Wasting no more time Amelia grasped the bars of the cage door and pulled, the lock breaking easily. Stepping silently into the hall, the agent signaled for Bella and Tyson to follow her. As they made their way down the dark stone corridor she could hear breathing just around the corner. Signaling for her siblings to wait she crept silently behind the man, reptile shifter by the smell and quickly snapped his neck before he even turned her way. As she turned to make her way back around the corner, a bear shifter stood in her path smirking and cracking his knuckles preparing to fight her. She dropped into a defensive stance, aware of all the aches and pains in her body and prepared herself. But as the shifter took a step towards her he hit the ground hard and Tyson stood above him holding a length of thick chain, the one that had tied him to the wall. When she eyed the chain in question he simply shrugged.
"Souvenir"
Amelia shook her head and signaled once again for them to follow her. Within minutes Amelia caught the smell of fresh air and she took off running confident her siblings would keep up. Just ahead she spotted stone stairs bathed in sunlight; the way out. The agent forced her limbs to go faster and she raced up the stairs squinting at the harsh sunlight as she emerged from the depths of the ruins that had been her prison for months. A growl from below told her that James had realized they were out and she yelled at her siblings to hurry up. As a trio they ran from the centre of the ruins out into a clearing. She spotted a very familiar and welcome figure and raced towards her. The next thing Amelia was aware of was lying on her back with Bella begging her to get up. What had happened?
Before she got her bearings a fierce pain ripped through her skull and a second later she was dragged to her feet by her hair. Ignoring the pain she thrust her nails into his wrist and unleashed her magic, the smell of burnt flesh made her gag and James' scream filled her with satisfaction. The minute he let go she ran forward throwing herself infront of Bella. She felt the roar within her and relaxed as her body shifted.
Bella screamed as James grabbed Amelia and dragged her off the floor like a rag doll. Panic flooded her veins but within seconds Amelia was free. She watched as her sister leapt in front of her and in an instant she changed into a lioness. The roar tore through the clearing and she watched as Amelia charged at James her teeth and claws deadly sharp. She felt someone tug on her and realized that Tyson was pulling her away. As she spun away from the fight she spotted her father who was staring at her with concern all over his face, just behind him stood Edward. Bella's heart stopped. She watched as Edward started towards her only to be held back by a woman who looked just like her sister. She saw the barrier flash as Edward stepped as close to it as he could, she saw her name on his lips but could hear nothing. From the corner of her eye she watched as several women surrounded the barrier their electrical energies pulsing, stretching the fairy web. Witches. In just minutes the barrier was stretched so thinly that outside sounds began filtering in, she could hear Edward reassuring her that he was there. Hear Carlisle directing his family, hear her dad calling her name. Seconds before the barrier shattered Bella watched in horror as James threw his arms around the lioness's neck.
Amelia saw her team of witches surround the barrier and she knew that she needed to keep James busy for just a few minutes whilst they brought down the web so pushing through the pain she charged, her paws hitting the ground hard. She roared before pouncing on the vampire, claws and teeth tearing into his marble flesh. She knew that she was no match for a vampire but her brother and sister needed her and if she had to die to save them then so be it. For a while her plan was working, but then James got his arms around her neck and the game was over. Her body shifted, turning human in the hopes it could draw in some oxygen but James just tightened his hold. She gasped and sunk her teeth into her lip as his teeth penetrated her bruised flesh. He had bitten her several times but this was different. James was feeding from her. Amelia struggled but her body was too beaten and her energy was depleted. Her eyes fell on the sandy haired vampire who was struggling in a very large vampires arms, his mouth forming her name over and over his face contorted in rage. Jasper. Her heart thudded louder he was here, her soldier was here. Then her heart stopped and she knew no more.
Amelia never saw the barrier shatter into a million sparks. She never felt James be torn away from her by a large black panther, never knew it was Jasper who caught her broken and bleeding body as it crashed to the floor. How he stroked her matted hair from her bloody neck and ran his cold hands across her cheek begging her to wake up. Amelia never saw her father and Edward tear James apart or saw Emmett lead her combat teams into battle as James's followers poured from the ruins, or how Carlisle jumped into action directing the medical team to go rescue the prisoners from inside the ruins or how Jasper refused to let her go even as they were rushed into the armored SUV. Instead he held her close and whispered that she was going to be alright that he would never leave her again.
Edward was pissed. He had never felt such anger, such rage in his entire existence as he did looking upon Bella's bruised and battered form. Her hair was matted to the side of her face with dried blood that had run from a cut on her hairline. Her lip was split and her cheek bruised. The t-shirt she wore was soaked with blood from the knife wound in her shoulder and her leg was swollen from the break though it looked like someone had set the bone.
Everything happened quickly after the fairy web went down, Edward saw Charlie shift into a large black panther and together they tore across the field, he watched as Carlisle dropped down beside Bella and pulled her into his embrace, how Jasper broke free of Emmett's grasp and caught Amelia's body as it dropped to the floor when Charlie pounced on James. Edward took great pleasure in assisting Bella's father in tearing the blonde apart. The moment of victory was short lived however as handfuls of creatures; vampires, shifters, fairies came storming out of the ruins and after seeing their master destroyed, charged into battle.
Emmett and Scott yelled out orders and within twenty minutes the battle was over. The large vampire stood in the center of the clearing and watched as the O.M.S began the clean up. Any of James's followers left alive were being cuffed and contained, the dead were being hauled into a large black van and any injured O.M.S members were being treated by the back up medical team. With a surge of satisfaction, Emmett's gaze caught on the small bonfire. James would never touch his sister again. After another moment he turned and jumped into one of the SUV's with Scott, the kid really knew how to fight and the large vampire held a spark of respect and gratitude for the young werewolf. Once Scott finished giving the clean up crew instructions the pair set off back to Forks both anxious to be reunited with their loved ones.
