Chapter 7: Return to Kokiri Forest

Hope you guys enjoy the chapter! And happy holidays to everyone!

(A reminder, the Fado in this story, is basically the same Fado from Wind Waker, the Kokiri who was the former wind sage before Makar.)

Six months have passed so far without much incident. Link still never forgot how he basically explained to Princess Zelda everything that happened in the other timeline, if only to try to make sense of what happened during the assassin's break in. He wasn't all surprised that she believed him, after all, when they first met she explained her own far-fetched tale about Ganondorf, and he believed she was telling the truth.

Link, to his shock, discovered Zelda had experienced a similar phenomenon he had, albeit hers was slightly different. After hearing that Ganondorf murdered one of the Sages during his execution disturbed him further.

Princess Zelda tried to piece it all together. She theorized, that somehow, because of what the Triforce is, that it might possibly transcend time itself. She also theorized it's possible, that there are other timelines (not that he fully understood what she meant). Which would fit into her theory of why the Triforce did what it did when Link traveled back in time, because it shouldn't have followed Link with him to this timeline and split up amongst them as it did.

According to her, logically the Triforce of Courage would of been left behind when he went back in time. She states there is probably a timeline where that did indeed happen. However, because his traveling to and from, must of created this split in realms of different times. And that the Triforce, either the will of the Gods, or even, possibly a will of it's own...used Link as a vessel when he traveled back in time...calling to the other pieces, and it remained instead hidden in Link, as opposed to the Sacred Realm. When Ganondorf "died", the Triforce of Power awoken, and literally ripped itself from Link's soul to go to him, to aid him in his time of need. Likewise, because the Triforce split, all three had to split, Wisdom immediately took refuge in Zelda, while Courage stayed with him.

Though Zelda theorizes, this is the work of the Gods for some reason or another, though she has a hard time explaining it.

This couldn't help but make Link wonder...if there were other timelines...could there be more than just the two Zelda theorizes? How much did he affect in the different realms of time, from his traveling back and forth?

He shook his head, not wanting to think to much on that. Instead he focused on Malon hanging on tight to him, as they road to Kokiri Forest on Epona. He introduced her to the Gorons some time ago, but Link felt it was only more appropriate if he brought her to meet the ones who basically raised him and took him in.

Besides, he was eager to see the Deku Tree finally being sprouted into bloom in this timeline. He hadn't visited his former home in a while, and he felt terrible for that, but he at least assumed the curse Ganondorf put on the mystical tree would of been worn off by now...plus he owed it to a few friends of his there to go greet them. He was sure they'd forgive him for not visiting in such a long time if he brought someone special to introduce. (Though truthfully the incredibly talkative Owl, was kind enough to help Link by always sending Saria letters, in the letters of course were always a message for three very important friends to him in that forest, so it's not like he hasn't always tried to keep up).

"I can't wait to meet all the little forest children!" Malon squished the left side of her face into Link's back, "Not to mention to see where you grew up!"

"It's very beautiful Malon! Nothing beats the beauty of those woods!" Navi exclaimed, swirling all around them.

Link smiled, but didn't really engage in the conversation, not with so much on his mind. Zelda mostly has been keeping Link away from the Castle as much as possible. (There was quite the argument, but Impa, Zelda, Tetra...then eventually Navi jumping in, all badgered Link that it would be best for everyone if he kept his distance and laid low for a while.) But not before she used that pendant thing she got from that assassin and cast a spell on it, that it would keep Link's presence hidden, for the time being at least, from anyone with a magical object just like this pendant from detecting him. (Though Zelda warned him the spell wouldn't last, she said it has a year for a time limit.)

Despite this protection, Link was still away from the castle, taking a leave of absence briefly. Usually spent more time on Lon Lon Ranch in the past couple of months then he ever has been, simply because Zelda obviously was trying to protect his identity from being discovered from this mysterious figure whoever employed that assassin after him...since it was apparent she did not even know the name of her target or even what Link looked like.

