Disclaimer: I own nothing!

So as we know Ahsoka has returned! I'm glad to see that she'll be apart of the Rebels! I can't wait to see the confrontation between her and Vader!

The hustle of the party was getting lively as more and more of the guests arrived, as it turned out the atmosphere of a party was the only thing needed to bring down the hostility levels between the two opposing governments. It was a beautiful setting, crystal chandeliers, which set off the red and gold tapestries and curtains which hung from the ceilings as well as a string quartet playing softly in the background.

Ahsoka was nervous and shy at first being in an unfamiliar setting, but when she ran into Senator Chuchi as well as a few acquaintances, she began to lighten up. She made sure not to stray too far from Anakin or Padme. Pretty soon, she was attracting more and more guests with her wit and sense of humor.

Quite a few of the people who approached her were young bachelors, a few were even bold enough to ask her to dance. But before she could answer Anakin had chased them away with a glare, and a subtle gesture to his lightsaber.

"Oh come on now Anakin," Padme complained, "That boy was perfectly harmless."

"His eyes were everywhere except for Ahsoka's face." Anakin said. "He's almost as bad as the senator from Voss."

"What was wrong with him?" Padme asked.

"He was twice her age!" Anakin snapped.

"Anakin he was 21." Padme said.

"He's still too old for her."

"That's the exact age difference between us."

"That's different!"

"How so?" Padme raised a brow.

"It just is!" Anakin was turning red in the face. "She's too young for any of this."

"Anakin, she's a teenage girl," Padme said, "She'll be sixteen soon, an adult in Togrutan culture."

"Thankfully we don't live by the Togrutan standards." Anakin said, "Oh great here comes another one."

He started to make his way over to Ahsoka, only to have Padme grab his arm hold him back, when she realized who it was.

"Anakin Skywalker, you leave that girl alone!" She hissed, "Let her be a teenager for once in her life and have a little fun!"

"I'm not letting a Separatist boy get anywhere near her!" Anakin hissed.

"His name is Lux and he's a perfectly nice boy." Padme defended, "He was quite the gentleman to her this afternoon."

"This afternoon?" Anakin questioned, "What was she doing with him this afternoon?"

Padme cursed herself for her careless words.

"He took her on a carriage ride and the fair." Padme explained realizing there was no taking her words back.

Anakin was silent for a moment.

"She was on a DATE! With a SEPARATIST!" Anakin nearly cried, "That's it, she's never leaving my sight again. I'll lock her in her room and find the nearest black hole to throw that boy in."

"Keep your voice down!" Padme hissed, barely able to hold him back, "And don't you think you're overreacting just a bit."

"I just found out my padawan went on a date with a SEPARATIST boy, how am I supposed to react!?" Anakin growled.

"It was perfectly innocent Anakin," Padme rolled her eyes, "it's not like they exchanged marriage vows with one another."

Anakin's eyes comically widened, and doubled his efforts to separate the two teenagers.

"Vows? Who said anything about vows! That's it, I'm killing him. She's too young and she has her whole life ahead of her that isn't going to be ruined by some boy marrying her!"

"Hello Pot, my name is Kettle." Padme quipped. "Don't you think you're the last person to be taking a stance against marriage?"

"Padme."

"Anakin," Padme emphasized, "Your concern for Ahsoka is touching but you need to loosen your grip just a little bit. She's not a child anymore, like or not she's blossoming into a beautiful young woman."

"Not, definitely not." Anakin muttered.

Satine was in a deep conversation with Obi-wan, chuckled at Anakin's reactions.

"I see your Padawan is as…enthusiastic as always." She said gesturing to Anakin and Padme.

Obi-wan looked over and saw what Padme was doing, and smiled himself. "It's always entertaining to watch him when he teaches his own Padawan.

"The Togrutan girl right?" she asked, gesturing to Ahsoka, "I've met her briefly when exchanging greetings with Senator Amidala, she seems lovely."

"Yes, she is." Obi-wan agreed. "Inside and out, she's one of our best assets in the Order."

"It's such a shame that someone so young is involved in such a brutal war." Satine commented.

Obi-wan sighed, "You know the obligations of the Jedi Satine."

"But to go so far as to include children?" Satine questioned. "You and I both know that there was a time when Jedi were above such things."

"These are different times." Obi-wan sighed again, "Which forces us to make unfortunate compromises."

"At what cost?"

Obi-wan had no answer for that.

Ahsoka was just finishing one of her tales about her training sessions with the clones, when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned to see it was Lux.

"I didn't think you'd be here." He said.

