Yay! Update by me. I'm starting to write a lot easier now.
She has been called many names. Tinkerbell, Green, Green Fairy. But the one she loved the most was Eva. Because Regina gave it to her. Because with that name she married, even fake, for Regina... The woman she had loved since forever.
Now she felt like Tinkerbell again. Always running after Regina, being there for her and getting nothing in return. Maybe it is selfish but she wanted more of her wife. Was that so much to ask?
The fairy shakes her head and looks at Ryan's form through the shower glass.
"Do you still love me?"
It is desperate and she hates herself for asking.
Regina opens the door and peaks through it. "I do. I love you. I always will."
It may sound sincere but Tink doesn't buy it and spins on her heels, leaving the bedroom and shutting the door behind with loud thud.
"Fuck..." Regina resumes her shower.
Later that night
Emma decides to stay. Even more. She decides to go out on a date with Graham.
She is staying for the kid she repeats herself and for a moment there she actually starts believing herself. That is until that traitorous mind of hers doesn't think of Ryan and his stupid perfect face. Then she catches herself lying for her reason to stay. And she curses. A lot.
That is why she offers Graham to do on a date.
It's not like Emma hasn't been on a date recently but she feels way out of element and nervous for some reason.
Looking up at Graham she notices he is cutie, but then there is Ryan who, fuck, comes in the dinner right in that moment... alone. Why in the fucking world he will come right now? Why the world is against her?
"... and then I stood up and everyone was silent." Graham finishes his story but sees that Emma's eyes are glued on Ryan. His heart skips a beat. He swallows and says, "If you want to get out of here..."
"What?" Emma turns her head to the speaking man. " No. I-It's fine."
"Are you sure?"
"N...Yeah. Sure. I just have this odd feeling about him." She crunches her eyebrows and takes a sip of her vodka.
Ryan sits at the corner just next to the door. His favorite place late at night.
"Well, well. If that's not our mayor." Ruby greets him with a big smile.
Regina lifts her head up slowly and flashes a smile. "You broke my heart, Ruby. I thought I was your favorite customer." She flirts right back.
"You are but only when your wife is not with you." The waitress leans forward on the chair and pushes her breasts up.
"Well, she isn't."
"I knoow." She slows down the last word and winks at the man.
Regina chuckles and licks her lips. The old ways of communication are always part of her.
"Be a darling and bring me Jack with rocks."
"Sure." Ruby spins on her heel and goes to the bar to get the order swaying her hips from side to side.
"Mhmm... Very odd." Emma adds after seeing the flirtation.
"You think he is cheating with Ruby?" Graham asks not believing.
"Could be. I don't think this is appropriate behavior of a married man."
"I'm with you on this one. He always acts like that. Although he looks crazy about Tink when they are together."
"That's why I don't believe him."
"Emma, can we drop the topic, please?"
"Yeah. Sure." She flashes a smile. Fake one. Because damn be the mayor for inhabiting her thoughts all the time. Damn be his hair and his face. Fuck.
"Look... If you are not up to this..."
"No." She cuts quickly. "I am still in shock from the kid finding me. I can't stop thinking about him and his family."
"Emma, let's be honest here. You have the hots for Ryan."
"What?" Her cheeks are burning. "I'm not..." But his raised eyebrows stop her lies. "Okay. Yeah." She admits her blonde locks rocking slightly. "That doesn't mean I don't want to be here."
"I know but it's always good to know the truth, you know." Graham is no fool. He sees the way Emma looks at the mayor.
"There you go, Mister Mayor." Ruby places the drink in front of the man. "I hope it's up to your taste."
"If it's from you always." Regina can't help it. It just comes out. That doesn't mean she doesn't love Tink. But here is Emma with Graham and Regina doesn't know why she feels a sting in her heart but she does and it's driving her body crazy. The man's jealously is very powerful and affects the whole body. Or at least that's with hers.
The sip burns her throat. And maybe she deserves it. Acting like that... She has beautiful wife and a child. Why she has to look around?
Though she isn't sleeping around. She had slept with Emma eleven years ago. Eleven, her mind screams. Is it possible... Could Henry be hers? Regina runs hand through her hair. What if?
A smile graces her face and she lifts her eyes up focusing them on the blonde. What if that night Henry was conceived? Can she impregnate someone? Her sex is magical induced but is it working as normal? She gets hard easy without troubles and comes always. But what about her semen?
The time fits, she concludes and stands up, her legs carrying her towards the table where Emma is laughing at something that Graham has said.
"I'm utterly sort for interrupting you..." She waits until they both turn to her. "Emma, can I ask you something in private?"
"Anything that you want to ask her you can ask in front of me." Graham stands up like a man. Though in front of the Mayor he feels small.
Regina studies both of them carefully and the Evil Queen in her is itching to ask away. The rational part of her is telling that this is a dream. She has dreamed of having children ever since Daniel. She has dreamed of having her own, not adopted but when Henry came along she had forgotten about it. Now that this opportune has arisen she feels her heart warming at the possibility.
