Whoa…been some while since I updated this story, I just really needed a break, hence why I started my DigimonxBleach story in the cross over section, truth be told it isn't near as popular as this story but then again it's just for me to pull some random ideas.

Anyway I'll be honest I never expected this story itself to become as popular as it has, but sometimes a little time is needed to keep the creativity flowing, you know?

Let's get this set then…I do not own Digimon or Assassins creed, they both belong to Toeo animation and Pattrice Desilets/Ubisoft and forever to remain not mine in any shape or form…that's depressing.

Action!

O O O

The day continued to be a cold crisp one as an early morning dew remained, coating most exposed obscurities. But much like most things, these obscurities will always appear much more they seem. This day concluded with the sun beginning to peak over a few loose clouds in the distance, its warm inviting rays of light slowly beginning to push the cold chill from the air.

Adam in particular was thinking much along those lines of thought as he sat over a currently inactive railway tunnel. He sat cross legged while enjoying a small bowl of 'rice porridge'- or better known to the locals as okayu- along with a nice sized piece of broiled salmon, otherwise known as 'horse mackerel'.

The names sounded much more unpleasant then they tasted really, or that's what he thought as he bit down another piece of fish, enjoying the fact that he had only ordered it lightly salted. He'd been sitting up on the tunnel for a good portion of an hour already simply not taking having five fingers for granted.

It really amazed him how such simple things in life make all the difference, not to mention going out into (lightly) populated areas again remained a small plus.

Bringing the small bowl of porridge to his mouth Adam sipped what remained of his relatively cheap meal; though you wouldn't ever hear him say it…most people were more than willing to donate some of their hard earned money for his cause.

Letting out a content sigh, his hunger stated for the moment Adam untied the small piece of rope that ran its way around his cloak covered torso. A little bit of light shuffling and the main cause of his problems smoothly slid back into his hands. Unclasping the rope from the yellow object Adam left his eyes trail over the mask again, for what seemed like the millionth time today.

No matter how many times though, it always brought a small shiver up his spine…it was so much more than it ever appeared.

The suns early morning rays seemed to reflect off it equally yellow fur giving it an almost majestic appeal. Dropping the mask back down towards his lap Adam blew a small strand of brown hair that managed to make it into his line of sight. I suppose if life was easy there wouldn't be any real meaning, he thought silently.

Leaning back on his hands he left his gaze drift up towards the sky above, most of the clouds by this point were beginning to part leaving the sun to cast a beautiful pink and violet hue among the once white stragglers.

It had been some time since he had the chance to enjoy something like this; he'd almost forgotten what it felt like to be honest. As he continued to watch the sunrise something black flashed over at the very far corner of his eyes.

Remaining still Adam ever so slowly turned his head in the direction of the cause of movement. If he were the religious type what he saw afterwards would have been enough to call the 6th trumpet of god.

The form of a small black demon like being was currently perched right next to him, a seemingly devious smirk plastered on its white colored face. Adam sat there in slight shock before he began to gaze over the creature; it was dressed in a red bandana seemingly raped around its neck with matching colored gloves, not to mention the menacing grinning yellow face on its stomach…

His thoughts were cut short though when it finally decided to speak up, "what got ya so jumpy? It's little early for a human like you to be trickier treating ha-ha."

Adam only managed to raise an eyebrow at the little creature or from the smell that was coming off of it in waves…a digimon.

With no time to pull his hood up Adam quickly grasped hold of the yellow mask and rolled away from the imposing digimon. The creature in question's smirk if possible only intensified, as it or rather he sounding by the voice, jumped off the small concrete ledge and down to where Adam had been sitting not a moment before.

"You know," the digimon began, "you humans are all the same, all yell and no ounce of fight in ya. I'm kinda surprised you haven't already started running off already, so for what little respect I already don't have for ya's I'm almost impressed." By this point Adam watched as the little digimon began to purposely try to intimidate him as a small glowing fire ball began to take shape on the tip of one of his fingers.

Clasping the mask back to its rope Adam watched the digimon in almost…contempt seemingly intrigued that the thing even wanted to chat at all. The words it stated about him or human kind in general almost seeming forced…bitter.

