Author's Note: Alright, I am still trying to power through my writer's block, so please deal with me while I am going through this. It can be rather hard to write for so many stories at once, but it is simply what the people want, and I can never say no without a good reason. Also, this is going to be a short chapter so I can transition to the Demon Island Arc easier in the next chapter.
Guisniperman: Never thought of it before, but Perish Song and Murder Magic can be seen as similar magic. Only, replace murder with knock out.
Talkingbirdguy: Mew would never curse a friend for simply touching her tail. Letting them get beaten to a bloody pulp, yes. But… if an enemy was to touch her tail…
Multipule-Characters1-Acct: Fairy Tail… well… Imagine if Luffy and Naruto ran the place and you wouldn't be too far off from the general idea.
Chapter 6: New Mission.
'Hm…' Mew looked over the guild, making sure her magic had affected everyone after yesterday. 'I see no signs of fear, nervousness, or respect. So… It worked,' She thought happily to herself as she set herself back down on the table to relax.
The day after the humans finally got back after the battle, a group of the Council's Knights and a messenger had tried to arrest Erza so that they could rope the blame onto her from the mission. It seems that something they had done during their mission that had forced the Council into action.
Mew wasn't sure if it was the mass panic that was caused when Erza announced Lullaby's powers to the town, the destruction of nearly every door in the Train Station, the destruction of the Guild Masters' Retreat, or if they simply didn't like Fairy Tail.
Either way, none of that really mattered to Mew. No, what mattered to her was that these knights were attempting to imprison one of HER friends!
So, blah blah, fire, blah blah, destruction of the Captial, blah blah, big misunderstanding. After finding out that it was a big misunderstanding that Erza's trial was a show and she was going to be let out the very next day, Mew stop caring and…kinda rewrote everything.
She repaired all the damage caused, healed the knights and the Councilmen, and replaced everyone's memories of what had occurred. So now, everyone believed Erza to have been arrested like planned before Natsu in drag came to rescue her… Yeah, she still wasn't over getting her tailed pulled.
So now, everyone was none the wiser of what had happened and the Council won't be trying to hunt her down due to her powers. Everyone wins.
'Everything is right with the world,' Mew idly thought as she sat next to Happy as Natsu was sent across the room after challenging Erza to a fight. 'Yep, nothing has changed.'
"You're so lame Natsu" Gray mocked the flying Dragon Slayer, laughing as Natsu went through the wall.
"Erza's strong indeed!" Elfman laughed as the hole in the wall, and soon many of the others were laughing as well at Natsu being so easily put down.
'Poor little Natsu,' Mew thought in amusement as Natsu tried to climb out of the hole in the wall. 'It's like watching lil' Ashie fight against his rivals. He will never win till…the…end?' Her thoughts began to trail off as she suddenly grew tired at an alarming rate. 'Sleep…magic…' She managed to think in her tired state.
Using the last of her focus, she forced herself into Vital Spirit to shake off the magic. As the Sleep Magic died away from her, she was able to look around the room in surprise. Nearly every member of the Guild was asleep, except for her, the Master, and a man dressed in an odd robe that wasn't here before.
"Mystogan," Makarov spoke to the robe man as he approached the counter, but he was ignored as the man walked toward the bulletin board. After a brief moment, Mystogan pulled one of the job request and walked back to the Mater.
"I'm leaving," Mystogan said simply as he handed over the job.
"Hey!" Makarov shouted to Mystogan as he attempted to leave. "Release your sleep magic!"
Mystogan simply turned around and began to count down as he walked from the guild, but he paused for a moment when he saw that Mew was not affected by his Sleep Magic. When his dark eyes met Mew's bright eyes, he had an odd feeling of hope that he couldn't explain, but he shrugged it off as he continued his course.
Once his countdown finished, he was out the door before vanishing into the wind.
With Mystogan was gone, everyone was suddenly awake with the exception of Natsu… for no Mew apparent reason.