"Is Henry mine?" Her lips voice her thoughts.
Emma's heart stops. Her blood froze. Her palms are sweaty. Where in the world he got the idea? Who planted it in his brain? Did he figured it out on his own?
"We weren't exclusive at that time." Emma replies to protect herself. She doesn't want another reason to want to stay here.
"That doesn't answer my question."
"I'm not obligated to." Emma lifts her head.
"There is no reason to not tell me."
"Listen." She nearly screams at the man as her body stands on its own accord. Taking a step towards Ryan she is pleased to see a little… fear or something like it, in his eyes. He even steps back. "I have no legal obligations to tell you such information from my private life."
She wants to yell more but her treacherous heart actually flitters with joy because of being so close to him. And she does the only thing she knows she is good at.
She runs.
She leaves this place and the man who confuse the hell out of her.
Graham's eyes narrow at Ryan who just rolls his eyes and follows Emma.
The nerve he has, Graham thinks and decides not to get any more involved. It isn't worth it. Emma is clearly not going to be interested in him.
Emma leaves the bar feeling herself on the edge. Where is this coming from? What interest Ryan has in knowing the truth? What it can possible change? Nothing. He is going to stay with his wife and raise Henry? Why torture her?
A strong hand grabs her by the shoulder, making her flinch and jump at her spot.
"Relax. It's me." Ryan whispers behind her ear in a tone that does all the wrong things to her panties.
Like that will calm me down, she thinks before turning around and facing him.
"I'm sorry if I stepped over the line back there."
No, you are not sorry.
"It's just that... Henry does look a lot like me. I... I haven't thought about it really b-before you show up."
Part of Regina knows the truth. That part that took care of Henry, changed his diapers, soothed his fevers. She knows. But her brain is refusing to admit it. It is too good to be true. Almost like fairytale.
Snorting at her thoughts she waited for Emma to say something.
"Why you haven't thought about it?"
"Because… You weren't in the picture." At least that was what she though could satisfy Emma now.
"Would you leave her for me?" Emma has decided not to let him off the hook so easily.
"No."
Of course not, Emma shook her head.
"Then what has changed?" She glared at the man before her. The nerve he has.
"I… I don't know."
"Let me tell you what." She bit her lip before continuing. "You just have these confusing feeling about me since I got here. That's all. It has nothing to do with Henry. It has everything to do with our night ten years ago."
"How do you know it?" Regina raised eyebrow feeling her heart flutter at the truth.
Because I feel the same.
"Would it change anything?" Emma asked mentally cursing the flicked of hope in her voice.
Regina was surprised by the question. What Emma did expect from her? To leave Tink just because they have a child together? She couldn't because she loved Tink. Could she?
"That's what I thought." Emma started to leave but Ryan was quicker and stood in front of her, stopping her.
"Emma, we were together eleven years ago and we created a life. That is not enough reason for me to leave my wife."
"Who said Henry is yours?" Emma shouted.
"Just fucking stop." Regina fired back. "Enough with the games. Henry is my son. Deny it. Now." Her tone was demanding, one that she was accustomed to when she was Queen back in the Enchanted Forest. She won battles with it.
Emma swallowed hard. She did not expect that kind of rage from the man. Apparently she had strike a nerve or maybe even worst – the man's pride.
"Yes." She breathed out and closed her eyes waiting for the next round of welling.
When there was nothing but silence for few minutes she opened her eyes carefully only to be greeted by grinning Ryan.
"That wasn't hard, was it?" He teased her and licked his lips.
Fucking hell, she thought. Ryan and his stupid arrogant smirk.
"You are an ass."
"But what an ass."
What an ass indeed.
"Is that all?"
"Why are you in such hurry to go?"
Shit…
"What are we going to talk about?"
"What were you doing in the past eleven years?"
The question surprised Emma. She had not expected Ryan to ask about her past.
"We are not going to bond now."
"I was simply making a light conversation. Besides we are already bond." He winked at her.
Why he kept reminding her of that.
"Plus I want to ask you for a favor." He added.
Emma raised eyebrow. The nerve he had.
"What?" She almost hissed.
"Henry has this insane idea that I am the Evil King from…"
"His book." Emma interrupted him. "I know all about it. Your point?"
Blinking rapidly Ryan wondered where she knew.
"Who told you?"
"Henry on the way back to this place."
"I... I don't know what's gotten into him."
"He just... Found out about everything all at once. He had never expected all of this to... happen to him." Emma shook her head. "I would flip too if I find out that my dad used to be woman and that I am adopted."
"I do get him. It's just that... I love him so much and can't stand looking him miserable. I would do anything in my power to make him happy." Regina was pouring her soul out to Emma and cursed herself for it. But it wasn't something she could, nor wanted to stop. She found it refreshing.
He is not lying. He is telling the truth. He does love Henry with all of his heart. At least the kid is at loving home.
"Talk to him."
I think Regina is an ass to ask that of Emma but hey, characters. They do what they want. Reviews can make me write faster, you know.