However Zelda informed Link recently, just last night, that she had a disturbing dream that she knew was no dream. The sky was darkened, a figure that Zelda could not see was the source of this, a blood-lusting laughter emitted from this figure that remained hidden from her sight, then...she saw the Master Sword, and she could feel anger from this dark presence towards the sword...then...a fire. A great fire engulfed the Temple of Time, burning it to rubble. Zelda knew this dream was no dream. She felt that this figure in the dream was probably the same figure after Link's life, the same one this assassin hinted at eventually will come for Zelda's head too. But Zelda theorized in the dream, that the Master Sword, it's destruction is what this dark being is also after.

Link remembered in one of Saria's letters, that she recently discovered a very old hidden temple, sealed off from the other parts of the woods. Zelda's task was clear to Link, they were to find a place that could be hidden well, a place where the Master Sword won't be discovered. Where's it's aura can be locked away where evil can't sense it, (Zelda theorized that if Link wielded it, not only would the sword be in danger of destruction because evil will be able to sense it, especially the evil in the dream that wants to destroy this sword...that he will as well, just by being in proximity to the sword.)

Since the Triforce is obviously no longer in the Sacred Realm, there is no harm in removing the Master Sword, and placing it somewhere else where it can be hidden away.

Though Link wanted to inspect this Temple first, see if it was to Zelda's standard for hiding the Master Sword, which obviously was one of the other main reasons he wanted to go.

"Link? Is everything alright? You seem so gloomy, cheer up! Today is supposed to be your birthday!" Malon brightened behind him.

Well that was true. That was the other part of the reason he left for his old home, to spend his birthday with his old friends and Malon, though that was the main reason he told Malon, even though other things that weighed on his mind became of more importance and priority.

Link gave her a small smile, he didn't mean to make her worry.

"Sorry, a lot has been on my mind lately." He admitted to her.

"Well when the time comes, I hope you tell me about it, you can trust me you know." She offered, but just as Link opened his mouth she spoke again, "You don't have to tell me now, just when it feels right okay? For now, try focusing on the good things that have happened and are going to happen, okay?"

Link gave a more softer smile and nodded back to her, grateful that she sensed his discomfort in telling her what was going on. He was really lucky to have Malon in his life. Truthfully, he always felt very lucky. All the people that loved him and befriended him, whatever this darkness was that was seeking his, Zelda's and the Master Sword's destruction...he'd protect everyone from it.

He wasn't going to let anything destroy all that he cherished and held dear.

"So tell me more about the Kokiri?" Malon asked, clearly her attempt to distract him.

He smiled, and began to tell Malon a couple of stories, far more happier ones than his current mood or thoughts. He couldn't wait to introduce her, as he shared stories of each of the Kokiri children, and the Deku tree.

Palin didn't remember when he dozed off. How foolish of him to do such a thing, he was supposed to meet Princess Zelda, and instead he'd fallen asleep with his nose in a book.

It was something they did now. Princess Zelda twice a week would ask him to come spend his lunch hour with her in the library, Link had been right that the princess loved mythology and history, she was very excited that Palin had a bit of an interest in those things himself. Not certainly to the passionate extent as the princess, but he enjoyed it well. She wished to discuss any findings he'd have, and she allowed him to borrow any books he'd like.

It wasn't like he was actively trying to woo her highness or anything. He was still far too much of a coward to do that, plus it was still heresy to even consider. But...he did want to get to know her. And the more he got to talk with her, the more intrigued he was about her...alas, the stronger his feelings for her became. It would be so much more simple if that didn't happen, but he couldn't help it.

He was ever more intrigued about the princess. There were so many layers to her character.

Palin came into the library as usual read up on one of the books as he waited for her, and...somehow fell asleep in the midst of doing that. (What would his Aunt Impa say if she discovered he did something embarrassing like that?)

He was suddenly awoken when he felt a tap on the shoulder and a gentle voice above his ear.

"Wake up, sleepy head." The voice giggled.

