Starrk grinned. "So blondie, tell me about yourself."
Fai picked at his food, eating in small bites. "Hmm... Not much to tell."
That was a little bit of a lie. There was a lot to tell - just not much of it particularly... happy. "I live with my cat, Sakura. I love to cook. And paint. I sometimes sell paintings or do commissions... It doesn't earn me all that much but I get by...My favorite color is blue. It seems to be related so all the nice things of the world, like water, and the sky, and ink... I also enjoy science, and I find people fascinating... Oh, and my favorite movie in this world is the Aristocats. That about cover it?" Fai grinned, twirling the pasta with his fork, but not really planning on eating it.
Starrk listened carefully to Fai's little life story. At the end he smiled. "Sounds like you have a pretty good life for yourself." I might be jealous, he thought with a wry chuckle.
Fai looked down, avoiding Starrk's eyes as he smiled a forced smile.
"Aha~ I suppose you could say that... And what of yourself?" He looked back up, addressing the other man with a small smile and friendly eyes.
That fake smile was back. But he wouldn't question it.
"My story isn't an interesting one." he shrugged. "I have a pet as well, part wolf part German Shepard. I call her Lilinette. I like to shoot at the range. Though I don't get any money for that," a light chuckle followed. "I'm in the family business. I like the color grey and blue. And I like old westerns." He grinned, poking at another piece of pasta.
"Aha! I can see you being the old western type... I take it that's where the gun fascination stemmed from~?" Fai asked, easing back into simple conversation. He didn't like talking about himself...
Fai had put his fork down, satisfied already and happy to let Starrk finish. He wasn't ever one to eat much, anyway.
Starrk smiled, taking a large bite of Fai's abandoned food. "Yeah, probably." he answered. Not knowing of his adverseness to talking about himself, he asked. "Tell me about your art."
Fai thought for a moment, then laughed.
"Well, I do whatever I feel like, really... Sculpture, photography, painting, sketching... Although just now I prefer to paint. Large scale, too. I'm working on something like that just now, actually~" he said, his features bright again. The blonde artist was very passionate towards his trade, even simply talking about it made him excitable.
Starrk raised an eyebrow. "You're working on something now?" He was genuinely curious. "What is it?" he asked, staking the now empty dishes into a neat pile on the edge of the table, pushing them off to the side.
Fai opened his mouth to explain, but suddenly had a better idea. He smiled to himself, then directed it up at Starrk.
"Want to see for yourself, maybe..?"
Fai's blue eyes were lit, and his lips quirked ever so slightly in invitation. It was definitely a flirtatious look being sent Starrk's way, but then again, a lot about Fai's general manner seemed just that little bit little sultry. Even the way he moved was smooth, and graceful.
Starrk grinned through the blush that was threatening to paint his cheek. "I assume that this project is at your house?" he said, watching the blonde's eye's shine in a very...desirable way.
Fai nodded with a light "Mhm~."
"If you'd want to, you're more than welcome to come over..?" he smiled in his friendly way, a little bit of hope showing through the tone of his soft voice.
"Yeah," Starrk's lips curled into slow smile. "Wanna blow this joint?" he asked in a slightly husky voice. He was still trying to keep is blush in check.
Fai grinned back in reply, laughing lightly.
"C'mon then Mr. 'Bad', before you get out the explosives and get us in big trouble," he laughed sarcastically, standing and fixing himself. He still wore the jacket, many sizes too big for the little frame.
"Alright, blondie." Starrk laughed. "Lead the way." He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small leather wallet. Sliding out a couple of twenties, he dropped them on the table and turned to Fai. "Ready to go?" he asked.
Tell me what you think ~ bree
