*Fierykit's POV*

Fierykit jumped to the top of her cliff. Today she was finally going to become an apprentice! She thought about what mentors she would want to have. Emberstrike would be good... No I heard he was really strict. What about Cinderyowl? She had mentored her father, and he was leader! She decided she would be fine with anyone. Fierykit turned around to where the volcano was. She could see it in perfect detail, even though it was far away. The hard black rocky surface, some outcroppings, and small shrubs that found their way onto the rock. She recalled Blackash saying that your warrior assessment was set on the volcano.

Fierykit scented Scorchingkit climbing up the cliff and turned to him. His face showed he had made a decision about something. "Scorchingkit? You are leaving us aren't you?"

He nodded. "I'm leaving now. I want to say goodbye now, I won't be able to if I announced it to the entire clan."

Fierykit shook her head. "I'm not saying goodbye now. I'm coming with you." She saw him about to speak, to make her stay. "No, I've made up my mind and I'm coming with you."

Scorchingkit sighed, but nodded and headed away from the camp, with me behind him. We didn't know the territory, but we knew to travel this way. Once we were out of camp, we saw the rest of the territory was mostly open, rocky ground. The sun beat down, but I felt fine, under my short pelt. On the other hand, Scorching had a fluffy and long pelt. I just noticed it. He truly was a Snowclan cat.

I sighed, when I saw eyes staring at me from a shrub. "Scorchingkit, there is someone here." I whispered.

He stopped and looked to where I was staring. Suddenly the cat walked out. It was a tom with brown fur and a short pelt, like me. But he wasn't from our clan, and he had a strange scent on him. He smirked when he saw us. "Surly you two can't be apprentices? I expected more from my new clan."

I glared at him. "Who are you?"

"Well they call me a Warmpelt at Snowclan. But with you two, Shortpaw I guess. I am going to join Fireclan. Which way is the camp?" He said.

I flicked my tail towards where we came from, and he bounded off. Another warrior from Snowclan? If I wasn't a kit I would think they were invading us.

After what seemed like forever, I scented Snowclan's border. I sighed and turned to Scorchingkit. He looked back at me, his eyes determined. "I am going there. You can't stop me."

I looked back to the snowy territory. "Are you sure you want to? It looks so…cold. Snowclan isn't to be trusted."

He nodded. "I have to. Goodbye Fierykit. Thank you for coming with me. I couldn't have a better sister."

My eyes started to tear up. Scorchingkit licked my ear then ran into Snowclan's territory. That would be the last I see of him until the gathering.

I stayed there for what seemed about a moon. Hoping he would come back. I started to turn around when I saw a cat running towards me. Scorchingkit! I was about to scream out his name, when I noticed the pelts were different. This was a brown and black pelt, not Scorchingkit's ginger pelt. I turned and ran back to camp, hoping the Snowclan cat wasn't chasing me.

I reached the camp, and panted. I escaped! I snuck into the camp, trying not to be detected, but too late Hotpelt ran up to me. "Fierykit! Oh where have you been! We were worried sick, and where on earth is your brother!"

I knew I would have to say it sooner or later. "Scorchingkit joined Snowclan. I went with him, hoping I could change his mind, but failed." I hung my head.

Hotpelt look shocked. "He's a Coldfur! My own son!" She raced off crying.

I padded back into the camp, where I saw Blazingkit talking to Shortpaw. I raced up to Blazingkit to tell him the news. He won't like it. Fierykit thought bitterly. "Blazingkit! Scorching joined Snowclan!"

Blazingkit turned to me, furious. "Blazingpaw now. You left us while I was having my apprentice ceremony with this new 'warrior'." He flicked his tail at Shortpaw. "Shortpelt." Blazingpaw said.

I looked shocked. "You had your apprentice ceremony without me!?"

He nodded. "And Scorchingkit. But apparently he will never be a Fireclan apprentice." He shrugged, and then his gaze softened. "Don't blame yourself about Scorchingkit, Fierykit. He was disloyal, but you aren't and will become a great warrior. By the way, Lavastar said he would hold your apprentice ceremony tomorrow."

I nodded, but I still blamed myself about Scorchingkit. I turned to Shortpelt. "Congrats." I mumbled, and then padded away.

What do you guys think of the story so far? Anything you guys want me to add? I don't usually have QOTD, but I'll do one today.

QOTD: Whose story do you like better? Fierykit's or Barepaw's?
