Hey guys! I'm back. I have finally returned to this story after being away with a serious case of writer's block. I'm not going to make any false promises that I will update soon, but I will update when I can. With college around the corner, updates are going to be scarce most likely. Please do enjoy this next chapter - OceanBlueSeaEyes

Percy's POV

Bag? Check. Pearls from Dad? Check. Letters from family for every day? Check. I decided I was finally going to visit my birth mom all the way in Guam. I needed to know why she gave me up. Why she never wrote to me. I never once heard from her. If I had, I probably wouldn't be as mad at Dad if I had known. The sand suddenly shifted beside me as someone sat down.

"Running off from family?" the voice joked

Haylea! I gritted my teeth at the question.

"Not funny." I snarled.

Haylea held up her hands in surrender, "Sorry?"

Hayley looked out across the ocean, "So what are we waiting for? Dolphins pulling a giant seashell carriage?"

I scoffed at that remark, "You know nothing about the sea life."

I stood up as I saw my hippocampus come closer, "Fi! Over here!"

Hayley looked shocked at the sight in front of her. No words came out just stuttered gasps.

I looked back over my shoulder, "Have a fun summer Haylea...Oh and be careful for Capture the Flag. Wouldn't want you put out as bait."

Haylea's POV

I sat there in shock as I watched my brother ride away on his...what did he call it? Hip..hippo...hippo-tamus...no that's not right. Um hippocampy? Maybe that. Anyways he just told me he wouldn't want me as bait with that stupid smirk of his as if he knew what was going to happen. It chilled me to my bones. I stood up and brushed off the sand as the conch shell sounded signaling lunch. I jogged over to the Poseidon table and got my lunch. I burnt half my brisket as an offering to Poseidon before digging in. The food was amazing. Mom's was better though. As I was halfway through, I heard footsteps behind me and someone sit down. Annabeth Chase. She looked me up and down before she said anything.

"How would you like to be on my team for Capture the Flag?" she asked.

I was shocked. Daughter of Athena asking the Daughter of Poseidon to be on her team! I mean dont get me wrong, I would love to, but doesn't Poseidon and Athena have this rivalry going on.

"Yes, but that doesn't mean it has to go on to their kids," Annabeth said.

Oops, did I just voice my thoughts out loud?

"Yes you did," she said again.

Shut up, shut up, shut up!

I took a breath and looked at Annabeth calmly.

"I would love to be on your team," I smiled.

"Great! We'll find you a helmet tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your day," she said as she went back to her table.

I just shrugged and continued me lunch.

Annabeth's POV

I slid into my seat next to Malcolm, "Bait is set in place."

He looked up at me in between bites, "She joined?"

I nodded and stole some of his green beans.

Percy had come up to me yesterday and told me he was going to find his birth mom. I didn't understand right away why he told me, but he explained two things. One, he had a few things to figure out. Two, he had some ideas on how to help with Capture the Flag since he wasn't going to be there. I shared the second part with my cabin and they all agreed. Today, that plan was set in motion and now that she has agreed...we are surely going to win.
