Here you go guys, another chapter, this time staring a cross-over.
Enjoy :)
Iris West-Allen awoke to the new morning sun flashing through the blinds of her and Barry's apartment. She opened and blinked her eyes a few times until finally her vision got accustomed to the light. Turning her head, she smiled at the sight of her husband slightly snoring next to her. The scarlet speedster was finally able to get a couple of days off from work, but before they could do anything romantic, Central City needed the Flash.
Carefully, so she didn't wake him, the woman moved her face closer to Barry's and kissed his forehead, getting out from the warmth of his body and covers. Taking a quick shower, and getting herself dressed, Iris made her way towards the kitchen, fixing herself a small breakfast while she made another set that was meant for a few people.
The Flash needed a lot of calories after all. And it reminded her that there was also another certain superhero that needed the calories, which was why she was up so early.
Suddenly she heard the sound of paper fluttering, and felt the wind on her back, before finally she realised what she had in her hands had become empty, and arms where wrapped around her waist.
"Morning," the half a sleep voice of Barry spoke in her ear.
"Morning to you too," she replied, turning in her husband's arms and kissing him on the lips. When they parted, Iris looked over his shoulder and saw that the table was now packed with food. Food that she had planned on making. Oh well she thought. "Why are you up so early?" she asked, moving back a little so she could gaze into his eyes and wrap her arms around his neck. "Aren't you tired?"
"I could ask the same thing," he countered. "Why is my beautiful wife out here, instead of a warm bed?"
"Well," Iris started, "For one, I was planning to make breakfast, but someone already beat me to it." Barry smiled that cocky smile that the woman loved so much. Unfortunately that same smile was also the one that came with trouble. "Also I've made plans today."
"Plans?" the speedster asked. "What plans are-?"
The question that the man was about to pose was answered for him when a breach suddenly opened up in their living room. Iris felt Barry's body tense, probably thinking that an enemy was about to come bursting through. But instead of a bad guy, a familiar blonde stepped through instead.
The blonde having been one Kara Danvers.
"I'm sorry I'm late," Kara said walking through the breach. "I was saying goodbye to Cat and Kiera, and Kiera wouldn't let me go until..." the woman trailed off, her blue gaze directing themselves on her and Barry. But more on the speedster. A blush coated the woman's cheeks as she turned away.
"I'm so sorry!" she apologised. "I-I was interrupting something wasn't I?"
Both Iris and Barry gave the Girl of Steel a quizzical look, but after a couple of seconds, realisation kicked in. Barry Allen, the Flash, and hero, to the people of Central City, was standing in his kitchen... in only his boxers. Iris tried her best not smile but failed, and Barry took one look at himself before a faint blush assaulted him from the neck up.
"I'll, err, be right back," he said, before speeding out of the kitchen, only to return a second later, fully dressed.
"It's safe now Kara," Iris spoke to the girl who was still looking away. When the blonde turned to take a peek, and indeed saw that it was safe, she smiled embarrassingly at the couple.
"I came at a wrong time, didn't I?"
"No, no you didn't," said Barry, he and Iris both shaking their heads. But then the CCPD employee gave Kara a look, which meant a question popped into his head. "Wrong time for what?"
"Oh," Kara looked even more awkward. "I guess Iris hasn't told you yet?"
"Told me what?" he asked and questioned at the same time, looking at his wife next to him.
"Nothing much," she said, playing with Barry's shirt. "Except that I'm going to Kara's Earth to help out pick out a wedding dress. I hope that's okay?" There was a pregnant pause of silence of Barry not answering, and Iris was beginning to wonder if she should have had said something first. But then a genuine smile came on her husbands lips.
"Of course I'm fine with it," he replied, earning a squeak from Iris which was followed by a kiss. As fast as the darker skinned woman could, Iris grabbed a few things before making her way to Kara. Once she was ready, the blonde superhero used the device that Barry had given her and opened up the breach once more. With a wave goodbye, the two women went through and the breach closed behind them.
Barry stared at the space where his wife was only a second ago. But as soon as she disappeared did the sound of his cell phone go off. Taking it out from his back pocket, he saw that it was from S.T.A.R Labs.
He smirked and then answered. "Hey Cisco, what's up?"
"Barry!" Cisco cried out in alarm. "There was a breach that had just opened up, and it was at your place. Is everything alright?!"
"Everything's fine," Barry reassured him. "Just a friend saying hello."
Iris was sitting on a comfy, cushioned chair, waiting patiently for Kara to come out from behind the curtain, wearing the dress for her big day. However, while doing so, Iris was also entertaining a new addition to the dress fitting.
Kiera, Cat and Kara's bundle of joy. Unfortunately, the CEO had to go to an important meeting at CatCo (even though the woman was still on her time off) and hadn't been able to take care of their daughter. The blonde superhero would have asked Alex to babysit, but she and Astra where on a date, and the two women were very adamant to not disturb them. From what she heard from Kara, something serious had happened between the older Kryptonian and the agent, but Iris knew that it was none of her business.
So instead, hey opted that Kiera go with Iris and Kara. And suffice to say, Iris was glad they made that decision. Right now, little girl was sleeping in Iris' lap, her head, which started to show signs of blonde strands, was laid on the woman's chest, using them as some sort of pillow. She's so cute she thought. Holding her made her think of the day of when she would have children in the future.
Her stomach was doing flips just thinking about it.
"Okay Iris," Kara called out from behind the curtain, stopping Iris from daydreaming any further. "I'm ready." Hearing that, the leader of Team Flash stood up carefully, as to not wake the girl in her arms up, and waited for her new friend from another earth to appear.
Her jaw nearly dropped when she did.
