Its been so long! _ No intro! Getting right into it! Enjoy! I do not own Glee.
"I spy with my little eye something... Round."
Santana quirked a brow, eyes never leaving the path in front of her.
"A rock." Brittany huffed and nodded, shoulders slumping as she kicked the object of her last 'spy' roughly, sending it barreling into the brush.
"Yes...You're really good at this game, San! Okay, okay. Your turn."
Santana chuckled, taking a moment to appreciate the scene that was Brittany pouting before surveying her surroundings, searching for something that was not a tree, a stick or the sky. Needless to say, there wasn't too much to choose from. After a moment, mocha hues settled upon a small blackberry bush. Good enough.
"Alright. But this is the last one, Brit. I mean, there isn't very much material to work with here and we've been at this for at least an hour." Brittany nodded her consent. Satisfied, the mocha eyed girl continued. "Okay. I spy with my little eye something black."
She glanced over at her companion, smirking at the expression of utter focus plastered upon her features while she scanned her environment. Suddenly, the blonde stopped moving altogether and gasped, her robin's egg eyes widening considerably.
"A bunny." Santana laughed, shaking her head.
"Nope, that-" Brittany hissed, clapping a palm rather firmly over the Latina's still moving lips. Um... Ow!
"Nooo, San! Look!" She pointed out into the thick brush, her hand trembling with excitement. Santana peered in that direction, squinting against the small rays of verdigris light that broke through the canopy above them. After a few moments, she saw the object of the blonde's fascination. A small rabbit was crouched near the base of an oak, keeping so immaculately still that Santana was surprised her companion had spotted it. She attempted to whisper a praise at Brittany when she realized that she was still being silenced by her hand. She raised her own, peeling the appendage from her lips.
"Nice eye, Brit. Maybe-" Brittany shot her an uncharacteristically exasperated glance, pressing her index finger against her mouth. Then, shifting her attention back to the furry newcomer, she began to creep forward without a sound. Santana merely watched, head cocked, as the taller girl inched closer and closer to the animal; who remained stock still.
This went on for what seemed to be at least five minutes, Brit putting less and less distance between herself and the bunny. She had closed the gap to less than two feet when the rabbit decided that she was much too close. It twitched, sat up, then darted backward into the foliage. To Santana's surprise and dismay, Brittany did not give up chase. She sprinted off into the thick woods, shouting over her shoulder for Santana to follow suit.
Ugh... This girl is going to be the death of me. Or at least the reason I get some nasty poison ivy. She heaved a sigh, rolled her eyes, and began to jog after her.
It took nearly ten minutes for Santana to fully catch up with Brittany, who had been relentlessly attempting to catch the poor, frightened creature. Finally, it seemed, the rabbit had managed to give her the slip.
"I was so close!" Brittany lamented, her lower lip protruding ever so slightly. "I just wanted to make him my pet! He would have been Sir Hops-A-Lot. L. Tubbs would have LOVED him! He's always wanted a poker partner for when I'm not around..." Santana managed to suppress her chuckle as she patted her friend's back.
"You win some you lose some, Brit. Besides, what if it had been rabid? What if it had bitten Lord Tubbington? If you think its hard to keep him from smoking NOW..." She trailed off, allowing the statement to sink in.
"Ooh, you're right!" Brit replied after a moment in a somber tone. "He would go up to a pack a day!"
Santana grinned, allowing her hand to slip across shoulder blades, down the back of her arm and into the plush flesh of her palm, intertwining their fingers. She squeezed softly, earning a cheerful grin.
"Alright. Lets get back to the trail. Its probably almost lunch time so we need to start heading to... Camp..." Santana trailed off, a frown turning her lips.
The trail was nowhere to be seen. The woods were incredibly dense and in her hurry to catch up with the vivacious blonde, Santana hadn't paid any attention to the direction she was going; nor had she cataloged any noticeable landmarks to use in relocating the path.
Cold panic rose and flooded her chest as her eyes darted about, searching for any clue as to what direction they had come from; or even which way the campsite was. She found none. Brittany had noticed the Latina's immediate mood change and was staring at her rapidly paling face, concern brimming in her eyes.
"San...? What's wrong?"
"The trail. It's gone. The trails GONE, Brit!" Adrenaline coursed through her veins as she turned in the direction she assumed she had just come from and started sprinting through the foliage, unintentionally dragging Brittany along by her hand. She ran for a few minutes, frantically searching for a sign of a break in the trees. She found nothing. Still she pressed on, nearly certain that if she continued in that direction she would find the path.
Minutes passed. Then an hour. Then two. The trail was nowhere to be found. At that point, both girls were on the verge of losing it.
"What are we gonna do, San? This is all my fault!" The dam behind Brittany's eyes burst and tears began to drench her cheeks. She fell to the earthy ground, sobs wracking her frame, and drew her knees to her chest. Santana kneeled and swept her into an embrace; both to comfort her friend as well as to shield her own face as a few frightened tears leaked from her lids.
"Shhh, shhh. It'll be alright, Brit. They'll be looking for us! We've only been out here for what?- Three, four hours? There can't be THAT much woods to look in. I'm sure they'll find us by dinner." Though she was unsure of her words, the effect they had on Brittany was positive. The blonde's wails began to quiet, and after a few minutes had reduced to mere sniffles and light hiccups. Santana had managed to pull herself together as well and was focusing on comforting her companion. She dropped into a sitting position against a nearby tree and pulled the weeping blonde into her lap.
