Chapter 7
Nevra and Cloe thoroughly enjoyed their ride into out to West Stiles, laughing together and singing along to Nevra's Cheryl Cole album at the top of their lungs with the windows rolled down. Nevra ended up laughing so hard that her ribs were aching, while Cloe had to wave her hands in her face due to the tears that were forming from laughing so hard. By the time the girls pulled up at the Stiles Food and Film Cafe, they were in agony from laughing.
"Oh man, Cloe you're too funny, girl!" Nevra remarked as they got out of the car. Cloe just giggled to herself, texting on her phone as the two of them headed inside.
"Hey, you're the one who decided to sing and start choking." she winked, making Nevra smirk as she punched her in the arm. Soon enough, they reached the front counter. The girl behind the counter looked up, smiling widely.
"Hi; just two?" she asked. Nevra and Cloe nodded, before smiling and leading them over to a comfy wrap around booth with a table in the middle.
"Is this okay?" she asked. Cloe nodded before sitting down along with Nevra.
"Alright and my name is Zoey, I'll be taking care of you tonight. Can I start you of with something to drink?" Zoey asked, smiling warmly.
"Erm, just a coke please." Nevra replied.
"Can I have a Hazelnut Frappuccino with whipped cream and chocolate shavings on?" Cloe asked, looking up. Zoey scribbled down their drink orders, nodding her head.
"You certainly can, ma'am! I'll be right back with those." she said before walking away and leaving the two to look over the menu.
"Dude, how do you still look flawless even after rehearsals?" Nevra asked, actually amazed at how hard Cloe had worked in rehearsals and how she didn't look sweaty or tired in the slightest; she still was gorgeous.
"Girl you're crazy but thank you; this food is gonna be love though! I'm totally feeling a double cheeseburger with bacon on and some fries. I'm starving, lunch wasn't appetizing today was it? It was shit!" Cloe rambled on, smiling away to herself as she looked at the menu.
"I'm feeling a massive bacon-ranch salad with crispy chicken in; I hear they have them extremely huge ones here. And honestly, lunch today really was shit to be honest; were they supposed to be potatoes au gratin or what?" Nevra asked, looking up from the menu. Cloe laughed, shrugging her shoulders.
"You know, I don't even know." she chuckled before smiling as Zoey wandered back over with their drinks.
"Okay, so here's a Hazelnut Frappuccino with whipped cream and chocolate shavings and here is a coke. Are you ready to order?" she asked.
"I think we are yeah. Can we have a double cheeseburger with bacon on and fries, and the extra large bacon-ranch salad with crispy chicken and ranch dressing?" Nevra told her the order, making Zoey nod her head as she wrote it down.
"Amazing choices! Alright so I'll be back with those soon – and the film will be starting in fifteen minutes just so you know. It's The Avengers." she said. Nevra and Cloe nodded and thanked her before watching her walk away.
"I've already seen The Avengers; dope ass film if you ask me." Cloe remarked, smiling away. Nevra giggled, nodding her head as she took a sip of her coke.
"Yeah it was pretty nice." she grinned, watching her friend. Cloe smiled back at her before taking a sip of her own drink.
"So your birthday is in officially two weeks! Come on; do you still not want a party? I'm excited even if you're not." she winked, making Nevra burst out laughing. She had to admit though; her friends did seem way more excited about her actual birthday than she was.
"Sorry Cloe, I don't want a party at all. Seriously I just want a nice night out with my girlies and the homeboys – we can just go to The Limelight or H2O and just hang out but nothing huge." she said. Cloe grinned cheekily, lightly kicking her friend under the table.
"Right I can handle that; just a little thing between the lot of us." she smirked, making Nevra eye her suspiciously.
"Angel, seriously." she warned, pouting her lips together cutely. Cloe just laughed, shaking her head as she began running her fingers through her hair, undoing the bun to let her hair flow out.
"Alright alright Queen B, I hear you loud and clear, babe." she winked, making Nevra giggle as she took another sip of her drink. She looked up, a small smile creeping up onto her face as Cloe combed her fingers through her long blonde hair, letting it flow down her back and over her shoulders, framing her face perfectly. She didn't know what it was, but she thought Cloe was extremely beautiful.
"So erm, why didn't it ever work out with you and Dylan?" she asked casually. Cloe rolled her eyes, shrugging.
"Girl even I don't know; just wasn't meant to be. I don't know what's wrong with me, I just..." she began but trailed off, taking a sip of her drink. Nevra frowned slightly.
"What's up?" she asked. Cloe shook her head, forcing a smile.
"Nothing girl, I'm gucci! Ooh, the film is starting." she said before turning her attention to the movie that was starting to play on the big screen. Nevra stared at her blond friend for a second before sighing quietly and turning her own attention to the film. She didn't know what the story was, but she was determined to find out eventually...
..But for tonight, she was just going to enjoy her night with her amazing friend Cloe...
"How good was that food though? Jesus I'm stuffed; I think I spent half the time day dreaming about the food than watching the film."
Nevra laughed hysterically as she and Cloe wandered out of the cinema cafe together. They had to admit that while the film was good, the food was some of the best they'd had in a while. In fact, they'd probably chat more about the food than the actual film itself. They had made sure they left their waitress Zoey a nice tip as well before wandering out together.