A white, strapless dress that showed off the superheroes curves beautifully, flowed down onto the floor in waves. Fingerless, elbow-length gloves that were attached to a ring on the middle finger adorned Kara's arms, and around her neck was a white frilled choker. Her hair was tied in a braid that reached the middle of her shoulder blades and to finish off, there were several flowers on the hem of the dress, just underneath the blonde's cleavage.
The blonde inside the dress began to blush from her neck up when she noticed that Iris was staring at her, her mouth still agape. "So," Kara spoke up, gaining the woman's attention. "What do you think?" she asked, playing with the dress.
"You look astonishing, Kara," said Iris, making her way towards the woman. "And I also think that Cat Grant is a very lucky woman."
"Thanks," Kara replied, wringing her fingers together. The heroine looked at herself in the mirror, but the moment she did, a forlorn expression took over her features. Iris noticed this, and looked worriedly at the girl.
"Kara?" she called, "Is something wrong?"
"I'm fine," she replied, but Iris knew she was lying, and Kara realised that too, letting out a sigh. "Can I tell you something?"
"Anything."
The blonde superhero took in a deep breath before letting it out as a sigh. "I'm... scared," she confessed. "I mean I'm happy. Extremely happy. I'm marrying the person that I love dearly. And excluding the day Kiera was born, our wedding day will be the best day of my entire time I've been here on earth."
"But...?" said Iris, knowing that there was a 'but' in this.
"I'm scared that something will go wrong," she continued. "Like embarrassing myself, or worse, embarrassing Cat. Just thinking about it makes my stomach churn."
"You know I was in the same boat, right?" Iris told her, the blonde's blue gaze meeting her own. "Do you want me to tell you what I did when I was getting married to Barry the first time?" Kara gave a nod, after thinking for a moment. "I asked myself two simple, but important questions; Do I love him, and does he love me.
"So, Kara. Let me ask you; do you love Cat Grant?"
"I do," she said instantly. "More than anything. More than the stupid award I got from the President, more than myself. She is, as much as Kiera is, my whole world and is all that truly matters to me."
Iris smiled at the declaration. There really was no point in saying the second part, but she did anyway. "And does she love you?" The blonde smiled almost immediately, the confidence returning to her eyes.
"She does," she said with no hesitation. "Otherwise she wouldn't have asked me to marry her."
Smiling at her answer, Iris clasped Kara's shoulder, giving it a squeeze. "Then you have nothing to worry about. Besides, even if something did go wrong, I'm pretty sure that Cat wouldn't care."
"Thanks Iris," said Kara, hugging the woman in front of her but making sure that she didn't squash Kiera in the process.
"No problem, like I said; I've been there," she said, parting from the blonde superhero. "So, what do you think of the dress?" she asked, getting back to the task on hand. Kara again saw herself in the mirror, but this time she smiled.
"It's beautiful," she told Iris. A moment longer of her looking at herself, the Girl of Steel called to the woman that owned the store they where at, said woman now rounding the corner. "I'll take this dress."
Cat let out an exhausted sigh as she came to the front door of her apartment. She had spent near enough the entire day at CatCo, listening to idiots and imbeciles on how to not run a company, given out ideas to which she denied. And after such a day, all she wanted to do now was see her family, kiss her daughter good night and sleep in bed, and cuddle, with the most beautiful woman in the world.
Opening the door, the woman was surprised to hear laughter. Curious, Cat shut the door behind her and entered the penthouse, and in the living room, sitting on her couch, was Kara and another woman she didn't know. "Kara?"
Ocean orbs turned to see Cat and smiled brightly. "Hey!" she greeted, getting up from the couch, making her way toward the older blonde and kissed her.
"Hello to you too, darling," Cat replied. "And whose our guest?"
"Oh right," said Kara, turning toward said guest. "Cat Grant, meet Iris West-Allen, Barry's wife. She came with me for the dress fitting." The woman herself stood up at that point, heading toward Cat with a hand extended.
"It's nice to finally meet you, Miss Grant. Kara's told me a lot about you."
"'Cat' please," she requested, "and how is the Flash doing?" Iris' eyes widened in surprise from the sudden reveal, and the girl then began to try her best to say that her husband wasn't the speedster, that he was in fact a normal man, with a normal job. Cat enjoyed the spectacle, but fortunately for Iris, Kara saved the day, like always.
"It's okay, Iris," she said. "Cat knows."
"He isn't very subtle," Cat added.
"Right," Iris chuckled nervously. "And speaking of my husband, I best start heading back."
"I'll help you out," offered Kara, taking out something from her skirt's pocket. It looked to be a small device, and when she pressed a button, there was suddenly a blue worm hole in her living room.
Now I've seen everything thought Cat. With a hug from Kara, Iris walked over to the blue entrance, turning so she could wave (which was returned by both the blondes), before walking through, the worm hole closing behind her. "Well, that was interesting," Cat spoke up.
"Yeah, it was," Kara said absentmindedly, her gaze still on the place where Iris had been. "Hey Cat?"
"Yes Kara."
"After today, I really can't wait."
Cat's hazel gaze turned to her fiancée and cocked a blonde brow. "Can't wait for what, darling?" Before the blonde superhero answered, she leaned into Cat and kissed her. Unlike the first one, this one lasted longer, Kara putting all the love and affection into the contact. After a few seconds, Kara pulled away, but only slightly, her lips ghosting over Cat's.
"Kara Grant," the Girl of Steel whispered, making Cat's eyes grow wide. "I can't wait to be called Kara Grant."
That was the best damn thing that Cat had heard all day.
Sorry if my description about the dress was a bit naff. But this was all I could think off.
Anyway, bye!
