Walking into his home, he smells a freshly baked pie in the oven. Throwing his luggage down he undoes his tie as he walks further into the house, following the heavenly scent he sees his wife standing at the stove cooking.
Turning around she smiles at him effortlessly "Hi, honey. I didn't hear you walk in- how was your trip?" She asked walking up to him wrapping her arms around him
"It was well for the most part." He can't deny it; it feels good to have her in his arms. Holding her, he almost forgot about what had happened when he had left. Olivia has always had a way with him, whenever he was angry she would look at him and be kind and in the second he would forget about what he was actually mad at.
Unwrapping herself from him she moves towards the stove, she can sense where this conversation was heading, and the last thing she wants is for him to see her face because once he looks at her, he will know everything.
"Why don't you go relax for a bit, and we can have dinner?"
Lying in his bed he looks around his room hoping to find something different, something out of place. Walking into the closet he starts to go through her drawers searching for what, god only knows.
Olivia is hiding something from him, he can feel it. Olivia does not cook, and she most certainly does not bake – only on holidays or special occasions. No, Olivia cooking is her way of saying sorry without actually having to say sorry. However, what is she apologizing for is what is plaguing Adam. Though the thing that had wounded Adam the most was that Olivia does what she always does, she uses her body and his love for her to her advantage, she thought that by holding him he would forget that she ran away from home without a call or a text.
"Adam, dinner is ready!" She yells from kitchen
Placing everything where it was, he turns off the light and closes the door.
"How was your vacation, Liv?" He asked out of the blue
Her doe eyes pop from the sudden question, everything had been going well she made him his favorite meal and dessert- dinner was simple and quite filled with small chit chat, Olivia thought that just maybe he had forgotten about her impromptu 'vacation'.
Grabbing her wine she takes a long sip, giving her time to meticulously plan her choice of words carefully.
"It was good." She says simply
"Good?" He questions "Surely it most have been better than good since you got home the same day as I did. What made you decided to go on a vacation?" He asked jamming a piece of asparagus in his mouth
Narrowing her eyes at him, she tries her best to sense where he was going with this conversation. "I enjoyed myself; in fact I think I might do it more often." She says confidently looking at him wanting him to question her motives.
Nodding his head he plays with his food. "Alone?"
"Well that depends on if you come along."
"Are you inviting me? I didn't know Stephen's home was a vacation."
"Why don't you just ask me already, Adam?"
"Okay, where were you?"
Not batting an eyelash she looks at him "I told you I was at Stephen's"
"No, you weren't there, that is not like you."
"You don't know everything about me." She says simply taking another sip from her wine, on the outside she appears cold and confident but on the inside she is shaking and in fear, if Adam saw her cry, if Adam saw the tiniest bit of sadness on her face, he would know everything, and he would leave her and never come back. Remaining strong is her only option.
"I know you Liv, what made you decide to up and leave?"
"You leave all the time."
"That is an excuse and you know it." Adam says, at first he was calm but as time goes on, Liv has yet to utter a word and it was starting to anger him.
"I wanted to go somewhere and just relax, though you go away because of work it is still a break… and I just wanted that too, where I can be myself and have a peace of mind." Olivia smiles sadly at her husband, as she tries to explain herself, this isn't about him or Fitz, it is about her.
"You make it seem like I am a burden?"
"It's not about you; it is about me. You're not the burden… have you ever wanted to be someone else or be you but just different?"
Taking a moment he thinks about it "No, I can honestly say that I haven't…but it appears that you do?"
Removing her plate from the table she walks to the sink and starts washing the dishes.
"Olivia?"
Stopping the water she freezes. All that is heard is her heartbeat beating at an exceptional rate.
"Turn around" He says softly, not commanding her
Looking at the window she watches as the trees sway side to side going in every direction the wind takes them. Turning around she looks at him "what"
"Are you unhappy?" He asked softly
Tears start to form as she bites her lip to stop herself from crying.
"Liv?" he asked softly as he waited for her answer
Her lip quivers, how easy it could be to tell him that she is both happy and sad at the same time, how she has become a monster. "I'm happy" she whispers as walks to sit on his lap. Removing his glasses she kisses him tenderly feeling the difference in texture and taste
"Adam, I need you." She pleads
Running his fingers through her hair, he holds her head in place "What do you need Olivia?"
That is the difference between Fitz and Adam. Adam needs to be told what to do he doesn't know what she wants or who she needs, but Fitz…without saying a word he would come to her and give her just what she needs, what she wants.
"I need you, to fuck me." She says softly after removing her lips from his mouth.
Getting up to take her to bed, she stops "No, here. Do it here."

"How's it going man?" Fitz asked as he sat in the bar
"I've been better." Adam says ordering a beer
Noticing a difference in Adam, he wants to ask more but does not wish to intrude. Olivia and him have been better than ever, it seems once he saw her in the morning light he saw another side of her and her him. The side she never allowed him to see, the change in their relationship had been imminent.
"So how are you and Abby?" Adam asked after taking a few sips of his beer, feeling the cool bruski soothe his throat.
"Umm, we are doing well." Fitz had been spending time with Abby, not for the sole purpose of keeping tabs on Liv but also because he enjoys her personality and how she is light, there is no drama with her, it is just her.
"Good… good Abby is a great girl. I knew you too would get along."
"Yeah, Abby is great, but of course not as great as your wife." Fitz said not realizing the double meaning behind his words.
Snorting Adam downs his beer and orders another one "Don't get me started on my wife."
"What's wrong?"
"What isn't wrong?" He retorts
"My wife has flipped a switch in that big head of hers. She has just changed…" Adam says veering off track as he thinks about his wife and her sudden change
"Changed how?" Fitz asked quietly, probing for more answers as to what was going on at Liv's home. Though they have gotten closer to one another they have yet to discuss both Adam and Abby. Adam and Abby are the pink elephants in the room with them, every time he looks at Liv he sees his friends' disappointment and sadness over what he has been doing to his wife. No matter how hard he tries he can't get rid of her, like a bad habit he wants more and more of her.
"Olivia is still Olivia, but she's not… she acts different, she smells different, and lately when we have sex she has been doing things to me, she doesn't normally do like… "
"I get the picture" Fitz says shortly finishing off the rest of his beer. While he had been living up to his promise it seems Olivia is still doing what Olivia does best- whatever she wants. The last thing he wants to hear is Olivia fucking her husband and how she has been doing things to him that he taught her.
"Yeah… I talked to Abby and she thinks maybe if we went out again on a double date maybe Liv would cheer up. At this point I am willing to do whatever it takes to get my wife back."
"Yeah, I definitely want to see how she will feel once she sees us all together. I think she will have a wakeup call-I think that is a great idea." He could picture her right now, walking in to see Abby, Adam, and him in the same room at the same table-again. Her big doe eyes would probably roll in the back of her head, and to be honest he wants to see her squirm, he wants her to know what it feels like to have someone who you think belongs to you and it turns out they never did.
"Can I tell you something in confidence?" Adam asked seriously
"Of course" Fitz said turning to face his friend and give him his undivided attention
"I thought Liv might have been cheating on me, but then I thought about it and I said Liv would never do something like that."
"Never" Fitz said disingenuously taking a sip from his beer. If only Adam knew what he does to his wife and how everything she is doing to him, he taught her; and considering how she has been caring on he was going to teach her another lesson come tomorrow.
