Everyone in the city was shocked about the attack. Val was even at the zone right now. Yellow caution tape spread the whole area. Dan witnessed ambulances were taking away injured soldiers as a police officer stopped him from entering the combat zone. Destroyed choppers, armored jeeps and a tank lay burning. The creature had almost torn the tank's barrel off. Bullets had even bounced right off it. According to the news, there were two unidentified creatures in the area, one of them arriving later. They were just blurs in the footage, but their rampage left destruction in their wake. The gas station was now destroyed. At least 18 soldiers were killed, either trampled or burned alive by the creature's fire breath. Reports described the creature having an armored hide, horns, four legs and wings. The second one seemed bipedal with a single horn and a spiked tail. It also had wings. However, this one didn't put up much of a fight. Both had fled at the same time. Their whereabouts were currently unknown. Just what were these things, everyone wondered. First, those two hikers were found dead in the forest, then an entire gang had been murdered in the dockside warehouse, and now this. Were there monsters among them?

Dan shook his head in disbelief as he walked down the street. Everyone around him was talking about that attack last night. Question after question filled his mind like water in a pitcher. What was that thing? What did it want from the citizens? Will it ever come back? Are there more of them? He passed someone carrying a large bag. Was it his imagination, or was the bag moving? "Excuse me." Someone said to his left. Dan turned to see a man -possibly in his early twenties- staring at him. He was standing right near the back of a building. "Can I help you with something, sir?" he asked the man. The man smiled. "Kid… we're gonna need a whole lotta help from you. And it'll be worth it." "We?" That was the last thing he remembered before the man whipped out a baton and clonked it over Dan's head.

Val, too, was utterly confused. She wanted to know more about last night, along with the killings at the warehouse and the forest. Could these three events be connected somehow? Her apartment doorbell then rang. Odd. She wasn't expecting someone today. When she opened the door, she found a package with her name and address. I don't remember ordering anything. Val thought. She looked out into the hall to see if anyone else had one. Only she had the delivery. Val shrugged, picked up the box and took it inside. Upon opening the package, she noticed a small cylinder inside. She took it out and examined it carefully. Suddenly, there was a loud bang and green gas flooded out! Val coughed and batted at the smoke furiously. She then held her breath, thinking the gas might be poisonous. But within seconds, her vision faded to black and she blacked out.

As Ben neared the twins' place, he noticed three black vans parked right in front of the house. He ran up and opened the door. Inside he heard electricity… followed by John and Julie screaming! Ben dashed into the living room and saw men in suits holding the unconscious bodies of the twins. Thinking fast, Ben swung at the nearest man, knocking him to the floor. He clonked two heads together as another charged at him with a taser stick. He grabbed the man's arm and the two of them struggled, with the tip just inches away from his face. The man turned to a comrade. "Take him alive!" he yelled. Ben was furious. What did these men want from him and the twins? He punched the man with the taser stick in the gut and slammed him against the wall. Just as he noticed someone aiming a taser gun at him, it fired. Ben felt a surge of electricity and blacked out.

"Mission complete, sir." Fiona reported to the base commander. "All six targets have been apprehended. Val had gotten our little gift, Dan and Fred were not the least bit concerned, the twins were easily stunned, and Ben was… a little bit of a struggle. He put three men in the recovery center. No major injuries." "Good, good." The commander replied. "Bring them in along with our little three reptilian friends."
