I am so sorry for the over 6 month delay. I finally got what I needed, so I'm able to type again.
As I mentioned in the PSA chapter of 'Jori Collection', these updates will be twice a week, most likely Tuesdays and Fridays.
I wanted to post these on Tuesday, but decided to wait a day, give you all a day break between story updates.
I have decided that this will be the original 15 chapters outlined to me by Raiultima, with an epilogue, which I realized while re-reading this fic from the beginning is what I called the prologue on accident. The epilogue will take place in the future, maybe a few years or so after the end of the story.
Disclaimer: I own nothing. I wish I did, but I don't.
After the trip to the zoo, Cat's spirit seemed to have lightened. No one called or texted either girl, much to Cat's surprise due to Jade's possessiveness as of late.
"Want to stop by somewhere and grab some dinner?" Tori asks from the driver's seat of Cat's mother's car, since she doesn't have a car yet and Cat wasn't in the mood to drive anywhere.
"I don't think that'd be such a good idea." Cat answers. "Jade knows where we frequent, since none of the restaurants we go to have changed, and I don't want to risk running into her in the chance she decided to drive around town." She says, not fearing Tori knowing since she already knows about what Jade does to her.
"Ok, want to order something when we get back then?" She asks, her grip on the steering wheel tightening because of the fear in Cat's eyes from the slight chance of seeing Jade.
"No. We still have over half the pizza left from last night. We can just eat that." Cat answers, closing her eyes with a sigh.
"You okay?" Tori asks, glancing at the red-head beside her briefly before going back to the road.
"No. I can't get Jade out of my head now." Cat answers, opening her eyes. "I know that come Sunday she's going to be furious with me for not getting out of the assignment."
"Why Sunday? Why are you seeing her Sunday?" Tori asks, anger and worry entering her tone.
"She's picking me up to take me to dinner. She texted me last night, telling me that she'll be at my house by 6:30 to take me out, and if I'm late, I'll regret it." Cat says, closing her eyes again.
"She won't touch you, okay?" Tori asks, letting her anger guide her actions and words. "We'll tell my dad, he can get a restraining order so she can't be near you. Okay?" She states, rubbing Cat's leg with her right hand, hoping to comfort the red-head.
"No, don't bother your dad." Cat says, fearful. "Jade will find out and she won't be happy. Besides, she's going to New York after graduation for college and to work on her screenplays and Broadway. I won't see her after that, so I'll be fine." She says, hoping Jade doesn't change her mind and make Cat go with her after graduation.
"If she does anything to you, no matter what, tell me. She will not get away with this. I swear." Tori tells Cat as they near the Vega house, eyes on the road.
"I don't think I should." Cat says after a moment of tense silence. "I don't want you to get hurt." She says as they pull into the Vega driveway.
"I will not let her get away with hurting you. If I see one more bruise, a cut, anything on you, I'm sorry, but I'm telling my dad." Tori tells her, not looking at the girl beside her. "No matter what." She says quietly as they get out of the car.
They spend the rest of the day in a somewhat tense silence, eating the left over pizza, occasionally looking at each other, not paying attention to whatever Tori put on the t.v. By 8:30, Tori gets up and throws away the paper plates and napkins they used to eat with, sitting back down beside Cat.
"I need to tell you something." Tori says, not looking at Cat.
"What?" Cat asks, curious with the look on Tori's face.
"I like you." Tori says quickly, looking away.
"I like you too." cat says, not knowing what Tori's talking about.
"Cat, I mean I like you like I want to date you." Tori tries again, shifting away slightly.
The two sit in silence, not looking at each other or doing anything other than sit uncomfortably and stare at either the t.v., or the wall.
"For how long?" Cat asks after almost ten minutes of silence.
"Since before the drive to Mona Patterson's house. It was that night, after we got back to my place that I realized it." Tori answers in a quiet tone, still refusing to look at Cat.
"Have you ever dated a girl before?" Cat asks after a minute of silence on both parts after Tori's answer.
"No. Never."
"Why me?" Cat asks shortly after Tori answers.
"Not to be mean, but I don't know." Tori says, finally facing Cat. Before Tori can say anything else, Cat leans in and kisses her.
Sorry for this being so short, but I'm trying to get into the feel of writing this again. Next chapter will be longer, I promise.
I hope I haven't lost any readers either because of my lateness, or because of how this story is going.
Again, updates will be twice a week, unless I can't figure out how to flow a chapter, in which case update's might be once a week until I get things figured out.
To those still reading, I thank you. I hope to read your reviews, and hopefully, I won't destroy my laptop again, so I can continue updating without such a long break.
Blessed Be.