He glanced up, then jolted immediately to attention when he realized it was Princess Zelda, he practically launched himself out of the chair to stand in stiff attention. The princess also probably didn't fail to notice that his cheeks were inflamed with the color pink.

"F-Forgive me your highness! I...I don't know why I fell asleep!" He stammered out awkwardly as he forced himself to bow.

Princess Zelda let out an airy chuckle as she motioned for him to be at ease. He felt his blush deepen...humiliated that he was caught sleeping in front of the Princess then started sputter like an idiot while his face was probably looking like a strawberry at that point.

"My knight, you need to relax. It's alright, I mean it was your lunch break anyway so there is no need to be upset with yourself." She instructed then added with a soft smile, "Besides, I thought it was kind of cute."

Cute?

Did the princess just refer to him as cute?

Babies were cute. Puppies and kittens were cute. He was trained to be a warrior since he was small...cute was never a word he would use to describe himself. And yet, he couldn't exactly bring himself to be annoyed with being called that, because it was a compliment from her highness.

"So tell me Sir Palin, what were you reading, was it not that interesting, considering how you've fallen asleep?" She asked playfully.

It was hard for Palin to wrap his mind around how normal Princess Zelda was. Sure she was talented with magic and was very intelligent...but she was still royalty. He felt guilty for not originally seeing her like a normal person until a couple of years ago. The monarchs were always just figureheads to him...symbols of their kingdom. But he realized how wrong he was; she was kind, smart, sometimes playful, cheerful...but also elegant, poised, diplomatic, stern but still gentle. She was passionate about books, history, mythology and everything else in between. She was nothing like he originally expected.

"Palin?" She rose a brow.

Right, she just asked him a question. He coughed awkwardly to clear his throat, while he scratched the back of his neck. He needed to relax, and not keep making a fool of himself in front of the princess.

"F-Forgive me, I suppose I was more tired than I realized." He choked out, doing his best to try to relax.

Palin kept eye contact as he spoke. Princess Zelda has made it clear to him that she appreciates it more if people would look her in the eyes while they talk to her. (Which was nowhere even close to easy as it sounds, but he will keep up the effort.)

She nodded at her knight, he took that as a silent que to continue.

"I was just reading up on some legends concerning the Triforce." Palin glanced back at the book on the table.

"Oh? Tell me some more." She smiled slightly.

"Well you know the tales all too well of the story of how it was created." Palin flipped through the pages of the book he embarrassingly was sleeping on earlier.

"Of course, it was created by the three Goddesses who created our world, a golden power they left behind." She nodded.

"Well according to this old text, there was another Goddess, one whom the three Goddesses entrusted the protection of the Triforce too." Palin furrowed his brows slightly in confusion.

"What's the matter?" The princess asked.

"It's just that this book is the only mention of this Goddess, I've never heard of it before, it even mentions that this deity was responsible for the creation of the Master Sword. No other text in here, save this one...or any other texts I've read in my life, have never mentioned this Goddess before, note her being the creator of the Master Sword. Everything I've ever read said that it was ancient sages who were responsible for crafting that blade." He explained, confusion evident on his face.

"Yes it is curious, that is the only book in our library that talks about that. Shad himself has been agonizing over that book, as well as the other strange tales in there. About a city in the sky, among other things." Princess Zelda stated.

Palin blinked as he tried to absorb it, but then he paused as he took in this almost, nostalgic expression on her highness.

"Your highness?"

"It is nothing. I just had the strangest sensation—I feel as if I heard this before." She whispered confused, yet had this wistful expression.

"Well you have read this text before, have you not milady?" He inquired.

Princess Zelda paused, momentarily appeared as if she was deep in thought.

"Yes...of course, that must be it." She smiled, but she didn't sound very convinced.

She was being strange all of a sudden, mysterious...as if her behavior was a puzzle to even herself. She seem to shook it off, as her more cheerful expression was adorned on her face again. She traced her fingers over the dry pages of the text before gently shutting the book.

