Kat's P.O.V

I had awoken a few hours later to the faces of my sister and brother, both asking if I was okay. I told them I was fine. I just said it was from the fact that I was tired and I hadn't eaten a thing this morning. Hours later I was sitting in front of the fire listening to something Jon was talking about. Henderson and burns came up holding canopic jaws. My lifted my eyebrow. 'Where on Earth did they get those?' "Say O'Connell, what do you think these babies will fetch back home?" Henderson asked. "We heard you guys found yourself a nice gooey mummy." Burns stated. "You know if you dry that fellow out you might be able to sell him for firewood." Daniels added. I set my jaw. "You know, unlike some people, we would never disrespect someone's remains by selling it." I snapped at them. Henderson glared at me.

Evie, then came over. "That's my sister's seat." I said to Beni. "Now." Rick said and Beni moved over. Evie came over and said, "Scarab skeletons! Flesh eaters. I found them inside our friend's coffin. They can stay alive for years feasting on the flesh of a corpse." Evie explained. My nose wrinkled. Rick and Jon picked up a skeleton. "Unfortunately, for our friend, he was still alive when they started eating them." Evie said. Yet again, I felt another pain to my heart, so I rubbed my chest. "So someone threw these things in with our guy, and they slowly ate him alive?" Rick asked. "Very slowly." Evie replied. "Well he certainly wasn't a popular fellow when they planted him, was he?" Jon said. "Yeah. Probably got a little too frisky with the Pharaoh's daughter." Rick joked. I twitched, annoyed for no reason for all. Evie laughed.

"Well according to my readings, our friend suffered the Hom-Dai. The worst of all Ancient Egyptian curses. One reserved for the most evil of blasphemers. In all of my research, I've never heard of the curse actually being preformed." Evie said. My heart was zinged when she said he suffered the Hom-Dai. "That bad, huh?" Rick asked. "They never used it because they feared it so. It's said if a victim of the Hom-Dai, were to ever arise, he would carry with him the ten plagues of Egypt." I stated staring into the fire. Evie looked at me with surprise. She didn't know that I knew some of the things I did.

Later that night, I sitting up waiting for Evie. She had woken me up not even 10 minutes ago. She had said she wanted to show me something. Finally she comes over with a book. "Oh my god! Is that? Wow!" I exclaim once I get better look at the book. It was the Book of the Dead. "Yes! I know, Kat. Happy early birthday." Evie said as she patted my head. "Actually it is my birthday now. It's past midnight." I corrected. Evie rolled her eyes. "You know that's called stealing you know." Rick said as he cracked an eye open. I snort. "Well to you and our brother it's called 'borrowing.'" I retorted. Evie passes me the book and gets the key from Jonathan's pocket. I put the book on the near-by chair.

"I thought the Book of Amun-Ra was made out of gold. "It is made of gold. This isn't the book of Amun-Ra. This is something else." Evie said as she opened the Key. "We think it's the Book of the Dead." I cut in, excitedly. Rick looked at Evie and I. "The Book of the Dead?" He asked in disbelief. "Are you sure you want to be playing around with this thing?" Rick asked cautiously. I shrug, but Evie answers. "It's just a book. No harm ever came from reading a book." She placed the Key down and opened the Book. I felt shivers run down my spine. When she opened the Book, a howling wind came through. "Masika." I heard again. I looked around again. No one else was awake, except for Evie, Rick and I. "That happens a lot around here." Rick commented. "So what's it say?" Rick asks. "Amun-Ra. Amun-Dei. It speaks of the night and of the day." Evie translated. Then she started to read the inscription in Ancient Egyptian, and I heard a roar from somewhere below.

Dr. Chamberlain then shouts, "NO! YOU MUST NOT READ FROM THE BOOK!" Then the wind start back up. Jon wakes up, and we look towards the entrance and see hundreds, if not thousands, of locusts. We all start running towards the entrances to the underground catacombs. Rick was in the lead with a torch, Evie and I were in the middle, and Jon was bringing up the rear. The hall started to shake, and a sand mound started to pile up. The scarabs came bursting from the sand mound, almost like lava would from a volcano. "Scarabs!" Evie exclaimed as we ran in the other direction. "GO! GO! RUN!" Rick commanded. Then he threw the torch, and tried to shoot the scarabs with his shot-gun.

Evie and I jumped one way, Jonathan and Rick the other way. We were leaning against a little alcove, waiting for the bugs to leave. As they were passing I leaned back, sighing in relief. Until a trap door activated sending me backwards, but not before I managed to grab Evie and bringing her with me. The trap door sealed.