The guild was now back to it alive state as the guild members began talking about Mystogan.
"Mystogan?" Lucy asked as she looked around at all of the chatting members.
"He's one of the strongest mage candidates in Fairy Tail," Loke supplied the answer, but he quickly realized who he was talking to and back away quickly. Before it could be questioned about his odd behavior, Gray chimed in.
"For some reason, he hates to be seen," Gray explained. "So whenever he comes to pick a job, he puts everyone to sleep." He said, annoyance seeping into his voice as being rendered unconscious so easily time and time again.
"What the?" Lucy asked in disbelief. "That sounds so fishy!"
"That's why only master knows Mystogan's face." Gray finished.
"He has nice eyes," Mew idly added in, causing Lucy and Gray to look at her. "What? I know more about sleep then either of you do, so I know how to not do it too." She defended herself and her lifestyle.
"Hm, looks like three know what he looks like now," A voice spoke out from above; it had a mixture of amusement and superiority in it. Everyone turned to look at the voice, even Natsu woke up as he heard it.
Cries of "Luxus" could be heard throughout the guild as everyone looked at the tall, blond figure dressed in a cape.
"He's also one of the strongest mage candidates," Gray said to Mew and Lucy as they looked at him.
"Mystogan is really shy," Luxus continued to speak in his arrogant tone. "Don't question it too much."
"Luxus!" The now awake Natsu shouted out. "Fight me!"
"You were just defeated by Erza," A guild member reminded Natsu of the events not even five minutes ago.
"He's right," Luxus smirked at Natsu like he said something cute. "If you can't even win against Erza, you won't stand a chance against me." He stated, ignore the deadly aura now coming from Erza at the comment. "I mean, I'm the strongest."
"Gray," Mew spoke up in a quiet voice so only her friend could hear her. Gray turned his head slightly to acknowledge hearing it, but not taking his eyes from Luxus. "What magic does he use?"
"He uses lighting magic, he can move real-" He never finished as Mew now had everything she needed from the first four words. Before Natsu could charge up and try to attack Luxus, Mew spoke out.
"Why is it the weaklings who always love to talk?" Mew asked a little too loudly, causing everyone's head to snap at her. "I mean, since I have been here, it has been one weakling after another who keep talking about how strong they are when their magic is pathetic."
"Oh, pathetic?" Luxus growled with a nasty smirk on his face. "Well, I suppose I should show this newbie its place." He said, putting everyone edge, and rightfully so as lightning suddenly struck Mew from nowhere!
"Luxus/Mew!" Many guild members shouted as Luxus laughed at his own powers, but the laughter came to a sudden halt.
"Was that it?" Mew asked, still in her spot, but not a single mark on her to show that she was just struck by lightning. "What is the world coming to when that is considered strong?" She sighed, ignoring the gob smacked look on everyone's face.
Luxus quickly recovered and sneered at Mew, while his mind was trying to think how the cat was perfectly fine! The attack wasn't meant to harm her too badly, but she should still have some burns!
"Well then," Luxus said in an icy tone, sparks beginning to build up around him. "Why don't I just show you why I am the Strongest!"
"No, you were the strongest," Mew's voice suddenly came from behind Luxus, causing him to spin around as she sat there, with her tail shifting back and forth. Hey eyes looked over Luxus and found that with his magic and powers, he was the second strongest human in the building, but still nothing to her. "You will find, your electrical attacks will have no effect on me." She spoke calmly before vanishing and reappearing down stairs again.
"Think of me as… a Lightning Rod," Mew said, suppressing a giggle at the hidden pun. "You can keep firing your little magic bolts at me, but you can never really hurt me." She smirked at the anger that grew on Luxus' face. She so enjoyed putting people in their place.
Finally having enough of her, Luxus simply turned away from the second floor railing and walked away so he would no longer need to see her.
"That was fun," Mew giggled, still ignoring the stares she was being given. "It has been so long since I have found someone so easily to rile up since Entei."