Deciding to take a chance Adam spoke calmly as to not provoke it, "Do you happen to have a name?"

The digimon in question blinked seemingly taken back by the question, "Maybe I do, but what's it to ya?"

Remaining his calm composure Adam put his hands up into what he tried to show as a none threatening posture, "It seems you could do with me as you will even if I would try to run, so at the very least I would wish to know my endings name," Adam stated simply.

The digimon remained standing in its position apparently stupefied till the soft pop of its glowing fire ball going out broke it from its trance. "Well…about damn time someone noticed my strength."

Adam could only watch as the small waist high digimon seemingly bloated with confidence, its mouth slightly turning into more of a smile then that shit eating grin for only a second or two as it began to make its way closer to the assassin.

Stopping a couple feet short of Adam the digimon glanced up to lock eyes with him, "The names Impmon and don't you forget it!"

Keeping his hands out in the open for the digi…Impmon, Adam slowly began to kneel down to the digimon's height. This caused Impmon's eyes to widen in surprise lightly and take a few cautious steps back, the small red fire ball being quickly brought back to life with a snap of its fingers.

"You can call me Adam if you want, Impmon."

This caused Impmon to scoff, "I already know who you are cloak boy, it's not hard to tell seeing you smell like that human loving digimon fox-face."

Ignoring the nickname he was just given the gears in Adam's head began to turn already hoping he wasn't found out so soon, but with a little luck maybe he could turn this into an advantage.

"Were you spying on us then?"

"What…no!" the little digimon grimaced lightly as he continued, "I could smell you a mile away easy and it's not like toots ain't the least attractive smelling digimon around."

If Impmon could have looked inside of Adams head at that moment he would have been rolling around like fool laughing his ass off, seeing as how Adam mentally paled at being mistaken for Renamon…not per say some of her unique scent hadn't stayed with him, but…well you get the point.

Coughing into his hand Adam tried to currently ignore a few lonely thoughts that somehow happened to make their way into his mind. Ok…that could have possibly gone a little better.

Catching onto what he had just admitted out loud, a light pink hue began to take form under Impmon's dark green eyes causing him to stutter his next words, "W..why..I..I..should badda boom you into next week for tricking me like that you stinking human!"

It would have almost been considered funny if one were to watch as Impmon's face suddenly went from a light red hue to an easy scarlet glaze as the tiny digimon used his own anger to push through his current embarrassment, the once more briefly flickering orange flame upon his fingertip quickly becoming a solid mass once more before he threw it with the yell of badda boom!

Seeing as how Adam had been half flustered himself, not to mention all but a couple short meters in distance, he only had a brief second to bring both his arms up to cover his face. Closing his eyes he felt the attack impact his given garbs before the heat began flashing past the sides of his face scorching some of the stubble that was quickly forming a small 5' o-clock shadow.

A couple of seconds passed before Adam opened his eyes again, the pain he had been pre-expecting never even seemingly becoming existent. Letting his guard down he left his gaze lock back to where the digimon now stood, a shocked look now plastered across its face.

"How did ya…" Impmon stuttered as he rubbed the two of his eyes, seemingly still unable to grasp what just transpired.

Looking down towards his white cloak Adam stared down at the fabric that covered his arms, noting a few scorched fabric strands but none the less worse for wear. Looking back up towards the digimon Adam began to stand, figuring some things best unsaid or rather unknown for the time being.

Using the moment as leverage towards the stunned digimon Adam began to close the distance between them within a few quick strides. This caused Impmon's eyes to shut in clearly announced fear seeing as if he could easily be staring death right in the face at this exact moment.

What he didn't expect though was the weight of a hand to be settled upon his shoulder, this causing Impmon to wince lightly. Opening his eyes the digimon looked up to see the grinning face of the assassin, "Here Impmon," it spoke calmly.

Still in shock Impmon hesitantly looked down, noting the humans hand held…food? Letting a sharp glare trace his features as he looked back up at the cloaked man Impmon then frowned briefly, "I don't need your stinking charity hum…." A lowly sounding growl abruptly vibrated from the digimon's stomach causing the Impmon to quickly cross his arms in shame, while he turned his head to the side, the light flush reappearing quite noticeably over his white coated face.

