Alternate Ending or Adding on to 'Her Regret': Trust:Her Song
The now 10-year-old hero dashed through Castle Town, which was now filled with living Hylians instead of the lurking ReDeads. Link spotted his targets in desperation.
"Z-Zelda! Impa! Wait please!" He called for the two.
The young princess turned to face the calling voice, while her bodyguard quickly stood between the boy and girl.
"Boy, what purpose do you seek with the princess?" Impa's voice came cold to the Hero's ears, and his heart gave a sudden lurch.
"I-Impa… no one remembers me! Malon treats me as a stranger, the Kokiri still believe that I don't know the truth of me being a Hylian,I can't find Saria anywhere ,and Navi's gone!"
Link wailed, stepping forward to attempt to hug the princess and the warrior; however, the Sheikah took to defense and pushed Zelda a little back, out of the reach of the yearning Hero.
"You speak as if we know each other? Who are you, Boy?" The warrior spat.
"It's Link- you don't remember me either…?"
A silence carried out, neither saying anything.
"S-sorry, I must be mistaken… sorry for wasting your time." His tone was defeated and he slowly walked away from the two. His head hung low, while his arms were limp by his sides'.
The two waited until the Hero was out of hearing. The princess let out a small cry for the mourning boy.
"Your Highness, was that truly for the best?" Impa spoke.
"Y-yes, besides something else awaits for him," Zelda gave a soft smile, "now come along Impa, let us retreat to the Royal Archives."
The hero wrapped his arms around his trembling legs, as tears ran down his doughy cheeks. He wept for his lost friends, he trembled for the loss of his companions' warmth. His mind lost to the memories until a soothing melody danced in the air.
A sound of a lyre filled his pleased ears, and the Hero immediately searched around him for the familiar sound.
The Minute of the Forest, soon followed by the Serenade of Water, then Bolero of Fire, and finally a lullaby rung off the lyre's strings.
Link's heart sped up with each passing song, the desperation of it being true, filled him with longing. He followed the lullaby to a tree. The music soon stopped abruptly and a giggle replaced it.
In the swaying leaves, sat a girl. Her skin a lovely sun-kiss tone, and her dirty blonde hair was now loosely flowing in the wind. Her bang wasn't covering her radiant red eye but neatly pushed behind an ear, showing that the red-tear-drop-tattoo was no longer there. The once blue suit she wore was now only a white shirt with the Sheikah emblem piercing his gaze and black shorts.
The girl let out another small giggle, she let her hand teasingly play a few notes.
"Care to join me, Link?" she smiled.