"I must admit it was pretty great! I loved it; that salad was brilliant!" Nevra remarked as she pressed the button on the keys to unlock the doors. Cloe nodded in agreement before sliding into the passenger seat while Nevra slid into the drivers seat. She fished her iPhone from her pocket and unlocked it before checking her texts. She had quite a few; one from her dad asking for her to bring some more milk and bread on her way home, and another from Yasmin, which was one of them chain letter type texts, and other texts from other friends. However, due to being so wrapped up in her phone, she didn't even seem to notice that Cloe was staring at her..
Cloe was absentmindedly staring at Nevra, her eyes following her friend's body from her head down to the skirt she was wearing. She loved Nevra's big brown eyes and her cute nose and plump lips, and her toned body – due to the going to the gym twice a week after school. She found herself biting her lip as she slipped into a day dream once she'd looked back up at Nevra's lips. How she longed to feel those plump lips pressed against her own...
"Cloe stop it; she's your best friend and this isn't right!" she thought to herself..
But she couldn't deny her feelings could she?
Nevra's voice is what dragged Cloe from her thoughts. She crossed her legs and looked out the window, trying to ignore the feelings that had been stirred up in her stomach..
"Right so do you mind running to the supermarket with me or would you like to go home first? I have to go pick up some more milk and bread for my father." she giggled, rolling her eyes as she looked up. Cloe nodded instantly; anything to spend more time with Nevra.
"Yeah I don't mind, I'll tag along with you." she smiled, nudging her. Nevra nodded, smiling back before putting her phone down in the cup holder and starting the engine.
"Right to the supermarket we go.." she smiled before pulling out of the spot and driving off through the parking lot...
After a quick run to the supermarket – which had taken an extra twenty minutes due to Nevra and Cloe's childish behavior that involved running up and down the aisles and making childish jokes about some funny food names – Nevra was finally pulling into the luxurious driveway of the beautiful home that belonged to Smith family. She then turned to Cloe, holding her arms out.
"I've had a fabulous evening with you Miss Smith; must do this again sometime." she grinned. Cloe smiled back before hugging her tightly and pecking her cheek.
"It was brilliant wasn't it? I loved tonight, Nev!" she said, feeling her cheeks heat up which meant she was grateful for it being dark so that Nevra couldn't see. She then grabbed her backpack from the backseat before turning back to her friend. However, before she could speak, Nevra spoke up first.
"So, do you need another ride to school in the morning? Tomorrow's an early release day as well so maybe we can hang out tomorrow too?" she wondered, hoping she wasn't making a complete fool of herself. She had some thinking to do, but at this moment, asking Cloe to hang out again felt so right.
"Definitely! I know this really cool place near Stiles Beach that has an arcade and does great food as well!" Cloe replied. She had to admit, for some reason, her heart soared when Nevra asked her to hang out again.
"Sounds dopetastic! Right get out my ride, woman! See you in the morning; don't forget to text me so I don't forget, though I'm sure I won't forget." Nevra winked, giggling a bit. Cloe giggled shyly before punching her arm then getting out of the car.
"See you in the morning, Queen B; goodnight." she smiled.
"Goodnight, Angel!" Nevra replied before smiling to herself as she watched Cloe shut the door and trot up to the front door. She it her lip cutely, not understanding these strange feelings she was getting in the slightest.
But now it was time to go home and think about it...
By the time Nevra walked through her front door carrying her bags and a bag from the supermarket, it was just after nine. She put the bread and milk away in the kitchen before going off upstairs. She dumped her bags on her bed and put her phone on the charger, then wandered off down the hall to her father's 'man cave' as he called it. He was in there, but was watching TV with her mother. She rolled her eyes and said hello to them both, before going back off to her room, deciding to just relax in the bath and do some thinking about tonight.
She grabbed her favorite pajamas from her drawer and grabbed her fluffy purple towel as well as her favorite bubble bath, then wandered off down the hall to the bathroom. She turned the water on for her relaxing bath and poured the bubble soap in, the bathroom almost instantly filling up with the sweet smell of lavender and jasmine. While she waited for it to finish running, she went off to her room and quickly grabbed her phone and the charger before returning to the bathroom and plugging it all into the wall. She placed the phone on the floor before shutting the bathroom door, then finally turning off the taps as he bath was finish running. She undressed before sliding into the bath, instantly feeling relaxed as she used the remote in the floor to dim the lights. Now it was time to think..
What were these strange feelings about Cloe about? She knew that she was in a sense "different" from other girls when it came to her love life. While she thought guys were quite hot and had liked a few, she thought that girls were quite hot as well. However, she also thought that she herself had only meant that in a complimentary sort of way, but over the last few weeks – few days especially – she was starting to think that maybe that wasn't the entire case.
In fact, now that she was thinking about it, she wouldn't exactly cringe or mind being in some sort of romantic relationship with a girl..
But Cloe though? Of call people, one of her good friends? She had always found Cloe to be quite hot, but especially over the last couple days, she just liked hanging around her. While she had pretended to not notice earlier, she had felt Cloe's burning gaze on her as well. What was that about? And why was she so quick to ask Cloe to hang out with her again? She loved seeing her of course, and she found her extremely beautiful and funny and talented..
...And she got the craziest butterflies whenever she and Cloe were talking..
…And though she had pushed her away that morning, she had secretly liked when Cloe was jokingly showering her cheeks in kisses...
…And she liked when Cloe had hugged her back this evening and given her a peck on the cheek..
"Oh my God." she muttered to herself, sinking lower into the back so that she was relaxing more as she carried on thinking.
Something was definitely going on with her, and if she didn't know any better, she'd say herself..
...She was developing a crush on Cloe...
