"Roar. Roar as loud as you can, but if no one can hear you, whats the point?"
Kuroko showed up to school the next day and noticed the gift sticking out of his desk. Just as he placed it on the wooden table, Kagami entered the classroom with obvious bags under his eyes. When Kuroko looked his way, the only thing Taiga could do was turn away.
Kuroko unwrapped the rectangle shaped gift gently and saw two tickets. Just as he was about to place the tickets in his desk, a card fell out. He picked it up and began to read:
"Dear Kurokocchi~,
On this day we met and it was life changing 3
Is this what they call fate? Anyway my love, as a token of our deep relationship I took the liberty of buying us tickets to Hawaii. Isn't it just great!?~
Kurokocchi, I really do just want to do something nice for you. I know at points we have our differences, but none of that changes my love for you. Out of any person on this earth, it is you I love the most. Thinking about it, chances are I'll get rejected by you...but I'll never stop showing my love to you. Yes, even after the day I die I'll watch over you. Ironic isn't it? Here I always thought you were my saving grace and angel. Anyway, I'll give you some time. See you soon, okay?
~Lots of love K.R 3"
Kuroko put the card in his desk and pulled out his text books. This was just like Kise he thought. One year it was a giant size shake, the next it was a brand new library. Kise always knew what to get him, he was always thoughtful, even if he was a baby at points. Although, Kuroko secretly liked those moments with him. Kuroko was always the type to care and nurture for someone, and Kise was the one that satisfied that part of him.
Homeroom started and the red head in front him turned around. "Kuroko...Can I u-ummm.,.."
"Kagami-kun, if you have nothing to say the I'd rather not be bothered." Kuroko quickly replied.
"Oh..r-right, I just w-wanted to know if I could borrow a pencil...maybe" Kagami was already as red as his hair and his constant stuttering was piercing Kuroko's ears like a blade. Kuroko passed Kagami a newly sharpened pencil and continued to do his work. The phantom sighed as he saw a a number of pencils in the tigers den. Wasn't confrontation apart of a man's duty?
At practice, everyone could tell the balance of their rookie duo was off like an elephant trying to stand on a small ball. Their coach Riko, was the most concerned. "Hey Hyuuga, don't you think we should help them settle this?" She asked without really wanting an answer. "What? How can we fix a problem we know nothing about," he was obviously tired from practice and already annoyed. Riko, still puzzled, grabbed the two. "Alright boys, time for some special training!~ Freshman against their upperclassmen!" Riko smiled as she pointed to her classmates behind her.
Just then the gym doors opened and a certain golden model appeared, but surprisingly he wasn't his loud self. Instead, he gave a slight grin and pointed out the door with his beautifully manicured thumb. Everyone could tell that Kagami was going to explode just by looking at his eyes. "Could I leave practice early coach?" Kuroko asked. Kuroko was always at practice on time, even if he was sick, so this was extremely strange not only to Riko but to Kagami as well.
"Uh, y-yeah," Riko said in astonishment with eyes blank like a goldfish.
As the doors closed, everyone slowly began to face Taiga. His head hung low, as if the life had been sucked away from him. "H-hey Kagami are you okay?" asked the usually happy Koga asked. Even the silent Mitobe reached out by putting his hand on his back, but sadly, it only takes a spark to start a wildfire.
Just like that Kagami's yell filled not only the gym, but the hearts of his teammates as well.
"Why?WHY?" Kagami yelled.
"Why what Taiga," Riko leaned in trying to comfort the rookie.
"I always seem to mess things up...I'm always over thinking things to the point where I imagine things. I couldn't trust him! I couldn't trust my teammate! I COULDN'T TRUST KUROKOOOO!" The tiger roared.
"What are you talking about Taiga?" The handsome Izuki asked. Kagami just shook his head. He couldn't betray Kuroko again. Kagami left to the bathroom to wash up. He knew he couldn't face his teammates and their questions. Didn't they say that good intentions paved the way to hell? He didn't want them to suspect anything. He decided to ditch practice. He knew the coach would be furious and probably force him to run extra laps, but that didn't matter at the moment. He grabbed his things and left.
Even if he had left a mandatory basketball practice early, he somehow ended up at the basketball court playing by himself. Usually basketball cleared his mind, but he couldn't focus at all. He missed almost every shot. Just as he was leaving he spotted a stray cat and his Kuroko, though he knew he had no right to call him that. He should walk away, sneaking up on them was wrong. Whatever a couple was doing together should be private, but we're they even couple? Could he really believe Kise? Well, Kuroko didn't deny it. Kagami decided that he should just give up on Kuroko and stop pestering him. Even though his mind had convinced himself of that, his heart kept him glued to the back of Kuroko's head, ears wide open.
