Posting Chapter 7 also to make up for that super long wait! :P
An hour later, the Vongolae Decimo and his guardians were closing in on the Varion base.
"Juudaime. It's a trap. You do know that right?" Gokudera asked from beside his boss.
Without even turning his head, the brunette replied, "Even if it is, I'm still going."
"There's a chance they may not even have Mukuro-san..." Yamamoto added from the other side of Tsuna.
The brunette was silent for several seconds. He continued to stare ahead and replied softly, "But if they do have him, I would never be able to live with myself if I let them hurt Mukuro."
Reborn observed silently, not speaking a word since they left their base. They came to a stop outside of the base as a man wearing a black suit, likely with the Varion, came out to greet them. The guardians all had their weapons ready, body tensed and breaths held. But the man simply bowed. "Welcome to the Varion base, Vongolae Decimo and his guardians. Please follow me. The boss is waiting."
The man turned and walked into the base, leading the way. After looking at one another in confusion, the guardians followed, with Tsuna leading his guardians. They were led down a corridor, turned a corner and down another corridor where a large wooden door loomed at the end of the hallway.
"Boss, they're here."
"Let them in." A voice boomed from the other side of the door.
The man who led them in opened the door and gestured for them to enter. The Vongola members walked into the room cautiously, weapons still drawn. In the middle of the room, a man was seated on an armchair, flanked by men in suits on both sides. Tsuna assumed he was the Varion boss. However, Tsuna's attention was drawn to the large purple cloth draped over something behind the armchair. Whatever was under it was big. At least 2 meters tall.
"Welcome! Let me introduce myself. I am the 14th boss of the Varion family, Damien. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to prepare tea and cakes to celebrate your return." The man in the armchair grinned, his smile not reaching his eyes. Tsuna's attention shifted to him.
"Cut to the chase bastard." Gokudera snapped.
"Very well. I'd like to have all of you drop your weapons. As long as you do not attack, we won't." The man smirked.
"Teme! Like we'd listen to-" "Drop them." Tsuna interrupted his Storm guardian.
"Tsuna, are you sure?" Yamamoto asked in disbelief. A nod from Tsuna and all the guardians obeyed, their weapons dropping to the carpeted floor with soft thuds. Hibari dropping his reluctantly with a scowl.
"Very good. Now, why don't you come over here, Vongolae Decimo? I have a... gift for you." Tsuna flinched as the Damien's abysmal black eyes met his chocolate brown ones.
Tsuna carefully took a step forward. And then another, slowly closing the gap between them. The brunette could feel his dying will pills and glove in his pocket as he walked closer. It made him feel slightly safer. Behind him, his guardians watched with worry, their body tensed and ready to spring into action if anything happened. Once Tsuna was in front of him, the Varion boss clapped his hands together. The Vongola flinched, almost lurching forward to Tsuna's aid. But instead of attacking, the men flanking them took a step back and one moved to the purple cloth, pulling it aside. Tsuna's breath caught in his throat when the contents beneath the cloth was revealed. A large metal cage. But what was inside the cage made the brunette choke. Inside, chained and hanging from the ceiling of the cage, was his mist guardian, blindfolded and covered in blood.
"I wasn't lying when I said he was dying to see you was I?" The Varion boss laughed as he walked over to the side of the cage. One of his men handed him a spear.
Tsuna's eyes widened. "Stop! What are you planning to do with him?" He exclaimed, voice trembling and fists clenched. Behind the brunette, a wall of the Varion's men had formed between himself and the rest of his guardians, preventing his guardians from reaching him.
Inside the cage, Mukuro stirred, wincing from the wounds all over his body. In the darkness, he heard the trembling voice of someone he immediately knew who the voice belonged to.
Damien played with the spear, staring at Tsuna. "You see... I want to see the Vongola suffer. No... I want to see you suffer. At first I thought to steal away your guardians but who would have guessed that he, Rokudo Mukuro, would reject me. But that's fine. I found out why. Who would have thought that Rokudo Mukuro would be in love with his very own boss, Vongolae Decimo." Damien's mouth twisted into a cruel smile.
The Vongola guardians were taken aback by the information they had just heard. None of them, besides Reborn, knew that the Mist guardian was Tsuna's lover. "Don't be retarded! Stop spouting rubbish!" Gokudera yelled, straining against one of the men in suits holding him back.
"Ohh? I see even they didn't know. And they trusted you." Damien smirked at Tsuna who remained silent. Addressing the Vongola guardians, the Varion boss pointed the spear at Mukuro. "Well, why don't you find out for yourself if what I said is rubbish?" Then glancing at Tsuna, "What better way to make you suffer then this? I want to watch the Vongolae Decimo writhe in despair and hopelessness."
Before Tsuna could react, Damien plunged the spear between the bars, piercing Mukuro in the side at his waist. Mukuro screamed, his voice hoarse and strangled-sounding. It was a sound that made all of Tsuna's blood drain from his face. "S...stop...p...please..." The brunette pleaded.
Damien only smirked and plunged the spear into Mukuro's side again, drawing another pained scream from the Mist guardian. The Varion boss twisted the spear around, inflicting more pain on Mukuro who was screaming soundlessly.
"Sto...p. I'm begging you! Please..." Tears started to flow from Tsuna's eyes, his voice cracking on the last word.
The pain was enough to drive anyone crazy, but not Mukuro. He had been through worse. This was nothing. But it did hurt nonetheless. Instead, Mukuro focused on the brunette's pleading voice. It had been so long since he heard that voice. The same voice that whispered "I love you" to him countless times. The Mist guardian hated Tsuna. Or so he thought. Yet, hearing his pleading voice, Mukuro couldn't help but want to reach out to the brunette. No. He wouldn't. Tsuna broke his promise. The one person he believed would never betray him betrayed him in the end. He was right after all. Humans were digesting creatures. They weren't to be trusted. Mukuro's train of thought was broken by another sharp pain in the side as the spear was driven into his flesh again, probably breaking bone as well. Another soundless scream. His throat burned.
"Stop! I'll do anything! Just stop!" Tsuna screamed. By now, his tears were flowing freely down his face. He couldn't stand to see Mukuro get hurt anymore.
"Ohh? Anything?" Damien smirked then pulled the spear out, blood gushing from the wounds it inflicted. "Fine. Kneel and lick my feet."
I hated myself for doing that to Mukuro... My poor baby T.T And I'm starting to really hate Damien lol.
