-I Just Had To Know: A Sick Day Sequel - Ch. 2-

The note was simple. It said "Room 3-C." with a signature consisting only of an "H"

Hikaru mused a little at finally discovering Kaoru and Haruhi's new hideout. He could have found that really cute had he not also felt strong feelings for the girl.

Of course, never in a million years would Hikaru deprive his brother the chance at love it didn't stop him from craving what he couldn't have. Haruhi was Kao's girlfriend. His best friend and his only brother deserved happiness, and he would never steal her away.

...but that didn't mean he couldn't borrow her.

Many nights Hikaru would stare at the ceiling and ponder this dilemma. Sharing was something they were used to doing, and he didn't think this could be any different. Kaoru shared everything with him, and to Hikaru, he felt the same rules should apply to Haruhi's affection.

He took the note in his hand and crumpled it when Kaoru came up to him., resolved to finally do something about this intense need to find out what it was like... just once.

"Hikaru, have you seen Haruhi?"

"Nope, she probably left early." Hikaru jammed his hands in his pockets and pretended he knew nothing as he picked up his book bag and brushed passed his twin. "Good luck finding the Tanuki."

Kaoru frowned at his brother's casual reference to their best friend.

"That's strange." He walked out taking his bag with him, resolved to look for her before he headed home.

'Just this once.' Hikaru thought as he watched his brother head in the opposite direction while he headed to Haruhi's meeting spot. 'I'm sorry Kaoru, but just once.'

"Kaoru," Haruhi whispered into the silence of the classroom she occupied. "You're late."

She was sitting on a desk facing the windows. This particular room had few windows all of which directed to the sunrise... and as such was no longer in direct sunlight while the day ended, and twilight had begun to dim the room granting seclusion. Plus, large trees were blocking what remained of the sun's glare.

Haruhi had the lights on at the moment to brighten up the darkening room.

She heard the door open behind her and jumped when the lights went off.

With a laugh, she turned to see a shadow. The darkened silhouette remained silent while she approached the stoic figure.

"I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to ditch you like that in the middle of the club, but I needed to get my thoughts together. You two didn't give me enough time to prepare for that act."

Without a verbal response, Haruhi was feeling a little self-conscious that she was speaking too much and was relieved when a warm hand traced under her chin and while another other circled around her small waist.

Breathless she tilted her head back and accepted the tender lips upon her own. At first, the kiss was hesitant, soft even but then it took a turn into something more forceful. Almost like he never kissed her before he was ravenous for her.

Instinctively, her arms encircled his neck and pulled him down harder, upping the intensity of their stolen moment.

His hands traveled down her back and to her backside. He gently lifted her to sit on a desk as he pressed his kiss in deeper. Moaning into the kiss, Haruhi felt a tingle of excitement that signaled she was letting her hormones get the best of her. She didn't even protest when nimble hands had removed her jacket and were now caressing her neck and back.

Unable to place the source of the intensity, Haruhi let her mind turn off while she indulged herself in the traveling kisses that were now moving away from her mouth.

His fingers had loosened her tie and undone the first few buttons of her white shirt. Wet greedy lips were now traveling to her cheek then her neck and to her exposed collar bone.

She groaned as he nipped at her skin. "Kaoru..." She said his name with a feral growl that she had never once uttered before. The kissing stopped as she felt the body she held onto stiffen and pull away reluctantly.

"Kaoru?" Haruhi panicked at the retreat, had she gone too far?

"Kao, What's wrong?"

His hands went to her cheeks and pulled her closer to him. His lips touched hers softly before he released her stepping back.

"Hey," She tried to reach out for him, and her hands found his face. Gently, she brushed back his hair. "What is ..." She trailed off as her fingers went to his hair again before returning to his face. She let out a gasp and jumped off the desk.

"Hi...Hikaru!" She stammered.

He just stood before her, silent and that, alone, was all the proof she needed. She tried to close the top part of her shirt when the lights came on.

Hikaru stood with his hand on the switch while he looked at her with strange remorse. "I'm sorry. I just had to know what it was like."

If she wasn't confused before she was now. Her heart beat faster as the implications began to settle in.

She shook her head to rid herself of the thoughts. Closing her eyes, she turned away from her boyfriend's brother. She couldn't... wouldn't look at him.

She caught a glimpse of herself in the reflection of a mirror on the wall. Her hair was disheveled, her clothing was a mess while her face a burned with humiliation.

Hikaru opened the door and stepped outside. Leaving her with her turbulent thoughts.

Hikaru just kissed her, and she had kissed him back.