When we finally come out from the trap door we were in this very dark chamber. I landed on the wall, and Evie landed on me. Some of the ceiling was gone, letting in the moonlight. "Ow." I groaned. "Oops! Sorry!" Evie whispers to me. I just wave her off. "It's fine... Just, where the hell are we?" I asked. She bopped me on the back of my head. "Language." She scolded. I rolled my eyes.

We start hearing moaning and Evie looks around the corner. "Oh, Mr. Burns. Oh goodness. We were just starting to get scared." Evie said as she walked towards Burns. I was staying near where we came out. I had a bad feeling about this. "Kat and I have lost everyone." Evie said, before he turned around, and revealed the fact he didn't have a tongue, nor did he have eyes. He groaned. Evie and I screamed. "Oh my god!" I said. Evie went to run in the opposite direction, before the mummy, the juicy one we had found, came out of the shadows. The mummy growled at Evie. I was still hidden, frozen with terror. The thing backed Evie against the wall.

"Please help me." She looked towards Burns and then me. That snapped me out of being frozen. The thing looked back to Burns. "My tongue. H-He took my tongue." Burns mumbled distorted. I ducked back around the wall before he saw me. "Please don't leave me." Evie begged. The mummy turned back towards Evie. "Anck-su-namun?" The thing growled. I knew I had to act soon. "GET AWAY FROM HER, DEATH BREATH!" I screamed as I ran toward him and Evie. I had somehow managed to jumped on the thing's back. It grabbed my hair and threw me over his shoulder with unnatural strength.

"OOF!" Is the sound I made when I landed on my back. The mummy froze once he saw my face."Masika?" It asked. This gave me enough time to shuffle backwards to Evie, who helped me stand up. Evie and I were holding on to each others forearms, against the wall. "Come with me, my Princess Masika." The mummy said in Ancient Egyptian. He held his hand out to me. I gulped, and Evie held me closer.

Rick then came in. "There you guys are! Will you quite playing hide-and-seek? Come on! Let's get out of here!" He said as ran in. Rick saw what had made us both frozen and he yelped in surprise. The mummy growled. "EVIE! KAT!" Jonathan yelled, then ran in. Jon skidded to a stop and dropped his torch. The Americans stopped behind Jon as well. The mummy then turned back to us and let out an all mighty roar. I shuddered. Rick let out a mix between growling and yelling, before shooting the mummy.

"Move!" Rick shouted and then shoved Evie and I to make us start running. Jonathan and the Americans came up behind us. We all ran outside and stopped as we were held at gunpoint by the men who attacked us the other night. The man in charge took off his mask and stood forward. Dr. Chamberlain were with them, holding the Book of the Dead. "I told you to leave or die. You refused. Now you may have killed us all, for you have released the creäture we have feared for more than 3000 years." He remarked dryly. "Relax. I got him." Rick said. "No mortal weapon can kill this creäture. He's not of this world." The guy snapped. Then he stepped back as two more guys in black brought in Burns. He was moaning.

"You bastards!" Daniels said "What the hell did you do to him?!" Henderson nearly growled. "We saved him. We saved him before the creäture could finish his work. Leave, all of you, before he finishes you all. Yallah! Nimshi!" The guy ordered. "I must now go on the hunt, and try to find a way to kill this him." The guy said as he and the others went to walk by us. "I already told you. I got him." Rick told the guy again. The guy stopped and snapped. "Know this, this creäture is the bringer of death. He will never eat, he will never sleep, and he will never stop."

Imhotep's P.O.V

I just watched as Masika ran out of the chamber, taking Anck-su-namun with her. At least it could have been Anck-su-namun. It could have been Nefertiri. That would be the reason she tried to attack me. She was still so young. She had looked as she was when she was 15. I would recognize her at any age. She still had that wild hair of hers, and those eyes that switched between pale green, light blue and grey. I had watched her since she had discovered my sarcophagus. But she had not recognized me. Masika's eyes only held fear. I know she still had some of her memories, but a majority were missing. I vowed that she would one day have her memories and would be by my side again.

I watched as a weasely man came into the chamber that once held the canopic jars and the Book of the Dead. I growled and appeared behind him. As soon as he saw me, he screamed and dropped his torch. I studied him as he took out certain charms and started speaking in different tongues. I had backed him against the statue of Anubis, before he started to speak in a familiar language. "The language of the slaves... I may have use for you. And the reward will be great." I said holding a rotten hand full of golf rings. "Oh, my prince." The weasely said. I held up one of the broken canopic jars that was left behind. "Where are the other sacred jars?!"

I was watching as Masika left with the man who took her (and shot me with that strange weapon), the other man (whom I believe is Ramses reincarnated), (I was right to assume it might have been Nefertiri) and Nefertiri. As well as the four cursed men who opened the chest.
