A/N: And again! You guys are so great, but some reviews would really be appreciated! Love y'all!
She ignored him, pointedly, for the next two days. Not that he really tried to reach out; he'd become absorbed in his plans for Marcus. So, it was only a mild surprise when she appeared in the door of the study. She was quiet for a bit as she looking over the plans before speaking.
"You're going to need to hurt me." It was said quietly, but with an indifferent kind of confidence. His head snapped up to look at her, wondering what she could possibly mean. "The only way Star Fleet will accept me back into ranks is if they believe I was working against my will. You're going to have to make it look like you've been torturing me." His stomach churned at the idea, though he did see the logician it. He might need her later, in case things fell apart. He turned back to his plans.
"Of course. Once you're back in, I want you to find a way onboard whatever ship will be coming after me." He wrote a few notes as she nodded.
"Alright. When do we start?" She asked as he stood, turning to face her.
"Now." Without warning, he threw the first punch.
She knew he had gone easy on her, but that didn't make it hurt less. She now suffered from a black eye, two broken ribs, multiple contusions, a split lip, and a broken arm. She had turned down his offer of painkillers, reminding him how suspicious it would seem . Now, they sped towards Star Fleet Headquarters to drop her off. He dropped low before grabbing her arm and throwing her out. She fell on her broken arm, and very rapidly passed out.
After two more days, she was back in business with nothing more than a sling for her rapidly healing arm. She was on her way to the medical offices to request a new commission when she ran into a tall, broad man. She looked up to apologize, but her scared look quickly turned to a grin.
"Leonard McCoy? Really?" She laughed a little as she regained her balance.
"Genevieve Harrison! How are you?" He went to hug her, but hesitated on seeing her sling. "What happened here?" He looked it over, seeming to inspect it.
"My arm was broken." She shrugged him off with a small smile. "But, more importantly, what are you doing here? You just disappeared after graduation." He chuckled, scratching the back of his neck.
"I've been on the deep space mission. Just got back because of the attack." She perked up, realizing what ship he was talking about. It was the most likely to chase after Khan, and now she knew how she'd get onboard.
"Yeah, well, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get a new commission. That terrorist, K-John Harrison, took me hostage. I'm afraid captains will see me as too weak." She gave a convincing puppy pout, hoping he hadn't caught her slip. He seemed to think it over, before grinning.
"Well, lucky for you, I happen to be friends with the captain of the Enterprise. I could get you one of the best commissions in Star Fleet." He seemed smug, and she gave a small grin.
"Dr. McCoy, I can't ask you to do that. I'm sure there are many more qualified cadets." She was playing him, and it was only too easy.
"C'mon Genevieve, I want you to come work with me. It'll be fun." He pleaded, looking down at her hopefully. She felt a small twinge of guilt at using him like this's, but she pushed it away.
"Alright, if you can get me the commission, I will accept it." McCoy grinned brightly, taking her good arm.
"Well, come on then darlin'. You'll need to be introduced to Kirk and the crew." He dragged her away before she could protest, and she was moved onto the ship by the time they sped off after Khan. Everything happened according to plan.
A/N: Well? What's going to happen when Khan comes aboard? Why is Bones so nice? Will they succeed against Marcus? Review and stay tuned.