"You know, you must stop with all the honorifics and titles when we're in private. You'll need practice addressing me in a more casual manner." The Princess smiled playfully.

"W-What...um, forgive me your high—er...Zelda, I mean..." His words tumbled out of his mouth rather awkwardly, saying her name outright without her title sounded even more forced. He took a breath, "What do you mean by practice?"

"Next week, at midnight, you will go behind the local tavern. I will be with you in disguise. Tetra had it arranged for us to meet someone who can help us with the mystery around this new master that hired an assassin to take Link's life." She explained simply.

"W-what?" Palin did a double-take, "You...Prin—Zelda! You can't do that! It would be dangerous for you to go outside the walls!"

The princess giggled as she started to set some of the books on the table in a neat stack.

"Oh don't be ridiculous. I will be disguised, and you and Tetra will be with me, were you not listening? And did you forget how well trained in magic I am?" She paused again then sighed with a small grin, "Besides Impa will be shadowing us from a distance, keeping an eye on me."

Palin's mouth hung wide open, if it was any wider his jaw would probably fall off. She couldn't be serious...and his aunt actually agreed to this madness?! Link was sent away to lay low for awhile, just for his safety! The assassin herself stated Zelda was another one of their targets! How could his aunt actually agree to this?!

"I am sorry...I know I am stepping out of line, but I won't allow it! You are also one of their targets too! Waltzing around the street at night with barely a handful of your knights to protect you is beyond dangerous!" Palin raised his voice.

He didn't care if he would get punished for talking to her this way. He didn't want to see her in danger either. She was far too important to the kingdom...and he...well it didn't matter how he felt.

She was the kingdom's treasure. While Zelda was more normal than he originally thought, he would not deny that she was special. Every time he talked to her, he got this feeling from her. That she was both no different than any ordinary girl, and yet so much more than she appeared to be. There was something both very human, and yet very ethereal about her.

She was growing in her magic, she was wise beyond her years. She was going to make Hyrule a fine queen someday, and they would prosper even more under her leadership. Palin could feel this.

But besides all that, she was also the King's only heir. You just don't let someone as important as her walking around the dead of night to meet some stranger, with small amount of protection. It was foolish and far too dangerous.

"I understand your concern but Palin—"

"Princess please!" He gazed into her eyes, pleading with her, "You are far too important to this kingdom to do anything reckless. If it's information you need, why not just Tetra, why not me and Tetra...I don't trust it, I have a bad feeling! I would rather our lives be risked than your own!"

Princess Zelda frowned at him, she was not angry or furious...she looked almost disappointed.

"I know, I know I am one of those targets. But that is one of the reasons I must go, I cannot idle by. I need to know why, with my own eyes and ears I need to know why I am a target. But the reason I must investigate this personally is because I won't forgive myself if I stayed in these walls, when a friend's life is in danger." Her eyes held sorrow yet determination in them.

He was about to open his mouth, but this time she instead cut him off.

"Palin, please understand, my duty as Princess is always to think of my people. I am responsible for their well being. Link aided me when he didn't need too, he trusted me when he had no reason too. But he helped me save my kingdom from Ganondorf's treachery. I got him involved, and I have to help."

The princess paused, a heavy look in her eyes, a tiny sigh escaped her lips.

"Link is my best friend, Palin. He was my first friend...until recently, he was my only friend. He always stood by me and supported me. He has helped me in more ways than you could even realize. He has sacrificed so much, and he doesn't ask for much. You have no idea how hard it was to get him to agree to lay low, and take leave from his duties here. I want to help protect my friend, the friend who helped me save what is most precious to me...my kingdom."

Palin couldn't bring himself to try to argue. He just stood there staring at the Princess, finding himself awed by her once again. She then approached him, she gingerly grabbed Palin's hands. He felt himself flush slightly at the feeling of her warm and soft hands, holding onto his own. But he pushed that to the back of his mind, as he gazed into her bright blue eyes, begging him to understand.

