They rose early, Horaces ankle had healed, Halt and Will's cuts had healed and Evalyn's migraines were gone. They began the Journey back. They ran through the forest but it was quiet, to quiet. The path to the village was empty. Then Will realized it. The cremation of Erak's body was at sunset! That was not a long time. By the time they got to the city, the cremation was beginning! Horace ran to slow them down, but he could only buy them a few minutes. The sun had already set when they made it to the castle. But the doors were locked! Will climbed the walls and broke window, he had maybe 2 minutes left. When he got to the room with the mirror someone was in front of the mirror. A thin man was in the way, he pulled out out a dagger.
"I can't let you destroy the mirror." He said.
He ran towards Will. His first strike was only an inch away from Will. He continued to slash wildly, trying to catch Will off guard. Each slash carrying deadly force, he continued to stab, thrust and parry without tiring. Will blocked each strike but knew he couldn't wait any longer. He dashed back and when the man chased he was hit with a striker. He fell to the ground and tried to stop Will.
"No, you don't know what you are doing!" He yelled.
Will stabbed the knife into the mirror. The emerald at the top glowed. Spirits were released into the world.
Some distance away Erak awoke the moment before he was ignited.
"NO, they are free!" He bellowed.
"What is free my king?" Asked the priest.
A moment after he said that the whole world seemed to shake as a pit opened up and a huge voice shook the world.
"WE ARE FREE!"