"We'll just wait here a while. Jeff will be screaming our names on his god-damned megaphone before we know it. Hell," Santana forced a chuckle, her knuckles drying the tears that painted Brittany's cheeks. "That'll be the first and last time I'll be glad to hear his voice." Brittany giggled softly, arms curling around Santana's neck as she buried her face in her hair. The shorter girl sighed, redirecting her gaze back out into the thick forest surrounding her. "It won't be long."
She was wrong. Hours passed with no sign, auditory or otherwise, of any human life. The sun was getting dangerously low in the sky; Santana guessed that it was about seven o'clock by its position, which filled her with dismay.
They've GOT to be looking for us! How much woods is there to search though?! If they don't find us by dark...
She couldn't finish the thought. It would be cold. The scant amount of clothing they had chosen to wear for a mid-day nature hike would not do much to keep them some form of shelter, especially if it were to storm, they might freeze.
"Brit... Brittany?" The Latina looked down at the blonde who was peacefully dozing on her chest. It pained her to wake her, but it needed to be done. She nudged her firmly until her eyes fluttered open and she was sleepily regarded. "We need to look for a place to sleep tonight. Just in case!" she added quickly as fear bloomed fresh in azure irises. The blonde nodded as she rose to her feet. Santana followed suit, stretching tension from her neck and back before beginning to move through the trees again.
They walked for nearly another hour. The Latina was on the verge of giving up hope of finding something to use when Brittany let out a jubilant squeal and pointed into the trees ahead of her.
"Look, San! A cabin!" The Latina's eyes widened as her gaze snapped to the direction Brittany was gesturing in. Sure enough, an old, dilapidated structure stood in a small clearing. Upon it, a weather worn sign that read, "Elk Cabin". Santana's heart flip flopped as she cried out, wrapping Brittany's torso in her arms and nearly crushing her with a hug.
"Holy fuck, Brit! I'm so glad you're good at I Spy!" The blonde burst into gales of laughter as she was released. She grabbed Santana's hand and dashed toward the old building, nearly skipping out of sheer joy.
Well... At least we won't freeze.
The interior of the cabin was, to put it lightly, a wreck. The only thing that wasn't either broken or completely covered in moss was an old metal cot. Although it lacked a mattress, the sight of it was welcome. Santana instructed Brittany to clear as many spider webs and their occupants off of the frame as she could while she stepped outside and gathered a bunch of leaves. She returned with an arm-full, then, when she was sure the cot was free of arachnids, peeled as much moss from the floor and walls as she could as a base for a makeshift mattress. Atop the moss she scattered the leaves. For a couple of teenage girls, she thought it looked pretty damn good. But semi-comfortable place to sleep or not, she was hoping beyond hope that they would be found before nightfall. And it was getting close. The sky had begun to darken into twilight. Brittany grasped the shorter girls arm and nuzzled into her side, light breaths whisping over the flesh of her temple.
"San?"
"Hmm?"
"We're gonna be okay, right? There aren't any... Bears or wolves here?" Santana frowned, shaking her head slowly.
"I don't think we have to worry about any predators, Britt. And, now that we have protection from a storm, if there is one, I think we'll be just fine."
Brittany released a sigh of relief, her lips pressing against the sensitive flesh just below Santana's hairline. This elicited a small pleasurable shiver, so she did it again, and again, effectively distracting the Latina from the tight nervousness that had gathered in her chest. When Brittany spoke again, her tone was soft and alluring.
"Santana? You realize that we're completely alone here...?" Warm, plush lips brushed against the shell of San's ear, and coupled with the blonde's statement, caused a low blush to rise into her cheeks.
Santana nodded. The thought had occurred to her. Teeth replaced lips, nibbling lightly on her lobe. She couldn't suppress the nearly inaudible hum that rose in her throat. Brittany pivoted, pressing herself against her friend's frame, and continued to administer attention to the ear. Santana relaxed into it, her digits slipping downward to cup the perfect globes of Brittany's ass. A purr vibrated her lobe and she tightened her fingers, gripping the cloth covered flesh and urging hips forward to crash against her own. The blonde growled her consent softly, then pulled away from the Latina's ear in favor of her mouth.
The kiss was insistent, urging. Moist heat traced her lips as her tongue pleaded for entrance. Santana gave it immediately, a low hum of satisfaction loosing into their open mouths. Tongues dueled, the intensity rising with each stroke. Santana kneaded the blonde's ass roughly once more before she allowed her hands to slip around and up. Her nails traced the contoured lines of tight abdomen and delved beneath the fabric of her shirt. Further still she ventured, gaining in confidence as Brittany moaned softly against her lips. Just as her fingertips reached the underside of the bra, Brittany pulled away. Santana was about to object, however the look upon her friend's face silenced the words in her chest. It was intense, wanting.
"San..." she breathed, husky and low. "I want you. I want your hands and mouth. I want them..." She jerked her neck toward the newly furnished cot behind her, eyes never leaving mocha hues. "Everywhere."
Wetness pooled immediately between Santana's thighs as she was led to the makeshift bed; for the moment, she completely forgot that they were hopelessly lost in the woods.
GAH! I haven't updated in over a YEAR! Many, many apologies! I am ashamed of myself. _ Well, better late than never, right? =D