"Palin please, will you help me protect someone who is important to me...will you aid me in protecting my closest friend? I know I am important to Hyrule...but Link is too, even if they don't know it. Please, help me get to the bottom of this, so we can help our friend." She asked more softly.

He felt himself sink to his knees. Bowing to her, as he placed his right arm across his chest, holding onto her hand with his left hand—as he pressed the back of her hand against his forehead.

"I pledge to you my liege, I will protect you with my very life, and I will do everything in my power to protect what you deem most precious to your heart."

He felt horrible. Link was his friend too, all he cared about was Zelda's life. But Zelda, she cares about everyone. Every single person in this kingdom...all those who serve her...and Link. She was doing this for the sake of a friend. He knew Zelda was kind, but he was moved by her selflessness, how could he refuse her? Not when she looked at him like that, not when she pleaded with him that way. He was going to do whatever it took to make sure both she and Link were safe from this new threat. He also would do his best to trust her judgement from now on. She asked for his support, so he will give it to her, and that was all there was to it. He will not question it anymore.

He was her knight, she was his liege. It was his duty to follow her wherever she may go, and to be her sword and shield.

Palin only wished he could be more like her, to love her people so much that she was willing to try and thwart the threats herself, to investigate herself. Yes, he would help her, and hopefully—follow in her example.

Link left Epona out by the entrance to the enchanted forest, as Malon followed in after him. He felt so nostalgic. The smell of the clean forest air, the gentle breeze...this will always be home for him. Malon watched with wide-eyed curiosity as they walked in, she'd never been in a forest of any sort before, so this was new for her.

"Wow...it's so beautiful here!" She exclaimed.

He smiled softly, as he took her hand and scanned around to look for familiar faces, that was when he heard the sound of something familiar. It was the sound of a violin playing.

Link grinned and looked directly up into the tree above them.

"That music, wow that's beautiful...hmmm a lot of things are beautiful here I'm guessing?" Malon mused out loud.

"That would be one of my friends, Fado." Link grinned wider as the music stopped eventually, Fado looking down from the tree up high.

"Link? Link is that really you?!" The boy hopped down from branch to branch.

"Hey Fado."

"I know from your letters you said you were coming, I didn't realize it was today."

"Fado, seriously? The last letter I sent said it would be today." Link shook his head.

Fado just shrugged before turning to Malon.

"Oh, you brought a friend I see, and who is your cute friend?" Fado grinned.

Link barely suppressed the urge to roll his eyes. Saria was Link's closest friend, for a reason. Fado was sort of...the village prankster. Him and Fado were friends but not as close as him and Saria. Though that may have something to do with the fact that Fado always played pranks on Mido and Link was the one who'd get in trouble for it instead. (Though that was because Link helped in most of those pranks much to Saria's dismay...Fado was just better at running faster or hiding the evidence).

Fado bowed to Malon, who just giggled and introduced herself to him.

Link did this time roll his eyes, but silently chuckled to himself. Even though Fado never got caught in the past, Mido still couldn't stand Fado, probably because Fado was...popular.

Not with the Kokiri boys, but with the girls. Fado was mischievous but ever the charmer. If Mido ever tried lecturing Fado or pick on him, the girls always would come to Fado's defense, much to Mido's everlasting annoyance. What Mido couldn't stand most of all, was that like Link, Fado was good friends with Saria too—insanely jealous of them both.

Link was then distracted when he looked around the corner and noticed an old friend. His eyes widened, he left Malon to Fado as he ran over to see Saria standing up on the ledge. He ran so fast and grabbed her tiny body, scooping her up into a hug. The sound of her sweet laughter in his ears as he squeezed her was more than enough to sooth his spirit.

He missed her. There was no two ways around it. Saria was the closest thing Link had to a sister. She was his first and closest friend. The last time he honestly saw her, was years ago.

"Link I missed you too, but please don't hug me so tight! You're going to crush me!" She laughed.

He set the green-haired girl down.

"Sorry."

