Chapter Seven: Sloth

The apartment the Winx shared was full of people. Stella wasn't playing when she said she quit the Winx. Eventually she meant that she quit being their friends. Now she was back on Solaria fully assuming her role as princess. Her servants started doing everything for her. The last real move she made was making a magical list of all her stuff. Her workers from Solaria got her things. In a half a day they had moved all of her things to her room back on Solaria. There was one thing Stella tossed out, the portrait of her painted by Helia! She demanded it out of her sight! She sighed and looked out the window. It was gorgeous, but she didn't feel like going out. She looked through her phone. She was tempted to call Brandon, but didn't know what to say. There was so much she had to clear up and apologize for. She breezed through her acquaintances and settled on the H's. Helia... Stella clutched her phone, but didn't call. He'd been avoiding her. Why did this happen? Why couldn't she have just left well enough alone? She knew the answer to that. She wanted all or nothing. Right now that's all she had. Nothing...

Meanwhile...

Brandon hadn't left his room in days. Most of the time he slept. When he was awake he would get lost in television. He hadn't really eaten since the break up. He was surprised at how badly he was functioning. It would get under his skin, but then thoughts of what he'd lost brought him back to bed. He needed the distraction. He couldn't stop thinking of her smile, her walk, the way her hair fluttered in the wind and the sweet scent of her shampoo. Brandon didn't understand. He tried to think of something he did or any type of sign. There wasn't any. He didn't know why. He wasn't sure if he was insane or depressed.

There was a knock on his window. At first he was going to ignore it, but it grew persistent. Brandon looked up to see Stella flying outside his window. He frowned at her, but got up to let her inside. Stella floated down and sat on the edge of his bed. Brandon looked away. Why did she have to look so perfect all the time? Stella started bawling. He couldn't hear anything she said through her tears. Part of him was happy to see her this way, distraught and in pain. He doubted that it scratched the surface to how he felt. She wiped her face and brought her knees to her chin. She looked so vulnerable and exposed, before Brandon knew it, she was in his arms. Wordlessly, they slept into the next day.

"...I can forgive you." Brandon said brushing her hair from her face. "If it was just something physical and not love, we can try again."

"Oh Brandon, I don't deserve to be forgiven." Tears fell from Stella's golden tinted eyes. "If we got back together, I'd only hurt you again."

"Why'd you cheat on me? I thought we were better than this, you're better than this."

Stella closed her eyes. "There's no big explanation, Brandon. I'm selfish."

"Stella-"

She cut him off. "That's the truth, honey love. I did love you, I do. It's just this, us, isn't something I need right now because even I have no idea why I did it. And until I can figure it out, I'm no good to you or anyone."

"So we're breaking up?"

"Yes... I still want you in my life, Brandon. You're one of the few people that truly get me. And I... Did I ruin our friendship too?"

Brandon sighed. "Yeah, unfortunately, you did."

Flora walked to the park and climbed a tree. She tried going to Helia's apartment, but she'd chickened out and stayed in a safe zone instead. She'd been doing that for the past few weeks. She knew things were over, she just wanted her explanation. Stella's taunts still plagued her. Was she really so weak that she caused Helia to cheat? Was it because she didn't give him sex? She leaned against the trunk and sighed. She had no more tears to cry. Now, she was just tired.

"Would you like some company?" Flora looked down to see Sky below her. He waved at her. She turned away. She wasn't the happiest towards blondes anymore.

"Hi Sky..."

Sky climbed the tree and sat next to her. He looked out at the sunset and thought about his words carefully. "Before I met Bloom, I was engaged. She was smart, poised, and beautiful, but that didn't stop me from dating Bloom."

"...That was different. You were in an arraigned marriage and Diaspro was-"

"smart, poised, beautiful, rich, skillful, resourceful, talented..."

"Sky..."

"You can be the world, Flora, but that doesn't mean your partner will be faithful. It was a choice he made. You didn't make him do anything." Flora was wrong, she could cry more. Two thin tears escaped. Sky wiped them away. "You're a wonderful girl Flora. You're one of the kindest, sweetest people I know."

Flora felt her heat skip a beat. She looked into Sky's blue eyes and found nothing, but sincerity. She looked away. "You should go back home o-or to Bloom."

"I'm where I should be. You were there to help me out with my dilemma. I wanted to do the same for you."

Sky put his arm around her shoulder and rubbed her arm in comfort. Flora leaned on him and watched the sunset too. Flora's heart raced and knew she would have to fly home. It would be too intimate to walk home with him. It disturbed her to think that way. She felt as if she were worse than Helia and Stella. That moment with Sky was way more intimate than all the sex Helia had with Stella.

(A/N) Like I said, no Brandon/Flora. I can't help it. I love Sky/Flora.
