Chapter Seven: Jailbreak.
Black Joker, the warden of the Wonderful Wonderland Prison, walked through the halls of his prison with a bored expression on his face. Prior to this he and his counterpart, White the Jester, had held executions for a number of faceless inmates. These inmates were useless and would always be reborn and return to his prison; that were their faceless roles.
Though every now and then someone with a face would commit a crime, and these kinds of inmates he enjoyed. They were easy and fun to mess with, once you've got inside their head they crumbled and would constantly return to the prison for doubting themselves. But when a foreigner actually committed a wonderland crime, it was even more fun.
Black stop in his tracks in front of a particular cell. In his hands, he carried a metal tray with food and a drink. On the tray was a bowl of canned soup with a sweet bread bun on a plate, beside the bun was a medium sized glass of water. He didn't usually cater to the prisoners so he had to search through his kitchen for something for Marcy, he was quite reluctant to give her one of his sweet buns. Joker releases one side of the tray to grab the keys that hung on his belt from his side, pulling the large ring with keys on from his belt he lifts them to the lock on the cell down and unlocks it. He walks into the cell and stands in the doorway looking over at the sleeping girl.
A small irritated growl erupts from Joker's throat as he slams the cell door shut waking the blonde. "Time to wake up Marcy, Dinner time" Joker says dropping to the ground and sliding the tray in front of the blonde outsider.
Marceline pushes herself up into a sitting position and gazed at the tray of food. It wasn't what she expected for prison food, it looked a lot nicer and more appetizing; especially the sweet bun.
Black scowls at Marcy staring reaction to the tray of food, "what is this not to your taste, princess?" he sneers.
Marcy shakes her head looking up at the angered Joker. "No quite the opposite actually, it's just a lot nicer than I expected for prison food" she explains moving some stray hair which had fallen from her bun behind her ear.
Black sighs crossing his arms behind his head, careful not to knock his hat and leans back against the cell wall. "The prison doesn't cater food for its prisoners" he answers closing his eyes, Marcy raises her brow while taking the bowl of soup. "But we make exceptions for special prisoners, like you" Joker says opening his eye then winks it at the blonde.
The blonde foreigner shows no reaction to the warden's display of affection, instead, she takes the bowl of soup and brings it to her lips, and taking a small sip she pulls the bowl away from her mouth. "What soup is this?" she timidly asks giving Joker a side glance.
"Some tinned chicken soup" Joker yawn leaning deeper into the wall and closing his eye.
Marceline nods and takes another sip this time much larger. She soon finishes the tray of food, much to Black's dismay he wanted her sweet bun. "Fill better?" he asks looking at the girl beside him.
Marceline using her sleeve to wipe her mouth and nods to the warden, "thank you it was nice" she replies pulling her hair from the bun and fluffs it out then pulls it back together into a ponytail.
Black nods and stands, he dusts off his bottom and the back of his legs. He bends down and takes the tray then turns to leave, "Alright that's done back to work, see ya toots" he backhand waves. Exiting the cell he looks the door then gives Marcy another wave and disappears out of her view, leaving her alone to her thoughts again.

Another time change had passed, 52 left before I am free.
Black had left me 5-time changes again. Though I dislike the man it was nice to have some company in my dark, damp and lonely cell. It was worse than when I was grounded for a month when I was 9 for shoplifting a packet of sweets. I wasn't so bored this time as white left me a pink hair tie, for the last 5 time changes I had been playing with my hair, it helped take my mind of how helpless I was around those two being stricken with fear of the trauma they caused me.
Footsteps?...
I hear a faint echo of footsteps coming from the hall, they sounded as though they were coming towards me. I try moving forward as much as the chain would allow me to look outside to see who was coming down the hall. Either I wasn't far enough to see or I was hearing things and going crazy because I couldn't see a thing in the hall. The footsteps then stop, whoever it was they had made it to their location.
I just about catch a glimpse of a prison guard that had stopped quite a distance from me, I assumed I would see a faceless employee like at the Clover Tower. But to my surprise, this person had a face, a familiar. "H-Hey!" I call out trying to reach for the cell bars, but my collar forbids me. "You have a face that means you're a role holder right?" I call out, but they say nothing just stare at me.
"C-Can you help me please!?" I call out loudly even though I knew the Jokers would have heard me. Though it seemed luck was on my side as the faced man ran to me at my cell and grabs the bars peering in at me. A look of disbelief on his face. He had a youthful face with tousled, light brown hair and bright red eyes and wearing a black prison guard uniform, almost resembling White and Black's. The guard's face was very familiar though I could not think of his name.
"Marcy…" he said softly with a hint of disbelief in his voice. He continued to peer through the bars to stare at me.