"So...it's been a while, let me look at you." She ran her eyes all over Link, a smile growing large on her little face, "You've gotten so big, you're so grown up."

"I may have changed on the outside, but not on the inside, I'm still Link—you're best friend."

He was then surprised to find a quick pain in his nose, Saria actually flicked him in the face! Her sweet expression transformed into one that was annoyed and disappointed.

"Well Mr. Best Friend, you should of visited us more often!" She nagged.

"I know, I'm sorry." He laughed as he rubbed his nose, "As a way to apologize, I brought someone here you'd want to meet."

Saria then gasped as she looked around Link's legs to get a better glance. He chuckled at her child-like curiosity as she looked over Malon, who was still conversing with Fado (who now was surrounded by the other Kokiri children, who have all come out to see what was going on).

"Is that her? The girl you talk about in your letters?" Saria asked.

"Yep, that's Malon." Link nodded.

"Let's not stand around here, you must introduce me!"

Saria grabbed onto Link's hand with her small one and dragged him down towards where Fado and Malon were. They made their way through the tall grass, over to the dirt path where now Malon was basically talking to all the Kokiri children whom all surrounded her. Each one asking her question after question. (Mido looked annoyed, not that it surprised Link.)

"Malon," He interrupted, "I want you to meet someone special."

Her hair blowed in the wind, as she smiled at Link. Link did his best not to blush in front of the others. She was beautiful, seeing her red hair stand out in this lush green forest made her even more noticeable. But the last thing Link needed was to be embarrassed in front of Malon.

Malon moved around the children and walked towards the two, she squatted down to be more at eye level with Saria, both girls smiled tenderly at one another.

"So you must be Saria, I'm guessing. It's nice to finally meet you, Link has told me so much about you." Malon offered her hand out.

Saria nodded and took it, shaking Malon's hand.

"Likewise, I've been wanting to meet you for a while too, Link told me much about you as well in his letters." Saria replied.

Link felt himself more at peace than earlier that day. Just seeing his childhood friend meet Malon, seeing them start to hit it off and talk as if they were old friends, like they were right now...it made him happier than he'd been all day. It meant a lot to him that Malon would meet his friends, and that his friends would like her.

He had no family, they were the closest thing to it, he couldn't exactly bring Malon to anyone to see if they approve of her. But he knew Fado and Saria would approve of Malon.

Link's happiness was deflated when the embarrassing questions began.

"So are you Link's girlfriend?" Fado asked.

Link wanted so bad to tell Fado to be quiet, he knew what Fado was up to, but he didn't want to let it show that he was getting annoyed. That would only encourage Fado further.

"Um...well..." Malon glanced over at Link.

"Girlfriend? You mean she's not your wife?" One of Mido's friends asked.

"What's a wife?" One of the girls asked.

"Dunno...I think they're kind of like mates?" One of the other boys piped in.

"What's a mate?" One of the other girls then spoke up.

"I don't have a clue...hey Link what's a mate?" The boy who always sat by the entrance asked.

Oh Link really wanted to hurt Fado. He deliberately started all this on purpose!

"Oh...um...mates are something...well..." Malon laughed, really not sure how to explain, she then instead backtracked, "And no I am not his wife."

"Why not? Isn't that what you Hylians do...don't you have husbands and wives and stuff, I mean whatever that means, but I know it's important to the creation of Hylians—at least I think it is." Fado added in.

Link wanted to just crawl in a hole.

"Wait...what do you mean the creation of Hylians? How do they get created?" Mido popped in finally, now genuinely curious as everyone else.

"You mean they don't get created like us?" One of the girls popped in again.

"No of course not dummy! They are different from Kokiri!" Mido shook his head.

"How?" She asked Mido back.

"...well I mean they age and stuff! And they don't have fairies! And...ummm...well they weren't created by the Great Deku Tree!" Mido exclaimed.

"But how do they get created?" Mido's friends now all asked at the same time.

Link really hated Fado right now for what he started. He was feeling himself flush, Malon started to as well.

