FLY TRAP
Chapter 7
Malcolm

He slowly regained a form of consciousness. Normally the sense of hearing is the first to return, but Malcolm could hear nothing. He wasn't able to determine whether there were no sounds to hear, or if his hearing was impaired. He was sure his eyes were open, but he could see nothing. He tried to move his hands to his face but he was still paralysed.

With a sudden panic, he realised that he wasn't breathing. He tried to take a breath, but he couldn't. He had no control over his body. He made himself calm down as it occurred to him that he wasn't short of breath. He was totally motionless. The only sense he had was the sense of touch.

He concentrated on that.

There was a pulling sensation over his body and a sudden heat. He realised with shock that his clothes were being removed,

He tried to resist.

There was nothing he could do.

He didn't want to die here slowly
Not afraid of dying, afraid of dying alone.

He suddenly felt pain in the back of his head. He couldn't cry out, but his eyes filled with tears; he could feel them on his skin. Then the pain was repeated down his back and into his chest.

The pain was too much.

Malcolm slipped into unconsciousness.