"You know who I am?" I ask sliding back a bit with a raised brow. A lot of memories from Wonderland had been lost over the years of waiting, I had little memories and most of them only involving Peter and Joker the two that impacted the most. At my question, the man moves away slightly from the bars.
"You don't remember?" he asks sad and lowers his head and forces a smile. "it's okay I can just make you remember," he said with a now wicked smile on his face as he holds up a sword. A wave of panic washes over me and I scramble to the back of the cell tugging at the chain at the wall and scream like a mad woman. With a mighty swing of his sword, he cuts away the door and walks in raising the blade once again. Tears down streaming down my face, fear engulfing me and the belief I was going to die. I clamp my eyes tightly as he starts to swing the sword down, I bring my head down and cover it with my arms and continue to scream. There was a sound of slashing metal but no death or pain. I slowly open my eyes and begin to lift my head to look at the faced man, I see him smiling softly holding up my collar "all free" he chirps and drops the collar.
My breath was heavy as I feel my neck for the collar patting gently and slowly begin to smile in my tears in relief. "T-thank you…" I whisper placing my hands on the cold floor and cry a little bit more.
"That's okay Marcy but maybe we should get going Joker will be here soon thanks to your noise" he whispers to me as he kneels in front of me. I feel a vein pump on my forehead in anger.
My noise!? the reason I made a noise was because of your terrifying actions!
I thought to myself punching the floor.
I calm down, remembering something about this man, he had done something terrifying to me before…. "You left me in a bush!" I yell pointing a finger at him. A wide childish smile spreads across his face and he begins to cheer that I remembered. I growl and stand and pull a fist back ready to hit him in the face.
"Come on Marcy!" he cheers snatching up my free hand and yanks me out of the cell and we begin to run. We run straight past cells and over cascaded toys, ignoring cries, shadows and the yells of Joker to stops. We run as far as we could till we reached the end of the hall, the faced man stops and I bump into his back, pulling back I rub my nose. He looks side to side for an exit and clicks his tongue hearing the warden's heels. He pulls me from behind him to beside him and gives me a hard shove to the side so I begin stumbling down a new hall, "run Marcy" he says with a smile and runs back the way we came.
I stand and look down the hall screaming his name. "ACE!" tears running down my cheeks, from the pain in my head, and from the relief of being able to remember something. He looks over his shoulder at me and smiles caringly, I nod and turn to run down the hall he shoved me in. "Nightmare!" I scream as I run hoping the sick demon would somehow try and help if he could hear me. "Nightmare please help me…" I whisper slowly down as I was losing breath, "I'm sorry for breaking a rule, help me..." I say softly falling to my knees. I continue to whisper I'm sorry while curling my hands into fists and crying softly, my shoulders bobbing up and down as I breathe heavily.
A pair of large hands then contact with my shoulders gripping them tightly, they push me back slightly and I jump and gasp in shock. "Marceline!" Gray sighs in relief looking at me with relief in his lizard-like eyes.
"Gray" I say with my bottom lip wobbling ready to cry again. I throw myself into his chest relieved in was him who found me. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm so, so sorry!" I yell at him facing up at him. He smiles softly and strokes my hair.
"It's okay Marcy, let's just go back to the Clover Tower" he whispered softly and forced my face back into his chest. At that time, I felt a strong gust of wind whirl round just like the one that took me to the prison, when the wind stopped Gray released me and stood. I opened my eyes and looked around and saw I was back in Nightmare's office, there sitting at the large desk was Nightmare coughing into his handkerchief with a blanket round his shoulders.
"Good work Gray" he said between his coughs and smiled with blood dribbling from his mouth.
I stand up quick and dash to Nightmare and kneel beside him, "are you okay?" I ask snatching the hankie out of his hand and began cleaning him up. He nodded at me but did not verbally, this made me more worried. "I'm sorry for breaking a rule and for making you too worried, I promise not to do it again okay" I apologized with my head down like a scolded child. Nightmare gently stroked my head and leaned down and kiss my forehead making my cheeks go rosy. "I'm going to shower I'll be back soon okay" I say standing slowly and walk out of the room, I walk in silence back to my room at the Clover Tower. Entering my room, I shut the door and walk into my bathroom and turn the shower on allowing it to heat, while it does I look in the mirror and snicker at my appearance. Red puffy eyes, a red nose from all my crying and messy hair, I was a mess. I take a deep breath in and out then sit on the toilet repeating my breath exercises.
"Joker was different this time…" I say to myself thinking about my prison experience. "I was so scared of Joker because of my childhood experience, but he was different this time. Black was somewhat kind though I don't think White has changed" I giggle taking my hair out of my ponytail and hold the hair tie White gave me. "I don't think I'm as scared of them anymore, though I think they might be mad at me for running" I sigh placing the hair tie on the sink and move to the door and shut it, then begin to strip for the shower.