"Yeah Link! How do they get created? Come on! Tell us!" Fado smiled, mischievously.

Granted Fado probably didn't have a clue, but he could sense he was embarrassing and annoying Link, and that was all the trouble-maker friend of his cared about.

"Fado, I'd rather not discuss it." Link grumbled.

"Wait...you're blushing, you're both blushing?! I knew it! I heard it was something weird and embarrassing! Tell me! I wanna know the weird and embarrassing ways you guys create Hylian children!" Fado snickered at their discomfort.

"Fado that's enough!" Saria smacked Fado upside the head.

"Ow! Geez why did you have to hit me so hard?" Fado whined.

"Okay everyone enough badgering Link about things that don't concern us! You guys, go back to doing the chores and getting tonight's party ready! It's Link's birthday! We should be celebrating his return, not embarrassing him!" Saria scolded everyone.

The kids all one by one left, begrudgingly, following Saria's orders. Link was taken a bit aback by this. He knew from the letters that it seemed Saria was now the one in charge of the Kokiri (Fado helping her), but he just found it so hard to believe that Mido would willingly step down, even if it was for Saria.

Saria let out a sigh, she gave Link a more serious look. Link frowned, he had a feeling he knew where this was going. She turned away and glared at Fado.

"Fado, you stop goofing around, or I won't play duets with you anymore!"

"What?! No I'm sorry okay! Come on, everyone loves our duets! I promise I won't cause anymore trouble for the rest of Link's birthday!"

"Promise?"

"Yes! Just don't take away the duets!"

Link couldn't help but laugh, despite the change in Saria's mood, she always knew how to get Fado to cave. He bended easily when she either threatened his violin or that she'd stop playing duets with him.

"Fado, could you please take Miss Malon on a tour, Link and I have some important things to talk about." Saria said more seriously.

Fado's face changed, mirroring her expression and nodded.

He bowed to Malon again, motioning for her to follow. Link waved off to Malon, knowing that Fado's change in mood means he wouldn't have to worry about any pranks being pulled on Malon either. But the change in mood, not just on Saria, but both on Fado too, really concerned Link.

That was when Link felt something was very wrong.

"Saria..."

"Link, I know you want to see this temple I spoke of in the letters...but, that will have to wait, I need to show you something."

He nodded and followed after her. His heart felt dread though, as they were walking in the direction towards the Great Deku Tree. He didn't like the change in mood and now this. That wasn't good news.

I really love Fado from Wind Waker, I know he's a very minor character that you only see briefly, but from the little we saw of him, I adored him. And the fact that he was a Kokiri I felt that he would of had to of met Link and Saria before all that stuff happened. At least that's how I see it. That's my headcanon and I'm sticking to it.

More serious business going on. Trouble is a brewing and our heroes are going to try to get to the bottom of it!

Next chapter you guys will definitely want to see!

Also yes I changed the title of the fanfic, because I felt this title is more fitting for the story and for what I have planned.

A little bit of Malink, a bit of Palin and Zelda ship teasing, and one other ship I'm ship teasing that I threw in some fun for it. What me and my friend Tim like to call, Sageshipping. Aka Saria and Fado. It's a crack ship of the crackiest caliber, but it's so cute, and we adore it, and they're both awesome Kokiri sages, and I think they'd be cute together! So yeah!

Also in Skyward Sword you have the Temple of Time, yet the sacred Temple in the forest where the Master Sword lies. I have this theory that the Temple in the Lanryu desert eventually...becomes the same Temple of Time in Ocarina of Time, and the area around it Hyrule Castle of course.

But since the Temple is drastically far away in Twilight Princess, that leads me to believe the Master Sword was moved, and the old sacred temple in Skyward Sword (which is also closer to the Forest Temple in that game, just like both are close to each other in Twilight Princess, where as the Temple of Time and the Forest Temple couldn't be more further away in Ocarina), becomes the new (old?) Temple of Time in Twilight Princess.

That is also my headcanon and I'm sticking to it.
