his own power. There's no way that he could be a proper master as he doesn't have functional magic circuits. Without any power there's no way he could force someone to give up their servant's control. The only one who ever listens to him is Sakura. It's just a theory, but prepare for it in case it happens in reality." Rin gave out a lengthy explanation for her theory.

Shirou was utterly shocked and really hoped to keep people close to him from getting involved in the grail war, but there were some inconsistencies in Rin's explanation. How would Sakura become a master and not Shinji if they're both from the Matou lineage? Didn't the Matou lineage's magic circuits die out?

"Tohsaka, didn't the Matou lineage's magic circuits die out? So how could Sakura become a master?" Shirou asked suspiciously, Tohsaka was hiding something; something really important.

"Sakura is a special case, she wasn't born from the Matou family; she was adopted. The truth is… she was actually the daughter of the head of the Tohsaka family when she was younger." Rin confessed, still trying to hide her involvement with Sakura.

"Tohsaka, aren't you the head of the Tohsaka family? Then doesn't that mean the last head was your father? Then that means…" Shirou was cut off his conclusion by Rin

"Yes… Sakura and I are sisters." Tohsaka stated, she didn't care anymore; this grail war was only going from bad to worse. First she had to deal with Assassin, the anomaly called Emiya Shirou, Saber, Rider, a near death experience against Berserker, and finally today Shinji. She felt nothing but murderous intent towards Shinji and wanted to kill him for all he was worth, but first she would make him suffer. That disgusting fool!

"Then did you know about Sakura?" Shirou pierced Rin with a gaze so sharp it felt like he was looking into her soul.

"No, she was sent away when we were really young; all I knew was that she was adopted by the Matou lineage as I was already the heir of the Tohsaka family." Tohsaka stated without any traces of uncertainty, Shirou was suspicious of her and that was a bad thing.

Shirou said no more as the ambulance was called, all of the unconscious bodies were being lifted onto mats or being put into hospital beds. Shinji's own body, however was nowhere to be seen. Rin wiped the sweat of her forehead as she unloaded Sakura onto a hospital bed.

Shirou could not oppose Tohsaka's decision to throw Shinji in her dungeons and he didn't particularly want to. He was really mad at Shinji, and truth be told; only his ideology kept him from killing Shinji after all the horrible things he had done. Only because he wanted to follow ideals that he thought were beautiful.

Shirou was helping Tohsaka carry Shinji on the long way to her house, it really helped that she made Shinji's body invisible or it would look like they were kidnapping someone. To them they really thought that they were staying the blade that chops Shinji's head off.

As they reached a point close to the Matou and Tohsaka houses, the sun was already setting beautifully; in fact it was captivating enough that Shirou took a moment to bathe in the sunlight. Rin was a bit annoyed by this and gestured him to hurry up and get going. Shirou nodded obediently and did what he was told.

They reached the slope that lead to Tohsaka's mansion, as they began walking up they saw an old bald man standing there, as if he was waiting for them to come. Their instincts flared as they got ready for battle, Rin was pointing her finger at the old man while Shirou was doing something different.

"Reality Shatter!" Rider's chain nail dagger rested firmly in his hands, however he was again overcome by the glaring headache that ate away at his soul. His body language became shaky as he tried to stay strong instead of being consumed and overcome by the headache.

"Boy, Girl, I did not come here to fight; I only came here for my grandson. So if you don't mind delivering him to me so I can decide his punishment for his foolishness, please do so." The figure spoke, he was less than five feet tall and possessed a walking stick. The moment Shirou saw him, he felt a horrible sense of darkness or evil in the man and sensed that he wasn't to be trusted at all. Staring at that man was equivalent to staring at a dying, decrepit zombie whose skin was peeling off even in the moment.

"Matou Zouken…" Rin glared, she didn't want to deal with this snaky old man and his troublesome existence; it would be much better for the entire universe if the old man just decided to kill himself in some corner, he had lived his time after all.

"Ah, it's good that you remember me, Tohsaka heir; however, I did not come for idle banter; I came to retrieve this foolish grandson of mine." Zouken got back to the point

"Why should we even bother giving you Shinji? Listen, if you want Shinji; then come and take him... Old man, I'm sure that you can sense Saber right behind us! So don't try anything smart." Tohsaka was confident she had the upper hand, but the old man Matou Zouken just smiled. Rin was confused, why was he smiling? He was facing a servant, and one and a half competent magi; he should at least show some discomfort.

"It seems you've forced my hand young Tohsaka, you're quite good at playing this game with this old man, but unfortunately I have one card I can play in this situation." Zouken grinned creepily, Saber raised her eyebrow as Zouken began to reveal more shocking things.

"I have your sister's life in my palm…"

That was when Shirou snapped.

END

I'm actually quite satisfied with this chapter, the next won't have any action though. (probably).

Matou Shinji: Fake Master (Rider): Alive [?]

Matou Sakura (Assumed)(Rider): Alive [2(Assumed]

Illyasviel Von Einzbern (Berserker): Alive [?]

?: Alive (True Assassin) [?]

?: Alive (Caster) [?]

[]=Number of command seals

See you next time, there won't be an extra this time as I don't want to depress anyone with a super depressing extra. I'll probably add it later in the future. In this chapter I seem to be walking into some kind of weird mixed up Heaven's Feel route.

It really looks like I can't make up my mind doesn't it? First Unlimited Blade Works, then Heaven's Feel, now what? Fate? Don't worry, the reason why I have to go into this stuff is actually because of Shirou, not Sakura.

However, admittedly I liked Heaven's Feel quite a lot. So many badass Shirou moments that I hope get animated in the movie(s?). Like Sparks Liner High, the Superhero ending, Nine Lives Bladeworks (This is obviously going to get animated), Shirou+Rider vs Saber Alter (Also getting animated), Shirou vs Kotomine (Getting animated), and Shirou projects the final Excalibur and dies.

Although my hype now goes to ufotable's UBW which is almost at Shirou vs Archer, and Shirou vs Gil is gonna be awesome.

Anyway, I'm done rambling, until next chapter.