Adam couldn't help but let a small smile form on his lips at the digimon's antics, he really wasn't really all that much different than a regular human child.

Impmon for his part kept his head turned towards the side, not liking the fact of showing such a weakness to anyone…especially a human. Too bad the next thing he knew he felt something grabbing his gloved hand causing him to involuntary flinch yet again at the action yet the next thing he knew something was being placed in the palm of said gloved hand.

Turning his head back as his hand was let go of, he now noticed something large in his gloved hands said grasp. Looking down he noticed a small bag of, "Sweet bread," he mumbled. For what reason had he earned something like this for? This had to be a trick of some sort, last time he checked all humans were good for was taking up empty space…or maybe some park fun when he was feeling bored, but not this.

Opening the bag he even expected it to be some type of poison, but as he took a quick inhale, to his rather relief…or disappointment he quite wasn't positive…it was free of such nauseating aromas. Looking back up he noticed the figure now had its hood pulled back up and was walking away, just like that.

Looking back down at the food Impmon whispered something he never thought he would, "why would you do something like this to someone who wanted to get rid of you?"

Adam who was now currently reaching the side of the building stopped, "You look like the type who liked sweets, nothing more, nothing less."

A thoughtful look passed over Impmon's face from the simple act of kindness, "Hey bub!" He then shouted.

Turning his head to the side briefly Adam left his lighter shaded green eyes gaze back, "Hmm."

Impmon immediately caught the assassin's gaze, "Don't think this changes anything but…," his eyes then briefly lingered down towards his feet for a moment before looking back up with a following quick flicking of his wrist.

This time instead of forming the small fire ball that always seemed to be his trade mark fire attack, a simple red bandana much like Impmon himself wore wrapped around his neck appeared, a very simple small black Japan style demon symbol placed in around its edge.

"Here," Impmon simply stated before rolling the red fabric into a small ball and tossing it to Adam who easily caught it in his hand.

"you can now say were even…"

Catching what was being said without words the assassin spoke, "Adam…just Adam's fine Impmon."

Grunting in confirmation Impmon continued, "Well…Adam you can now say were even of sort and…," he hesitated a moment before putting his rather confused thoughts to word, "for a stinking human…maybe your worth talking too."

Tightening the red bandana around his left arm Adam smiled back, "And maybe for being a waist high digimon you're tougher then you look."

Ignoring the loud shout of, hey! Adam jumped off the roof ledge also noting of the words being sputtered of, no respect around here, before catching himself on an incoming window ledge and angling himself so he could rebound off another ledge and kick off towards the ground safely below.

Landing in a crouch as a loud thud followed, his cloak fluttering lightly as it settled itself. Standing back up he looked over towards the bandana given to him on his left arm, noting a small grinning yellow face with sharp teeth. This day just kept getting stranger and stranger, and that was putting it lightly seeing as how this all seemed unbelievable to begin with.

"That's enough of thinking like that for the time being, I'll have plenty of time for it later, for now I should be trying to find Renamon. I take most tamers and digimon normally have some kind of common trait in this world…if only small. In my own behalf it may only be a simple hypothesis but it's the best I have to go on for the time being," Adam could only sigh at the current predicament, "from what I've seen both seem Ruki and Renamon appear to be incredibly head strong…not exactly good for this type of situation."

Knowing Renamon she most likely was trying to remain secluded and away from any prying eyes…if possible probably more so than normal. Adam could only sigh at this while he thought back to how large Shinjuku truly was…but…as he was just debating briefly to himself, if his hypothesis was in any way correct Renamon would still be trying to keep some type of eye on Ruki…even if she wasn't the type to openly reveal her intentions around her partner.

"She's most likely around the park area, it is only a short walk from Ruki's house after all," he spoke quietly to himself.

Standing back up Adam briefly brushed any loose dirt that somehow managed to gather itself over the dark fabric of his cloak, feeling his hand brush up against the strange mask still placed around his torso Adam couldn't help but look down into its once more lifeless eyes.

But even worse…if Renamon or Ruki ever found out what he really was, he knew nothing would ever be the same and any trust that had been build over the last couple of days would have been for nothing. His objective he grudgingly accepted from Seiko a main priority at the moment as well, his self satisfaction or rather his emotional wants were sadly not. When both he and Seiko agreed on a contract there was supposed to be nothing that could break it…unless death was an outcome, which seemed completely plausible despite this worlds seemingly less misgivings compared to his own, or was it just his own subconscious saying that? He didn't know at this point.