"Padme wouldn't stop pestering me until I agreed to come," Ahsoka said, shrugging her shoulders, "Once she sets her mind to something there's no stopping her."

"She learned from the best." Lux chuckled. "My mother nearly twisted my arm getting me here."

Ahsoka giggled, the image popping into her head.

"I see you've opted out of wearing your Jedi uniform again." Lux quipped. Not being able to take his eyes off of her.

"Ugh, I knew it." Ahsoka said putting her hand in front of her face, "I look ridiculous don't I?"

"No," Lux was quick to rebut her, "Ridiculous is definitely not one of the things I would use to describe you."

"Awkward, weird, out of place?" Ahsoka joked.

'Radiant, stunning, gorgeous.' Lux thought.

"You look beautiful." Lux said, being straightforward for once.

Ahsoka looked at him in surprise and realized he was sincere. Her lekkus began to darken and there was a light blush on her cheeks.

"Thanks." She whispered.

The lights suddenly darkened, and a huge spot light went to the stage in the ballroom. Everyone turned to see the band come to the stage. Ahsoka and Lux were surprised to see that it was Twilight, the same band that was at the fair.

"Alright Ladies and gentlemen now that we've arrived, the party can officially begin." He said, the crowd chuckled appreciatively at the joke. "We're going to start things a little slow tonight, so I want every man in the room to grab a special lady and lead them to the first dance of the night."

The beginning notes of the piano started playing and the quartet played along. Little by little couples started moving to the dance floor.

Anakin smiled at Padme and held out his arm, "Shall we dance milady?

Padme giggled and took the proffered arm following him to the dance floor.

Satine looked towards the dance floor, and then to Obi-wan.

"I have an inkling to join the others in this dance, would you care to join me?"

"Oh, I-I really shouldn't." Obi-wan began.

"Come now Obi-wan," Satine said, "I'm sure one dance wouldn't hurt you, even your Padawan is joining the festivities."

"Satine, I-"

"Please Obi-wan." Satine asked.

And those two undid him.

Lux cleared his throat to help with his nervousness and held out his hand, "Would you like to dance?"

Ahsoka was almost too shocked to speak but recovered quickly. "It's been a while since I've danced, I don't think I'd be a very good partner."

It was partly true, Ahsoka had been out of practice since Mo'at had died.

Lux smiled softly, "Don't worry, just follow my lead."

Ahsoka was reluctant at first, but then she saw Anakin and Padme going to the dance floor, as well as Obi wan and Satine. Even Mina was dancing with Senator Organa.

"Alright." She said.

He took his hand in hers and lead her to the dance floor, they picked a spot and he took one of his hands in hers and put the other on her waist, she put her arm on his shoulder. Once the singer started the song, they began to start the waltz.

You're in my arms, and all the world is calm
The music playing on for only two
So close together, and when I'm with you
So close to feeling alive

It was tentative and slow at first, but as they kept dancing they picked up their pace and pretty soon they were lost began to lose themselves in the dance. Lux would twirl her around and then pull her back into his arms, he even added a couple of dips as well.

A life goes by, romantic dreams must die
So I bid mine goodbye and never knew
So close was waiting, waiting here was you
And now forever I know...
All that I want is to hold you so close

Ahsoka couldn't keep the smile off of her face, for once she was actually enjoying herself and it had nothing to do with her Jedi training or the war effort.

Lux couldn't take his eyes off of her, he couldn't believe someone as beautiful or amazing as Ahsoka was right here in his presence, in his arms.

So close to reaching that famous happy end
Almost believing this one's not pretend
Now you're beside me, and look how far we've come
So far we are so close

From the moment he had met her, he knew that she was special. She had been so different from any of the other girls he had come across, she had been so sure of herself, so strong-willed. It's what had drawn him to her in the first place. And then on this trip he got to know her even more, and he had never been more grateful. He had seen her softer side, her compassion, her loyalty, and her selflessness. There were no words that could do her justice.

Oh how could I face the faceless days
If I should lose you now?

He didn't want this dance to end, it wasn't rational, it didn't make sense. They had only known each other a short time, but he couldn't even remember what his life was like before he had met her. He just wanted to exist right here in this moment, with no one else but him and Ahsoka.

We're so close to reaching that famous happy end
Almost believing this one's not pretend
Let's go on dreaming though we know we are
So close, so close, and still so far

He couldn't deny it, he had fallen for her.

The song is So Close by Jon McLaughlin. Wonderful song from the Enchanted film, seems to sum up every relationship on Star Wars. Weird.

Ahsoka may sing another song in the next Chapter, I'm still figuring out this story.
