Day 3
Impending Date
It was Saturday now, the day right after Hideyoshi had brought Saki over so that his sister could meet his girlfriend. As he sat there on the couch at his house, he thought back on what Yuuko had told him. After Saki had left that day, his sister had said that there was more to the girl than she was showing. What exactly could his sister mean by saying that? Was Saki hiding something; but then again, everyone has secrets (well, most everyone).
Hideyoshi knew he should whole-heartedly trust his sister's words, but... was Saki really hiding something? Couldn't his sister just be... a little on-the-edge because he had gotten a girlfriend...? Did she really mean it, or was she just... picking on him? But even though those thoughts entered his mind, he couldn't make himself believe any of them.
His sister wouldn't lie to him, especially about something like this... and she was never wrong. She was right that one time that he didn't listen to her, so what difference is there now? There is no difference, but that would mean... that Saki is really hiding something...
But surely it's nothing big, right? Everyone (again, most everyone) has something to hide, big or small. Surely it was nothing major, right? Maybe she was just hiding a boys-love crush, or maybe just hiding that she's actually an Otaku. Just something minor like that, right...?
There's no way his first girlfriend could be hiding some big secret...
And just like that was how he convinced himself.
After having finished thinking about his sister's words, Hideyoshi remembered that he was going on a date with Saki tomorrow and that he had forgotten to tell his sister about it so far. So, deciding that it was better to tell his sister as soon as possible about the date, he stood up and starting heading up to his sister's room where she would be studying at this time of day.
However, before he started up the stairs, he decided to go and make some tea so that he could bring it up there to her. She didn't really like him interrupting her when she's studying, but she doesn't mind him bringing up something to drink every now and then. So, with that thought in mind, he went and readied the tea.
After finishing the tea, he placed it on a tray along with a couple of teacups before heading upstairs. When he got to the door to his sister's room, Hideyoshi carefully held the tray as he knocked on the door. "Sis, I made some tea." He called out, waiting for his sister's reply.
"Come in." He heard her say, her words allowing him to open up the door.
Yuuko was at her desk, a couple of textbooks stacked off to the side with an open one in front of her along with her notebook. She didn't look up at him as he walked in and set the tray down. "What are you studying?" Hideyoshi asked as he poured the tea into the two teacups.
"Math, memorizing formulas and such-such. I'm just reviewing some stuff for an upcoming test; but after this textbook, I'm going to study some more in Health." She told him, still keeping her eyes on the book as she wrote something down in her notebook.
"Two of your best subjects?" He asked, speaking in a friendly manner as he walked over to her with teacup and plate in hand. When his sister was finished with writing her note, Hideyoshi handed the tea over to her before going to get his.
"Yeah... Thanks for the tea." Yuuko said, taking a sip from the tea and feeling a little relieved. It was nice to take a break from studying every once and a while. After another sip, she looked back to Hideyoshi who was now sipping his own tea on the side of her bed. "So, what did you want to talk about?"
Hideyoshi blinked, wondering how she knew that he had been wanting to talk to her. "H-how did you know?"
"When you knocked on the door, you said 'I made some tea', not'I made you some tea'."
Hideyoshi, after a few moments of pause, gave off a soft smile. His sister knew him well. "Yes, I do have something to say."
"Well, spit it out."
"Saki and I have a date tomorrow."
"A... date?" Yuuko asked, not sure on what to feel. Her little brother getting a girlfriend was strange enough; but just hearing him saying he had a date made it sound all the stranger. She just had never imagined something like this happening, so what was she supposed to think about this!?
"That's right. It's tomorrow at 1:00, we're going to the aquarium." Hideyoshi told her, taking another sip from his tea as he wondered about his sister's strange reaction.
All of a sudden Yuuko set her tea down, standing up and quickly crossing the distance between them before leaning down, nearly getting up into his face. "I want all of the details." She ordered.
"H-hai, Aneue..."
Later That Night
Hideyoshi blinked, looking up over the couch he was lying on and over to his sister who was completely clothed for going outside, something quite unusual since she was usually lounging about only in a shirt and her panties this late in the day. "Sis, are you going out?"
"Yeah, shopping." Yuuko told him, heading to go put on her shoes.
Deciding to not ask her why she didn't just wait for tomorrow, Hideyoshi asked another question. "Then can you get some more toothpaste while you're out? We're almost out - we could also use some more shampoo and-"
Yuuko glanced back at him, only one eye visible as she glared. "I'll get the toothpaste."
"H-hai..."
Looks like he'll have to go shopping himself after his date.
Sakamoto Household
"How long are you going to lay there and cry?" Yuuji muttered, looking over at the brunette who was lying on his floor and getting his floor wet with tears.
"Hi-Hideyoshi has a date..." Akihisa muttered, crying into the floor as he continued, "a-and it's not me..."
"Just stop whining about that already."
"H-how can I!?" Akihisa exclaimed, jumping up onto his feet and glaring at the redhead. "That girl is going to steal away my Hideyoshi! How can I just let him go!?"
Yuuji sighed, leaning back against his bed. "If you're that worried about Hideyoshi, just follow him on his date." He looked over to his closet. "If you need a disguise, there's one right over in my closet. It's in a box and will fit you perfectly."
"Thanks, Yuuji! I knew I could count on you!"