"The only thing that can be considered fact at this point and time is that I'm a guardian of a stubborn red haired girl…and a fox girl creature who can't seem to make up her mind if she should kill me or not for intruding on her partners life…not that I can say I can blame her to a point but still…"

Plucking the mask from around his shoulder Adam couldn't help but massage the side of his temple, already feeling a headache beginning to form, "the only reason I ever even agreed to this whole situation was because Seiko seemed so desperate, as if she knew me. Nothing was ever said but she almost treated me as if I were her son to some extent…if taking in a fox guy in counts."

"But maybe I'm looking at this from the wrong angle, maybe be I should just look at it from my own perspective instead of trying to place myself in another's position. So far from what I can gather Seiko must have known an assassin at some point and time but the question remains…who? Even Ruki seemed a rather to open with a stranger and I can only suspect she too isn't telling the whole story. Renamon too seemed rather miffed by this outcome, she even seemed more in disbelief then I had been. Seiko only mentioned about someone like me watching over them for a brief time but it couldn't have been truly that long ago if jugging by Ruki's age had anything to go by…maybe they met on within the last 5 years at best? I have to find out where they had met one, maybe…something can be figured out with this situation with Juno returning."

Flipping the mask over in-between his fingers Adam stared at the things muzzle, its bright yellow fur now seeming more lifelike then it had just the day prior. Its once seemingly black painted nose now sporting a more wet appearance as it slightly glossed in the incoming sunlight.

'Spesenimmundumfieri, oportet simulesseuerametvelle sacrificiumvelittempusintendereQuilibet versusfoveamdesperationis.'

Adam jumped back as these feminine words seemingly spoke through his mind, yet his grasp on the yellow mask never seemed to come into question as his knuckles began to turn white, "W…what the?"

'Quiapueres: Nolite expavescere: eodem.Tuquidemobtinerinon imponatde filiisvestrisinhocaget, ut adinvitaspatiumfinitum.'

The words were in early Latin that much he knew, though only a chosen few ever cared to learn the language in itself. Lucky for him he happened to be such a person, more or less it was required when wanting to keep things from becoming to noticeable to soon. Most would have to go to a translator to even begin to understand buying the user much needed time.

Shakily Adam forced himself to relax before replying to the strange voice in his head, "what do you mean by obtaining what had been lost to others of my kind?"

Adam waited a few moments before the seemingly female voice decided to reply, VivamusaliquamReviewsquidamnosmoriin bello, cum idoneumtempus, inhoc mundosumus, videtur iustusfragmentis.

"We live and we die but our worlds are the same? How are we connected then…"

'Tertiumantiquosciantentium...such need to know our history. From dawn to dusk, from life to death we all our part of something much bigger then what appears to be. We…us as digital life forms have been around much longer than any human could come to apprehend.'

Adam was for his part was left in a rather miffed state of mind as the voice finished, its tone seemingly taking on a more desperate state as it finished.

Once more feeling the soft yellow fur along the masks features Adam couldn't help but question, "How did…you become what you are? Are you a digimon of some type? Or rather something that Juno has cooked up for me?"

'The one who you know as Juno is not what she appears…Adam. But as to your first question I am indeed a digimon but yet I am not, I've become something far more yet much less. I was once a being that lived in what you beings know as the dark ages…I was cursed, I was banished, few of my pups managed to live through the onslaught despite our natural resistance.'

"So you're a damn digimon using me to gain your independence then!? And what the hell do you mean by died with a lack of resistance?"

'Relax young pup all will make itself known in due time as to how everything became the way it was destined to be. But as to your first question…no I will not and I simply choose not to contribute to any foul un-needed violence and any un-honorable deeds. If you want your question simply answered I'll just move to the point pup.'

"Stop calling me pup already! I have enough with Renamon teasing me with it as it is…" Adam could then hear what almost sounded like a…giggle in the back of his mind as he finished while simultaneously grumbling to himself.

'
Compared to me you simply are a pup both in body and mind, it is the same reason why Renamon has given you such a nickname. You simply act as if you where a newborn at times, by any Renamon culture standards you are not even considered an adult till you reach the age of 25 and thus you fit her bill perfectly in more ways than one.'

'But back to the point at hand, simply put…I choose you. But before you begin to think anything out worldly then this already may appear to be…wait. I did not choose you because you where weak minded quite the contrary honestly but your skills play little into this as well. I choose you over billions of people in our world because your essence is pure much like my own you have a spirit that few could ever hope to have. To make this clear to your perspective Adam we are simply one in the same…both driven by instinct and pushed on by fear of the unknown. You are the sword that wants to fight back while I am the shield that wishes to protect all around us. Our spirits are slowly becoming one so from here on out let me be your guide. Together we will be able to do great things in both the present and the very near future.'

Backing up against a nearby wall Adam couldn't help but to begin to collapse to the ground at the suddenly revealed information. Things were starting to make sense now, the heightened smell while in human form, the hearing as well. Was that the reason why he felt as natural as a digimon? The pheromones he noticed the first night he tried to make Renamon submit in a choke hold…the strange domination feelings that seemed to force themselves to the surface as he held her down…her half lidded eyes as she pushed up against him in her original attempt to get him off of her. Was it the reason her normally cold and aloof attitude could be broken so easily when he was around her?

It was overwhelming to say the least and it was only seemingly made worse by the fact that Renamon's mind was basically being overwhelmed by hormones being released by that fucking teenage fox body of his…and he didn't even notice it! Hell he had no idea if there was even a way to control it!

'What did I say about relaxing pup, the voice in his head chided him like a mother scolding a fussing child, there was nothing you could have done at the time to begin with, our spirits were still in a primitive state of combination yet and nether one of us had any control of our actions.'

"You don't get it do you!" Adam mentally shouted, "Us as in I could have raped her without a second thought, if that fox body can even be considered male by the way!"

'Idiot…'

"What did you call me!"

'I said Idiot…I..d..i..o..t, get it, love it, leave it. You never gave me the chance to explain the situation pup,' the voice mocked.

'First and foremost, in the digital world it is the female that chooses the potential mate not the male counterpart. She must have seen some type of potential in you for whatever reason, or she could have been possibly looking for a quick mating session as well, but that's highly unlikely with a more sophisticated digimon such as the Renamon species. They as in we have become very selective with any possible partner. Secondly you know what you are yet and shall remain as such, though I myself may be female that sheath hidden between the fur of your legs is something most male canine digimon have, and from what you have encountered from your little experience with Renamon…when that selective area is instigated a object akin to a bulbous c….'

The rest of what the voice within his mind was quickly tuned out by Adam as his eyes screwed tight, a small bead of sweat also forming along the side of his head.

"Ach! Shut up about that already I'm sick hearing about it as it is!"

'You humans truly are prude creatures you'd figure hearing about…'

"I said shut it damn it..."

'Well I never…if you wouldn't stop thinking about it I'd almost say you were a perv…'

"Fuck me….I hate you already." Adam could only hear the voice giggling almost uncontrollably back in the farthest reaches of his mind.

"Why couldn't you have just stayed that silent voice of reason I could use."

'Because pup…digimon are playful in nature, not to mention I'd like to see you survive being hung on a wall for more than a few hundred years. But overall wears the fun in remaining all silent? Don't worry too much pup, I'll be more of a voice of reason of sort, and by looking back on your memories, my experience with the Renamon species will more the likely help you.'

"You should already know I can't like an animal that way!"

'Excuses…excuses pup, remember our little chat about how we are now both one in the same being? I would almost find being called an animal an insult if I didn't think you so ignorant.'

"Don't remind me. Just let me find Renamon in relative peace…please."

'I'll only stop once you stop looking like a panicked wreck sniveling up to a brick wall, you're really embarrassing yourself.'

Adam who was now sitting and shivering uncontrollably up ageanst the old wall abruptly yelped as his eyes snapped open, his irises now dilated and almost immediately beginning a quick scan about. Seeing nothing from the normal, side from a few sparrows squawking overhead Adam couldn't help but wonder.

"How did any of that just happen?"
